Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

UH_OH! Dh had better stay in the garage....maybe the old gentleman was remembering a type of potato fritter?

We had a babysitter once that made mayonnaise and lettuce sandwiches for us...

Be careful out there today guys. I do not envy your temperatures AT ALL...grin guess I am just not the jealous type...lol

Hi everyone, hope you're all having a good Saturday,41f today and it's been fairly sunny, going dark now,4.15 already here.
glad you all liked my photo of Timmy,and yes he has a lovely home :}
Been shopping earlier with younger son,my ex-mil had sent both boys some money to get themselves a Christmas gift, big son can never decide what he wants and is very sensible ,I guess and puts money in bank.Little one's different and always has a list of things he'd like. He'd wanted a new mobile phone ,so used this cash for one.
We went into Sheffield, our nearest large city and it was very busy,so glad we'd gone on train as traffic was horrible and parking probably impossible.
Well only one more weekend after this one,think we've sorted everyone now for presents,though ,so hopefully no last minute panics.I'll just have DH doing his food lists :}
Hope to talk to some of you in a while,
Take care
Joy

Come on then, tell me,what's Miracle Whip?

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Miracle Whip is a salad dressing much like Mayonnaise, just a bit more "synthetic" than mayonnaise.

We are a bit warmer here 48F, but raining and windy. Christmas is indeed marching toward us, seemingly on wings...grin

Catch up with you again soon Joy.

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

alright we are just gonna have to send you a goody box of all kinds of things
Miracle whip (like mayonnaise but tangier)
Almond Joy & a Mounds so you can compare
Baby Ruth
Let's see what else ideas here guys

(Zone 5b)

it's a sandwich spread, like mayonnaise but a very slightly different flavor.

Isn't it funny Joy how 2 kids can be so different? Sounds like you guys had fun. I'm glad it's not that late here! I'd be panicking for sure!

I'm just taking a little choclate break in between cleaning....hardest part is getting the kids to move along...it would be quicker without their help, but in the long run i think they need to be productive & have work/chores to do. Even if I go crazy in the process ha!

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

It is sometimes so hard to not just say move over and let me do it, Or to go behind them and re-do it. Especially with things like folding clothes...I have to keep telling myself it is okay if the sleeves on a T-shirt hang out, and as long as the towels fit in the cabinet it doesn't matter if they are quartered or folded in thirds....just a bit OCD....thanks Mom....grin

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

ok Lynnie just for you! Easy Potatoe Candy, easy on the lips but hard on the hips lol

Bake small potatoe. Peel and mash. Take 1 teaspoon of potatoe,1 teaspoon butter, and 1/2 teasponnon of vanilla extract. Mash this up in enough confectionate surar to get a rolling ball ( usually one box will do it maybe a little more). Spread ball out with rolling pin and spread peanut butter (smooth) on it. Roll into log. Slice 1/4 inch thick pieces and chill. Very tasty, make it every year!

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Ya know, I always wonder when I see a post that just says EDITED and there is nothing written, what happened? Did the poster think better of the response and delete it, or did Admin think worse of it and remove it? Like I have nothing else to do with my time...lol

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

Morning Moon, JJ, Lynnie, Joy and Trina, Can't stay have company coming will holler at ya later this evening. All have a great day!

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Man Flowers, you are gonna make JJ's elderly gentleman so happy...she can just chill it really well and dip them in that Magic shell stuff. Grin

(Zone 5b)

uh oh was it one of mine?

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Have fun with your company...so glad they are coming to see you and you don't have to get out in the Blazer since it is being so cranky...or not cranking...grin

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

Moon I have thought that myself, but after reading about how to edit, I think it means that after a person types the message, instead of using curser and backspace to correct they just delete a whole sentence and re-add resulting in editing. Make sense?

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

No Lynnie, the thought folks aren't after you...grin It was in a Beg thread talking about deer eating bushes

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

Ok and PS. I'm a Dukes fan on the mayo, Miricle Whip is toooo sweet. lol Bye

(Zone 5b)

Flowers that recipe sounds real familiar....

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Yeah, Flowers, that does, what doesn't make sense is when there is NOTHING in the post but the words Edited on and the time...no message at all...grin

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Maybe that is like the one your Grandma made Lynnie

(Zone 5b)

I think those are when admin steps in...

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

Too Funny!!!! Ok JJ its for you then, see how I get the post and people confused???

(Zone 5b)

yeah I can remember something .....you know when it's just out of reach....I'll ask my mother.

Dronfield, United Kingdom

Thanks for Miracle Whip details:},I agree about cleaning,if you want kids to help, you've got to let them get on with it and not critisize or re-do it,or they'll never want to help again.My older son will volunteer to help,but younger one never and if I waited for him to start I'd be waiting all day.But as Lynnie says 2 ,even brothers,can be so very different and they both have many good points and rarely cause any problems ,so I know I'm lucky:}
Moon,Trina ,Lynnie,hpoefully talk again soon,have a good afternoon.

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

Yea like when Venice uses those cuss words again ROFL bye ladies!

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Lynnie did say it sounded familiar....grin

I dunno Lynnie. I have changed my mind on a post before, but I usually go back and say something dumb like oops, wrong thread or bad link or something...lol

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

You have a nice evening Joy. Stay warm

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

Bye Joy, nice chatting with ya LOL.

Dronfield, United Kingdom

Hi too,Flowers,have a good time with your visitors,Potato Candy sounds unusual to me ,but I'm learning :}
Talk again soon
Joy

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

depends...Venice tends to delete something herself after she types it, so do some others...I have done it on occasion in other chats

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Oh wow. I just found a link with a few different recipes for potato candy, including a potato coconut fudge...LOL The featured recipe is for Flowers' pinwheels.

http://candy.about.com/od/sugarcandy/r/potatopinwheels.htm

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

yea thats it, just never use coconut or blender.

(Zone 5b)

I've made dark chocolate covered potato chips before, those were good.

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

I love potatoes, so wonder how I never saw potato candy recipes before. I was born literally addicted to selenium. I may have to give some of these a try, never met a potato I couldn't be friends with...grin

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

Hi all! Am I the only one who thinks potato candy is weird? I would have to taste it to believe that it is good. lol

I have much to do today and many errands so I will be back late today.

By the way, I only edit when I see a misspelling. I don't recall anything I have deleted.

Have a great day!

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Hi Venice. You be careful out running your errands. Bundle up and stay warm. See ya later...have fun and no, the whole idea is a bit weird...grin

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

To revise what I said above: A long time ago I deleted a post because for some reason it was posted twice. I have no idea how I posted it twice!!!!

Yes Moon, I will bundle up and stay warm. The sun is out so that helps but the lake is still frozen. My plants are really soaking up that sun!

Bye for now!

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Bye. have fun
