Hope all is going well with the tests Betty....I may be on and off for awhile my internet wireless devise is dead and connecting with my neighbor's wifi is iffy....sometimes its a great connection sometimes not at all.....so until payday I will pop in when I can get a connection.
Will be in Seattle tomorrow...Laura has five hours of training for her new job...guess I will drink a lot of tea and get a lot of needle work done.
The cold is getting better but still not feeling 100%
Tubby, Good to see you here and glad you are feeling better!
Everyone have a good night.
Best/Worse & What did I learn today..visit with friends
Betty I have no idea. If she gets out of pain from this she says she's coming here, I just hope she doesn't come when my dad and his girlfriend will be here, I only have one spare bedroom and I don't think they all want to sleep in the same queen size bed together LOL
Trisha hope to see you again soon!! Yay for Laura!! I would love to visit Seattle, I have it pictured as a very neat city.
Seattle is a wonderful city, as Cities go. It is high on the list of good places to live.....but, I like to visit, wouldn't want to live there....I have lived in enough big cities and I am perfectly happy with our little town.
Have a good night.
Hello To All;
Betty - The DR. appt sounds VERY HIgh-Tech...seeing patterns of the heart & all.. Wow...
LK - Well - I guess I will have to learn patience.....
Trisha - I have 2 DSD's who would LOVE to come visit Seattle and WA....I guess you have tourists galore since the "Twilight" sagas!
Crissy - My thoughts & prayers for your dear Mom.... "Hovering Husbands" ...got a laugh out of that....DH likes to walk by and peer at my screen and he knows it BOTHERS me to all ends....
Hugs to those I've missed...but I'm SO tired... Headed to bed....

Morning everyone!
Hope you all had a good nights sleep, and waking up feeling good!
Morning taters, I've been up and down with my back hurting all night. The plumber is due here anytime now to put our new water heater in and than as soon as it's heated water, I'm getting in the shower. We're putting in a 40 or 50 gallon heater. OH YA!!!!!
Nothing like hot water...lol...when Roger and I first moved to the lake he continued working in the city and I stayed up north with 2 little ones, going through a winter to see if I could hack living in a little community..water froze shortly after winter started..so no water/no plumbing...I would go out, hole in the lake and carry pails of water inside, boil so the kids and I could wash..omg..almost forgot that..didn't seem a problem at the time but now that I think back at that task, wow, must say it didn't scare me off, lived there till a few years after his death...
marvellous experience for the kids living on Georgian Bay...
Got to tell you all what a fantastic morning I've had...
Did you ever feel as though you are in a different dimension, different world, one only you are in...
It was soooo cold, bitter cold, icy cold this morning..cold right? lol..I decided to take the back concession, it had snowed lightly last night, powder snow, along the road and into the fields is dogwood, small bushes, trees ladden with snow, each branch frozen, sun just coming up bright as can be...all along the road it was like zillions of diamonds shinning, in a lot of cases the sun of the frozen tree and light snow made it look like mother nature had christmas lights on each and every branch...it was so breathtaking that I actually stopped and enjoyed my coffee looking at the beauty...a winter wonderland for sure...what I wouldn't have given to have had my camera with me....
I continued on my way, listened to the news and heard that it was National Hug day...did my morning stop at Tim Hortons, coffee and soup for lunch and there standing outside an elderly gentleman, knew he was friendly because as I pulled up he gave me a big smile...so as I entered I hugged him, the look on his face was priceless, said 'happy hug day to you my friend' and walked into Tim Hortons Coffee shop, he wasn't there when I came out, probably either terrified or off to hug someone..
Just had clients in the office, knew they were feeling low so started my antics ...when Paul came out of the office to get them for the appt. they were laughing away...
So that's my morning so far...
After all of that I forgot to send you all 'hugs'
Sending ((((((((((((((((((((((((((BIG HUGS)))))))))))))))))))))) right b ack to you Betty, and everyone else!
Sounds like it was so pretty out this morning. God sure can paint beautiful pictures for us!
I found you! Welcome back, Tubby! I'm sooo glad you're home!
We're in for more sub freezing weather next week. 61* today and overcast. It has rained big time! Lots of thunder and lightening last night!
Later, Dudes!
Doe
Glad to be back
Tubby
Hey Audrey, how are you and your daughter doing?
LOL Mary, one time Dave walked in and was reading what I was typing, I quickly changed tabs and he asked, "What??" I said, "I'm talking about you behind your back so you can't look." He laughed and walked out of the room.
My mom is something else. She gets so depressed over nothing and can't focus on anything but the negative side of things, and when she does that I can't tell if that's the way she really feels or if she's going through this mental crisis that doesn't exist.
We had lots of thunder and lightning last night too, most of it was between 10 and midnight, but then we had another dose between 2:15 and 2:30.
I hope everyone in the area where the tornadoes were is safe and sound. I heard there was an unconfirmed tornado at the Shreveport/Bossier City city line, that's where the casino's are at... I haven't had time to look for more information though.
I sure hope everyone is OK, if a tornado went through. I have not seen much of the tv today. Maybe I need to turn on the news.
