Good morning all! Moon loved the link....to the Zoo! And the music was just the little pick me up I need this a.m.! They must have cleaned up all the mess we made. Thought I did see a few big wheel tracks though. A fuzzy sock hanging on a bush and the remains of a peanut butter sandwich! LOL!

Lynnie, on Modern Marvels last night they did "eggs". Very interesting! Ever try an ostrich egg?

They also had the art that people do with the empty ostrich eggs.

I read the thread about Dave's Garden getting sold also, I sincerely hope nothing changes, and no member options are taken away.

Good Morning everybody! Loved the zoo in the Bayou Moon, looked like where we were at and even saw Dixies beat up BW :-) See what happens when we have a day out? Hopefully it will be a smooth transition and won't cause a lot of hubba hoopty. Us DGers don't take kindly to change

Am interested to hear the goals and plans from Michael at IB. Sounds like they have a lot of experience in gardening and such also. Guess Dave is just tired and needs a life outside of DG, which I would think would be a full time job just keeping up with it all.I just always hate to see a good founder of a company sell out, seems it gets to comercialized after that.

The open house was of course at the same time as the zoo-fari..8-(. and believe me the zoo would have been much more fun. Promised GS we would go out to eat afterwards, so had to keep that promise....didn't get home til almost 9PM. Glad you enjoyed the link...Yup, saw the crashed up BW's.....grin

The sale to IB was the second sale...DG was purchased from Namemedia by Internetbrands. It would appear that Dave is still gonna be a driving force behind the site. That is a wise decision by IB....as everyone is saying...if it ain't broke, leave it alone....grin

Well it is always nice to get out and see what the night life is all about during the week sometimes. What was it? Meet the teachers sort of thing? I'm not crazy about this color of paint, was a little different than color picked, but will live with it. Gonna have to go darker on one wall to tone it down or wear sunglasses to play on the net lol

How does someone sell a co. twice? double dipping Dave huh LOL. Guess the first company bailed.

Ok , neighbor wants me to go tooling about with her, don't have any money thanks to electric company but maybe can get ideas for later :-) Will maybe get some outdoor pictures, see a little green starting back on the grounds. Catch up with ya later Moon, and all you find folks have a terrific day!

It is my understanding that Dave's was purchased from Dave by Namemedia a few years ago, but retained his position as DG admin. IB has purchased the website from NM now and according to Michael, Dave will still handle the admin duties as before....hopefully.


That is why when I paint, I buy one of the little sample jars of my color so I can see what it really looks like on the walls.

hi all! I got called into work this morning, I did a quick 1/2 hour of cardio at the gym, then showered and went in for a few hours to help out. I left in time to get to the bus stop.
I'm eating lupper (?) now lol I only had time for a hard boiled egg this morning.

I'm getting a pedicure with my sister tonight, a spa pedicure I haven't had one in probably 2 years. Gonna have to get hubby to carry me around so I don't ruin it ;)

The fun is wearing off at the SPCA, Moon. When not busy they send all the volunteers to the cat room. There's so many teens volunteering for school hours (National Honor Society or what-not) that they're all over the place. So she has 'skipped' here & there.

I told her it's time to go get her working papers. Like her brother, am going to have to force her to get a part time job. Some of her friends have them, and they go restauranting a lot. Problem is, a lot of places require you to be 18.

Whoooaaaa a pedicure, Thats neet Lynnie, I can't get em. I'm too tickilish someone would have a big toe up their nose lol. Venice enjoyed the videos so uplifting Thanks!. Hi Smiley and Moon, getting ready to do homework? Wheres JJ, miss my buddy ole pal. Think Dixie volunteered at the zoo today to show the monkeys how to scratch and swing and beat their chests. Shes such a trooper!

So many places serve alcohol also. Makes it hard to even get a bussing job. Part-time for the 16 to 18 crowd is getting harder to find. Maybe the library has something....here they hire HS kids for the early evening and Saturday morning/Sunday afternoon hours.

Smiley we hired 15 yr olds to run the pizza end of it at the convenience stores. She may be able to work in a deli or better yet a sporting good store at the mall, they seem to love that.

lol Flowers now I'll be thinking of your big toe up the spa lady's nose the whole time! this place is a nice fancy day spa my hubby gets me gift certificates every year, so you get a non alcoholic drink, a scented warm pillow, and a leg massage with the pedicure. I guess if you're that ticklish you'd be writhing in your heated massage chair *grin*

One of my youngest daughters first jobs was at the movie theater, she brought home the left over pop corn at night and fed the whole neighborhood lol

Can't even imagine a massage Lynnie, I'd be cracking up and jumping all over the room. lol

I worked in (ok Moon this will not surprise you at all!) the kitchens of nice restaurants in high school. Ever since I was 14.

I worked in a movie theatre for a short time too, in nursing school. I was also a driving instructor that was fun *grin* had to be 21 for that.

My first job was a counselor at a youth day camp, that was fun!

Lynnie will you teach Dixie how to drive the BW? I'm tired of her running into me lol

sure Flowers, back then I made $5.25/hour, can Dixie afford me?
plus the student cars had a brake on my side, which came in handy

Man do I feel old now! Think on that job I made 1.25 an hour. But ya have to remember you could buy a big bag of chips for a quarter. Could get in the movies I think for a quarter and pop corn was 10 cents a bag.

My "job" from 14 to 18 was taking care of younger Bros while my mom worked. Never got a chance to have a real parttime after school job.



Make sure the BW has that brake before ya sign on Lynnie....grin Save a mailbox or two...lol

LOL what are ya saying Moon, I need to take lessons too?? That mail box just jumped out in front of me. Reminds me of the time I plowed the stop sign down with my sons car. Got out and moved it out of the road and kept on truckin lol
