Oh Synda, I can just see you in little clothes, and walking in the snow. Poor thing, must have been frozen through! No wonder you both are still laughing about it today!
Hey Marion, glad to see you here. Sounds like your making baby doll quilts for the granddaughters? Sorry to hear that your son is sore, but like most men are so stubborn! Did he hit the lady, or did the lady hit him? Hope they get it all settled soon!
Bon you have been busy, but where are you going to store all those eggs and butter?

Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house
Not a creature was stirring, not even my spouse.
We'd just settled down for a long night of baking
Complete with a list of the cookies worth making
But what to our wondering eyes should appear
The sheriff's car driving by with Synda's dear
Grabbing shoes and keys, she was gone in a flash
I didn't have time to bat an eyelash
I kept on baking mixing and stirring
Waiting until I heard an engine whirring
Imagine my surprise when the telephone rings
You know at 4 am only bad news it brings
It was Synda alone and lost in the snow
And where she was she didn't even know
I woke up George, our sleeping house guest
The half naked girl was his only quest
He drove in the snow, the dark, and the ice
Passing her not only once but twice!
At last he did find her and rejoiced at her return
We now laugh at a hard lesson learned!!!

Just thought this was appropriate for the season!

Jacksonville, FL

Just stopping by to say hi and big hugs to all. My knee is feeling a little better but still somewhat painful to walk on. Will take some time to heal. I will be off work Thurs-Sun this week and next. The first of the year I will be only working 24 hrs a week, so will be having a drastic reduction in income. Will have to look into some other ways to make some money. I will find a way somehow. Hoping all of you have a wonderful Christmas and that next year brings many blessings.

Linda Kay, have no fear. this house not only had two kitchens, it came with two frigs, and we brought one old huge one, and an upright freezer with us. Well, each frig has serious problems, and the freezer has since gone to appliance heaven. But between them all, there's room for all the eggs and butter.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Am back! Spent hours at the oncology center, then off to the church's live nativity display. It's so cold that the angels were turning blue! When I see the sheep and the goats in the pen, all I could think was... mmmm... barbecue.

Who would have thought that the new Barbie's also aware of unnatural enhancements!!! Cindy, guess you might have to start using either satin or silk pants for her.
Gonna be some leftovers in some bowling bags!! At least you'll be indoors, and enjoy your food!

Crissy, wait till the bruising subsides. Hope it is soon.. no fun to be in pain this weekend!

Tis okay ♫♪~§usan~♪♫. As long as you post a 'hello' we won't think the worst of you.. like being stuck somewhere in a blizzard. Wonderful you have at least a week off.. I bet you'll be sewing and grabbing cookies. Will Bob be off too?

Arrrrrrrrrggghhhh!!! "RAIN" Maid M??? Oh no.. poor you!!
Seems to me that lady is 'sue-happy'. Pretty sure you've tried all ways to make Charles see some sense.. I'll pray his injuries won't get any severe.
Garlic Choc. Chip cookies? Goodness, I love garlic but not in anything sweet.. just use it for savory stuffs! Let me know how that taste, please. Kel's giving me the shudders when I told him..
Yah.. looking forward to Cookie's and Lord willing, we hope to spend more than just a couple of days :D

Take care of that bruise Sistah Judy! Put some ice on it.. and take some ibuprofen. Would you please give sistah Deborah a big hug for me and Kel? Tell her that we miss her and wish she could post pictures of Riley.
By the way, there's a new series, this time with Florida's history of the conquering Spaniards.

Darn, that is good Julie!!! How long does that take you? You do write very well.. I'm floored!

Synda, hope you got that one framed!! Your experience immortalized in a Christmas poem, by your own BFF!!!! Lolol.. yah, like LK.. I'm envisioning an almost scantily clad Synda being lost in the snow!

There you go Linda.. have faith that all will be well. He won't put you in a situation where His Grace cannot reach.

You're setting a very good example for your DDs, Bon. Doing the walk is more effective than just talking.
You and I both know that our lives are already blessed, and to pass on blessings to others...... that will surely please our Lord more.

LK, Maid M, you are both right on sistahs missing here. Me too miss the 'regular' postings we used to see.
Some reasons I can think of, are...they may be busy, or find this thread offensive.
Everyone knows I love the Lord, and I hope this doesn't scare off a few. Still, no matter what religion or no religion one claims to believe, everyone is welcome here.
And when they start posting again, it's as though they haven't left.. as the love is still there.. right Synda?;)

For the new sistah, Julie.. I can say that I am very happy you've decide to grace this thread.

