LK thanks for the coffee.. I definately need it while my kettle is heating up.. Brr its cold out there today .. Checked the weather and it says 10 degrees outside.. BRRRRR Im hybernating nside like all big bears do in the winter.. lol
Jaye that fabric is very pretty..Hmm now to figure out what pattern and colors I like...
Well gonna run for a bit and take a steaming hot shower to warmup..
۞ Sweet Interruptions ۞179
Brrrrrrrr.... nice to come home to with hot coffee waiting. Thank you LK!
No, I don't have a projector. Did you check Craig's List? With offices closing down, you might find one for almost free.
I am so honored you'll accept the fabric, Julie!!! Will mail it out next week. Hehehehe.. be naughty all you want here! Don't let Synda go 'certifiable' by herself!!! Lolol!!!
To the merry makers.... God loves ya!!!
This is good... we have more than 15 participants, and for those that are still interested, I have more yardage!
I have surprised Deborah with a piece too. She has very limited access to a computer, and I am sure she would want to join us. Moreover, it will develop her new quilting skill.
Church was awesome, and with this record breaking cold, I am surprise that only 3 didn't show up. But tonight, there might be more.
Brought all your prayer requests/petitions to the altar. Lord's will be done and praises and thanks to Him for all the blessings we've received. And for prayers, not answered to our 'wishes'... He has His reasons and they are always for our best.
Linda, Marion... y'all in Florida.. sleet-sledding could be a new sport there!
Sis Kathy, THANK YOU!!!!!!!!! (Always a sister to all of us)
Marion, THANK YOU!!!!!!!!! (Still maintaining your perfection reputation?)
Save me some time from sending out individual emails!!! Awesome swap gifts.
You all be warm... gonna visit some threads, then watch the Patriots make a fool of themselves and then off to church!
TEN. . In disagreements, fight fairly. No name calling.
I did good... in any disagreement, I've never called Kel by his given name ;)
Well today we are having a heat wave--made it into the 40's but no sleet sledding here. There was some snow in Ocala but I didn't see any around here.
Trying to get some final papers ready for tomorrow mail and finally have my printer installed and working again. Thank goodness the fax works on this one!!! Will be coming in handy soon.
Jaye, LOL at the #10!!! Hope he enjoys his little "goody" I sent. Perfection? I don't really think so--other than l drag up the "rear" always.
Back to my spreadsheet.
My step mother sent this to me this morning....had to share it with you all................
INSTALLING A HUSBAND
Dear Tech Support,
Last year I upgraded from Boyfriend 5.0 to Husband 1.0 and noticed a
distinct slow down in overall system performance, particularly in the
flower and jewelry applications, which operated flawlessly under
Boyfriend 5.0.
In addition, Husband 1.0 uninstalled many other valuable programs, such
as Romance 9..5 and Personal Attention 6.5, and then installed
undesirable programs such as NBA 5.0,20NFL 3.0 and Golf Clubs 4.1.
Conversation 8.0 no longer runs, and Housecleaning 2.6 simply crashes
the system.
Please note that I have tried running Nagging 5.3 to fix these
problems, but to no avail.
What can I do?
Signed,
Desperate.
DEAR DESPERATE,
First, keep in mind, Boyfriend 5.0 is an Entertainment Package, while
Husband 1.0 is an
operating system.
Please enter command: ithoughtyoulovedme.html and try to download Tears
6.2 and do not forget to install the Guilt 3.0 update.
If that application works as designed, Husband 1.020 should then
automatically run the applications Jewelry 2.0 and Flowers 3.5.
However, remember, overuse of the above application can cause Husband
1.0 to default to Grumpy Silence 2.5, Happy Hour 7.0 or Beer 6.1.
Please note that Beer 6.1 is a very bad program that will download the
Farting and Snoring Loudly Beta.
Whatever you do, DO NOT under any circumstances install Mother-In-Law
1.0 (it runs a virus in the background that will eventually seize
control of all your system resources.)
In addition, please do not attempt to reinstall the Boyfriend5.0
program.
These are unsupported applications and will crash Husband 1.0.
In summary, Husband 1.0 is a great program, but it does have limited
memory and cannot learn new applications quickly. You might consider
buying additional software to improve memory and performance. We
recommend Cooking 3.0 and Hot Lingerie 7.7.
Good Luck!
we got to a whopping 28 degrees today. yippee
ROFLOL--that is priceless!!!!
Kathy, we made it to the low 40s so I guess all in all we are improving. My Mom called to say they had flurries and sleet in Arcadia, FL yesterday. That is just to much.
Love it.. LMAO I read it out load to Max after gigglig to myself and he likes it to..
Marion glad to hear it warmed up a tad for you in Fl...
