Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Nope...the problem is gonna come with keeping the house safe for/from the 10 month old who is starting to walk....grin

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

Good luck there...foam padding taped to all the end table corners..
Be like a big pinball game...LOL

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Outlet covers, cabinet locks, door stops, corner protectors and anything that breaks at least 3 ft off the floor....ah yes, the good old days....you got it on the pinball game....grin

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Back to it...been folding clothes....time to start back with the cleaning...later, Ladies

(Zone 5b)

I think I'm days behind here! A couple friends took me out to dinner for my birthday (early) last night, it was very good and lots of fun. JJ wanna know what I had?
Today I slept a little later than usual, ran to the gym, and now I'm cleaning like a madwoman. Got the kids scrubbign bathrooms & dusting and the robot is doing his part.
Oil heat makes a lot of dust all winter.
How are all you fine gypsy friends today?

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

Doing fine Miss Lynnie.
GS went home few minutes ago so I need to get busy too.

Been doing taxes for friends and wishing I would get back what they do. :(

Have to redo W4's for DH and me or next year we will be paying.
This new pay to work tax doesn't pay if you have multiple jobs that pay little( they take no tax out or very little) but add up when added to pension and DH wages (then you didn't have enough taken out).

I sure hope people are paying attention. The bigger paycheck is great and I suppose it ( tax )works for most, but for people with multiple part time jobs better be paying close attention.

Good example is a $200.00 paycheck may have no federal taxes taken out. If you have two jobs that could be $400.00 in wages and no federal tax out. Going to be bad news at end of year unless have a lot of deductions.

I love tax time.....not

(Zone 5b)

geez that's a pain JJ! Can you opt to have the federal taxes taken, or pay quarterly or something?
My FIL is a CPA, I think he's ok to do our taxes lol seems fine. Last week he was saying everyone thought Hitler was dead, but he's not &pointed at my MIL because she won't let him take her car. i said grab the keys and run, she'll never catch you lol he hasn't replaced his car yet.

Jesup, GA

Seed, glad to hear your DH Iis doing so well. Hope he continues to recover. I'm still using all of the Puff's up in county.....but am getting a little better. Hi JJ's,Moon and Lynnie,Venice. And aint tax time grand!!!!!

(Zone 5b)

Hi Seed, I had to scroll way up to see you up there! :) glad your dh is doing well.
I read that book, very sad. Ugh!

Jesup, GA

Hi Lynnie since I have been under the weather......hope you have been keeping up with my excersise! Grin.....O.K. Smiley here goes painting,I'm no proffesional yall be kind. Grin...Its just some thing I enjoy and dont get a lot of time to do.

Lynnie I will just fill out a new W-4 and have them take a extra $10 a week and that should do it. Could make estimated quarterly payments but thats a pain.

We would be fine I think but cutting it to close for me. It's the little PT jobs that don't pay enough weekly that screw it all up. Sure your FIL would know what I'm talking about.

I am sure being a CPA he is more than qualified.
I have been doing my own for 30 years. Took some tax classes few years back and was going to set up little tax business. To big of a pain...all that record keeping. Just do friends and families now. After that I've had enough.

Besides almost anyone can do their own nowdays online. Heck the program does all the work.

(Zone 5b)

Dixie I LOVE that, it's beautiful!
JJ he's qualified I meant ok enough after his concussion lol
my father used to do mine, then I did them myself, now dh's dad does them...he likes to I think.

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Hey guys....taking a quick break. Stirring up dust. It has been raining and 53 seems like since yesterday.....grin. Just saw the sun starting to peek out. Hope you all have a great evening.

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

I thought you were just being funny.....didn't think about the concussion,LOL
He probably does like to do them....keeps him busy and his mind sharp

(Zone 5b)

snow! we're getting snow tonight! and I don't have to work tomorrow! :)

I emptied all my stuff out of the bedroom, asked him if I could empty his closet, he's giving me a hard time. Says he'll "start" it tonight, he "has to go through everything" and throw some stuff out. This sounds like a much longer way to do it than I had in mind. Sigh.

Jesup, GA

Thanks Lynnie, about my painting. Wonder if I streatch my nostril,ya know like the natives in National Geo. that the end of my vacume cleaner hose would fit? It's a thought. Grin.....

Jesup, GA

DH just told me he will stick the end of the air hose in nose. Think that will work....will have to pick my eye balls off the floor! Just trying to find a solution.....LOL...

(Zone 5b)

just dab Dixie, just dab, or you're nose will start bleeding lol

Jesup, GA

Sneaking this in. Heres a picture Of DH and Erin chick.Pooh bonding.....Erin is the sweetest. Timmy and Gerttie duck Pooh have fallen in love as well. Cupid's little arrow has struck them.

Lynnie, I bought a roast today! Sale at Krogers. They also had oranges on sale. I hesitate getting an 8 pound bag just for one person and I am really picky about my fruit. However, just had one and they were really good. Glad I bought them.

