They're both so beautiful, stormy.
January 2010 - still celebrating our gardens
Thanks, everyone. Holly, I'm still planning on giving you some of that purple one you liked so much. Two years ago there was an Iris Co-op with leftover Iris from the PNW Iris Growers Assn. Half of the Iris that I bought from there turned out not to be what I ordered, so now I have about 8 or 10 NOID's. All but one turned out to be very beautiful, so I like them just as much as if I knew their names.
Holly, I think this is the one you wanted.
Mary
I really like the frilly iris that reblooms. Just love those colors!
I was in an iris co-op and got quite a few iris that I did not order - I wonder if it was the same co op. Anyway, I was still very happy with what I did receive. This one was not one I ordered, but I really like it. I think, it is TBI Buckwheat - not positive.
So many people complain so much about Walmart but I have some beautiful (although ordinary) clematises and other plants from there. If we have something we love and enjoy then it hardly matters where we bought it.
Carolyn, The colors on your Edith Wolford are beautiful. There are great finds to be had everywhere.
I've purchased quite a few there. I grow them, wonder what to do with them and then give them to my daughter. It all works out just fine. I did keep two of the H. F. Young that I bought and sent another one to a friend.
The Comtesse is lovely! It's so filled with flowers.
Stunning combination! Will you plant them all together? It would be a beautiful sight.
These will be tree climbers behind Black Dragon Lilies and an Actaea rosea
That should look fantastic.
Keep your fingers crossed.
Carolyn, You have a really nice collection of Clematis.
Mary
When I stopped putting in clematis and started putting in heuchera, DH told me he was glad that I had finally stopped with the clems and had gone on to something else....I have found that I go in phases as to the type of plant that I tend to be 'fascinated with' at a given time. Before the clems, it was the aquigelia, now it is the heuchera/tiarellas....who knows what is next ^_^
This is Heuchera Hollywood - I really like the bright red flowers on this one.....
Carolyn, I do the same thing. Hate to be a party pooper, but that lovely plant is not Hollywood.

The front row of smaller Heuch's with the silver overlay in this grouping is Hollywood.
Mary,
Ooooops! That is how the nursery that sold it to me had it labelled! And I have traded this one quite a bit.... any clues as to what it really is?
I really like your tiarellas. I received quite a few in a trade last year - cannot wait to see them flowering.....
They are Daniel DeRonda,MultiBlue and White Henrii
Carolyn, I'm not familiar with that leaf. You might post it in the Heuch forum and ask. It is embarassing to make a mistake on plants you've traded, but I don't think folks would mind much. They'd rather know what it is too.
I have one that's remarkably similar to Carolyn's but it didn't come with a name from the DG person who so kindly sent it. I thought of it as just another green heuchera until this spray of blooms arrived that is noticeable from 30' away. It's amusing that in a garden filled with lilies/roses/phlox/daylilies, etc., that my daughter asked which one that heuchera was. Mine positively glows. I love it.
Arlene
This heuchera is noticeable from 30' away as you have said. I love the vibrant crimson of the flowers...... and the hummingbirds seem to be attracted to it as well......
Either we're short on hummingbirds or I don't notice them but that plant is like a neon light in the garden and for something so small that says a lot.
Mary
what is the heuchera to the left? The peachy-orangey one. I like the coloring.
Carolyn, It's Caramel or Carmel. I've seen it spelled both ways.
Here is another type of garden picture. I am planning an expansion of the WoodsWalk garden and braved fog to put in stakes where I want the outer edge to be.
I will put newspaper down where you see the grass and then top it with a few inches of compost. I am hoping my local garden store has some bagged thats not too frozen.
Ge,That's going to look really nice after it's planted.

I will put coleus in there.
That will be nice.
Coleus will look really nice there, Jo Ann. I think coleus and conifers look so well together. Bet you've got a huge list for Rosy Dawn.
Love the stones.
My RD list isnt as long as it was last year .Less than half the number of plants but about 15 diff.varieties.
Many new ones .I have a lot of cuttings in the livingroom overwintering. I will put some in the new extention. There are perennials that have to be transplanted to that area.
Jo Ann
Black Barlow is so pretty.
A couple of months and we will all be back outside poking around in the dirt.

Very pretty, I will be getting my pictures back this week. They were downloaded into another hard-drive while my computer was being worked on and I haven't gotten them back yet. I will be so nice to have pictures of my garden again. I will post some as soon as I can.
Pirl, is he a respected source???
