Best/Worse & What did I learn today..visit with friends

Victoria Harbour, ON

Glad you are keeping track Bev...bottom of my screen says -1..brrrr feels warmer though with the sun shinning through the door...

Hot soaking bath for you Mary tonight - best way to unwind..lordy girl you've been on a shopping spree..what kind of tree did you purchase...I'm excited to see how many of 16 trees I bought survive the winter? bet my neighbor is hoping NONE!!!! mostly were flowering trees, he's not a lover of trees and some are my side of the property line...when trees are full of leave you can't see neighbors on any of the other sides, makes me feel in a world all my own...the bushland behind me is full of trilliums - pink and white..they are Ontario's flower emblem...beautiful in the spring...

Somerset, KY(Zone 6b)

Sorry, I bought a tree saw. I need to trim the maple trees on this property.

And I just received a new catalog. Its from Plant Delights Nursery, Inc. at the Juniper Level Botanic Gardens. I'm going thru it carefully. They have some great plants in it. They have 2 full pages of Hostas. There is about 66 listed on each page. Never knew there were so many Hostas. They even have a deer resistant snapdragon from Spain.

I'm only on page 20 and I'm drooling.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

LOL I can't read those catalogs, I want everything and can't afford anything right now, just trying to save money here. Ug

Betty I know what you mean! I would love to give Dave what he wishes and send him off to California for a couple weeks and bring her up there when she got out of pain, but it seems is that's going to be awhile and can't do it right now anyway, need the income first. Oh well, hope everyone is having a great day!!

I know what you mean about waiting for Spring, of course I'm at work every day so ppttthhhh

Victoria Harbour, ON

Mary, my downfall is going on lunch to the Garden Gallery, one of the largest nursery and decorative store for my region...to die for...they've designs done in back greenhouse area for ponds, landscaping etc. sooo I can and do get into mega trouble ... I've a large pond but am thinking of doing a 2nd one just slightly lower inground than the original, that way I can create a nice waterfall flow...so my mind is ticking for spring like weather...

Crissy, be creative, much can be done with minimal $$$...i.e. little pond can be dug, either a plastic tote can be used for liner or even a tarp can be used...your time and moving some of your plants can create a great place to visit...

I've washed all the material I need for quilt blocks, got my patterns out and hopefully by tonight most of my 'to do' projects will be done...might even get ahead of the game...cross your fingers...Barb, am hoping I'll not have one of your 'everything I sew and cut turns out yukky'...

Did one of those sweatshirts where you have the quilted look in front, sat there for forever, this morning I sat and cut out the sweatshirt from the design..who knows, might get it done and ready to wear...

Must not sit for any length of time or my energy level will be used up for NOT!!!!

What do you all have planned for today...it's a bitter cold day so inside it will be for me all weekend...

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning Betty, not much planned for today. I am going to take Dad later to the barber, and get him a haircut. He does like going to a salon.
That quilted sweatshirt sounds pretty. Is it a sweatshirt you quilt, or is is fabric you quilt, then make a shirt? Love the sound of the waterfall effect, but that is a lot of work, so make sure you get help when your doing it!
Hey Crissy, check this site out, maybe something for hubby to find? You can change the location at the top of the page.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Betty I used to wear those kinds of sweatshirts all the time, now that I actually have to dress up for work I wear sweaters.

Help!! Betty my financial situation isn't too bad but it did just get worse:

Since Dave got laid off I've had to start up my health insurance with the State, Oh My it drops my paychecks from $770 biweekly down to $590 biweekly, they're taking $187.00 out of my paychecks just for me and Dave, and they don't include Dental insurance, if you want Dental coverage you have to go get it on your own! I am so fit to be tied about this, I think I was bringing home more before I got that $2.50 raise! I don't know what to do, Dave says there's nothing I can do, we know the State doesn't cover crap when it comes to benefits, but I plan on being there until I'm 60 something, and my boss is doing what he says he's going to do (which is extremely hard to find) so I should just calm down and ride the waves with everyone else. I just want to sit and cry.

