Lynnie, your receipe sounds a lot like what my grandmother use to cook during hog killings. When the first hog was slaughtered we take the liver, heart and lights (lungs) and she would make a hash out of them. That's what the hands ate for lunch during the slaughter process alond with some good ole 'Cat Head " bisquits.

Moon, I take my grits with tabasco sauce in it. Read it a Grisham book. Tried it, liked it and been eating it ever since. Watched "Chopped" on the Food Channel the other night. One of the secret ingridients was grits. One of the chefs had a blank look on his face when he looked at it. He had to read the box to learn how to cook them. One of the other chefs, a black guy, got a big smile on his face. It wasn't the first time he ever seen them.

Red Neck Saying Describing Cold - Colder than a well diggers hinny in I-dee-ho.

Cleaned that up for the censors.

Hiya Jim. Lynnie started a new thread...Gypsies shoot for Spring....

Grits sure can throw the unsuspecting for a loop. My daughter misses them more than any other food. Tried shipping them to her, but Aussie gov't stopped that....considered a grain and weevil threat....go figure how instant cheese grits could be a grain threat....and for sure no weevils....grin

couldn't the hands eat the ribs?? *grin*
I like hot sauce on cucmber slices. Yum. Learned that in Mexico. They were served with a margarita bigger than a well digger's hiney *grin*