Dixie, Erin pooh is very pretty. How can you tell that Timmy and Gerttie poohs are in love? Do they just go everywhere and do everything together? You will have to take a photo of the little love birds! I really can empathize with you about your cold. Be sure you don't run out of tissues!

Kitty has been sleeping in the bathroom sink more. I will have to take a photo. When I go in the bathroom it is dark. And she kind of startles me when I turn on the light. Surprise! Kitty in the sink.

(Zone 5b)

Venice what size roast did you buy? We're still eating this one lol
today I had a roast beef sandwich on grilled wheat bread with melted cheese, hot peppers & roasted red peppers and smoky horseradish spread....was it good!

Dixie there's nothing that melts the heart of a woman like the sight of a man holding a chicken *grin* what's your hubby's name?

Does this mean Gerttie won't come out with us anymore?

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

I bought a 2 pound boneless angus chuck roast. Do you think I should cut it in half? For one person that may be too much to just up in a few days. Ok, how long do you recommend to keep a roast?

Jesup, GA

Venice thats cute, kitty sleeping in the sink. I think kitty's cute any way. Timmy and Gerttie are mateing.....that kind of leaves poor little Hortense out of the loop so far. But I'm sure that will change. Timmy is the only drake. So he has two wives. Gerttie kinda rules the roost in duck poodom. All though Timmy is acting more manly now. Grin..I have a new stash of Puff's now,and feeling a little better.

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

I thought they only mate in the spring.

Jesup, GA

LOL Lynnie......DH doesnt know I put his picture on thread. What he doesnt know ....so on and so fourth. DH's name is Mike. Gerttie says she will come out with us again. She'll wear her boa and have Timmy on her arm.

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

The ducks here are quite agressive in the spring. The males even gang up on the poor females who go around with a bald head and neck.

Jesup, GA

Venice I guess we'll just have to tell them that. LOL....All I know is that they are definately mateing. I guess I do need to read up on the mateing habits of ducks. Kinda after the fact though. Grin..

Jesup, GA

LOL....V. Gertties not bald. But does sort of have a little MoHawk going on. DH and I were laughing at the feathers standing up on her head. They may start mating down here a little eariler. Because weather is warmer.

Jesup, GA

Lynnie I didnt know you just had a birthday. Happy BD to you,Happy BD to youuuuuu! How young are ya? Grin..

(Zone 5b)

sure Dixie, sure, that's the excuse New Englanders use too...the weather. There's even a poem ;)
Venice I think you should cut the roast in half, freeze half. My roast was under 3 lbs and we've been eating for that many days lol let me check my freezer chart...beef roasts 6-12 months in the freezer...I'd go with 6. I'm a safety girl :)

how would you stop ducks from mating if it were the wrong season?

(please occupy me while my dh cleans his closet...can't watch)

(Zone 5b)

no we went out to celebrate early, because I'm working the day of my b-day then on call all that weekend. It's really Feb 4th. I believe I'm 30 *grin*

Jesup, GA

Guess we'll have to recite poem to Timmy and Gerttie...LOL...30 Lynnie, your just a baby. Your younger than my son. Hold on and let me spoon my self some more pablum between my old wrinkeld gums. Grin....

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

Lynnie, thought you were going to be 29!! How long will the cooked roast keep in the fridge?

I guess egg laying has to do with amount of daylight or other light. I read that males pick out a female in winter so they are ready to go in the spring. But Timmy doesn't have a selection to choose from. So things are different for them. Just checking to be sure -- Does Gertie have a nesting box? "Dimensions should be about 12" X 12" X 6" high, lined with straw."

Jesup, GA

Helloooooo,Lynnie leave DH alone and let him clean! You can go behind him later. Grin

(Zone 5b)

according to my chart Venice it's 3-4 days...I usually do 4, my mother always says 5 and she's never gotten me sick, so.....

I am I am Dixie! *grin*

Jesup, GA

Timmy only has Gerttie and Hortense to choose from. Yes all female Poos have nesting boxes. We have a little red hen chicken that has taken up here as well. I dont know who she belongs to. There are some people about a block over that have some chickens,I am going to check with them soon and see if she belongs to them.

(Zone 5b)

check me out...I still have those lines in my arms, they are permanent fat lines!

Thumbnail by Lynnie6868
(Zone 5b)

Gerttie doesn't strike me as a nesting chick, she's a more sit on a barstool and let a guy buy her a drink chick ;)

Jesup, GA

I think I have terminal snotty nose. It's just splendid when I try to sleep at night and one side is clogged up and other isnt. I whistle my self to sleep. Make up tunes to play....Oh Suzanna is one I can do very well. Grin...

(Zone 5b)

drink some steamy tea or something Dixie, or have a nice hot bath, maybe?
