Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Aw Man...just realized I forgot to pick up the newspaper. It wasn't raining so headed down the driveway to get it. No sooner picked it up than the bottom fell out and started to POUR down....just realized how long that stinking driveway is...lol Shoes and shirt soaked...and I just got my hair dried....look like a drowned rat.

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

Marinette, WI(Zone 4b)

Trina, when did you get a cabin built on that land in MO that you have??

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

it's been there. it's just a little hunting thing not very big, or pretty. Definately only a warm weather thing!

(Zone 5b)

Moon you didn't have goop in your hair did you? That could have been disastrous. ;)
Sunny and FREEZING here, below freezing. Blech. I think the wind calmed down though.
Trina mayo on chips doesn't sound nearly as good as chocolate on chips.
Venice did I say hi earlier? I'm doing flyby's.....

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Dronfield, United Kingdom

Hi again every one,although it's 8.45 here now and I'm going to watch the next part of a series on TV that I like,about Merlin and King Arthur,2 of my heroes of British history:}
I watch it with Will,my 14 year old.
I find it hard to imagine chocolate with potato,I guess each country has it's traditions, but I've not managed to think of anything we have here that mixes those 2 tastes together.
Tomorrow,I'm hoping to go walking with big son,we missed last week as he was doing some motorway driving practise, now he's passed his test,as you can't drive on a motorway here as a learner driver. So the chap who'd taught him took him out to do about 7 hours, with a break in the middle. So we're hoping it won't rain tomorrow, then we can get out in the hills.
I hope everyone has a good afternoon/evening and all those with ice and snow stay safe and sound.
I'll be in touch tomorrow .
Take care all
Joy

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Enjoy your show Joy...I find the Arthurian legends most intriguing...loved Mary Stewarts Crystal Cave series

Dronfield, United Kingdom

Moon, just before I go,I've a lot of books about Arthur,Merlin and that period in history,it's a great interest of mine, such a long time ago but so very interesting.I also borrow any books that I see in the library relating to the subject too. When I was on holiday in Cornwall,SW.England in 2008,I went with DH and the boys to Tintagel Castle ,which is said to have been King Arthur's stronghold. It's a ruin, but there's still a lot to see, high on a cliff separated from the land by water, but close enough to the mainland to be approached by a footbridge,it's wonderfull.:}I would certainly go back again.
I'm going now,back tomorrow.
Goodnight all [again:}]

While all is quiet I will start a new thread. But first...

Christmas is celebrated at the end of December to coincide with the already well established pagan celebrations of the Winter Solstice and the Roman Saturnalia and the Babylonian celebration of the birth of the Son of Isis and Osirus. It is generally accepted by scholars and theologians that Christ was born most likely in September as the shepherds were still in the fields with their flocks. Many Christian celebrations coincide with pagan feasts and a means of trying to blend the Christian and Pagan holy days to assuage the transition and further the acceptance of the new religion.

All the plants in the garden have their own individual "growing " conditions....grin There are just so many ways to grow them, and none of them are THAT new..lol

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)