Crissy, lordy your mom sounds a lot like mine...she called all hyped up, said my brother told her I wasn't well, that I had an episode as he called it at his house the other day, that I went to Dr.'s and hospital for tests, said I'd not TOLD her a thing about it and why..lordy, we spent Sat. afternoon at Aunt Muriel's party, told her everything..I know, I know, her memory isn't the best since her stroke last year...ended up saying I was sorry, will make sure I do so from now on..
mom's...
I can see Crissy Dave's face when you said you were talking about him behind his back...you do give him a run for his money don't you..lol..still not sure after looking at the photo what you were doing filling in the roadside???
Ohhh not good, tornadoes already, isn't it a bit early for them to be touching down, will have to listen to the newscast .. hope all are ok...
Audrey, how's the health issues? feeling better? you visited your daughter at christmas did you not...how is she doing? lots of questions....
Bev, how's Scotty today?
Linda Kay, is your dad settling in, are you crafting?
Trisha, sorry to hear about your computer difficulties, wow, lots of 'puter' illness...guess not just us have aches and pains...
Waiting for the results of our blood tests. Maybe tomorrow. BEV
Is he eating healthy foods or still giving you the what for and eating things he shouldn't? you are not in the path of tornadoes are you?
We cemented a section of the gutter in front of the mailbox and newspaper box. The road is breaking apart toward the top of the picture because the substitute mail lady we have peels out in the gravel and dirt as she's taking off from every mailbox, creating a deep hole, and it's gotten so bad the newspaper person won't put our newspaper in the box anymore, so we cemented it. I almost put up a sign that read, "Ms. Substitute Mail Lady: You can't peel out now, can ya!" LOL I'll take a better picture of it this weekend, my cell phone doesn't take very good pictures at all.
My mom just called, Lordy Lordy have Mercy. She called me so I can give her a weather report for Bristol TN and into Nashville, TN. I looked it up and told her that there's a tornado watch from Nashville west slightly into Arkansas and Missouri and told her that the air is very unstable as the low is spinning North East, and told her to just keep her radio on and pay attention to where they're at if there are any severe alerts that happen while they're driving they'll know about it. (of course she's riding in the back of the car looking at where they've been so she can't watch that.) She said that they haven't had their radio on all day as they've been driving through snow and ice coming out of the Shenandoah Valley. I told her that maybe they should have the radio on, it would be a good start. Iye yey yey.
Have mercy for sure Crissy...now that's an awfully long ride so soon after her operation..guess they want to hit warmer weather...
Off for my bath, din/din is ready and if I'm a good girl and do the 2 rows of edging to the afghan I can bring it to Suzanne in the morning..she mentioned she's hoping to do nothing this weekend except rest so wouldn't it be nice to get comfy in...
Going to leave 1 hr. earlier in the morning..few things I want to get done, sure do wish ALL the stores opened early so won't be a late night..
Best of today...sitting by the roadside, having coffee in God's land..what a site...
Worse of today...hate to say it, my niece who was going through terrible times with her boyfriend, well seems he's going to change and back together soon they'll be
What did I learn today...that regardless how smart some women are, they still can fall for a con job...or... no trust in themselves that they can DO IT alone...
Better not go into that story....lol
I just called my mom and told her there are tornado warnings and severe thunderstorm warnings all over the place west of Knoxville right now, mainly on I-40, and strongly advised them to stop in Knoxville for the night. She said they would. It's just not worth it, and Knoxville is 8 hours from Little Rock, and they said if the timing was good they want to have dinner with me tomorrow night, that would be perfect. Then Little Rock is 6 hours from their house, easy money there.
Oh no Betty, a tiger doesn't change his stripes. That's worrisome.
Yea, don't open Pandora's Box! LOL
Home I go!

Please read, Daves garden, has been bought out!
Betty, Dad is getting settled, in, then maybe I can get back to sewing and stuff. Hopefully next week?
Hugs to all - National Hug Day...
Wish I knew it this morning! LOVE your story...Betty... I will strive to be more like you...tomorrow and next week...stopping to look at Gods creations...and giving a hug to those in need....
HAHA Crissy - I've done that to DH before...I can't stand it when he stops and starts reading my screen!
I'll pop back in later...
Mary
Morning all,
Glad you mom/step father will play it safe Crissy..
Mary, you got to just take time to see the beauty of what's around you...asked all 3 girls in the office if they noticed anything on their way to work...all said 'yep, crazy drivers' ..just too busy to see what surrounds them...
It's a cold morning, no light snow so not sure if same view will be waiting for me this morning, taking my camera just incase..
LindaKay...you asked to see the afghan I finished in earth tones for Suzanne..here it is..
Bringing it in to her this morning, am sure she'll be pleased..just the fact that I sat all those hours making it will thrill her to no end!!!
Betty, that is just gorgeous !!
My Nana made stuff like that, I am very happy to say I still have a couple of them............she was a tremendous lady!! taught me to sew, and crochet.....I don't do crochet any more, but glad I know how...treasure the moments with her that I remember...
I am off to that lovely world we call "work" Hope y'all have a Great day
and even though it is not an official day............((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))) to each and every one of ya..........