I'm getting a tad sentimental here. Happy sentimental :D
Thank you again for your generous prayers for Murdock and my wonderful Kel. We couldn't have this strength without you.

God Bless Everyone!
*not so tiny Jaye*

Night everyone! Sleep tight.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY PEGI!!!!! Hope you had a great day!

Well I thought I was typing as I was reading like I usually do, but apparently not.

Synda your Christmas story is crazy! and Julie that's hilarious! You are talented girl! I always think it's funny how we reacted when we were young and how we would react now.

Oh fiddle, I was going to reply back.... Linda you take care of that knee. My foot isn't any better at all, and still bruised.

We are missing a lot of sistahs, but busy busy times right now, I just hope everyone is in good health and safe.

And I got bad news, Dave was laid off today. His boss talked with him out in the parking lot and they chatted for a long time, his boss did not want to lay him off. Dave's in great spirits, said he's going to rest through the Holidays since he's worked every day since Halloween, then at the first of the year he'll start taking care of business and get himself back on a roll again. He gets paid and keeps his benefits until February 8th, then after that he'll get unemployment unless he's found something else by then.

night night! Sleep tight! Don't let the kitties bite, or wake you up in the middle of the night wanting food LOL

Rick is soooooooooooooo blonde at times I can't even get angry at him....LOL.Last night I wrote him a note for this morning that said ,you don't need to take Ryan's college papers to work to fax ,because I'm going to go to town. Then I wrote P.S. It sure would be nice if an elf would clean off my car.Well,I got up and was getting ready to go and there sat my car still buried in snow..........I didn't go to town. The cold kills me and having to dig the car out would of done me in.So when he came home he says, you didn't go to town.....LOL.My reply....no my car was never clean off.I guess he thought I really meant an elf...because he said ~~~~~oh,you were talking about me doing it....I can't take it...ROFLMBO !!!!!!!!!!!!! God love him...........

Ok...I am seeing money troubles cropping up here and there throughout this thread so I am going to offer some insight into some things you all can do this next year to make finances less of a burden. If I am stepping on any toes, please forgive me. But Synda and I both know what it is like to live a little to no money coming into the house....so here goes...forgive me if this gets a bit long.

1) Propagate those plants you all love and sell them at a plant sale......you can do it from your own home if you have the room...here is a link to get you started.
http://www.freeplants.com/
There is lots of info on the site to get you going and you don't have to buy the book to get started.

2) Search the internet for telemarketing jobs....West telemarketing does not hire in every state but they pay every two weeks. You have to have a background check and go through training but it is inbound calls straight to your home for companies like Virgin Mobile and ShopNBC
http://www.westathome.com/

3) If you like to write, like I do, there are several places hiring writers to work from home.....
http://www.workwithclark.com/
Clark Covington pays per groups of articles....10 to 30 articles and also e-books.....he pays when the project is complete and pays through paypal....he sends a 1099 at the end of every year for taxes.....
http://demandstudios.com
This is a division of demand media and they own many many websites offering articles on tons of different subjects. Right now they pay $15 to $20 per article and pay twice a week....yes twice a week....through paypal
Not sure if writing is right for you...get your feet wet here...for free....also pays through paypal
http://associatedcontent.com/

4) Be creative.....if you have a good slogan or a great idea for a t-shirt create and sell one through either one of these places...
http://www.zazzle.com/
http://www.cafepress.com/
Neither one charge a fee for joining or setting up a shop.....they pay through paypal also

5) Sell those photos of all the beautiful gardens I see on here...advertising companies can not always hire a photographer for a single shot of a specific flower or plant so they buy them from stock companies like these...
http://www.photostockplus.com/sell_stock.php
http://depositphotos.com/pages/promo?gclid=CIW-v8CI7J4CFag65QodPGAWJA these guys are looking for pix
http://submit.shutterstock.com/?language=en
http://www.istockphoto.com/index.php?view=full&gclid=CMfLr8GJ7J4CFcx25QodZ1-4JQ

6) Sign on to the message board at http://www.wahm.com and join the forum......there are tons of other work at home ladies who discuss where they work and their experiences with the companies.....offers good insight into what you may or may not be getting into.

