That looks interesting, do you think they'll have the full episodes on line?
That's Entertainment!!
Not sure.
I'm one of the people that enjoys more current movies (last 35 years) to the older ones. Not that I dislike the older ones but some of the speech patterns in older movies bother me. Especially when I hear "darrrlingg" too much. I do love Katerine Hepburn, but I don't think any actress can hold a candle to Meryll Streep. I defy anyone to watch Sophie's Choice without ending up in a puddle of tears. Actually an ocean of tears! Same for The Deer Hunter.
Robert DeNiro in Godfather II as the young Don Corleone. Ooh La La! George Clooney in anything..... or nothing :) I once read the George and Brad will do movies such as the Ocean movies to provide funding for movies that they really want to do, such as Syriana. I remember yelling at the TV at the end of that movie.
Deer Hunter and GF2 were all-time greats. Don't think much of Clooney as an actor. Pitt is pretty good. Streep is certainly great. Kramer vs. Kramer was very good. Two greats.
Is anyone watching American Idol?
Watched it last night--this part annoys me sometimes. I watch more regularly after they get past Hollywood.
I like the Cop though--he was a cutie! Nice smile!
Yea, I usually watch until they eliminate my favorites:-)
Yep. Lock me up sweetie:-)
Larry was cool--and I agree! The kids are 'lookin like a fool with your pants on the ground'!! LOL!
LOL! I was ROTFL! The General was the best! 63 years old too, wow.
Catchy tune too! :-)
Van Johnson was very underrated in my opinion, and Al Pacino in "Scent of a Woman" was fantastic!!! Ric
AI from beginning to end from season one!! But the tryouts annoy me too...
Al P and Robert D....two great actors. How did they end up doing Righteous Kill? One of the worst movies ever. Charles Grodin, underrated comedic actor. Robert D in Raging Bull. That movie really "packed a punch" Before you all say it.........GROAN ;)
I only tune into Idol toward the end of the season when they showcase the real talent. I find the beginning to humiliating.
Yes, Raging Bull was great and beautifully filmed. Those two are among my favorite all-time. They waited too long to get together. They're both way over the hill. I saw Pacino when he filmed Serpico. There was a scene filmed at my subway station. Robert Duvall is also very good. The Great Santini was excellent. Ever see The Scarecrow with Hackman and Pacino? Very good, quirky movie!
Fish Called Wanda was hilarious.
One of the best movie lines ever - 'Leave the gun, take the cannoli.'
Love Kevin Cline (Kline,Klein, Klien?) too. How bout Ice Storm. Another small quirky movie. I have never seen Fish or Fargo from beginning to end. I'm going to have to reference this thread before placing next netflix order.
Big time psychological creep you out with fantastic acting...Silence of the Lambs. I'm having an old friend for dinner took on a whole new meaning.
Hee hee - yes. Didn't see Ice Storm.
A cute Brit film is Waking Ned Devine.
George Clooney, O Brother Where are Thou?
I would like to see more of the older films, one of the reasons I would like to get cable or FIOS eventually. Loved Rear Window, Captains Courageous, Maltese Falcon.
Some comedies Blues Brothers, Grumpy Old Men, National Lampoons vacation movies, Animal House
Love the Bond movies
The Breakfast Club is one of my all time favorites
I love this part of AI, I wish they would should more of the real bad ones. I can't believe some of these people think they can actually sing.
Does anyone remember this old comedy/mystery where a bunch of the old detectives were lured to an old country house and then they were slowly being killed off?
Ten Little Indians?
We are AI fans - was kinda tough watching the Boston show and seeing that idiot kid from Derry, NH
wife has the bachelor on too - when the women who got the boot for messing around with a stage hand interrupted the bachelor and another women by sticking her chest out and shaking I told my wife that she was the type of girl you brought home for your buddies - turned out i was right
"Ten Little Indians" Nope, but that was a good book. I love Agatha Christie.
Which was the idiot kid???
I think Victoria(Posh Spice) should be renamed Scary Spice.
"Looking like a fool with your pants on the ground!!!" Loved it!!!
flowerjen:
Wasn't it "Murder by Death" ? All star cast and script by Neil Simon!
Teddy Pendergrass died yesterday at 59. Great voice.
YES!!! that's it, thank you, Don.
jen it was the kid with the bad teeth and blue striped shirt, he did a little dance and could not see to save his life, came with about 4 girls, skinny little irish looking kid, might have been the first one on.
and as far as beckem's wife - i will quote the ESPN guys on PTI - GET HER TO A FOOD COURT!
that old buck was pretty cool.
I think I missed that kid, now I have to look to see if there is video of that one.
LOL, I said something to that effect too, Can someone get her some food?!
do not bother to look for it - he was stupid
Movie actors, actress's that appeal to me...
Morgan Freeman ~ im w/Bill on this one, will watch pretty much anything he's in.
Lou Gossett Jr.~ although I never see him in films anymore.
Sandra Bullock ~ love this girl, can't wait to see 'The Blind Side'!
Edward Norton ~ he has to be one of the most versitile actors, if you have never seen "Primal Fear" ...watch it. It is in my top 5 best films of suspense/thrillers with a twist.
It came before, and had the same elements of "Sixth Sense" but got none of the hyped up advertisment as "S.Sense".
Yes, Norton is very good. Sandra is very cute and appealing.
i agree about norton and primial fear!- sandra mostly does fluff movies that are entertaining, i do want to see the blind side when it gets to netflix
American History X is another he did an amzing job in, though I had a hard time watching that movie.
Oh yeah, Primal Fear was another good one.
Wow, im amazed the 2 of you know it...like I said one of mu favs!
best sports film for me was The Natural with Robert Redford also a great actor - will watch anything he is in or directed
Never saw Primal Fear.
This is funny.
