GYPSIES REVAMP CAMPS

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

With all these improvements going on we need a new showcase for them. But we also need to remember to take time to sniff the daisies.

Ohhhh, sweet pic. Moon. I'll see yall in a while. Moon give Tooters a big smooch for auntie D.!!

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Will do, be careful...see ya later.

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

LOL Lynnie. I put him in his place for you.

Dixie, I have a Maytag dishwasher, washer and dryer.
I try not to buy a Maytag anything anymore. I worked in the refrigeration plant when they closed it and sent it to Mexico. Lot of people lost jobs...
That lost Maytag money because the refrigerators were junk and now Whirlpool makes the Maytag refrigerators.

Felt sorry for the workers in Mexico though, not their fault, and they still got shafted because the wages were lousy along with working conditions.
And of course the price of the product didn't go down for consumers. Only thing going down was cost of making it and the profits were going up...name of the game I guess.

Morning! Am I too late for cinnamon buns? Wow Moon, you are making me look bad, fresh baked and everything lol. I liked Hoss he was such a sweety and little Joe was just to sexy in a short kind of way. But now Ben, he had it goin on, had smarts and all wrapped up in one. Here is what it looks like here this morning: Looking off my back porch.

and looking towards North side :-) Use to be cattle pastures, but now are developing into acre lots and homes. This is where all my wind comes from. Don't want to block the view with trees.

Moon, preeety kitty! Soup was wonderful!

Can anyone tell me what my flowers are now LOL. OZ is on, catch ya back in a little bit.

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Never too late for cinnamon buns, Flowers, I tucked some back for you and Venice both. Nice and warm and gooey....grin. I bet Lynnie is having a fit cuz you have snow and she doesn't...grin

The soup sounded really good Venice, glad it was. I thought the kitty was just too pretty to not share. Reminds me of Bob Cat, if he had short hair instead of being such a furball....grin

What flowers. Flowers?

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

Nice pictures Flowers. OOOH I like that frame..

Got to head to work.
Keep telling myself these extra hours are my new kitchen appliances...grin...

Catch up later this afternoon.

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Be safe and have a good day JJ.

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

LOL, flowers in pictures Moon. Hey JJ, don't work too hard! Hi Smiley, its almost lunch time and I'm still in jammies, gotta get to gettin here. Catch you all later on.

(Zone 5b)

just got back from the class and the gym....I AM jealous of Flower's snow! It's 45 here, it was sunny a minute ago...now cloudy again. Any coffee & rolls left? :)

JJ bunch of people I know are going back to Sears for their appliances. We have a GE dishwasher that was nothing but trouble. 5 weeks they kept coming to repair that piece of junk, they finally upgraded it to a better model and it's been great and it now matches the stove...they have the same handle *grin* but I don't even want to tell you how much that dishwasher would have cost if we bought it.

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

We had a plumbing "glitch" to put it nicely, and wound up with water that NO ONE wants on GS's bathroom floor. Took a while, but thought we had it really clean. Then, over the next few days would find strange little puddle here or there on BR floor. Short version: Nasty water soaked under the vinyl floor tiles....No doubt....they gotta come out. Problem...previous owner masticked some of them to the old solid vinyl flooring, everything had to be scraped up....DD coming in 2 weeks, DH says go buy a rug to cover the slab....we can cut to fit.....YUCK I got these peel and stick tiles for $10 for 12 sq ft. area is very small, only gonna need 18-20 tiles. I am "dry" fitting them now. and letting them come to room temp....DH moved them outside....first thing he has "put away" since...who knows....grin So here is a before pic

I knew you would be Lynnie. Yep. knew you'd be hungry after the gym....saved a couple just for ya. You said you "lost" your new BR flooring?

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

Lunchtime everyone. Where you gonna move to Lynnie? Same hood?

Kenmore is generational. They move out, but they always move back. We live 2 blocks from where DH grew up, and we see people who he went to school with, that are parents of kids my kids went to school with.

Lynnie, you should be getting *some* kind of snow soon. I see it on my handy-dandy weatherbug.

Flowers, nice view. If I look out any window, all I see is the house next door. Or behind. Or across the street. Who painted the paintings?

Moon, good luck with your plumbing glitch. Hi Venice and JJ, although JJ's off to work by now, probably.

Venice, I keep a few cans of beef & chicken broth around, never know when it might come in handy. One time I threw the beef broth in a pot & cut up a bunch of veggies and threw them in. DH was all over that soup, I said 'you've got to be kidding? It started from a can!'. So I will occasionally make that for him. Your mention of barley sounds really good. I love barley!

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

That looks nice Moon, hope its dry enough for them to stay down. You did Goood! Smiley you may like looking at those houses if you had to mow all this every week. lol Gonna make soup with can beef broth, onions, potatoes, rice, leftover beans and think I will crumble left over meat loaf in it We'll see how that tastes. Lynnie honey believe me I would give you this snow in a heartbeat :-) I've had good luck with Kenmore appliances.

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

Moon, years ago I had a problem with water seeping under the tiles. Found out that the toilet was not sealed well on the floor! Yuck!