Look what's on the front headlines of accuweather! I think I'll be ducking today!

Severe Storm Threat for Little Rock, Surrounding Areas:
Severe storms will ignite later today from southern Missouri to northeastern Texas as a powerful storm rolls across the south-central Plains. The storms will spread farther south and east toward the central Gulf states overnight.

Little Rock and Shreveport, La., will both be in the path of storms by the late afternoon and evening hours today.

Threats with the storms will be damaging winds in excess of 60 mph, hail and even a few isolated tornadoes. Minor structural damage to homes and businesses will be possible on top of the potential for scattered power outages. Downed trees and branches could also be strewn across some neighborhoods.

Heavy downpours from the storms could not only slow traffic, but could also lead to localized flash flooding.

LK thank you for the link, I've saved it to my favorites. Hope you and your dad have a good time today getting his hair done!

Hope you are all safe from the storms..you've your shelter Crissy filled with necessities I hope!!!

Wow, we Canadians just don't know how lucky we are not to have to pay coverage..I've just had a stay in hospital, been to 2 doctors' appts, testing etc. and have no coverage and don't need to pay any $$$$..thank goodness for that or there would go my craft $$$...lol...

I've got the front door open and beaming through the front door is mega sunshine...cold/cold but sure is nice to see the sun filter through..

Wasn't going to get dressed today, wanted to stay in jammied and enjoy a day of sewing..

Got a call from Kyle and Noah, they just arrived home after a 3 hr. drive to pick up another goldendoodle pup..chocolate variety..harder to find...

Melanie was at Curves and Greg was just relaxing, he just got back from Winnipeg installing hospital equipment, tired but still plans to go snowmobiling but all were having fun with new puppy..think they are calling him NED....

It's almost the Toronto snowmobile Show where you order next years' model, at Christmas Melanie said Greg wouldn't be ordering one because there was no chocolate puppy under the tree...guess he was getting nervous, gets a new snowmobile every year..lol..soooo a chocolate puppy they have...he was smilling, said he was excited about ordering his new machine...

Here's grandma (excuse the hairdo, just got out from a bath and hair still wet - kids kept saying 'come on grandma, come right away') playing with Ned..

Sophie is a bit jealous ...

Although Greg goes on and on and on, lordy he's like his dad, he's going to be Ned's best friend...

Awe Betty, Ned is so cute, bet he will be happy with the kids?

Victoria Harbour, ON

Boys were trying to convince me to get one of the same litter but couldn't do it...no more dogs once Sailor's gone..ties you down too much, kitties I could leave for a few days but a dog, need house sitter...nope, as much fun as it would be no thank you...lol

And yes, between Greg/Mel and the boys, Ned will be one spoilt puppy, just not so sure Sophie is excited about her new brother...

Glenview, IL

Happy Saturday Morning!

I have been a busy bee! I now have 6 of 11 towels complete...woohoo, working on the 7th.
Liz, got to tell you, the more I work on these the more I really like them. LOL, I just hope my Kitchen towel swappers like them as well.

Betty and anyone not in the swap, Sorry Barb, who would like a sneak peak, Let me know, Will be happy to D-mail you a picture.
Finally got a chance to take a photo! lol, it wasn't that batteries died or anything, lol it was finding a place to put the item to take the pic!
But got a brainstorm and tadah, Photo taken.

Bev, so nice to see you. Ahh yes, I too have been dreaming and thinking Spring...giggling at your countdown.
Great to see your blooms again.

Betty, OMG what an adorable puppy! love his color...Oh and I am just ear to ear smiling at your quilt. You did an incredible job!
Guess who is SO smiling for another great reason! We received our Passports in the Mail on Thursday...Whew, it only took a couple of weeks and now we can relax about that....And I am equally pleased to say, I am who I am...Judy L...!!!

Crissy, I am glad your Folks got to where they were suppose to get to safely. Uhm, I was a bit confused on the weather, but just glad They are safe.

