I think I'm going to be one of those old ladies who wanders the house at night. Either that, or years of conditioning from getting up for work... I always get up early and poop out early.

Hi again! Went back to sleep since no one was out to play.

We are supposed to have rain through Wed. Yesterday it was cold and rainingand,today it's supposed to be 70 and raining. What ever the temp. is,it's raining. I would just love to see some sun shine! We have a Waffle house about a mile down.....want me to call ahead? Dont think Lynnie wants to cook for us this morning. Come on Lynnie we'll save ya a place!

no, I still need to go through & see what I have and then see what's left to buy. I have to make one more soup for my mother's basket & pick up a book.....I was at Borders & saw a couple books I thought maybe she'd like. I'd like something heartwarming....any suggestions?
My MIL does her tree in all gold ornaments,that's all that's on it, 24 k gold, so I got her one of those (it's one of those little yellow birds, are those finches?) and I'll get a gc to a restaurant for them.
My hubby just gave me a newspaper ad with 2 tools on it that he wants.

We had a friend pass yesterday after a long illness. I wanted to cook a couple of dishes this morning and take to thier home. It is sad especially that it happened so close to Christmas. I had better get up from here and get busy. You all have a good day and I'll catch up later.

I have to get the kids, they had a sleepover at their cousins :( I hate the quiet here, miss my morning hugs & giggles) and I may bring a niece out shopping.

Ditto here too, Dixie. We've had a few friends pass on, the only thing that really *is* comforting is knowing that they're not suffering anymore.. hard on loved ones, though.

Good luck on the shopping Lynnie, I don't have any suggestions for a heartwarming book, sorry. I need to go to the bookstore, too. DS has a ton of books on his list ~ half of them I have, they're classics, but I'm sure he wants his own copies. Books shouldn't be so expensive, ya know? It's learning, no matter what the subject. The Gov of NY is cutting state aid to colleges, how backwards is that? Let's just screw the future..

Lynnie, my house is usually quiet on the weekends. If DD isn't here with 6 of her friends, that is. Kind of hits hard when they grow up & off on their own and there's not any grandkids yet. At least we have "boydog" to keep us company.

Good Morning Ladies...sorry I am late. Had an appt with the goat man, and took longer than I thought.

Was up most of night, A friend, co-worker and fellow soccer referee of DHJim's lost his 20 year old son in a horrible car wreck last night. Kids were partying and drinking and passed a car on the shoulder at a high rate of speed, clipped the car as they cut back in, spun out and hit a tree. Trey was killed instantly and the kid driving is in critical, critical condition.

And GSJordan wonders why I am worried about him getting a license...

Wow. I am so sorry...that was a real wet blanket at the party...

Oh Moon, what a tragedy! Prayers go out for all involved. Kids don't realize it CAN happen to them. There have been so many senseless deaths surrounding drinking, texting and driving with youths.

There was a case here in late June or July. 5 girls, just graduated, texting was the cause of the crash that killed them all. So senseless.

Hopefully GSJordan is his own man, doesn't follow the leads of others. DS was telling us about following another car to a camping trip after his graduation, the guy was going 80 down dirt roads, he didn't try to keep up. Good for you, we said.

Prayers for all, especially for the driver. He has to live with that forever. We had a friend in the same situation, the guilt he felt was heartbreaking.

Will keep DHJim and his friend in my thoughts.

Moon,Popped out here to check on Poo's and figured I would check the thread. So very sorry to hear of your friends son. Such sorrow, that family must feel. And for him to be so young. It's such a shame,he had his whole life ahead of him.

We are getting an African Pygmy goat for DSJason and his GFChristina for Christmas. I want one too, but DH says probably not because of the dogs....our dogs are so goofy, I don't think there would be a problem...we shall see
