in-take must be great than the exercise can burn off - no more premium ale here for a couple months until its off.
What for dinner? Pt 3
Hee hee. I had Sam winter ale the other day. Not bad.
not a winter ale fan - i am not getting carried away - we are only talking week days:)
I'm cooking more chicken as we speak. We are on a tight budget so I'm trying to cook the least expensive meals I can, but stuff that's still tasty to everyone in the family. Quite a challenge I tell ya!! Tonight I'm trying some cubed potatoes right in the pan with the chicken thighs and drumsticks. I tossed the potatoes in olive oil and seasonings and put the leftovers from the bowl over the chicken. I always can't decide what temp. to cook at and whether or not to cover. So I started at 375 covered and after 20 minutes of looking at all the different recipes on the web that I should crank the heat to 425 and uncover it now. Lol Hopefully it turns out okay. It's tuff to get potatoes cooked just right in the oven!
Randy is easy.. overcook the potatoes and he is happy
Sounds like my man! Ray likes his food cooked to the point that my kids complain it's burned! LOL : )
yeah he likes his steak the same way.. bleak!
Steak is the one thing he doesn't like over cooked, except the edges... he does like when the edges are burnt. I have been cooking with an electric stove for the last few years and I can't remember the last time we had a delicious steak outside of grill season unless it's from a restaurant. I hate the broilers in electric ovens! They seem to make steak tough and rubbery and no crispy edges... maybe it's just me, but I remember being able to cook up a mean steak in my old gas oven! It was the best!
chicken and broccoli over whole wheat noodles
Change of plans. Too much with religion and scouts. Switched to pasta with the bacon sauce.
Leftover roasted chicken; rice & pigeon peas cooked in a tomato base with minced onion, garlic, & green peppers; small light salad on the side.
WC no matter what you cook it always sounds so good
Hee Hee! Thanks, it tastes good too! (lol!)
DH is making what he calls johnny marsetti; elbow noodles, hamberger and tomato sauce. He and DS like to doctor their own sauce.
Chinese tonight, YES!!!
Yes, WC lives too well! Especially all those desserts.
we even had garlic bread with dinner.
I bought a bunch of reduced mushrooms so Hubby made home made cream of mushroom soup. Grilled cheese sandwiches to go with it.
I'm thinking chicken tonight, We'll see.
Chicken breasts tonight. Not sure how I'll prepare them yet.
I'm having a fish fillet and DH is having a pork chop. He prefers those white, icky, loin chops so I let him have them. I like the butt chops.
chicken here too
Back to the new chicken recipe.
Bread stuffed chicken breasts. DH dubious, but will eat them.
Rotissiere chicken,pancakes and cranberry sauce.
I was planning to make curried lamb chops, rice and peppers but was told we are having Cub Scout Subs instead. Oh well lamb tomorrow. LOL Ric
Spaghetti and a salad
How do you prepare the scouts? Grilled? Any sides? ^_^
The chicken dish went over very well - with all except my young one, who doesn't like much. He does not like mushrooms or orzo pasta. So he just ate the chicken and the sauce.
don't think I ever heard of a child that doesn't like orzo!
tonight was salmon and green beans - wife is out with the girls and hates fish - need to take advantage of any opportunity:)
I's rather be out with the girls and leave my wife the fish. ^_^
Browned chicken thighs cooked with rice, whole kernel corn for veg and cranberry sauce.
Play nice boys. LOL
heehee
salmon is my favorite fish
roasted garlic parmesan chicken wings with a side of broccoli and cauliflower in a celery cream sauce
Both sound yum!
Question - as I have said many times, I don't like fish or seafood in general. However, I do like tuna - from the can or now, from the packets. What other fish do you think I might like that is mild? Thanks.
Flounder,cod,perch.
Tried flounder. Didn't like.
Crab salad
salmon
Haddock is one of the mildest fish there is, so if you don't like that, I don't know
Lobster is so good, mmm, I actually like just about all seafood
Fresh tuna is quite a bit different than canned
