What's for dinner part 4

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

Chocolate chip?
Did someone say chocolate chip? Where? Where? Oh, where?

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

LOVE chocolate chip cookies.

Southeastern, NH(Zone 5b)

I took your advice Victor and the chocolate chip cookies are baking now. : ) I realized you were right because I'd need to startthe rolls at 3:30. Now that wouldn't leave enough time until dinner now would it? I think I enjoy the dough more than the cookies personally. I have to eat 1/4 cup befor ethey are baked. : )
Here is a recipe I just found with a less flour version recipe near the bottom. http://www.cookingforengineers.com/recipe/185/Nestle-Toll-House-Chocolate-Chip-Cookies
The pictures of the cookies look just like the ones my Baci made and I could never figure out why hers were thinner and chewier than the ones I make. She'd always say I make the Tollhouse cookies and that was it! So that must be her secret!! : )

DSIL opted to run for pizza tonight. I wasn't looking forward to having pizza for dinner until he said 'Philly Steak and Cheese'.

Southeastern, NH(Zone 5b)

That sounds really good! I want to try that!

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

I don't even know which pizza chain makes it. When he brings it home, I'll look at the box and let you know.

Southeastern, NH(Zone 5b)

Thanks - I bet the local pizza joint would do it upon request. They have good steak and cheese so it should be good. : )

Huron, OH(Zone 5b)

pork roast, rice and corn tonight. DH cooked, I was doing barn chores.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

I actually miss barn chores

Huron, OH(Zone 5b)

It's so therapeudic, hopefully you can have them again someday.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Be happy you don't have kids, Allison. ^_^

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

Oh, Meredith!
It was Dominos

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

trust me... I am happy about that Victor.. it was by choice

:)

Southeastern, NH(Zone 5b)

Oooh we have Dominos here! : )

Dover, PA(Zone 6b)

There's a pizza shop in Duck,NC, Stone Oven Pizza, that made a cheese steak pizza to die for. They grilled their steak, onions, and peppers like a Philly Cheese steak, (maybe a little dryer), and spread them on a pie with an Alfredo sauce, heavenly!
After that, dinner to night sounds, well, rather flat. Center cut, seasoned, broiled, and boneless pork, scalloped potatoes, and buttered corn n" fresh cracked pepper. Ric
When the Saints....

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Handy tip...haven't tried it yet, but if it works, I'll be SOOOOO happy!

hhmmm I was always told to put the potatoes in cold water and bring to a boil so they cook even.. wonder if it would work as well

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

Same as to peel a tomato, only it is in the water for just 30 secs to a min. Plunge in ice water and the skin comes right off too. Pierce the bottom of tom. in an X before putting it in the water to blanch. Never heard of it being done with potato though, cool.

It is definitely a neat trick! I will probably never do it though, I feel like I'd end up burning myself (not being patient enough with the ice bath) and then I'd have an extra dish to wash from the ice bath. I guess Me set in my ways lol.

Making Baked Stuffed Schrod and rice pilaf with carrots for dinner this evening. : )

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Yes, I don't like using extra dishes either!

Have art class today, so won't be home til after 5---that means left over mac & cheese---think I'll add tomatoes & chilis to it to give it a life!

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

Great way to 'spice up' the mac & cheese, RD!

We are having leftovers, too, this evening, as I have an early meeting out.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Not sure yet. Leaning toward pasta with ham, cucumber and soy sauce (not too much). Very yumyy and everyone likes it.

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

That sounds interesting Victor.
Roast beef tenderloin, mashed potatoes and brocolli.

Southeastern, NH(Zone 5b)

Is that ham hot? Or is it a cold dish? Sounds like something I'd like. : )
Kid's choice.... Tacos tonight : )

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

We had pot roast last night!
Tonight it was salad, cajun catfish, seasoned salmon, little necks and fruit bowls for dessert. DH did all the cooking! ^_^

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Is fish his specialty, Celeste?

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

Sounds good Celeste.
Anybody have good recipes for veggies? I usually either steam them or saute in some garlic and olive oil. I'm bored with veggies lately, trying to eat 5 cups of fruit and veggies per day. I do have a recipe for some garlic mustard green beans I can post if anyone is interested.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Yes Victor,he does fish & steaks very well!

Roasted Chicken. Then what ever else. Too early to make up my mind.
