Venice,Ive unloaded it now and also just finished a pile of ironing, which I must admit I don't mind doing:}I'm going to watch a travel documentary on TV ,in a few minutes.
I'm glad your plant's produced a new shoot,I'm always happy when plants do that ,I think it shows they're healthy:}
All have a good evening.
GYPSIES REVAMP CAMPS
Smiley,I quite understand LOL,I get confused with some of what's said,especially if the words and meanings aren't familiar to me:}Like last night,the Baby Swiss got me,JJ put me right:}
I can use my Europeaness as an excuse though:}
we love your Europeaness Joy *grin* kinda makes you sound like royalty
Your Europeaness
Venice that's great about your brom! Pic?
Flowers at work they make a cheeseburger soup, it looks disgusting but boy does it taste good.
Where's Dixie? i think I just saw her Poo's at the bus stop, they were peckign and scratching their way across the street and I was expecting to see Dixie running behind them waving her arms.
Hi Joy! I keep missing you girl! Lynnie love the floor! Flowers love the pictures....I never can get any where with my Calla Lillie. It has never bloomed. Smiley, that chicken soup sure sounds good! As a matter of fact all of the soup sounds good. Always ready to eat! JJ's I didnt know that about the Maytag mess. That pretty much sucks! Moon,I see your still gettin'er done. Grin....
A lady I worked with used to mix canned tomato soup & canned black bean soup. Called it (canned) chili soup. it looked really good, I wouldn't ever go near it though, knowing what it was.
Oops! Time to go home! 2 down, 3 to go...
This is my big brom for those of you who don't remember it. I got it many months ago for 50 cents and it is now in a 11 inch pot. It hasn't grown, it was just that big when I bought it. At that time, it had a broken stem with a flower and a few bad looking lower leaves. I was thinking that maybe it wasn't going to do anything. So I am very thrilled that it had a tiny baby.
By the way, AGED Swiss cheese is my favorite!
LOL,Lynnie I was ahead of Poo's elbowing people out of the way so my little darlings to cross safely. Didnt you see that little old lady swinging wildly, she was doing the wind mill. Just missed me. Grin..Dont want Flowers to feed me any soup! She probably puts anti-freeze in it! LOL...Venice,I know you are tickeled about your broms baby.
Smiley, have you ever had black bean soup? It's delicious! Or was it just the fact she mixed tomatoe soup with black beans? I dont think I would like that.
I knew someone who had a recipe that she thought was wonderful and wanted to share it with me. It was made with 5 different canned veggies all dumped together! Yuck!
I can eat canned kidney beans, or fixed up baked beans, or black beans, green and yellow beans only in a bean salad. But once you have had fresh, I just couldn't go back to canned. Also, the only frozen ones I eat are peas, French green beans cooked with onions, and a good quality of corn. I can't eat canned fruit either.
However, I like dried beans and peas.

Dixie, have we seen a photo of your new poo girl?
I know V. I'm with you on that. I dont care much for canned veggies either. Was thinking,I have some red beans ,red beans and rice would be very good right about now.
Are you speaking of Money Penny Poo? Grin....I'll try to get a pic of her in a little while and post it.
Dixie, please don't look at this!!
I know the movie 'Julia and Julia' tried to copy what Julia Childs did. But Julia Childs' was certainly a little more risque! I just think she was just so funny.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TVdI85jb8xg&feature=related
She is the Little Red Hen. I can see why you call her penny, sort of copper like a penny. Is she still laying eggs?
I'm with you V on canned fruits & veggies....only in th emost dire of circumstances!
That brom is HUGE is the flower that yellow thing on the side? I don't know plants.
Dixie Money Penny is quite a pretty chick..is Gerttie jealous?
Gerttie,is the Queen of the Poo's jealously is beneath her. Grin...Money Penny likes to hang in DH's shop with him. Thats where I took her picture. He will complain about her Pooping in there, but will clean up behind her. Go figure. Thats about all the cleaning up he does. I guess it's because she lays her eggs in his office. LOL....DH loves eggs! He has a little nest for her by his file cabinet. Grin
LOL don't mind me girls, I stay in my own little world, and just try to blend in every now and then. Kenmore town,appliance.....what the hey they both work. Whats wrong with taking floor to Karate and posting after pictures calling it before. I'm with ya girls all the way. Hey Dixie, love Penny Poo, but thought only roosters had the waddle on neck, are you sure thats not Peter Poo? LOL I wasn't gonna say anything but think Lynnie is right, we should post the next thread as Gypsies without their marbles lol. Thanks Joy, it looks a lot nicer in Summertime and looking forward to posting pretty plant pop ups as they show themselves this spring and summer.
Venice,LOL....love Julia Childs!
Lynnie isn't your new floor ceramic tile?
Dixie I didn't figure you knew about the Maytag mess. Was a big deal locally but not big enough to get press far away.
