HI everyone else it's COLD here this morning at around 22. Ground's froze and frosted and still a little snow here and there where the sun didn't reach yesterday. Plants in the outbuilding made it trhough the night OK but I need to put plastic over the windows because it's going to get alot coloer one of these nighs. Sometimes we get below zero.

Washington, IN(Zone 6a)

Good Morning all ,

Phoenix, AZ(Zone 9a)

Happy Birthday Mittsy!! Hope your day is fantastic!

seray - your Kale is cool looking! Some of the tomatoes made it through with no damage and some have frost damage. The main stems are good and there are several healthy leaf nodes, so they might make it. It's ok if they don't too... I harvested several green ones the night of the frost and will ripen those inside - not as good as vine ripened but still better than store tomatoes - lol. The damage on some is pretty extensive. Fall tomatoes here are always a gamble - you win some and you lose some. To have 2 cold nights in a row this soon in the year is freaky weather to say the least... Next year I'll gamble and set them out even earlier than I did this year (October 4th). Normally I'd put them out in early to mid September but if you remember we were still well over 100° most of October - more freaky weather - lol.

Montrose, AR(Zone 8a)

Happy birthday Mittsy... Hello all... We didnt get any snow...Much to the kids disappointment.....We had a big frost last 2 mornings ... My greens are still looking good so far...every thing else is buried under pine straw...still cold out today... wishing it would warm up a lil more so i can go out and play... supposed to warm up tomorrow but of course its supposed to rain so.....

Montrose, AR(Zone 8a)

awwww..RRM Charley is sooo cute in his antlers....He must be such a sweet boy...

Chillicothe, IL(Zone 6a)

Happy Birthday Mittsy, I hope your day is filled with happiness.

Barnesville (Charle, GA(Zone 8b)

Mittsy, Charley and I want to wish you a Happy, Happy Birthday.
If you was here he'd give you a nuzzle. Have a great day.
RRM and Charley.
Thank you, honeybunch, Charley is a good boy.
We got frost last night, that means winter is not far behind.
Bahh! Humbug!!

Hehehehehehehahahahahahahahahahah Hohohohohohohohoh.

Tomato growers are kinda crazy Loca. My DH has sprouts in the GH. LOL Left over sprouts. I'm still getting Romas but the vine is failing fast. I'm putting them in the window to finish as well. Die hards. LOL

Hope everyone enjoys a cozy warm evening.

It's getting colder by the minute here. Wouldn't be so bad if there was a snow fall to go with the cold. Cold is no good all alone.

Litchfield, ME(Zone 5a)

We got snow. 6 inches . I dont want it do you want it Jan? Seray, Flower maybe one of you want it? Seray the kale is great.

I want it! Did you make a snowman yet, arejay?

We need it Arejay. We're having a snowball fight and Mekos is winning here

Barnesville (Charle, GA(Zone 8b)

Mekos thinks cause she has a Big Red Mule on her side she is going to win. NOT!!! I got three little donkeys
Fuzzyears that going to snowball her right back, huh? seray????
RRM

Ain't over yet! No defeat. Just trying to get recruits! LOL

Barnesville (Charle, GA(Zone 8b)

Just got to enforce our troops.
RRM

I think that would be a good idea RRM. Me and Charlie are GOOD! You are gonna need them.

Hey everyone, Blondie just let me know her son is better today and is now breathing on his own. Talk about a miracle and miraculous time for them. He was awake when she talked to him and getting stronger all the time. She also wanted to thank everyone for the prayers and it will still be a long way to go and keep the prayers coming. They are working! Thanks everyone.

Phoenix, AZ(Zone 9a)

Sooooooooo happy your son is doing better blondie!! We will continue to pray for your family...

Rain in the forecast most of the week here, temps in the 50s... I think winter has arrived in the desert - lol... Usually not this cool but I'll take it if we get some rain out of the deal!

LOCA, you gonna join with me & Charlie aren't you? I know you on my side. Charlie got warm and fuzzy nuzzles.(batting eyelashes) We gonna clobber them fuzzy long ears with snowballs.

Orlando, FL

Happy Birthday Mitsy
Happy Birthday LOCA

well goooood news, my son is now breathing on his own, when i got there today. he still has the ventilator and tube but all the breaths are his own. they put him on oxygen for 1 and 1/2 hour to get his lungs working and get stronger. i didnt know but his BP med was taken off yesterday, maybe after i had left. doing soooo much better. he is awake but still on a little sedation, will take it off when the ventilator tube is removed, i can talk to him and he has his eyes open, still acting fuzzy sorta, but soo much better, not fighting the tubes and all. well i am exhausted and am going to bed.

i want to thank everyone for the prayers

Washington, IN(Zone 6a)

That is so good news blonde. Prayers still going up until he gets well tho.

Well the snow didn't miss us this time. It is pretty but its snow. :((( Got about an inch.
Believe it or not even with the snow it isn't cold out LOL Must have been a wet one cause it is stuck on the trees and all.