Linda Kay, Glad you also had a safe trip with Dad. How beautiful that you all take turns for his care. I am sure you will slip into a good routine. And I am glad that he has a good sense of humor, so cute his little tease to you on taking meds...

Debbie, Happy 20th Anniversary!! I hope you and DH had a wonderful day. With all that the two of you have been thru, May your love for eachother continue on for another 20 and more. My honey and i are having our 25th in April...

Mary, LOLOL...I was stupid at not knowing what the initials were for WDW and that other one, lol...brain shut down on everything but how to assemble my project! Soo, were you able to find some cool stuff to plan? Going to have breakfast with Mickey?
Wow, already 6 months on the job! Very cool, and now I will keep in my prayers you continue to do so well and get more accounts.

Well, I have been looking harder to find a job, LOL...this new pizza place is accepting apps. lol I think i'll go and fill one out, I need, need to get out of this house. I love being here, but then I go no where except run for the kid pickups and drop offs, and i just keep cleaning and trying to get this place in order, a never ever ending story...I have enjoyed most of it but it is now old, at least until Spring, then i'll want to be home again and go no where but my gardens...OH, Raccoon alert!! Had one that scared me to death. I had made these cool little bird seed cups and forgot to put them in the shed..Rocky raccoon found them on the the table on the deck and was having a smorgeshborg. Un-be-knowenst to me, open the door and he literally leaps off the table, I slam the door shut and we continue to stare in shock at each other! lol And the deer have eaten both my brand new Arbor Vitae Shrubs, so i will look for something different for the front.

Barb, Sure hope you get those other projects done...Can you share? it will be nice to work on something for yourself.

So today we are going to BBQ! It's cold but MIL and family are coming for a birthday Lunch. MIL's birthday was the 21. Can't afford to go out to dinner this year so she made a "special" request for home. To my delightful surprise, she specifically asked for Judy burgers! Believe me that is a true compliment.

So, got to jot down the ingredients so Steve can go shopping....I've got to clean up kitchen again...Then later work on towels again, They are alot of work, but i sure am having a ball and the best part, i was forced into organizing my material so I Can find what was needed for each towel..How cool it was to have nice pieces and use up some scraps. Didn't realize just how much I had!

Well coffee is on...I need to upload my pics. Liz, Will d-mail you a pic right away! Thank you Thank You for such a neat idea!

Enjoy the day, Sending smiles to all.

Glenview, IL

Oh...While post pics of my project to Liz...
Came across a cute one of My babies snuggling up!

This was the other night, when we don't have a fire going it gets mighty chilly in sun porch.
So we have throws all over the place to warm up.

Skittles was staying very close again...She literally knocked herself silly into a wall.
Taking flight like a bat out $%^&*^ Hit the wall so hard, she lost feathers!
Anyway after incidents like that she prefers to stay very close and get all the loving she can.

LOL, she is back to her normal self once again...Flying about.

Thumbnail by Seedtosser1
Victoria Harbour, ON

OMG Judy, Skittles is accident prone, best you clip her feathers...thanks for the preview of your current project..girls if you aren't on Judy's swap, I'd d-mail her and she'll share the photo..our Judy has been a busy girl..enjoy the birthday celebration at your MIL's...Steve's a great cook, so know the food will be excellent...

sure hope you all get the jobs you are looking for..sending prayers that you'll soon be employed, hope it's a job like mine so you can still play on DG as much as you want..lol..

It's been quite a day, first I got sidetracked over to see NED, then Aunt Muriel called, said she'd drop in on her way to town, wanted to see how I was feeling, soooo 2 1/2 hours later she was on her way..

Most of the time we spent looking at the rose book that Laura from Australia sent me for my birthday a few years ago..we oooh and ahhh'd all the way through it..got some ideas as to what to look for come spring..

Then a few of the girls up the street came for coffee which was nice but I didn't get my January block completely done..was going to finish it tonight but think I'll take a bath, put some of the squares I've been doing for my afghan together, watch a movie and call it a day...didn't do anything to be tired but can't keep my eyes open...

