Gypsies, what LIES ahead?

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Morning JJ. How starts your day today?

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

Nice and quiet for now. ^_^
I am sure little GS will be waking soon.

Have you got all your work done?

Jesup, GA

Good morning all. I feel worse this a.m. than yesterday. Go figure??? Was so sorry to hear about Imazadi. Just so glad to hear no one was hurt. My prayers are with her and family. Moon the breakfast sounds good. Send me a plate! Have to be buried not to eat. Grin....JJ's love the murals. While I have been sick,I've been painting a little when I've felt like it. Love to paint....as a rule time is not on my side. This one is of ferns,I'll nap and paint. Grin.....I especially love the one in your stair well, just beautiful.

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

Thanks Dixie, I wish I could paint things like that...no talent here not even a straight line with a ruler.

Oh Moon I spoke to soon

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Good Morning Dixie...that is how this crud goes...feel better, feel worse, feel better....take care of you...good care of you...grin

Ah yes....the little man is up and raring to go??? I have the attic and 3 of 6 closets done. It is just time consuming, and DH has decided to go on a mental vacation....one that will come to an abrupt end on his next set of days off....grin

Jesup, GA

JJ's I dont know if you can call it talent or not. LOL....It's just some thing I have always loved to do. Is lillle GS doing better? Hope so....Moon has been sneaking back and fourth to attic playing with all of her friends......Big Bird,Earnie,Cookie Monster....Grin....puts DH,and GS to work and dissapears. LOL.....go MOON!

Jesup, GA

Heard ya Moon, about DH and mental vacation! My DH is same way.....have to ride rough shod over them. Grin.....With mine its like (getting him started on a project)once I have accomplished that,he's good to go. But Lord have mercy! It's the getting him started that's the killer!

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

Good Morning all.
Dixie, don't like it when you're sick. Takes all the joy out of your twisted postings! (that was meant to be a compliment) You paint? Post a picture!

JJ, your woodwork and murals are fantastic. Did they paint everything & you've stripped it all?

Venice, Go Colts! I'll root for them since I know you're there. You've mentioned them before, big football fan? I could care less anymore, I'm in Buffalo....

Joy, congrats to Sam, and you of course also. You must be very proud. Will's birthday is the day before DD's! She will be 17 this July. Ugh.

Thanks for the breakfast Moon. I missed shopping last week, figured we'd use up some of what was here. Big mistake! I went hungry (no breakfast food) and spent twice as much. My main grocery store is running one of those monopoly games ~ I got 16 tokens (depends on what products you buy). I thought that when the hollow-legged one moved out my grocery bill would go down, but that hasn't been the case. On second thought, it's probably that the prices have gone up.

Flowers, I'm not looking forward to my gas bill this month. Our house is heated with natural gas, I'm figuring around $200 this month (double what it usually is in the winter). I could go on balanced billing & pay around $90 every month, but can't see doing that in the summer when they're around $25. I wouldn't have any money for plants!

Hi Lynnie, what's on tap for today?

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

I hear ya, Dixie. It has always amazed me that only one person in this house is responsible for the mess/clutter/clean-up....grin. I keep telling them if they just put their junk away and pick up after themselves life would be so much happier and neater...lol

Yup...the attic is my new playground....grin

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Good Morning Smiley. I hear ya on groceries. DH does a lot of the grocery shopping....he never looks at prices, forgets (he says) coupons, and shops with his stomach. We can both go to the grocery, buy basically the same things, and he will spend $25 to $50 more than me.

We are all electric here...not by choice, but availability...no natural gas lines running into sub-div. Of course, I wasn't complaining when last month's bill was $105. Just read where the fuel charges are going up....bet the cost of fuel increase will double the bill this month....my bill system let's you enter a "nick name" for billers...the utility company is listed in mine as "robber barons".

Jesup, GA

I know it Moon! DH is real bad about stringing and strowing things about in the house. For years I have said the same thing.......pick your stuff up and put it where it belongs.....I am not your maid. He thinks I am,it hasnt changed and probably wont! LOL.....

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

I hear ya Moon. Up here, being near Niagara Falls, you would think our electric would be less expensive. I don't know how it all works, but get this, the electricity generated by the power plants in Niagara Falls gets shipped down the east coast.

Robber barons is a good name for them.

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

I once gathered up the various tools he had left lying around the house, put them in a big vase and plunked it in the center of the table when we had company...called it Hubby's Centerpiece contribution...stuck post-it notes on each one telling where it was found....he was p-o'ed....friends thought it was funny....became his idea by end of night....grin

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

It is like gasoline prices....we have one of Exxon's largest refineries right here in Baton Rouge...all the gasoline produced here is sent up Mid-west/North-west, and when ya check gas prices, they are paying considerable less per gallon than we are....grit teeth/hiss....

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

DH does most of the cleaning around here, so can't complain. But he'll set something down on a flat surface and there it sits. How many times he passes by that thing on the shelf, mantle, piano I can't say, but I end up gathering these 'doo-dad's' and putting them away.

And if he does what Moon & JJ just did... we have a storage area of boxes upstairs, it's kind of hidden away. When DD was little she would go up & get a box of toys or three. Of course they all ended up getting mixed up. When he decided to "organize" this area he would just shove stuff in boxes, no rhyme or reason to them. I would end up having to separate the barbies from the hot wheels, video's etc..

Anal, I know, but I envisioned this stuff all neat & in their own boxes. (now it is because she doesn't do toys anymore)

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

Moon, one of our congressmen actually went to the gas robber barons and asked why Buffalo gas prices were more than even Rochester, which is 1-1/2 hours away, when we have refineries in the area.