This is just what I can come up with off the top of my head.....I'll post more later if you all want the information...hope it helps.

Carrollton, OH(Zone 6a)

Good Morning everyone. Coffee is on, and some apple turnovers to grab, if your in a hurry.
Synda, Julie, do you not ever sleep?
Thanks for the links for jobs, and the recipe!
Sorry Dave got laid off too, but glad he still has a few months with pay.
Well only 2 days till Christmas. Is everyone ready? Do you open gifts on Christmas eve, or on Christmas day? As we were growing up we were allowed to open one gift from Mom and Dad Christmas eve, the rest had to wait till the morning.
Talk to you all later

Julie those links are awesome, especially the first one, I have about 80 brug cuttings sitting in water that I need to get rid of, I don't have room for 80 brugs LOL

I'm ready for Christmas! Woo Hoo!!!

Carrollton, OH(Zone 6a)

Hi all, need some prayer warriors today....if you find the time please keep my family in mind......day before yesterday, my daughter and here boyfriend borrowed my truck...on the way home they slid on ice and hit another car....no damage to mine as it is an old rust bucket and sat above the other car...but the other vehicle was pretty bad off...insurance will cover the damage I guess...no one was hurt but it sux right before Christmas....and then today, my son in law was on his way to work and his car broke down...only vehicle they have....with parts and the tow bill, they are going to be really really strapped....to top it all off, we have 6 kids in the house coming down with some silly virus.....our Christmas just got put all hold with all this and no one is in very high spirits.....sorry to whine but it just has me really down and I know God has a better plan for us...Just not sure when His plan is all going to come together..........so prayers for health, wisdom to understand, and a blessing to our finances would be much appreciated......thank you

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Oh my goodness, sending out lots of thoughts and prayers right away for everyone! So glad no one is seriously hurt, so that is a blessing right there.
Jaye will add you to the list when she returns.

Merry Christmas to you and yours!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Julie - prayers for you and your family - it's scary all those things happening just before the celebration of the blessed birth, but you're so right, that He has a plan. Too bad we don't know what it is though.............

Cindy - thank you for the Christmas card - Jaquie is so talented, and I love her cards ^_^

I got some good news re: my sister Alice. The Dr said the cancer that's grown in her lungs IS NOT in the lymph nodes. She's feeling blessed she says. She's had it for 11 years, and had 3 surgeries so far. This will be another surgery, but the Dr says that's a good thing. I'm so happy that She's happy.
I would appreciate keeping her on your prayer list though, Jaye....

darn it's not comingthrough on my system. Well, I'll take Linda Kay's word that it's beautiful!

we have all caught Bevin's sniffles, and Randall's mouth is still tender. we all went shopping yesterday, picked up Randall's gift, something for Mom&Dad, Danny's gift. Then we dropped DD off and picked up hers. DH and DD went without me today as I've probably got a sinus infection brewing (no big deal, still have some meds from the last one). They picked up something for Hope and Faith, me but they're not saying, and Randall's Mom&Dad, plus cash for nieces and nephews. [I always thought that was a tasteless gift until I'd seen how their eyes light right up!] I'll pick up Bevin's gift tomorrow a.m. That's about it for us. Very small Christmas materially. But so far, more fun than usual, too.

Dellroy, OH(Zone 6b)

Ok, I must really be sappy tonight...between Synda's CHRISTmas lights, the Christmas card from Jaye today, and the e-card Cindy posted, I am sitting here with tears in my eyes.........probably just not enough sleep...lol
Synda, keeping your whole family in my prayers.....maybe this is the season for miracles......believe.....Have faith girl...or shoot 'em! lol Love you!
Bon, praying you all feel better soon. I think the best Christmases are the simple ones.
Susan, Wonderful news about your sister. Keeping her in my prayers also.
Linda Kay....I'll sleep when Synda sleeps.....lol....well, maybe not....I just have to get some work done before the holidays to make sure there's a paycheck after. So late nights seem best right now.

Hoping all of you have a wonderful Christmas and a great 2010! May God keep a hedge of protection around each and every one of you......even if you are too stubborn to keep one about yourselves! Take care all.

Beautiful Cards...

Prayers going out to all in need....one of our Police officers is going to be okay, they still are not sure if the other is going to make it.