You can feel the temps falling quickly, just had to turn up the heat ..maybe my bath will make me toasty...

Enjoy your evening...

Pacifica, CA

still putting the wal-mart groceries away thanks for keeping me company on the road.
we had to stop at my moms real quick she said your crazy to drive all the way to gilroy to go shopping! guess when you think of it 120 miles round trip to go grocery shopping is a bit goofy lol

Betty that granny square pattern is beautiful makes me want to start that up again.
awww that puppy is just adorable!
gawd your so luck not to have to pay insurance kenny's kaiser medical went up to 495.00 a month that's a killer but what can you do got to have it.
had to laugh on the way to store we saw a small path of snow on the top of the mountain then heard way up north tornado warning omg this i so bizarre for California had rain for a week straight im ready to build a boat! lol
well got to g finish putting things away
hello everyone else
have a good rest of the evening

Rosamond, CA(Zone 8b)

Marti I sent a SASE off to you today. Funny to see you here. I was one of the originals here, but I get lost too easy, this is a one thread only thread, it moves so fast.

I feel bad for everyone it seems that many of you have sick family or are sick. It has been a bad year for illness. Ya know that it is true that stress destroys the immune system, if the year 2009 isn't a testimony to that, I don't know what is. I myself have had one flu after another and seems to be some new thing about every 6 weeks. I need a job.

I want you to please pray for me. I have been called to an interview and test on the 2nd. I need to study up on my Excel, Word and Power Point and practice typing etc. But it is a great opportunity if I get any of the three positions. One is entry level, which is probably more fitting for me, the other is an ON CALL type secretarial position (but I could still have my unemployment) and the other is a position beyond my experience, all in Acquisitions for NASA, which is where I got laid off from. This is a different contractor that I have been applying for, for 3 years, so please pray for me and pray a calm spirit overcomes me too. Please.

I know, in light of big issues like Tubby and some of the other illnesses that this is small in stature but I know you will do it for me and it will help bring me calm. Sometimes that is all we really need the most is a sense of peace during the storm. Peace is the hardest thing to attain during trials and it is the single most important gift to receive.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Oh Dawn, I can only imagine how hard the last year has been for you...perhaps the jobs you've undertaken in the past while are going to bring the experience you'll need for the interview on the 2nd. add in your bubbly disposition and I'm sure they will see your value...interview isn't far away, don't fret and get yourself into a tizzy...we're here praying for your needs...and remember if it's a concern to you then it's no trivial thing!!! I sure do agree with you, wanting so badly to work and not is stressful...much comes with stress...sure hope the economy improves quickly so all who want to be working will have the opportunity to do so...

Imagine, it's just after 7am - I've been up since 5:10..got another row done on MY afghan, just waiting for daylight to come downstairs and finish quilt block, organize another little off room then the day is my own...

Wouldn't you know that I had planned to stay in jammies all weekend and not do much, didn't go according to plan yesterday now it looks like it might change today..lol..looked at last night's paper while having coffee this morning..big sale at Fabricland..says 75% off..how can I resist taking a run into town this afternoon..they don't open until noon ..think I'll be there for when they turn the key..lol

Hope you are all ok....
Enjoy the day...

Liz, you sure created a crafter out of Judy..lordy she's worked so hard on her project, the girls will absolutely love her creations..
The thing about travelling 120 miles round trip for groceries is that it's a day out for you and Kenny, time to spend quality time while shopping in your favorite stores...remind Kenny that Judy and Steve are now proud holders of 'passports' lol...time to look into getting yours...hint/hint

Did I tell you Liz that Bernie and Charlene are going the California in I believe March..San Francisco, going to do Napa Valley etc. - because she gets rooms at major hotels for $15. night because she is employed by a major hotel/resort here and they are affiliated...after all they've been through for 3 years they need a trip away....are trying to talk me into going with them..taking daughter who is 17 and said I could bunk in with her..something to consider right?

