Best/Worse/What did I learn today?

Victoria Harbour, ON

Daytona here we come..lol..hope you get the vehicle of your dreams Crissy...only recently as I'm aging (ho hum) am I driving an automatic...

still worried about your mom having that operation Crissy...the unknown is terrifying..playing with nerves so dangerous...

I have micro furnace on here in the office today..lightly snowing, low temps ooooh just see the red red on my weather network..best I go check to see what it say...one sec.

Winter Storm Watch..

LindaKay, how's your dad doing?

Rosamond, CA(Zone 8b)

Crissy I do that too regarding the comments if I even can do that, sometimes there are already too many long posts, to do that with, or my response would take a day to post and for you to read and a day for me to catch up reading the posts. LOL

Betty your party looks so festive and everyone looks so happy, it makes me really want to come there. I love Sage Green, it has always been my favorite color, then periwinkle blue. I love greens and purple family colors together too. Your home is so homey and cute.

Sounds like a would want to take a good swing at your husband Crissy, no offense. I really know what your are thinking about your husbands thought processes and your ability to have a say so in any of it. However in this economy, as one who knows what it is like on unemployment right now, and have used most every available class and tool you can use, as one who spends literally every day nearly, and often all day doing something job seeker related. There are so many people who are on EDD that have long ago exhausted their benefits, people with degrees and experience high up the chain of command, also the average Joe, like me who just has a great work ethic and a long work history in one job, that just can not get a job. Schooling is an option that will gain more time on his potential benefits, however he is really not using his noodle if he does not look at training in something that is going to make him more desirable over another person when his benefits do run out.

He may be in the WIA program which I am in, for displaced workers, they make you find some job on www.labormarketinfo.edd.ca.gov (in your state it may be your state initials instead or another federal career labor market site), but this tells you what jobs are the most needed in your area, in the state or country, into the future 10 years, what they make annually, etc. You can only go to school that fits the criteria as in demand jobs. If he has skills in his field but missing a few things to give him an edge, it is better to go to one of those. If he wants to change careers, than he needs to find something that he could train for, that you could live on, and he could get work in, just out of school. If he really wants a vacation from work, he will get it, one way or another, more than likely, but if he is smart he will realize that he does not want to stay that way and if he decides he is tired of that, it may make him be behind the eight ball and have lost good opportunities unless he looks at them now. Plus in order for them to train him and pay for the school there are hoops to jump through that he may need to look at from the first day he is unemployed so he does not miss the deadlines to request them.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Afternoon everyone. We were on the way to San Angelo, for my MRI results, and the Dr.'s office called to reschedule for Friday afternoon. Glad we were only about 15 minutes from the house, and not the 3 hours it takes to get there!
Betty, my Dad is doing good, he just wants to get out of Colorado. It is all of 21 for the high today, and supposed to be 7 tonight. He does not like the cold temps.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Betty LOL I love you and when she gets this surgery and feels better I'm bringing her up to your place to meet you. Now I'm worried about you because it looks like you're going to be getting this blizzard tomorrow. It's ok, my mom had the same surgery done 20 years ago before technology provided the knowledge, and the dr who did it was way before his time and he was the only dr in the US who knew how, there are 6 drs that know how now and they all learned from the dr who did her surgery 20 years ago, he was only 30 years old then and he passed at 35 years old from a massive heart attack. It's not that the drs don't know how, or can't do it, they won't do it because everyone's afraid of being sued because of our wonderful sue happy society we have now-a-days.

LOL!! The thing with Dave is he's really really hyper and pretty smart and knows it. Then his ego kicks in and then he changes his mind every time the wind changes directions, so what he says one minute could be completely forgotten the next minute. We have a handyman/lawn care business already, but he's 48 years old and his age is going to creep up on him at some point in time and he knows it. He's an Expeditor, has been a control planner in previous years, and in San Jose, CA and has worked for a bunch of big companies such as Fujitsu, Compaq, HP, and I don't remember, there's about 3 or 4 more. He loves his job and wants to retire from that company and someone told him that he 'could' be called back sometime in 2011, so he wants to do something that will carry him through until they call him back, so that's what he's trying to do. The only problem I have is I'm paying for my BA and still owe over $28,000, to do the barber thing the schooling is another expense, plus he'll have to buy all of the scissors, gels, combs, etc, plus pay rent for his space. He doesn't know a lot of people so getting clients could be an issue, and so on. I don't blame him for looking at the bright side of things, but if it were me I'd let it go and go somewhere else. He hasn't left be broke yet so I guess he won't now, it's real hard for me to not worry about it and then I get mad at myself because I should be making about 25.00 an hour at least and I'm sitting here at this little job making 12.00.