Monticello, KY(Zone 6b)

Good morning everyone. Cloudy and rainy looking. Supposed to get rain but just heard from my sister further north she said they got sleet snow then rain this morning. We still have patches of snow here from the last snowfall and if it doesn't melt today we'll be getting more in a few days.

Blondie so glad to hear your son is doing better. You take care of yourself too.

Barnesville (Charle, GA(Zone 8b)

FF, I know that snow is pretty. Will you please send me a
snowball to throw at mekos and Charley. Guess I'm going to have to import them!!!
The Snowballs , not Charley and Mekos....☺
RRM

Washington, IN(Zone 6a)

Well I think you would have a water ball to throw instead of a snowball by the time it got there LOL

Washington, IN(Zone 6a)

Hey looky at what I just got off accu weather.
If any of you all get this please be careful.

Heavy snowfall and blizzard conditions are likely aspects of a major storm pushing onshore in California today. The storm crossing the nation through Wednesday night will create different kinds of weather headaches for millions of people.

The snowstorm will crank up in California to the Intermountain West and the Rockies today. Snowfall of 1-2 feet will freshly blanket the Sierra Nevada and even elevations above 5,000 and 6,000 feet in Southern California. Snow just as heavy will also hit a few areas of Utah, Colorado, northern Arizona and northern New Mexico, especially tonight. Heavy snow and strong winds could shut roads through mountain passes.

The snowstorm will explode on Tuesday and Tuesday night over the central Great Plains. High wind and heavy snow could make for a road-shutting blizzard in Nebraska, Iowa and northern Kansas, for instance.

Snow will begin in earnest over the Great Lakes region on Tuesday night and, though Wednesday, highest snowfall could reach 1 foot in Wisconsin and Michigan.

The interior Northeast will likely get mixed wintry precipitation, maybe enough to cause rough travel, on Tuesday night and Wednesday.

Meanwhile, on the warm side of the storm, rain, storms and the potential for flash flooding will target the Gulf coast on Tuesday. Heavy rain and the threat of flooding will be in store for much of the Tennessee Valley and the mid-Atlantic coast.

Chillicothe, IL(Zone 6a)

Blondie, So very glad your son is doing better, still praying for a full recovery.

Well I woke up to an inch of snow this morning. It is so pretty out though, I may go out and take a few pictures, if I do I will post them here.

Hope everyone has a good day.

Hi Gang - Just got back from a long weekend trip, catching up on a lot of past conversation. We met with our far reaching family for a great Life Celebration service for our departed "Gramps". He didn't want a traditional funeral or showing, so we celebrated his life instead. It was a beautiful memorial service and luncheon reception afterwards. They featured "tons" of chocolate desserts, which were his favorites. It was a meant to be a fun event, as he would have wanted. What a great sendoff.

We spent the rest of the time in business meetings with family and lawyers to straighten out the estate matters. My son Richie has the first option to bid on the farm and property. Gramps had a nice 80 acre farmette spread in South Corning with a cute house and small outbuildings for animals and equipment. Richie has been Gramps' farm manager for the past three years taking care of the place while he was in assisted living. Everybody in the family wants him to have the farm, so the transaction should go smoothly. Now if we could only find him a nice country girl wife, he would be all set.

As you all know, I sent out 15 Christmas boxes last Wednesday to everyone on our web thread. I sincerely hope I didn't miss anyone unintentionally, think I about covered everybody, but golly things have been really hectic around here. If you feel left out, please get back to me. Hope you all enjoy the little boxes and think of others during the holiday season.

Take care and best wishes to all

Al

Miss this thread for a day and look at all the catching up I have to do - lol...

blondie - so glad your son is doing better! That is great news to start Monday morning!

Thanks everyone for the birthday wishes - I got mine - RAIN!! Yeehaw! Right now it's only 54° and drizzling... High of 56° today and more rain in the forecast most of the week. Flash floood warnings this afternoon. Not too much of an issue where I'm at in the city, but the outlying areas that can get really scary. When I lived in Tucson my house was miles int he country and the last mile was a dirt road through several washes. When it rained heavy everything flooded. If you were home you were stuck and if you weren't you couldn't get there - lol. Sure don't miss that though I do miss the land and the peace and quiet I had there...

mekos - I'll be on your side, you and Charley. Don't have to ask me twice!

It's a sad ocasion but a wonderful thing to do. Keep the great memories alive and everything will work out for the son. There is a perfect lady for him out there and in time he will know her. You are such a thoughtful man and really hope your Christmas is as bright and lovely as you are.Thank you so much for all the memories you have brought to my life this year.
Hi everyone, no snow but colder than a snowman's behind.
Have a wonderful day everyone!

Thanks Loca, we're gonna have fun.
Al, you want to join us in a snowball fight?

Hornell, NY(Zone 5a)

Actually, I'm into snow angels right now, but I'll toss a few. We got just a light dusting of snow last couple if days, but weather has been really cold.

Al

Al, sounds like the send off of Gramps was Beautiful. I have been to one funeral like that

always remember.
RRM and the Fuzzyears