Pacifica, CA

ummmmmmm no! you can bunk with us lol
yep Judy got it in her she created beauties for her swap!
no it only took us almost a hour each way, but it was the two hours in between lol
nope not this year we cant take any trips, but always next year.
gawd my mom got the court date for conservator ship on my granny on Feb 23, i got a letter too stating that my mom is applying and you should hear the evil ones saying my mom is incompetent of taking care of her, but my mom has the police reports on them i think my mom has a better chance than they do.
cross your fingers....
well off to visit in-laws hope she don't pile a bunch of stuff on us I'll just get in trouble for taking it lol

Victoria Harbour, ON

Take the tools Liz/take the tools...you can probably sweet talk Kenny into taking them home...

Woopie, finished the January block and if I ship priority just maybe it will be there 'on time'..should really start the February block, we'll see after my trip to town...

Even got the sweatshirt material cut out of the sewn design, tidious but looks good, a few stitches and I can wear it tomorrow..

I get soooo sidetracked..cleaning and organizing laundry room each time I go put a load of clothes in the dryer, well in one corner there sits a little footstool that I must have bought at a garage sale, then in one of the drawers was upholstery material most likely enough to do an entire chair but I could cut a piece couldn't I..colors match the side chair so all I'd have to purchase if the braid to hide the staples...what do you think...Feb. block can wait till later right...

It's either do the footstool or iron clothes..so I'm almost positive you know which I shall pick!!

Thumbnail by Bettypauze
(thunder)Wildwood, FL(Zone 9a)

that is just adorable!! do the foot stool..........Feb. block can wait.....I can say that cause Feb is mine ^_^ LOL

Victoria Harbour, ON

Just running into town, thought I'd sit for a sec....
Noticed that Whitewidower posted on our last thread about a fall..lordy that could have been tragic..bet he's got himself a headache...

Thumbnail by Bettypauze
Victoria Harbour, ON

OK Mary, did the footstool, now what? lol

OMG can't believe how many people are in town, everyone getting spring fever I'm sure...

No sooner got home that Diane called, she and Paul are cooking up a storm and want me to come for supper...I'd just as soon stay home, comfy and all but at some point you got to accept invitations so off for supper I'll go in just about 2hrs....until then not sure what I'll get into...

Plaid and color is a good mixture..all and all I think this project cost me $2.00

Thumbnail by Bettypauze
Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

LOL Betty you just can't sit still for a minute, as hard as you try.

Well I waited too long to eat, now I have a headache so I'm going to go see what I can get into to make it go away.

Oh! I've got to go outside and get some pictures of that cement we did so ya'll can see it better!

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Judy, Judy, Judy - you did it didn't you???? You sent a towel picture to Betty and now I'm sitting here just dying to see it too. I'll get you my pretty ---- I'll send Betty a picture of the one I'm doing too!!!!! Mine will be different from the ones I've been getting as I don't have an embroidery machine but, Lord, can I piece up a storm... That's the only hint you'll get....Hee, hee.
Betty, the footstool came out really nice. I had to chuckle though when I noticed the thread catcher and the arm chair holder!!
I'm glad to hear Bernie and Charlene are going to have some relax time. It's been a long time for them..
Saying hello to everyone, hope all ill are feeling better and that all healthy stay that way.
Off to watch the figure skating. Talk to you later......

Victoria Harbour, ON

Barb, she did indeed send me a photo, are you in for a treat!!! can't give hints..look forward to your photo...must be overwhelming to have to send out so many at once, guess if you didn't wait until the day before it would be ok..lol..

Yep, thread catcher and arm chair pincushion and holder both in use..with all the wool ends it's nice to have, no mess when using them..yesterday while visiting at Greg's, Melanie had both hers on the couch, she's making jammies and loungers for the boys so it's nice to see she's making use of some of her Christmas gifts..