Thank you so much for the information on the job and the link! I'm going to save it for further use, if needed. I just keep thinking that it was God's way to put him in his place and they'll keep him and then we won't have to worry about it.

Glenview, IL

Hi...

It's 8:00 p.m Where the heck is Betty? Are you home safe off the roads?

Hey Crissy and Dawn. Nice to read your conversations, lol...being quiet so you CAN .

Crissy, hope everything works out, with trans and all that.
Dawn, I am going to look into the school thing too, hard part is...my gosh, not sure what kind of course in demand, ya know.
Still wishing you luck on the job hunt here.

Linda Kay, Oh My Gosh, thankfully you weren't to far in the travels! Glad your dad is doing ok too.

Well wev'e had a nice little blizzard here as well. I unfortunatley had to drive in it, but home ok.
Had a ML reunion, so much fun to catch up with co-workers of past...Smiles, even dressed up for the occasion, lolol first time in ages.

Hope you are all snug, and warm...

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Oh yes, snug and warm it is! Dave is still at work and it's getting very windy out there. I'm going to see how high it's blowing, sounds like a big windstorm but I'm sitting at the southwest corner of the house too.

Rosamond, CA(Zone 8b)

In Illinoise there is probably a site that tells you the labor info, but you can go on www.labormarketinfo.edd.ca.gov and there is another one called http://online.onetcenter.org/ that tells you so much more than you ever thought you could find out. Good tools. If you are dislocated from your present line of work you can apply for the WIA program and you do not have to be on unmeployment even, but the program can pay for training, in this state because of the Incentive Package, it pays up to 8,500 of your tuition, if it is an approved course on something called the i-train list. It is Federal so it may be the same in your state, I think it is anyway.

I am a worrier too by nature, so far God is looking out for us, so I have been not as worried and stressed as normally I would be. Thank the Lord for extensions to the EDD money anyway, right now or I might be more stressed out. It has only been since Oct. 1 that I lost my job but still my h could go on strike any day, against his will.

Hi Judy, what are you trying to say? We talk a lot! (*&^%%@#)lol

Baton Rouge, LA

Hello To All!

Hugs to all my DG Friends.... Crissy & Susan on the job info..that's great....

I was so SO frustrated with DH when we first married....he went through about 7 jobs...in the first 3 years (and here I thought going from single Mom to married would make my life easier! HA!)....but now he has finally found his "niche". (But now he works 24/7....so then what!) Crissy - Your Dh is a very bright guy...and knows what he's doing...so you are prob like Susan and myself...a worry wart?

I'll be Pollyanna here and say.."well the economy is getting better so maybe he won't lose his job after all ".....

I have my FIRST Performance Evaluation tomorrow (at the new job). So we'll see...maybe tomorrow I'll be on here crying about how bad I'm doing...OR hopefully not...

BEST: About 4pm today... the weather being miserable...and 4 tickets were about to go unused for an Aids Benefit hosted by Sir Elton John and Billie Jean King....starring Andy Roddick, Selena Williams, and Kornu....what? (DS says...the really HOT tennis girl with the short skirts)...I mention to the secretary..."My son is the High School Tennis Captain and would really enjoy going"... SO cool...DS, other Tennis Captain, Rylan, Rylan's Dad, and Storme....tennis team player...all go to this event. DS on his way home now...only text I've gotten from him said "AWESOME" so I can't wait to hear.....

WORST: Had cancellation this week. AND worried about tomorrow....

LEARNED: DON"T involve production department in planning of commercials...they will talk your client OUT of advertising!

Okay - that is not ALL today's events....but Mon/Tues....

Hugs to all.....
Mary

Morning...

Be back to gab when I get to work..

Blizzard going on..wow talk about high winds, thought I'd leave 1 hr. early and take my time..only concern is my little Aveo, winds could just lift it up and take us away..all kidding aside, it very well could make driving just a tad dangerous..

Off I go..
will make sure I post when I arrive otherwise a few of you will get anxious (know this from previous years) lol

Victoria Harbour, ON

Ohhh 1 hr. to kill...lol...Suzanne called and thought it would be best if I drove to her house (5 minute drive) and we'd go together...so stress is gone, picking out more wool for the afghan....joyous morning for sure!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Please drive careful!

Glenview, IL

Good Morning...

Mary, Best of luck, I'm sure first review will be great!!

Aww, no snow day for Kids, lol...school should never have told them of possible closing, poor kids had to wake and travel in slushy, cold.
lol.

Betty, glad to hear you got to work...OH, golly wasn't trying to be rude, I hope EVERYONE travel safe!

Have a great day.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Here I am, home, in my jammies enjoying a day of relaxation..thank goodness no visuals on telephone calls...