Happy Stitchin'
thunder
Betty that came out just gorgeous.... She will be well pleased with it. I'm wondering if I use a smaller weight yarn if it would come out the same? I want to do the whole pattern but don't need it quite so big. What do you think?
Oh Betty, that is soooo pretty! I know she will love it!
Thanks for sharing.
How was your drive to work? Any pretty pictures?
Thanks Thunder...marvellous to be able to cherish heirloooms made by mom's and grannies .. too bad that work interferes with our play time...lol
Barb, would work, just use a smaller crochet hook - see label on the wool you choose...
Went and picked up some wool this morning before work to start mine..this had better be the last one of this pattern..4 is enough doing same old/same old but each looks different..bought a pattern for an knitted afghan - lots of cables and done in strips..that's ok because I can set up on knitting machine and won't take long to do
Barb did you ever do you thread catcher?
I left the house LindaKay at 7am..did some posting, ooops forgot last night..so your envelope is on it's way..because you've had to wait so long I included material (spools of threads design) in it..asked the girl how long and she said should be within the week...
Nope, sunrise hadn't happened yet and although I took my camera no pretty pictures...it's -6 but bright sky ..imagine they are calling for possible rain on Sunday..Greg won't be a happy camper...heard from Jeff, he's chosen a new style kayak for his summer 6 week trip around Georgian Bay..if I thought I was worried him doing the Trent I'll be frantic of him in Georgian Bay..grown up kids, still give you lots to worry about don't they!!!
Going to be a quiet day here, already I'm getting my wool out but before I do, going to see what Canadian Tire flyer looks like, always something I want..lol
Now that you know what I'm up to, what are you all doing?
Betty I don't know what to do with them. After I posted she called me back and told me that they were listening to the radio and they couldn't figure out what I was talking about because the radio hadn't said anything about tornadoes or severe thunderstorms, so they were driving on. I was so mad here I was taking time out of my busy day to watch the weather for them at their request then she tells me that I don't know what I'm talking about. She also said, and I quote, "Well if there happens to be a tornado on the ground and we end up driving through it at least we'll be safe in the car." WHAT?? I told her I'll take a building any day than a car, I don't know what goes through her head, mush I guess. I got home in a fizzy and Dave calmed me down and told me that they're going to do whatever and that I can't care at this point. He also reminded me that she seems to do her best to prove me wrong no matter what the situation is, call for advise then tell me I'm wrong, since I was a baby. They ended up spending the night in Crossville, TN, which is between Knoxville and Nashville, after driving for 12 hours, but they could have driven further! How unsafe to drive through severe weather at night after being behind the wheel for that long.
That is a gorgeous quilt!!!!!
I'm working, as usual pppttttthhhhhhh So glad it's Friday, even on a short week it sure did seem long!
LOL..omg (shanking my head here) who ever told her she'd be safer in her car?
Yep, I had time off Monday afternoon for my Dr. appt, had time off for Wedn. hospital tests, still looking at the clock hoping Paul will say go home early..highly unlikely..short day..Friday's off at 3:00..will pick up groceries, few things I need to entertain myself this weekend and then park the car and enjoy..
Our next holiday is Family Day..Feb.15th..same as your long weekend... can't come fast enough..
Hi Betty - no I haven't done the thread catcher yet. I have three committments that must get done before I can play again. Once those are done I'm going to take some time for me. I want to make another armchair holder too and this time remember to put the batting inside!!!!
No one told her she'd be safer in a car, she's just in a terrible hurry to get home for some reason and she's going to end up hurting herself trying to do it. She's not thinking clearly at all, and is drumming up this stuff that never happened, like the three of us in the mid '80's standing in front of The Hermitage and watching a mansion across the street get struck by lightning and burning to the ground, there was no mansion across the street or anywhere else in eyes view, except for The Hermitage itself.
Crissy, we just have to get our moms together..think of the tales they could spin...lol..
Barb, sounds as though you've got your days + all planned..much the same as I will..
Suzanne ordered pizza and wings, her treat for lunch, I ran up to the Knit and Quilting shop, picked up yellow fat quarter, think I've got everything now that I need for Jan/Feb. blocks...
Was on DIY site, saw a cute bench, storage underneath which can house 2 baskets and thought, perfect for basement door area, those who come in would have a place to sit so now I'm on another tangent..keep reminding myself that cutting wood = dust all over the house..will be interesting to see which project gets done
Must ask...????...are any of you feeling antsy? hard to settle in, could it be the aftermath of Christmas do you think?
Ya, pre spring disorder!!
then I'm not the only one wondering around not able to settle in...what are you both doing for it? would think both of you could be outside each day a bit?
I went shopping yesterday and bought a new 3 foot yard hydrant for the yard, a pair of lopping shears, a couple of pots for potting plants, 3 ferns, 3 trilliums, garden gloves, and a tree saw. The next week is surpose to be cloudy, but no rain. Now I can get busy cleaning up the yard and trimming bushes from the neighbors yard that hang over the fence.
Plus we got our new water heater installed yesterday, so all is well in my world today. Got a hot shower last night. First one in 30 days. Tried of bathing in a bucket of hot water.
