Well, quite a day today - went to the dentist and I thought we were just going to discuss the procedure he was going to do to my jaw.
He actually did the procedure..... My jaw's a little sore right now.
They took an impression of my upper and lower teeth, fit a "harness" around my head (shades of Hannibal Lechter!) and had me move my jaw in all directions. After that, they attached electrodes to my jaw, back of my neck, chin, shoulders, and temples, and started electrical pulses - for 50 minutes. I felt like I had wires coming all over me. His assistant actually plugged earphones into my "get up" so she could listen to the clicks and pops my jaw makes.......
His assistant said I could nap if I wanted to. AS IF! It was a build-up, but not a pleasant experience by the time it was over. When they took the stuff off, I was Really ready for it to come off. They said maybe the pulses were too strong.....
They sure were!! But, suffice to say, it will take more treatments at a slower pace to get my jaw ready to have the mouth guard on.
When I get it (more than the 1 1/2 to 2 weeks they initially thought), I'll wear it day & night.
They may send the zapper home with me for me to give myself the pulses.
Hooo boy, do I want to have a picture of that!!!!!!
I think I need to have a good night's sleep now - so tired...........
Susan
۞ Sweet Interruptions ۞181
Oh Susan! Have a good nights sleep.... that process does not sound like my idea of a good time!
and I'm supposed to go back on Wed or Thurs................. siiiiigh
ah well, just got reminded I need to pkg up my valentine's box (the sweets are done), and do 4 quilt blocks for the signature block swap.........
I should get going on it lol
♫♪~§usan~♪♫
No, I can't imagine that process either. OW! Hope your not too sore from the electrodes? Maybe take a muscle relaxer, and get a good nights sleep.
See you all in the morning.
oh Juuuuuuuuulie!
I have another poser for you!
Psalm 71: 16 - do you know if there's a sung version of it? It's not in any of our music books, but our pastor prefers sung versions of all our psalms.....
Or is Anyone knows, maybe you could help (My DH suggested I go back to my sistahs and see if they could help! What a guy!!)
Susan
you would think that I would know this. But....no song comes to mind with that exact phrasing.
Bon - I posted a new thread, and asked the question. MarciaGeiger made a suggestion, and I re-googled it.
The tune is "A Mighty Fortress Is Our God" and the words are:
PSALM 71:1-6
TUNE: EIN FESTE BURG
This is the tune for the hymn "A Mighty Fortress Is Our God"
1. In you, O Lord, I take ref-uge;
Let me be a-shamed nev-er.
In just-ice save and res-cue me;
In-cline your ear and save me.
O Lord, be unto me
A rock for my safe-ty,
A fort-ress of great strength,
In which I may be saved,
For you're my rock and fort-ress.
2. Save me, O God, from wick-ed hands,
From the un-just and cru-el.
For you, Lord God, are all my hope;
From days of youth, I trust you.
Upon you I have leaned,
Yes, ev-er since my birth;
You are the one who took
Me from my moth-er's womb.
I will at all times praise you.
Gosh, I love this venue called "Daves Garden"!!!!! No matter what I ask of it, someone can come to my rescue and help me find the answer!
Whether it's animal husbandry (fainting goats and sheep dogs), Colouring pages for kids, Sewing/Quilting, Beer & Wine Making, (of course Gardening of ALL KINDS) or Friendship of many kinds......... we find it here!
What a warm & fuzzy I'm feeling tonight.......
♫♪~§usan~♪♫
So, Susan, just how do you make those beautiful music notes across your posts?
( I finally went to bed early for a change...sorry I wasn't here but glad someone was for you...see He always comes through!)
Oh Susan you are so right! You just gave me a warm and fuzzy feeling which is awesome since I'm at work! Not much warm and fuzziness around here, there is but when someone is grouchy the whole office is supposed to be all quiet for that one specific person PPTTTHHHH LOL
That procedure does not sound like fun! I caught myself grinding my teeth as I was reading what you went through yesterday, I so feel your pain and so sorry you have to endure that! YUK!
Jaye take care of that back of yours, my foot finally quit hurting and I can wear my heels again! Wore them yesterday but the slacks I have on today are too short for them, I would be in high waters and I don't want that LOL
Morning everyone! Crissy, glad to hear your foot is better!

Morning Ladies, still raining & snowing here. We are already 114% above normal. And we still have Feb & March to get through. March is usually the month for lots of rain. The grounds are so soggy that there are trees falling down all over the place. Big Oak trees too, sure wished we could get the wood. Today is bowling day so I need to take a shower and get a move on here. TTFN
so which one makes the temperature degree symbol Cindy?

Susan sorry I wasn't around neither for you last night :( Crashed after the movie, which I'd highly recommend for us women.
Julie, that strikes too close to home!!! Kel's obviously has some of Moses' DNA in him!! He rather be lost than ask someone.
Cindy, your box is on the way. The Robert Kaufman fabrics are only sold at quilting stores, and most of the time, that's what they are used for or purses. The quilts will last forever! I'll try to find if it's still in stock.
Cookie, will this be your first time quilting?
Susan, poor you!!! Electrodes!!!! Geez.. hope you're not sending out some signals via your ears!!
((((((HUGS))))) Soon you'll be able to hit that perfect pitch ;)
BTW, how's Alice doing? Hope her meds are helping her.
AND that sweet man of yours is certainly a wise one, telling you to turn to your sistahs when you're in doubt!!
Crissy, so you're able to dance again? Hehehehe.. glad your foot is back to normal!
LK, I hate it when you're hurting. Rest my sistah.. empty that Kahlua, I'll send you more!!