Your tiles look very nice.

Flowers, can never have too many flowers! They are really pretty, especially the lilies.

Smiley, I always freeze the broth from a crockpot chicken after taking the grease off after it chills. I think there is only one canned soup that I like, Campbell's beef, barley, and veggies. In general, I think the veggies in canned soups are mushy and don't really taste like they should. And the chicken seems tough and dry. However, I do like Campbell's chicken and noodle when I am sick.

Time for some wonderful homemade soup! Y'all can have some.

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Water not a problem....this happened a few weeks ago. It has just taken that long to remove two layers of flooring by hand, and make sure it is clean and smooth. The tiles are just a temporary thing....hopefully by summer we will be replacing all of the flooring, or at least the "public rooms" flooring. We were going to do that last year, but DD had baby and had to cancel their trip here, so we went to Au to see them.

I am hoping this looks better than $20, but I know almost any thing beats slab...grin

I have always had good luck with Frigidaire refrigerators.

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

You said before picture, so is that before you tore it up ..(as in the old floor) or before you stuck it down ( new floor)?
Looks good either way...

I need to get back to work..left my phone at home so ran back to get it between clients and let the dog out.

Lynnie can have my snow too Flowers. The sun is shining, its 13° but the sun is finally out, haven't seen it in forever.

Catch you all later

(Zone 5b)

Lord...I just wolfed down an egg & cheese sandwich...did I say I lost my floor? lol I may have said that from lightheadedness...ok I'll take pic of floor that I bought TWO years ago for my bathroom...floor was $60, camera was much more, oh it's the CAMERA I can't find, that's what I was talking about. As soon as that food hits my belly I'll be much better.

(Zone 5b)

ok glad I'm not the only one confused...Moon make the next thread Gypsies Lose Their Marbles lol

(Zone 5b)

this is a piece of the new flooring on top of the old flooring in my bathroom

Flowers, let us know how your soup is?

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

I like it Lynnie, I just don't care for the grout in ceremic floor tiles, too hard to clean.JJ I'm ready to go to Florida how about you? Soup was good, found little bit of cabbage and had home canned tomatoes to throw in with lots of spices and garlic. Meatloaf worked great in it crumbled up. Man I'm getting a lot done today, a lot of eating that is lol.

(Zone 5b)

yeah that's part of the reason it's coming up. also, the ceramic is cracked, also the ceramic has a rough texture and I'm done cleaning it on my hands & knees.

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

Flowers made meatloaf soup!

My mother makes the best chicken soup in the world. I know everyone's mom makes the best chicken soup, but my mom really does. She puts little meatballs in it, too. When we were little the big thing was to get someone to look away from their bowl so you could steal a meatball.

All that soup sounds really good!

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

I'll pack some for your lunch tomorrow Smiley, too much for me to eat. Sometimes expensive doesn't always perform or look the best Lynnie, I like vinyl tiles better. But what do I know, I'm just a city girl gone country!

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

Ummmm me love meatballs Smiley!

(Zone 5b)

Smiley at that xmas party Sat night, my friend had her attention turned elsewhere and I ate all the meatballs off her plate lol she thought her husband did it.

Flowers are you saying you don't like my floor? First my boxwood, now my floor *grin* My sister is getting a new kitchen floor that is some new material, looks like ceramic but it's manmade and there are no grout lines. It costs as much as ceramic tile, though. But it was nice, I like it, and I like the no grout lines thing. I bought my floor before this stuff came out.

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Oh, the camera...LOL I wondered why the flooring (which is very nice BTW) was going to karate with you....grin

That is a pic of the vinyl tiles I am putting down JJ. Thanks. Not too shabby for $20...grin

Soup sounds great...My Mom made the best beef stew/soup...depended on how much of what was leftover in the fridge...lotta meat...good stew. lotta veggies...soup. Same recipe just adjust water and onion and garlic....grin

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

I used to make a beef stew. It had tender chuck pieces, onion, potatoes, carrots, in a well-seasoned thick brown gravy. I happen to think of it when I saw that frozen chuck I have in the freezer.

(Zone 5b)

lol so they can karate chop it? I like your new floor, I was confused too, thought it was the one you were ripping up and thought what a shame. Flowers was confused too, when Smiley was talking about Kenmore the town Flowers was talking about Kenmore appliances... I need a translator! LOL maybe I need more sleep.

food: I'm making chicken cacciatore. I made the sauce Sunday.

(Zone 5b)

Venice sounds like the beef stew I make.

Dronfield, United Kingdom

Hi ,everyone ,good evening, hope your day's going ok.
Flowers,I love the view from your house.With or without snow,it's lovely :}
Can't contribute to cooking discussions,but I'm about to unlode dishwasher,that's about as close as I get to cooking involvement:}

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

You will never guess! You know that big brom I have? It finally has a tiny baby!!!!

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

Joy, I have to unload my dishwasher also.

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

I was confused all the way around. I thought Lynnie's tile went to Moon's before karate and ended up in the Kenmore dishwasher at Flowers' house.

Next we're gonna find Lynnie's camera in JJ's new pantry...