Those places change hands sometimes and no one ever knows. I worked there 30 yrs and it was called,Rockwell International, Admiral, Magic Chef, and Maytag. I can't remember all the different brands we made there.
Its hard to keep up with who's making what anymore.
Nice looking hen.
DH is tearing out cabinets, no one told me where I'm suppose to store all this. So much for the clean spare room.
Gotta go help, somebody send us some soup.....
Ok I take it back Dixie, if she is laying eggs then she must be a girl. Did ya get some more teeth from Wally World? Those you had were getting a little wore :-) Venice your Brom looks good to me, mine just shriveled up. I'm excited to see what the baby plant looks like in a few weeks.
Flowers I'm positive Money Penny is a hen. I havnt met a rooster that can lay eggs! LOL.
That is a nice brom, Venice. I remember when you got it.
Miss Dixie, I have never actually had black bean soup, but would like it I'm sure. The fact that she mixed 2 canned soups is what got me. I will eat canned soup, but am not crazy about it. I think it was Venice who said (up there somewhere) that Campbell's chicken noddle soup tastes good when you're sick. I agree.
When I was a teen-early 20's I worked in a private club as the cooks assistant. She was great at home cooking, roasts, her leg of lamb fell off the bone (tho I don't eat baa's) but everything else was canned or frozen. She went on vacation one year and "broke her eye" as I called it. Cracked her skull. So she was off for a while. In the meantime, the yuppie manager & I went to town with yuppie's favorite cookbook. Lynnie - it was "The Silver Pallette Cookbook", check it out. We made all kinds of things.
Then her eye healed & it was back to frozen veggies, canned this & canned that. And the lunch/dinner count went down to a third of what we had it up to.
Miss Money Penny Poo is certainly a brassy redhead!
No I was dissapointed in the teeth they had. I have to have some that will show (pretty)whin I smile for the camera!
Yeah Smiley,Money Penny goes to the salon once every 2 weeks and has the henna touch up. Grin...It's a shame ole broke eye came back to work sounds like yall had things going on!
I'm still in the cramped corner, been a bad girl and haven't done nothing but cook and wash dishes today, something about the cold just can't get motivated. Got to do monthly grocery shopping next week and I had rather someone beat me. But always glad to get it over with for a few weeks.
Does anyone know how to tell the difference in sex of canaries? (that's grammatically incorrect, can't think) They tell by the song. Males sing, females chirp. My mom bought me a canary once, we named him "Dribney". (that's BIRD~backwards) One day Dribney laid an egg.
So I called my mom & said we had to take him back because he was a she. My mom said "are you sure?" Didn't know no male bird could lay an egg, mom.
I'll beat ya Flowers! LOL...
Lynnie, the blossom on my bromeliad was like this but bigger. I don’t know if you can tell, but it is on a long stem. What you see that is yellow, is an incandescent light shining on a few small elephant plants that makes them yellow. The bromeliad has more daylight shining on it so it doesn’t show up with yellow on it.
Dixie, that is so sweet that your DH has a little friend. Can you take a photo of an egg in her nest? That is so nice that Penny likes her new home.
I have to take a load of laundry over to the washers at the Club House. I figured I am able to do one load at a time. But I hate going back and forth.
Flowers, sometimes I have days like that. I want to cook, bake (which I can't do for beans) and just lay around. It's good for the soul.
JJ, I thought that's why you cleaned the room. See? Everything happens for a reason.
I just bet you would Dixie meaness! Lets have a Flowers flogging, bet I can run faster than you!
LOL...Smiley Dribney sounds like a bad case of the runs! Uh excuse me,I have the Dribneys. LOL!! Sorry I just couldnt help my self.
Speaking of food, I have to go find something to eat.
Ya'll have a good night.
The brom baby is only a little over 1/4 inch tall. I will have to wait to take a photo because I can't get that close with my camera.
I doubt it with those little flamingo legs! Get to fast and trip they'll snap like twigs! Grin..
Send us a picture when it grows some more V.
Pretty Venice, mine was a lot smaller and probably didn't have a good root system yet. Yeah thats what happened. :-) JJ now he won't have any excuse to stop, you have a place all cleared out for his junk lol Thanks Smiley, your so sweet (unlike some people called Dixie), cold days are my lazy days but believe me they don't last lol
HAH! HAH! That's funny Flowers. We called him Drib, but one of our twisted friends changes our names around and she changed his to Dribney. He was a him at the time. It all worked out, because Dribney sounds more feminine.
Our next canary was Avis. He definitely sang!
Oh, I forgot to mention, Dribney was rare in the fact that she sang, females rarely sing. We have her on tape, she sounded beautiful.
http://www.soundboard.com/sb/Canary_Bird_sounds.aspx
This is what they sound like
Dixie I didn't see where anyone said anything about Dribney, Are you seeing things again?
Flower's whered ya go I was just gettin warmed up. Now I dont have my fightin buddy! Venice she usually lays her eggs in the mornings. I'll try to get a pic.
