Good morning everyone. Rainy day here too and cold. Finally seeing the end in sight on the afghan I'm putting together. Should be done with it today then can add bows to the other and those 2 are done and ready to go. Need to clean, bake and dry jerky today also.

Well it rained and it rained and it rained - all day and all night... That's the good part. The bad part? I felt like Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz and really expected to wake up in Kansas this morning! The wind blew all night real crazy like... So hard the sheets of rain were coming down vertically - how crazy is that? They said we had gusts in excess of 75 mph and I belive it. Woke me from a dead sleep about midnight stuff blowing around and howling wind. It was dark when I went to work so not able to see too much damage - lol - probably a good thing. I did see my poor tomatoes blown all around though. First the frost nipped them, then the rain blew the fruit all over the place - lol. Talk about adding insult to injury... Power out all over the city and power lines and trees down - geez. When it rains it pours - literally - lol. Sure needed the rain, but I hate that wind!

Sounds like a mini hurricane in the desert Loca. Hope your plants recover. That's unusual for you isn't it?

The wind is unusual but it does happen on occasion. Last spring I lost 40 feet of a block wall to wind gusts over 75 mph. We're not used to the wind so it does a lot of damage to stuff it seems. Some of my plants looked like they were leaning here and there but should be ok. Guess I'll find out when I get home from work - lol.

Sorry Loca, I was sending you some rain since we got so much but not the wind. That must have come from OZ. LOL It's raining here all day and tonight also they say. And a winter storm coming for Friday. My luck will just be winter rain again. I want snow for Christmas. Any hoo, Hello with a goody good morning to all.

It is cold and snowing here, we are to get about 6 inches and then it will get colder and freeze on Wednesday. I am hoping that they missed the forcast and we dont get that much snow. The temp after the snow is to drop to 4 degrees.

Brrrrrrr! Flagstaff and northern Arizona got several FEET of snow. Makes me happy I live in the desert part of the state.

HI Everyone. Loca we are supposed to get your winds here tonight. It's getting colder so our rain may change to snow. And I'm hoping for at least 6 inches GRIN snow cream yummy

Mindy, you can certainly have some of ours! So tired of the cold! Our snow comes with cold, and just don't like the below zero temps. Can't even take the grandkids out in this to make snow angels. LOL No sledding either. Bummer!

We got just an inch of white stuff, but the real storm is supposed to hit tonight and wednesday. Maybe 8 -10 inches. We have three ski slopes in the area and they are thrilled because it means big business for everybody.

The ski places up north here strive to be open by mid-December. Looks like they'll be right on track with all this snow!

That is an idea, we could all meet in the middle to go skiing. (In our dreams, but you'd also have to dream of Seray and RRM and their gang getting their butts kicked with snow balls!)

cue did you get the envie I sent? I was going to put a note in and tell you that one is suppose to be a dwarf but sis says they get big for her for some reason. She has one of those green things growing on her hand and thats probably why they get so big. LOL

We got your wind now loca. It is terrible and I have to drive in it today to go see GDers and I hate driving when it is windy like this. Blows my van all over the road.

BRRRRR!! Cold this morning, minus 15 on my thermometer! With wind chill, about 40 below! Don't think I want to play outside much today, LOL! Not even for a snowball fight!

Wow - this is the snow I really hate, heavy wet stuff. Gotta call in the neighborhood kids to help shovel, I've got a slight heart condition, don't want to make it worse. The predicters were right on, about 8" of it last night, gusty winds too.

flower - be careful driving... that wind can be real nasty on the road. They have stretches of the I-10 that they close here when the winds get bad. It's wide open and terrible cross winds. They usually close it to big rigs first, then all traffic if it's bad enough. I've driven in it and it's no fun.

Sorry I haven't been on but just wanted to explain a little where I've been. First, my computer had like 5 nasty viruses on it and I had to do another System recovery. I haven't had much time to mess with it as my son was admitted to the hospital on Monday. His problems started Friday and consisted of him saying crazy things, acting bizarre, and Monday he had the tremors. He was seen at the ER and then over to be checked at a psychiatric facility. They had him overnight and sent him back to the ER yesterday and then admitted him back to the regular hospital. Today he is on his way to a bigger hospital in another city to be seen by a neurologist. They can't figure out what's going on right now. He's been tested for infections, had a drug screen, and 2 cat scans so far and they don't know what's causing it. He won't talk to anyone at the hospital so that makes it hard. Need to get ready and head up there but just wanted to let everyone know and I will keep you posted.