Barb, you would have loved being at Diane's tonight, not just for the supper, roast beef and the trimmings, but she's working and almost finished a quilt for her DIL, it's wolves, got the kit sent to her from USA...stunning..then she's got flannel square done in design - making 3 large panels then will cut a jacket out of it..flannel is jean type colors..quite the sewer..had a wonderful visit..just got in and omg it's almost time for bed...

Crissy, when I say I'm resting, it means I'm not shovelling/digging/doing woodworking etc. - sitting on the chesterfield doing crochet afghans and sewing is NOT work..

Victoria Harbour, ON

LindaKay, did finish the sweatshirt..

Thumbnail by Bettypauze
Victoria Harbour, ON

Think I've matched the decor colors in my bedroom with that of the wool for my afghan..guessing by next weekend I'll be able to cuddle in it..

Thumbnail by Bettypauze
Somerset, KY(Zone 6b)

Best I learned today: Its nice to see 14 year old nephew leave after 3 day visit.
Worse I learned today: After a 3 day visit, I can't handle hyper teenager.
It sound terrible but I've gotten to the point that I can't put up with kids anymore.
Esp ones that are not raised to have alot of respect for other people. I do enjoy him coming down for a visit if I can keep him busy and out of trouble, but I have gotten used to being alone and am having trouble adjusting to living with someone again (my sister). Much less dealing with her grandkids.

Baton Rouge, LA

Will Pop Back up Later....

But just wanted you all know how crazy Louisiana is right now...

Folks are all outside lighting fireworks...Bourbon Street is on TV...it's Packed.

I hope everyone is okay...and no one goes crazy with celebration...but the

Saints won tonight! I am a fan "by marriage" and DH is unbelievably happy...

Hugs,
Mary

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

GO SAINTS!

Betty, that sweatshirt is very pretty! You appliqued the design down the front? And the colors in your afghan, is so close to matching your colors, you can't get any closer than that! It will be so nice to cuddle in when finished. Nice job! And I can't believe you still iron clothes. I don't know anyone that still irons! Whitewidower, please be careful, I do hope the injuries are not too serious!
Judy, sounds like you have been very busy, hope you find a job your looking for?
Crissy, waiting to see the concrete you have been working on. That is one tough job! Don't over do it!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning, pouring rain here, Greg won't be a happy snowmobiler..lol..

Linda Kay, no not applique'd..put the material under the sweatshirt, sewed a design and then cut the sweatshirt away so I could see the material..I still iron everything LindaKay, helps with having a Europro..gives it professional crease, doesn't take long if you keep on top of it..how's dad doing?

Mary, had din/din with Diane and Paul last night, just as I was leaving he had the game on...wow, talk about a packed stadium..can imagine the hoople...

Whitewidower, hope this morning you are back to your old self....got to watch those high beds...

Off for breakfast and then to the Barrie Post Office..have a quilt block to ship out..

(thunder)Wildwood, FL(Zone 9a)

Betty, those colors in your afghan are perfect!!, and both sweatshirt / jackets are great !!

Hope everyone has a great day, Hugs and good health to all.

I've

Received
from a friend who is in the property insurance
business. It is well worth reading.

This
is one of those e-mails that if you don't send
it, rest assured someone on your list will
suffer for not reading it. The original message
was written by a lady whose brother and wife
learned a hard lesson this past

week.

Their house burnt down! .. nothing
left but ashes. They have good insurance so the
house will be replaced and most of the contents.
That is the good news.

However, they were
sick when they found out the cause of the fire.

The insurance investigator sifted through the
ashes for several hours. He had the cause of the
fire traced to the master bathroom. He asked her
sister-in-law what she had plugged
in

the
bathroom. She listed the normal
things.....curling iron, blow dryer.
He kept
saying to her, 'No, this would be something
that would disintegrate at high temperatures'.
Then her sister-in-law

remembered
she had a Glade
Plug-In,

in the bathroom.

The
investigator had one of those 'Aha' moments. He
said that was the cause of the fire.
He said
he has seen more house fires started with the
plug-in type room fresheners than anything else.