Been working on Tonys Banket project and I believe I havent done half bad so far.. lol Just gotta figure out how I wanna lay them out once I get enough done that it actually looks like something...
Heres my progress as of now.. My fingers hurt...
I haven't gotten any seed catalogs this year and we're going to build a veggie garden as cheaply as we can. I've gotten Fingerhut and a bunch of others who I have never bought from, but no seed catalogs anywhere. I do have one advertisement from Le Jardin du Gourmet for $.35 sample seed packets http://www.artisticgardens.com
Cindy I've never heard of that dating site before. Good idea finding a site that Rick isn't using, chances are he'll be on the dating sites forever. I agree with everyone else, Rocky does look like a big teddy bear! Did Chuck show up or did he flake again?
Ya'll are cracking me up with these jokes and pics. Love them!
Well I have no idea what temp it got to today, the weather liars said it would reach 35*. Woo Hoo. I see you all are enjoying your sewing! Someday maybe, just maybe, I'll purchase one of those sewing machine thingy's my grandmother used to use all the time someday when I can afford it and join in with ya'll!
I've got to get out of this room, it's freezing in here! Stay warm everyone!!
That's beautiful!!
Crissy I dont have a sewing machine.. I wish I did but Im learning all this by hand and its really not to bad but I could have alot more done if I had a machine.
Tony is wantng dragons for his room and I havent been able to afford the only one we have found that is what he likes so Im making him a blanket for his bed. He currently has a denim blanket and a huge plush blanket but he picked the colors and asked me so Im trying.. I figure worst thing is he may end up with one thats not square but eventually its a one of a kind...
As far as tha batting goes, it is usually done in one big piece, then you can quilt through the top through the batting to make it look like little squares. I really like what you are doing, and also by hand! Very nice!
Love the joke, that was so funny!
It is 50 here today, still kinda cool, but no complaints here. Just waiting for spring to start another year of planting!
I have no pain in my hips or knee today, so I guess the shots are working. I did not expect them to work so fast, but hey, if it is working, I will take it!
Very pretty Donna.
Since some of you are wee bit older than I and have more wisdom . I have the question of the day. Does being gullible come with age and withered brain cells or is it because as you get older you just want to see the good in people?
I heard that there was an earthquake on the west coast last night, I pray for all of you that live out that way, that there was no damage or injuries. It was felt from central California, to Central Oregon.
Please post and let us know your OK?
Ah hem, Synda,'Since some of you are wee bit older than I and have more wisdom ' tell me what age has to do with it. Once gullible, always gullible in my book....and I should know.
Maybe it just hurts more ,I guess age has soften me..........And when someone that I trust and have faith in betray me ,I guess I am so crushed. When I was younger I knew how to build a wall and and I think I could read people better.
oooooooooooh Jaye - that's a beautiful fabric!! I'm looking forward to getting my piece ^_^
♫♪~§usan~♪♫
LK, the earthquake you are talking about was felt in Marysville where I used to live. Bet it scared the jerk, lol. Him living in a mobil home it probably shook it really good.
Anyhooooooo My date with Rocky was awesome!!! Oh my gosh he is such a sweetheart and open, down earth, honest. Has the most prettiest brown eyes, the softest mustache, a cute pot belly, a little on the short side for me. He is not the type of man I would normally fall for, but I felt completely relaxed and comfortable with him the minute I walked in the door. His kitchen is to die for. Oh man, I could spend hours cooking and baking. As a matter of fact his whole house is comfortable. He remodled the whole inside to suit his needs and he did a great job. He must of told me a hundred times that I was beautiful, loved my hair. Said I was a lot prettier in person than in my picture. He had fixed omelets and fried ptatoes. He is a GREAT cook, I ate everyting on my plate. Then we talked for awhile then got in the hot tub for about an hour or longer. I lost track of time I was so relaxed. Showed me his swimming pool and backyard. Oh how I would love to get out there this spring and fix up the yard. He doesn't spend alot of time gardening, just enough to make it look nice, but what I could do it OH MAN!!! Then he showed me the Harley it is a BEAUTY!!! has a stereo, blue lights that light up the motor and pipes. He said I could fall asleep and not fall off. So I know we will be seeing each other again but when or how often I'm not sure. But when were chatting before we met he told me I could come down there anytime I wanted. I had taken him a candle, he said he loves candles and wants to buy some of mine after I told him about them. He had never had a soy candle. I'm still so relaxed from the hot tub that I'm heading for my bedroom to watch some tv. So TTYL
((((((((((((((Calabash! oooooh)))))))aaaah)))))))
Synda Im no help on the guilable thing.. In myexperience ymy friends have either been tha way or not at all.. All though I was scammed on our house and once online and I can tell you I know better now. If it doesnt kill us it will make us stronger right?
