Gypsies, what LIES ahead?
Hope Imazadi gets things fixed so glad no one got hurt! I will send one up for sure, and lets don't forget those poor people in Haiti and all the rescuers. Great Title Moon and Love the picture.
I sent her a D-mail with prayers from the Gypsies....told her to let us know how she is and if there is any way we can help. Still no word from SunnyFlo, a DG member from just outside Port au Prince. Hope she is okay.
Glad ya like it Flowers.
GRIN...JJ, I love the mural....such a relaxing scene. isn't that always the case? Just when ya find what ya want.....sheesh.
Sure have missed you guys. DH and GS gone off to GS's B-ball game. Gonna get as much done as possible while they are gone. takes more time to explain than to just do it myself....grin
I read that about Imzadi...so frightening and sad. At least they are fine.
Sorry to hear of DG member in Port au Prince, will keep her in prayers also.
Crazy things just keep coming. News last night had a report on a Galesburg guy in Afganistan who's unit had come home and he didn't get to. Know one was talking and him or his family had no clue what was going on.
Well according to the report his mother had sent pictures of his 4 yr old niece in her bikini and it is considered child porn and they arrested him. Now they say he has adult pictures also and that is illegal over there also. So they want to have trial over there and he could get up to 10 yrs in Afganistan prison. Needless to say there is big uproar.
His mom works same place my mom does and she said some people were being awful kept saying to her things like must be more to it, those pics aren't porn, what's the real story things like that.
He is young like 23- 25 and just wants to come home.
So much for thanks for defending are country.
Least bring him home to sort it all out.
That is such a shame. I sincerely hope all works out for them. I agree," thanks and by the way"....what a sad state of affairs.
Love my make shift faucet?
When I got that tub ooooh bout 14 yrs ago I was being impatient and wanted to use it.
The plumbing needed to be changed to bigger pipes for the faucet that goes to the tub.
So DH made me that makeshift mess just so I could use the tub right away and he got the plumbing done.
Guess since it worked I didn't need the new faucet cuz I'm still waiting and my fancy faucet is still in the box.
Guess it's true be careful what you wish for...got mine I can use the tub...LOL
Don't work to hard Moon you need to relax a little too. If you are wore out you won't be able to keep up with those little ones...
Time to go play with my little one..
Later Gypsies
Thanks I hope it works out too.
That mother is blaming herself for sending pictures that she thought would make him feel little closer to home ( he is really close to niece) and ended up getting him in jail.
Such a mess.
Here is my mural on the stairs. I loved it when I bought it and still love it today. They don't make it anymore I don't think so hope it outlasts me. LOL
Wow JJ those murels are awsome! Just beautiful, makes me want to put up more! That is so crazy about friends son, Who would think a simple picture of a little relative in a bikini would raise such a fuss? My heart goes out to them, let us know how that plays out. Getting supper for daughter and kids, just wanted to let ya know how much I loved your walls. Hi Smiley,Lynnie! Catch ya later.
That is so pretty JJ. I love eagles. I didn't even notice the faucet....grin. was so caught by the mural. I hear ya....DH works on the if it ain't broke why mess with it? premise also. I am very careful what I ask for....grin
Thanks Flowers.
Know what you mean I love to look at murals but seems if I find one I like the price is to high.
Enjoy visit with daughter and grands.
Off to watch more cartoons or play dinosaurs...
Hi folks. Thanks for the new thread Moonie. JJ, love your murals!
I read that about imzadi, hope everything works out ok. Bummer about the guy in Afghanistan, JJ. It should be a military issue, not Afghan.
Moon, got a copy of 'Follow That Bird' up there? Love that movie, I was looking for a copy of it, we lost ours.
Hiya Flowers!
Off to take DS shopping for some mew duds, he needs them. College student on his own doesn't have much money for clothes, it was his birthday present.
Catch you all later.
I will look and see if we do. Got boxes of all kinds up there....GS is "saving them for his children" translates to "I don't want to help sort...keep it all"
Have a good shopping trip, Smiley.
JJ...have fun, don't let T-Rex get ya.
Flowers...have a good visit with DD and family.
Back to work....later gypsy gators
Good evening ,everyone, hope you're all having a good Saturday.
JJ,that painting on the wall by your staircase is amazing.Was it painted by an artist?The wooden staircase is beautiful too:}
The green plants in the bathroom also look good.
Sad to read about Imzadi and the fire.Very glad that she and her daughter weren't hurt.
All the newspapers and TV news over here are describing the terrible events in Haiti...so upsetting to watch.
I had very good news yesterday,though.My elder son Sam's been accepted on a History degree course at the University of Hull,providing,of course,that he gets the necessary grades in his final school exams in May.If he does ,then he'll be going to University in October.Hull's a city about 70 miles East from here,so not too far away:}
Venice,your cat is so pretty and she looks so thoughtful :}
JJ,I have a box of Dinosaurs in my attick!!!
JJ, your swooping eagle is really cool on that wall! Just perfect for that wall. And all your bathroom 'plants' makes a nice garden to bathe.
Joy, congratulations to your son. That is nice he won't be too far away.
Joy congratulatons to your son.
Thanks Joy, staircase took hours to strip. someone had painted it dark brown.
That eagle is a wallpaper mural..not painted at all. Came in about 6 big pieces and goes up just like wallpaper.
The plants in the bathroom are wallpaper mural also. It was a thicker paper and did not go up as easy as the Eagle.