He said the plastic they are made from is
THIN.
He also said that in every case there!
was nothing left to prove that it even existed.

When
the investigator looked in the wall plug, the
two prongs left from the plug-in were still in
there.

Her
sister-in-law had one of the

plug-ins
that had a small night light built in it.

She
said she had noticed that the light would dim
and then finally go out.
She would walk in
to the bathroom a few hours later, and the light
would be back on again.
The investigator
said that the unit was getting too hot, and

! would dim and go out rather than just blow the
light bulb. Once it cooled down it would come
back on.

That
is a warning sign.

The
investigator said he personally wouldn't have

any type of plug in fragrance device anywhere in
his house. He has seen too many places that have
been burned down due to them.

PLEASE PASS
THIS ON TO ALL THE

IN YOUR ADDRESS BOOK.

NOT ONLY COULD IT
SAVE SOMEONE'S HOUSE,

BUT
IT COULD SAVE SOMEONE'S LIFE

two prongs left from the plug-in were still in
there.

Her
sister-in-law had one of the

plug-ins
that had a small night light built in it.

She
said she had noticed that the light would dim
and then finally go out.
She would walk in
to the bathroom a few hours later, and the light
would be back on again.
The investigator
said that the unit was getting too hot, and

! would dim and go out rather than just blow the
light bulb. Once it cooled down it would come
back on.

That
is a warning sign.

The
investigator said he personally wouldn't have

any type of plug in fragrance device anywhere in
his house. He has seen too many places that have
been burned down due to them.

PLEASE PASS
THIS ON TO ALL THE

PEOPLE
IN YOUR ADDRESS BOOK.

NOT ONLY COULD IT
SAVE SOMEONE'S HOUSE,

BUT
IT COULD SAVE SOMEONE'S LIFE

Please pass this one

along to your family and
friends.

I've
never heard this info before...

Received
from a friend who is in the property insurance
business. It is well worth reading.

This
is one of those e-mails that if you don't send
it, rest assured someone on your list will
suffer for not reading it. The original message
was written by a lady whose brother and wife
learned a hard lesson this past

week.

Their house burnt down! .. nothing
left but ashes. They have good insurance so the
house will be replaced and most of the contents.
That is the good news.

However, they were
sick when they found out the cause of the fire.

The insurance investigator sifted through the
ashes for several hours. He had the cause of the
fire traced to the master bathroom. He asked her
sister-in-law what she had plugged
in

the
bathroom. She listed the normal
things.....curling iron, blow dryer.
He kept
saying to her, 'No, this would be something
that would disintegrate at high temperatures'.
Then her sister-in-law

remembered
she had a Glade
Plug-In,

in the bathroom.

The
investigator had one of those 'Aha' moments. He
said that was the cause of the fire.
He said
he has seen more house fires started with the
plug-in type room fresheners than anything else.

He said the plastic they are made from is
THIN.
He also said that in every case there!
was nothing left to prove that it even existed.

Guess I'd better unplug the ones I have in all the rooms....

Morning Betty, thanks for the warning. I will pass it along in emails.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Crissy, you really are a 'country' gal...lot's of land you have there! Well your mailperson will have trouble digging that area up..that was a lot of hand mixing...glad your favorite team won yesterday's game....lot's of hoopla in New Orleans...my favorite place to visit...was telling Diane and Paul last night I'd love to go back not so much for New Orleans but to do cemeteries and the bayou..

Passing Bernie's this morning I saw him at the end of his driveway helping some poor young one get his car started..came over and we had a gab session..men are coming to paint the upstairs starting today..he's going full force to bring the house back into shape since the fire...told him I'd been thinking, now he knows what that means...I'm getting ready to list my B&B on the region B&B site, anyway, the back bedroom deck after much thought should have a staircase...1 for fire purposes and 2nd. if someone would like to walk the grounds early in the a.m. they wouldn't have to tramp through the house and wake anyone sooo he's promised 1st signs of spring he'll come over and do another landing and stairs for me...aren't brothers grand!