Had to pop out for one final gift that Laura and I each needed to get and we are done....oh my it is horrid out there....I have never seen so much traffic and such long lines and so many rude people all in one area.... we are staying in and baking tomorrow then if the schedule works out with the little boy Laura babysits we are going to take him and Sage to the Children's Christmas Service at Church tomorrow afternoon. That will be alot more fun for them than the Adult Services later.

A Happy Christmas Eve Eve to you all.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Evening everyone.
Just got in after a day spent at in-laws, finishing the day watching "A Christmas Story" with them. They've never seen it, and it's an annual must watch Christmas movie with us, for a few years now. Do watch the show.. you'll enjoy it. I believe Trisha had seen it.

LK, it's been decided that we'll be grilling hot dogs and pork chops at PILs. Just like Thanksgiving. But Kel and I will have our own private dinner at a German restaurant in the evening. Neighbor's kid is paid to check in on them ;)

Dave is one smart man, Crissy. He certainly counts his blessings in the face of adversity. God bless you both.

Thanks for posting the links to improve our finances, Julie. The last link may be our life preserver.
Hope the 'silly virus' doesn't become some serious virus, Julie. I'll add your name to our church prayer list and I hope your family will find some vehicular help.
One good reason for having a grand Christmas at your house... none is hurt ;)

Thanks for the recipe Synda. Blonde moment for Rick eh? That's truly funny!
We can't drop hints but be direct when we want something done by our guys!!

Wonderful news there Susan!!! One major worry off your sister's mind! What a wonderful Christmas she'll have.
Got your dmail, sistah! And why not RWB?? Great colors, of the best patriotic kind!!

Thanks Cindy for the card. I dropped my Jacquie Lawson subscription. She's very creative.

Maybe you'll smile after reading this. Talk about blonde moments?
Well, got a girlfriend, Renee, whose husband sneaks away to light up a ciggie, as Renee detests the smell of ciggie smoke and try to dissuade him from smoking.
One evening, after dinner, he told his wife that the poodle needed a walk.
When they returned, Renee picked up the poodle and 'talked' to it. The poodle muzzled Renee's ear, and all of a sudden she accused her husband of smoking outside!! She said the dog told her so!
Her hubby was shocked and can't believe that their dog could tell her that!!!
Well smart ladies, you all know that the cigarette ordor will linger in the poodle's coat right?
You can say that that was a blonde moment for him!!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

I wouldn't be out fighting the late rush tomorrow, if I were you Trisha!
It would only set my bp up!
I'm sure your church children's service puts out a great show! Hope it's not outdoors like ours was. We'll be suggesting a play for next year.

For all those early shoppers!!

It was just before Christmas and the judge was in a happy mood. He asked the prisoner who was in the dock, 'What are you charged with?'

The prisoner replied, 'Doing my Christmas shopping too early.'

'That's no crime', said the judge. 'Just how early were you doing this shopping?'

'Before the shop opened', answered the prisoner.

A Christmas Gift -

A guy bought his wife a beautiful diamond ring for Christmas.

After hearing about this extravagant gift, a friend of his said, "I thought she wanted one of those sporty four-wheel-drive vehicles."

"She did," he replied. "But where was I going to find a fake Jeep?"

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

You Know You've Had Too Much Christmas Cheer When...
1. You notice your tie sticking out of your fly.
2. Someone uses your tongue for a coaster.
3. You start kissing the portraits on the wall.
4. You see your underwear hanging from the chandelier.
5. You have to hold on to the floor to keep from sliding off.
6. You strike a match and light your nose.
7. You take off your shoes and wade in the potato salad.
8. You hear someone say, "Call a priest!"
9. You hear a duck quacking and it's you.
10. You complain about the small bathroom after emerging from the closet.
11. You refill your glass from the fish bowl.
12. You tell everyone you have to go home... and the party's at your place.
13. You ask for another ice cube and put it in your pocket.
14. You yawn at the biggest bore in the room... and realize you're in front of the hall mirror.
15. You pick up a roll, and butter your watch.
16. You suggest everyone stand and sing the national budget.
17. You're at the dinner table and you ask the hostess to pass a bedpan.
18. You take out your handkerchief and blow your ear.
19. You tell your best joke to the rubber plant.
20. You realize you're the only one under the coffee table.