LK thanks for the advice on the batting. Im still reading up bit by bit on what I should be doing and figured I would ask.. Max says I should have kept all the flames going the same way.. Hmmpphhh I just figure Tony will like it all the same and hes really excited watching me do it .. Especially that Im taking it to work and doing it there too.
Didnt here about the quake.. Will have to turn the news on..
Well gonna go upstairs into the warm part of the house for ahile right after I get done setting up my 2 containers for some wintersowing of poppy seeds..
Will try to check back in after a bit...
Cindy Im so glad to hear your date went well.. Sounds like you had a really good time..
Didtnt ignore ya just crossposted with you..
I posted before I read the above posts.
LOL Chuck and I are having the worst time hooking up. Yes he showed up but a little too early, lol. We were still having our belated Christmas dinner in another room and we had not started bowling yet so therefore Chuck couldn't find me. Anyhow when I got home last night there was a message from him saying he was there but couldn't find me. I told him I think we were not meant to be. He said that if he doesn't have to a 15 hour shift Monday and Tuesday that he will come Tuesday night to see me at bowling. Then maybe this next weekend we can do somthing. We'll see.
Oh I forgot to mention Rocky is a really good kisser and loves to kiss hee hee
Well, Cindy, it sounds like you found a really nice guy. I know I would be hooked when I saw his house, etc. Does that sound materialistic? Hope things go along smoohly for you.
The material Jaye sent is beautiful! I do hope we see pictures of lap quilts (or whatever you plan to make) in progress.
I learned early on in my marriage that older doesn't necessarily mean wiser. I figured I would get a lot wiser as I age, never happened. I listened to my father-in-law when we went out house hunting and went along with his advice. Nothing was good enough since he was a retired carpenter. Therefore never did go out looking again. I remember so well that mortage would have been about $88 a month, but then that was a lot of money. Funny part about that now is that we bought a house so many years later that is in the same area.
Talked to my sister in Minnesota for almost 2 hours and temps. there with wind chill is about -30. I don't think they go out unless absolutely necessary. I hadn't talked to her in so long. She is the quilter in our family.
Well, overtime in the game should be over soon so we can go to Wal-Mart, need a few things. Tried some banalg on DH for a very sore arm he has had for a long time and he said it really helped. So banalg is the choice for sore muscles from now on. Son was given some by a doctor and he swears by it.
Stay warm eveyrone, so glad we are having nice weather. Never felt an earthquake here, but when we have very small ones we usually don't feel them either.
Well, Cindy, that's a very important thing to know! Kissing is what I like best!
OK Jaye lady. When I've lost 25 lbs, I'm going to promise myself a meal at Calabash and a trip to see Jaye!
Donna, so is now the time to start seeds for spring? And yeah, love those colors in Tony's blanket. easiest way I know of to quilt is to make the pieced side, then lay out your bottom fabric, then the batting overtop, then your pieced part on top, and either large baste them together or secure to a quilt frame so that you can quilt them together. or you can make large squares, like 14" or so square, quilt those on a lap frame, then sew those together. but most quilts I've ever seen use 1st method, 2nd method mostly for pillows and such.
You and me Synda...I tend to be too trusting of people a lot of the time.
Just got back from a Staff Meeting for Bike Club Rides.....The house were the meeting was held is to die for, if you can afford cleaning help...I have stayed in smaller hotels. But the part I want is the Custom Kitchen the JD and JoAnna have added to the house...it is almost the size of my house with two work stations that are basically two side by side kitchens....his is complete with a large custom corner Pizza Oven!! Their hobby and main joy in life is baking and we were served the most fantastic pizzia's! We were definitely a stuffed bunch when we left.....I definitely cannot spend much time with them! They brought a giant basket of home made dinner rolls to the New Year's Party. I hate to think how much I would weigh if I spent more time with them or had a kitchen like that....but ahhh to dream.
re: guilible-ness. Anyone at anytime can be guilible if its in an area where they have little knowledge and they put their trust in anyone else. I've been guilible at every age. But as I age, I'm less and less guilible because I'm more and more experienced. And one thing I've learned - NEVER stop questioning EVERYTHING. LEARN ALL YOU CAN about what you're doing, whether it's getting a mortgage, or buying a car, or planting plants. BUY BRAINS AND SKILL when you can't, but if you question whether you've hired the wrong persons, you probably did. And always remember, a salesman is there to make the sale, not "take care of you."
We're in the tax mess we're in because a comptroller, who had the knowledge and skills not to do what he did, did it anyway. And left us holding the tax liability, while he walked away untouched. Talk about feeling gullible.
My dad taught me this: all animals have survival instinct. So don't expect people to be anything near as selfless as I can be. Count on them to look to their own needs first. Put yourself in their shoes, see the world from their point of view, then you'll see better how they see you and your needs.