I think all little boys have dinosaurs at some point...grin... Now they walk and growl at you..
Venice I can sit in that tub for hours, but I have to watch that the steam doesn't build up or the paper wants to come loose...
Venice, thankyou,I admit, though, that I keep wondering how I'll feel when it actually gets near the time he goes away, even though I'm so very happy and proud for him:},he's still my "baby"
JJ,thanks.I really thought the mural was a painting on the wall, not wallpaper,it's brilliant and the plants. The staircase woodwork was well worth stripping,it looks great, can't believe why anyone would want to paint over it.
Joy, good on Sam! I know you are so proud of him. Of course you may have to get that driver's license now....grin. An hour away isn't too bad. You can make a day trip....but know how hard it is when they move away from the nest....grin. Your Will and my GS Jordan are the same age I think...Jordan turned 15 in September. We can commiserate when they graduate....grin. It will be the second round of empty nest syndrome for me.
trying to speed read posts...that soldier's family needs to go straight to their Senator and get him help! That burns my bottom! That kid is too young, he should have been apprised of what people can send & what they can't , don't they use censors anymore??
Love the murals JJ.
Joy congratulations on Sam's success! :) It will be hard at first I'm sure.
Venice glad we got kitty looking out for us :) gypsies need a watch cat.
Hi Smiley! Hi Moon! I'm going to start demo soon! :)
Flowers what are you up to? You have been very quiet.
shoot Moon we'll come for community coffee and some pie or something ;)
Lynnie,Moon,thanks.
Moon,Jordan's a bit older,Will's not 15 until 1st july this year.But they're probably at the same stage in their schooling,so will finish school at same time.Time'll pass quickly though ,no doubt about it.Doesn't seem long since Sam was in Infant School:}
Here, the weather's turned warmer,38f forecast for my part of the world tomorrow,plus sunshine:}I'll believe it when I see it:}
Hope you all have a good evening, nothing on TV,according to DH.
Take care everyone
Joy
Enjoy having hubby home....know he heads out again next week. You become Holder of the remote again.....grin Have a sweet night...Moon
Hi Joy! Congratulate Sam for us, that indeed is a great honor to be accepted to a nice college and especially that close to home. Does a mom proud! My oldest daughter just got her bachelors degree in business a couple of years ago and it has really boosted her career as the field is wide open as to how she can pursue different aspects of lots of businesses. She has chosen a medical type environment with a group of anethesioligists, and is executive director for them. Unlike her mom, she can spell too LOL. Nice you and Moon can swap Hankies when Will and Jordan leave the nest :-) Hi Lynnie, just hanging out girl, I see your still eating. You would be proud, I made Spinach and Feta Cheese Pierogies with supper.( whisper whisper, JJ they were easy, just followed directions on box lol). Take care all and have a Great Sunday!
made a mistake, she is "Executive Administrator". Thats it! Heat pump is being cut off. Got electric bill for 272.00 for one month. I'm in shock!
LOL Flowers.
I was having a conversation about anesthesiologists with Lynn earlier. You must have been email dropping.
Glad they were easy to make Flowers but SURPRISE don't eat spinach or feta cheese.
I am sure Lynnie will be by with a bottle of wine to get some though.
Good to know you were thinking of me. :)
You have a Great Sunday too..
Does everything at your house run on electric?
I thought a heat pump slupplemental heat was suppose to be cheaper than only a electric furnace.
mostly JJ, but spend around 60 a month on gas for logs and use those mostly all day to heat with. My bill is never over 125 a month in coldest weather, thats just crazy.
Ok, who is the sports fan here? Indi Colts are playing the Baltimore Ravens starting in a few minutes. I think we are relying on Peyton Manning to win but Baltimore has strong defense. The game should be interesting.
Yours is not a goethermal heat pump is it?
I know the air source heat pumps are not as efficient when it gets rally cold.
Maybe with all the snow and cold it has been working overtime to keep ice from building up on it.
Maybe if it is so far off you should have the meter checked.
The info in these links gets a little complicated. But here is what I found. And yes, there are different types of heat pumps.
"Some air-source heat pumps do not work as well when temperatures fall below around −5 °C (23 °F)."
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heat_pump
http://www.energysavers.gov/your_home/space_heating_cooling/index.cfm/mytopic=12610
Those Baltimore guys are really hardy!!
no not a goethermal JJ, just a high priced piece of crap LOL. Thanks Venice, links were helpful. Ok I'll vote for Colts just for fun of it, as I am not familuar with either. Let me know who wins. Gonna shut her down now and will catch yall in a day or two. Stay warm but don't go broke doing it :-)
Hi Everyone!
Geesh, i am so behind...
The family is watching some gory flick...yuck and eee
So thought I come see whos'all in the camp...
Oh, JJ...I love your stairwell!! We collect eagles and your Wall paper just blows me away.
We have a good friend who has a mural over her fireplace and its an Eagle soaring...It's material! One would thing it was painted too.
Good Morning Gypsies. Everyone must be sleeping in....got the coffee on and a continental breakfast...muffins, donuts, bagels and lots of fruit...melon, oranges, strawberries and grapefruit. Ham, bacon and sausage in the warming tray....juice in the fridge. All here whenever you wander in.
Hey Judy....sorry I missed ya. Hope all is well with you guys. Come hang out with us again soon.
Morning Moon.
Sounds like quite a feast....be right there.
Thanks Seed...how have you been?
