I take it the bread turned out well Lynn....grin Hard to beat fresh from the oven bread.

(Zone 5b)

Hi Jim,Happy New year to you,I know how you feel,I've a cold too,although I had plenty of fresh air today,in quite low temps 19f,appaprently,so think that's why i feel better,it's all run away:}
Moon,glad you liked the ice -bound [they were Geese actualy :}],birds,they were slipping and sliding just as we would've done.
I contribute to a Tortoise owner's website and a Canadian man's just sent a video of the snow he's experiencing at the min in New Brunswick.it makes any i've seen here just look like a hard frost Lol,beautiful to look at ,but not good if you need to get anywhere in a hurry:}
Lynnie,glad the bread's turned out well:}
I'm off to clear away now,DH cooks,I tidy up after:},only fair.

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Try adding a little Cheddar to the dough next time....it will go even faster....grin

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

DUH...must have Dixie's Poo-Ducks on the brain, Joy. Saw a video the other day...fellow sat by a frozen pond and filmed the geese coming in for a landing....on the ice. It was quite amusing, especially when a quite large fellow hit the ice and bowled a group a few feet away over....they all went sliding across the ice amid squawks of outrage.

Dronfield, United Kingdom

I can imagine what that was like Moon,cos somehow I think people assume the water-birds can manage on ice,but their feet don't have any way of gripping,so they just slide,they need claws:}

Dronfield, United Kingdom

I'm off now to watch TV,something I like to watch for a change.Dectective series from Sweden,although we get sub-titles,which's half the fun:}
Hope you all have a good evening,take care,in ice ,snow and cold,
Joy

yum bread with cheese, I like green peppers in it too. I don't think the kids would eat it though, younger one is so picky!

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

So what did everyone have for dinner tonight? Lynnie had stew & fresh bread, yum! You got me thinking Lynnie ~ I made some quick rolls to have with chicken. I sound talented, huh?? Not my forte, although they weren't bad. I have this rosette cupcake thingie my mom bought me, one of those cast iron jobs. I tried to make muffins in it once and they stuck to the folds of the rosettes, so I tried the rolls in them. That worked fine. I eed to work on my baking more, I suppose practice would make perfect.

Sorry I missed everyone, Jim, I hope you feel better soon. Has anyone heard from Venice? I know she's not feeling well but we haven't heard form her in a couple days.

Joy, enjoyed your photos as usual. JJ, hope your dinner went well, and Moon, maybe we'll catch up another time, I keep missing you also. DH and I are hoping Ray Davies will do a whole cd with a chorus in the background, that was awesome!

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

I am stuffed to the gills
I had New york strip with sauteed mushrooms, DH had porterhouse. birthday boy (79) had fillet mignon and his wife had prime rib.
This place has to die for cinnamon rolls, so of course I have a doggie bag full.

I have never seen that guy eat so much, he had a wonderful time. His was suppose to be free and he didn't have his ID with him....I think he left his billfold home to make sure he didn't have to pay the bill..LOL

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

oooh, that all sounds good!

(Zone 5b)

JJ save some of those cinnamon rolls for breakfast for us!

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

ooh, I never thought of that.. something to look forward to with coffee!

(Zone 5b)

My MIL came over with about 20 chinese food containers that she had cleaned & saved.......JJ guess what I did with them.

(Zone 5b)

Smiley I love quick rolls with gravy :)

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

Plant seeds Lynnie?

I need to get busy on mine, just to get these containers out of my way.

I will share with you if they make it until morning. DH has a cinnamon roll sweet tooth.
I might get up and find them gone. Oh well then I guess we will have pumpkin muffins.

(Zone 5b)

um noooooo....if you want them tell me now before they disappear lol actually they're not good for that, they're too shallow.

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

I don't eat chinese so I don't know how big they are.

So you threw them away??

(Zone 5b)

well, yeah

(Zone 5b)

I made the chocolate cinnamon cake for work tomorrow...the smell is driving me crazy....

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

MMM sounds good.

Why did MIL bring them to you? What did she think you would do with them?

(Zone 5b)

she brought some over xmas eve, said they were for leftovers, I guess I said that's a good idea...thinking she was taking food HOME in them..next time she came over, she had about 20 of them, told my husband I liked them lol
they're too small for me to use as lunch, I'm a pig. As a matter of fact, I'm eating marshmallows stuffed with chocolate chips right now.

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

LOL.... well she was thinking of you, thats nice.

Marshmallows and chocolate chips? Not sure about that combination.
I'm hungry for banana split ice cream but its so cold I would probably never ge warm again.

(Zone 5b)

just get a big blanket and have your banana splitice cream!

(Zone 5b)

ok I'm off...JJ or Smiley let me know if you want that cake recipe.

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

OK talked me into it...
Night Lynn

I am not far behind you.

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

Good Morning! Good Morning! I've got coffee, who's got cinnamon rolls?

(Zone 5b)

We got you beat, 19 degrees here! That 6 degrees will make all the difference. Probably just ice here.

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

Gotcha bot beat -7 here.
Will you please start my car for me while you're outside?

(Zone 5b)

Jesup, GA

Good morning all! I think winter has finally hit the south. It's only 44 degrees in Miami this morning! Only 33 over here! Lester,has wreaked havock over the week end. Chased one of DH's customers to her cay Sat. eve. And jumped me again! I called a frien of mine. She and DH have a farm. They are willing to take Lester....God help them!....Grin....They have lots of chickens that live down by their barn....so Lester will be happy there....he can terrorise all of the farm animals. Grin..

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

In the car....thanks

Lester should be very happy down on the farm Dixie.
Are the poos having a going away party?

Jesup, GA

Lynnie are ya going to the gym today? I need some excersise,besides running from a crazy chicken! Grin..

Jesup, GA

Mornin JJ's. Gerttie duck Poo has all ready packed his bags and locked the door to Poo sanctum....so he cant come back in. Soon as he's gone,they are gonna have a big celebration. Grin....

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

Poor Lester..getting the boot.

I'm surprised he's not the main course after chasing a customer!

Jesup, GA

Moon! The picture reminds me of the children when they were baby duck Poo's. Love it!

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

Going to brave the cold to start the car. If the doors will open.

If it don't start I get to stay home...right?