The answer he got was because 'Buffalo was at the end of the distribution line". HUH? It had to pass by Buffalo to go anywhere. Our gas is $2.91/gallon today, at a good station.

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

My DH's favorite line..."I can't ever find what i am looking for." If I am in a not so nice mood I will respond with.."Last time I used the chain saw I put it back in the work room" or "My tools are in my tool box....you can use them if you put them back"....he gets really 'pissy" about that....grin

It makes it hard to find things when they are scattered about in boxes...ease was the reason for boxing them to begin with....sheesh

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Yup....same BS answer here. When gas was $3.29 a gallon here...it was $2.79 in Denver, and if I remember correctly $2.64 in Wyoming.....the further away the cheaper it got....

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

It's so much easier to put things back where they belong, isn't it?? Then there's no question where it is.

I get calls at work from DH or DD (especially) looking for 'that schlabotnik'. What? You're there, I'm here.. go look for it!

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Roseanne Barr got it right when she said men think a uterus is a homing device....grin. DH will ask where something is BEFORE he even looks for it...drives me nuts.

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

they do that because they know we usually know where it is. why waste time looking?

Jesup, GA

Good mornin Smiley...Sounds like we all have the same problem with our DH's. LOL....It is in the genetic make up of men. Age old problem. Thats probably what happened to Adam and Eve......Eve got sick of cleaning up behind Adam! Kept strowing all of his dirty fig leaves around. Grin

Jesup, GA

LOL.....Moon.

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Or how about when they come in and say they have looked everywhere for such and such and you walk into the room and pick up what they are looking for and hand it to them...DH gets a bit upset when I say things like'That rude hammer, hiding right there in plain sight...shame on it"

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

That's a killer. Let me stop what I'm doing and go find that thing that's hiding in plain sight..

Jesup, GA

Reminds me of twice lately DH closed the shop and came in house......first thing he says is he cant find his phone. What do I do. Go out there both times and find his phone for him. I'm an enabler....LOL.

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

We all are Dixie...we love them and have learned to live with their annoying habits...which is why they have so many....grin

Jesup, GA

Well girls gotta go get something to eat and take meddy as little grand calls it....Grin...she is getting quite the vocabulary. I'll pop back on later. Hope you all have a great day!

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Have a sweet one, Dixie...feel better, Dear....SOON.

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

Must get on with my day too. Do I finish watching 'The Hurt locker', which was VERY good until I fell asleep (won the Critic's Choice Award for best movie) or clean up? Or play with the papers for the tax man?

I think we all know what's gonna win..

Have a good day everyone, will catch up later.

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Enjoy your movie and visit with your Mom....sounds like a winning day.

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

The Colts won 20-3! If they win the next game they will go to the Super Bowl AGAIN!

I am not a sports person but it is hard not to be excited when everyone else is. Many people get dressed in blue or wear logos and they are always talked about on any news. One year the city painted all the picnic tables blue!

Dixie, so sorry you feel worse. I sure hope it doesn't continue very long. I am still recouperating from before Christmas. (But then again, I am older and I think that makes a difference).

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Congrats on you home team winning. I agree, it is easy to get caught up in the excitement. Football is a huge deal here...LSU Tigers, Southern Univ. Jaguars and of course The NO Saints.

Glad you are starting to feel better Venice. We surely have missed you around here.

Glenview, IL

Good morning...

LOL, I have been on cleaning frenzy! Much like it seems everyone here.
Got to be pretty excited about it, Trying to get it all done now, so the minute nice weather hits and snow melts, I can be outside!!

Tuesday DH had his knee surgery. So i've been keeping busy with loading his ice machine.
Thurdsay, he went off the pain killers and was up and about. Friday walking around without the help of a cane.
and Yesterday decided he could drive! Today he is already gone. So...life is going back to normal.
He goes on Monday for checkup and bandage removal.

Today I must stop looking and thinking about my Kitchen towel swap and start sewing! LOL, times running out.
We are also going to see the New Movie The lovely Bones...

Smiley, I say finish the Movie first...Oh and was that your home in the pictures, Very lovely!
All the pics in the previous thread were.

Moon, so funny, will have to remember your saying : how dare that hammer hide right in plain sight, hahaha just love it.
You sure are going gangbusters cleaning too. Dh started to clean basement before his surgery, got a ton thrown away and organized some of his tools. Yikes, what a mess.

Dixie, sure hope you feel better.

Well I better get a move on, here...Still playing catch up on other threads too.
Leaving coffee for y'all.
Enjoy the day.

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Hey Girl. Good to see ya. Yup. trying to get all the spring cleaning done before DD and Family get here from Australia in February. Seems like I am the only one that thinks things need to be cleaned....grin

So glad all went well with DH's surgery. Feel free to use the hammer line...or the hammer, which ever gets the best results...grin

Know you have a ton of projects...just don't forget we like ya and miss you....grin

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

Glad your DH is doing fine Seed.

Moon somewhere you said something about painting door with calkboard paint for GS Aiden.
Be careful that he doesn't think that all doors can be skribbled on.....

Oh shoot I have just been found and now wants chocolate milk.
Sheesh he's already had blue juice, OJ and regular milk..

Gotta go catch you later

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Thanks JJ. I will tell him he can only write on the black door...all the rest are white so chalk wouldn't show up....grin. It is always something with the little ones...swear they do it for attention.....grin

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

Welcome Moon. I just remember my old neighbor painted a wall in the kid's BR with that.
Older kids loved it but her little one thought if they could write on the wall in the BR why not all the rooms...and it wasn't chalk she wrote with...grin...

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Ouch. Hopefully it wasn't permanent marker...grin

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

No little daughter found the crayons one of the other children didn't put away.

You shouldn't have that problem...
