GE, Those poppies are lovely. I really like your trellises too.
January 2010 - still celebrating our gardens
LOL - I was going to say the same thing about the trellises!
And with me, the poppies are always wonderful.
Thanks gals. The trellises are from Smith Hawkin I think.
I sure hope to see some clematise on them next season.
I love ge's trellises, too, as I've told her quite often.
Here's a short bio on Hal Borland:

Okay, well... then I guess I have to accept that "no spring skips its turn", then. I was starting to doubt it ... we had our reaaalllly cold streak and then it was warm, in the 60's, but now it's snowing again.
Just some flurries here today, but then it turned cold tonight. We had pouring rain and gale force winds all day yesterday. Lots of downed branches to be picked up again. All of my bulbs are above ground. I can't believe that for it being January.
We're still under three feet of snow.
Beautiful poppies, and lilies, collage queen.
We also had the heavy rains yesterday but today was sunny and beautiful with temperatures in the low 40's.
Crazy weather, highs of 61 yesterday, 41 today. Cold and snow coming on Friday.
We have warnings of zero degrees early on Friday and Sunday. I find even an hour a day of gardening in the winter benefits me in so many ways and by spring I can look around and see many of my gardens cleaned and getting ready to bloom.
In case I didnt mention it on this forum.I checked the long range forcast for the north east on Famers Almanac.
Its still winter with stormes to come in Feb .

Sorry Polly ,looks bad for you and me.
After seeing that forecast you can bet I'll be working outside today!
Stormyla....just wanted to wish you a happy Birthday. Hope you have a lovely day. Jean/Moon
Thank you, Jean. That's awfully sweet of you.
Mary
Happy Birthday!
Thanks, Carolyn! Just made it back from the PO sending out your seeds. Yes, of course, I am late. Did you get snow last night? The Poconos got it. I always want snow for my birthday. So this weekend would be OK too.
Mary - Thank you so much! Yes, we are getting snow now.... Looks like a blustery weekend ahead, so you may get your wish!
Happy birthday!
It's snowing and the wind is howling after a sunny day, which followed the snow this morning, which was gone by 3 PM. Seems like the usual spring confusion in the weather.
Thanks, Pirl. But it's not even Spring!! Did the snow blow away? It's fiercely windy here now and quite cold.
The snow has now changed to rain but with lower temperatures tonight I won't be surprised to view a winter wonderland in the morning.
The winds are amazingly loud.
I have seen beach towns under snow, but never ice. It would be neat to see.
Go Stormy!!! LOL, Please give her a carrot from me, Sheryl.
Awwww, how cute Stormy the colt is. My daughter has a cat named Stormy.
Happy birthday to you on this forum too!
I promise.
Gee, I'm in great company!
Happy Birthday, Mary!! Hope you had a good one and got spoiled a little.
Kathy
Thanks, Katie! I will today and this weekend!
That's lovely Jo Ann - it reminds me of a painting.
Very pretty, GE. Are the green spires Foxglove?
Well they make very nice vertical accents in that first photograph.
i agree. They are so far in the background I didnt notice them until I posted the picture in the files.
*Every* day you all introduce me to something new...!
Thank you Jack!
What are those little beauties?
Cool moths. That is a great picture, Jmorth.

And a happy Birthday to you also PollyK. Hope it was a lovely day.