He told me this after viewing my divorce attorney in action. I believed my attorney would look out for me because that was her job and she was being paid for it. Instead, she kept screwing up, then blaming me when things went wrong, even when I told her she was wrong before she did something. He got upset with me for not calling her on it.
bonjon - if I remember correctly (if you are referring to ladybarber101 wintersowing her poppy seeds), the Winter solstice is the 'unofficial' start time for wintersowing. I've done that for the past 2 years, but will skip this year, since we are in an apartment now, and I have seeds enough to last years. Also, I did not do my Wii stepping routine today, as I think a day of rest is a good idea!
Just popping in tosay goodnight.
Cindy glad to hear you had a great time, and enjoyed the food, the house, the hot tub, and the company! Keep us posted.
Well, I made arrangements today, to go to Colorado next week-end to go get my Dad. He was tickled pink when I called to tell him. 14 hour drive one way, so I will take my time, stop in Amarillo, to see my oldest son, then he will help me drive the rest of the way.
I need prayers for my youngest son Andy and his wife, they are haveing a rough time, and he told her today he has had enough, and wants to leave. I have talked to both of them, and they may try to work on things, but still need prayers for them to find the right answer.
Good night all
LK
Morning Ladies.. I have hot cofffee and omlets ready to go if anyone wants some..
LK Keeping You son and Spouse inour prayers for finding reason in their marrige.. That sounds like one heck of a drive to get your dad but I bet you ill be just as happy as he is once you get there.. Heres hoping the roadsstay clear for your trip..

Well better get to work.. Keep your fingers crossed for us today.. Max is going whle Im at work to the car lot down the road (by here pay here) and talking to them about a durango for me.. We really need something we all fit in...
Waving hello to everyone ~
Will check in later tonight...
Morning everyone.........I am so looking forward to spring.....I keep drooling over the garden catalogs that keep coming in....and want to start some raised beds this year....our soil is horrible in the front and I think the only way to have a decent flower bed is to switch to a controlled growing system.
LK, praying for your son and his family.......in these hard times, everyone wants to call it quits and just start over. Stress really hurts in ways we can not even comprehend. Praying they find peace and comfort in each other.
Ok, healthy breakfast.....sauted mushrooms, peppers and onions stirred into an egg and topped with low-fat cheese...whole wheat toast on the side and all the coffee you can drink. Enjoy!
Thanks for the good thoughts, and for the healthy breakfast. YUM! Sounds really good!
Morning!!! Getting ready for a staff meeting, wondering if the quake was felt in Modesto, CA, I kinda doubt it as San Francisco is 272 miles South of Eureka, and Modesto is 92 miles West of San Francisco. I'll have to make some phone calls tonight.
So Modesto, CA, where I spent the first 33 1/2 of my 37 years at, was on the Wanda Sykes Show the other day, I was lmao. She was bagging on Modesto, calling it the Worlds larges Crystal Meth population! LOL one of the many reasons why I left.
Synda I'm as gullible as all get out and I'm 37. Not as bad as I used to be, but I'm still gullible. lol
I'm going to go to the CA thread and see if everyone is alright. I've never been over there before, but what's a better time than the present? LOL
We have a staff meeting in a few minutes, that will take me up to my chiropractor appt and lunch, so I'll see ya'll later!
Good morning ladies.
Thanks for the scrumptous breakfast spread, Donna and Julie.
Awesome job Donna. You know that Tony will always treasure that since it's your first attempt and all hand stitched! Keep stitching, sistah!
I'll pray for your Andy's marriage, LK. They need to find advice outside of their very subjective friends or group they hang out with. If they could afford pro-counselling, or even find a church pastor or priest.
Synda honey, these are wise women here, including you. And we've all been gullible and will always try to be prepared. But there are malicious people out there who are experts at playing mind games, to satisfy themselves. Now that I'm older.... when that happens to me. I'd ask the Lord to bless them... cause they are so pitiful!
So don't be too hard on yourself. Be the sweet, caring person you still are. (((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))))))))
Maid M... I think it's a blessing that Kim's using your Highlander. If not, you'd be on the roads in the cold!!! Saw on tv where Gainesville's in the teens. Bless your hearts there. Are you sure you're in Florida?
Linda, hope you're staying indoors too!!! NO trying ice-sculpting outside!
Yikes earthquake in Ca. Pegi.. Cindy... glad you both are not affected.
Will be very very busy today. Got blocks to finish.. I better behave!!
Prayers go out to all that need, and that don't ask, I still pray for you.
Jaye, I can't promise, it will be anything to look at, but I would love to have a piece of you in a quilt.
I'm praying for you all too, and thanking those who are praying for me.
Love you sistahs!