So, I had to return to Windows Program on your start menu ►Accessories ► System Tools ► Character Map.

Jaye - be sure to use the # pad to your right, Not the ones at the top of your keyboard. They won't do a darn thing.
I spoke to my BIL last night and she's doing ok, but hasn't gotten her tube out of her chest. The little oxygen tube they put in her nose is ok. Until she gets the one out of her lungs she won't be able to go home. He's kinda lost without her at home...... poor guy.
I'll try to call the hospital later and see what they have to say......
Susan
I tried the number pad too, didn't work at all Susan.
That had been suggested before, when I had my old keyboard. Still with this new one.. NADA :D
A slower recovery time ensures no infection, I think. We'll be praying along with you for Alice..
Good morning, the sun is out, but temp. is only 48. I know that sounds warm to a lot of you, but too cool for me. Didn't get a chance to get on DG yesterday, had a yucky day. Thought I had the flu, but felt fine this AM. Have to practive some of those character symbols. I think I did print out the character map at one time, but who knows where I put it.
I moan and groan when I have to go to the dentist (tomorrow is my lucky day) and poor Susan has so much to go through. Many years ago a dentist made a mouth guard for me that I wore at night. It did help my problem, no jaw popping and no more waking up with headaches.
Well, off to practicing my symbols.
I'll have to wear mine day & night, but the dentist said it's almost invisible.
and I also will get partials later.
In the meantime, I have another app't on Thurs am to get the pulsing done again.
edited to add - the pulsing will go on for upwards of a month, and I won't get the mouth guard for awhile yet - they have to see how relaxed they can get my jaw before they remeasure for a guard.
It'd be funny to send you a pic of what I look like with all the paraphanalia wrapped around my head, and me "plugged in" LOL
Susan

Thanks!!
I hate dentist visits!! You're right Pegi, besides the mouth hurting, our checkbooks hurt too :(
Got to get this paper piecing done, if not, I'll be late again... sigh...
heart heavy. no, it's not because I'm on a laptop with no way to make cool symbols.
Dr. Roy Epperson, of Greensboro NC, passed away over the weekend. He is - was - president of the American Iris Society. He and I spoke at the last ENCIS meeting and he was going to help me become and iris judge.
I'm seeing my dr. this afternoon about this sinus mess! On top of everything else, I started sneezing again last night, and now my nose is running like a river again!
that's how all this started!
Bonjon, sorry to hear about the doctor. Is there someone else you can speak with about being a judge?
Susan, I do not envy you one bit about having to go to the dentist. I should have went years ago to get false teeth but never had the courage. In a town not too far from here there is a dentist that has on his sign "We cater to cowards" should probably call him....I prefer the "put me to sleep and wake me when it's over" method but they don't like doing that. (saying a prayer for you and your sister too)
bbl...gotta go write some more. Would love to write here but they are not even sure the writers they have will be kept. Glad to see Dave is still going to be around though.
oh, for me, I don't need prayers, but certainly for my sister, Alice!
Thank you Julie ^_^
I find it rather funny thinking about what I must have looked like all plugged in ^_^
If I have to bring the stuff home, I'll be sure to have Bob take a picture LOL

Jaye...my first quilting in about 20 years....I made a machine lapquilt, dresden plate in a quilting class. Thought after that, once was enough, but I can't let you sistahs have ALL the fun!
Aww Julie, you certainly would be contributing important tips for novice gardeners like me. I never knew I could start cuttings in a potato!!!!!!
Sistah Susan, as long as you're not required to put on a metal colander/strainer, I'm not going to worry about you being 'plugged'!!!!
Audrey, bummer! You'd be prescribed some heavy duty antibiotics!!
Btw, did you get your fabric? Should be there by now.
Welcome back to quilting, Cookie!!!!! Yaaaaaaay!!!!!
Kel called me up to bring him a jacket! That man was wearing sleeveless shirt at work today, as 60* to him, is warm :D
Smart man forgot about the relentless wind!!!
there must be someone. His co-hort over in Greensboro is Ruth Barker. I'll be asking around. Our president of ENCIS is a retired judge, irisloverdee is a judge (but in OR) and Ruth is a judge or retired judge. someone's gotta help me. I want the training more than anything else, so I know how to cull through my future iris seedlings. if only 10 in 100 are worth keeping, I want to know which 10. Wouldn't y'all?
Jaye, i found the fabric. I went online to Beverley's and it was on sale too. I ordered it yesterday and it is being delivered today!!!
thats one we used to sing at church a lot.. very good.

Good evening! How is everyone tonight? Probably in bed already. I am heading that way, in just a few minutes.
Cookie, glad we got you back to quilting?
Cindy, glad to hear you got more fabric to match. Nice going!
I took Dad to the foot specialist, and he checked it all out. He only has a pulse on the top of his foot, not on the bottom or sides, which means his circulation is bad. We already knew that from the stroke he had 9 years ago. After the evaluation, he told us he could do surgery, if Dad was not such a high risk to blood clots, and strokes, so Dad will not be having any surgery to open the arteries in his foot. He does have to start wearing a special support hose, to keep the circulation going, and he has to sit in the recliner several times a day, to keep it elevated! Thats about all we can do for it.
Saying good night, see you all in the morning!
LK wishing you a good night and prayers said for your dad.
Thanks Trisha.