By the time I got to Suzanne's Paul had already called, everyone was staying home except for Suzanne and I who would brave the storm (always the 2 of us who do it)..going only to cancel a few appts. and to transfer call here to my home telephone...got back at 11:30..boy is it stormy out there...can't believe that just yesterday I said to Suzanne that I should start taking telephone numbers home with me re bookings and transfer calls JUST IN CASE..that's as far as it went...will start doing so every night now all winter long..being prepared would have saved us a trip to the office...

Going to call the girls who were coming tonight to do flower arrangements and see if they want to make it another night...

So out comes my sewing machine, pad and paper next to it just incase I get calls..nice to be home all comfy with fireplaces on, homemade soup and furries laying next to your feet...can't beat that can you?

(Audrey) Dyersburg, TN(Zone 7a)

Betty, I hope you and yours have a very Merry Christmas! That also goes for the rest of you!

Glenview, IL

How Cool Betty!! You got a snow day.

Nice to play at home in the middle of the week!

doing a little bit of decorating, while listened to Christmas music.

Audrey, Wishing you a very Merry Christmas too.

It's snowing, so pretty to watch.
LOL, working around the house as i decorate, just can't seem to focus on one thing.

Now, playing secretary for Julia, she's no time to type her paper so she asked if I could, she is so cute, drops me a few $ for my time.
It's a big report and probably will take several hours.

What are you sewing?

Victoria Harbour, ON

blocks Judy that I should have already had done..better late than never though..got to admit, didn't waste many seconds of my day, just couldn't do everything I had planned, now I've time to play...

Yes enjoying the day, just wished I hadn't had to drive all the way to Barrie this a.m. in storm only to return home as soon as I arrived, but am enjoying the day...

Machine is out, cutting material then on to sewing...

Audrey, thank you sweetie, same to yours...how have you been feeling, haven't seen you anywhere...

Did you manage to get the candycanes done or can I help guide you through?

(Audrey) Dyersburg, TN(Zone 7a)

Just can't get in the mood to do them, Betty. The parents of my ggd have no income except foodstamps, and they're living with my daughter, Lisa. They have no money for diapers or baby wipes. Lisa can't afford to buy them, and neither can I. Thank goodness she wont remember this Christmas.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Sometimes it's great to be a baby.

Betty wish you hadn't have had to drive in that, I posted yesterday somewhere that I was worried about you driving to work today beins it was going to blizzard, according to the forecast.

Well my foot isn't any better, injured it raking leaves the Sat before last and it's not getting better, if anything it's getting worse and I should have had some improvement by now, so have an appt tomorrow morning at 8:50 for dr to look at it. He better not put me on crutches because there's a good chance I won't use them.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Hello Ev1!
Well, heard from my dentist re: the CT scan of my jaw. Now he says he may not be able to do anything, if my Dr says "no". I'm an epileptic, y'see, and they'd have to work near my brain with electricity. Thing is, I'm a very low grade epileptic - have 1 every 20 years whether I need it or not LOL BUT, when I have 'em, they're high grade. I haven't had one in about 15 years. Still, they have to be careful. I'm just annoyed about it, is all........

Susan

Glenview, IL

Well it's good then you got an extra day to work on them!

OH MY GOSH, ever have one of those days, you can't focus on any one thing??
Today is that kind of day for me...Geesh, working on 5 different pressies!
On of which is the keychain for Julia, man got a big tangle, lol so down it went.
Then started this other project and burned the heck out of my finger! Down it went.
tried to do a bit of house work, phone rang and that was it for dishes!

So you'll never guess in a million years who called!!

My Niece! Now you might remember we had a big falling out 2 years ago, haven't spoken to eachother since.
Well on December 4th was my sisters birthday, she would have been 49. Every year I dedicate that day to her, lol all day long, hum happy birthday. This year Sylvia has been on my mind a great deal. I can't beleive it's been 20 years, so anyway I called my niece to just tell her happy birthday to her mom and how much i think about her...Neice was too flaberghasted to hang up. I guess i am the only one that called in rememberance. I just kept the conversation short and focused on Sylvia...
So I was telling Steve about it, he asked if i thought she would call me, I said i dunno but someone has got to break the ice it mide as well be her ma! I said it was now in her (dn) hands.
Well today, she called me! Maybe my sister has been listening to my plea, and that was her daughter and I can get back on good terms.
Melissa wanted to know if i had a certain photo of her mom and dad and her. She wants their portrait tatoo'd and that photo with her was one they were really happy in! So her ma was the focus of conversation once again, I am thinking with a big smile, yep Sylvie is with us, and Thank You Sister.

So, that is the BEST of my day.
Worst, burning the crap out of the tip of my thumb./lol same hand as cut forefinger! lol, three fingers left.
Learned...It sure takes some serious time for prayers to work. I am so glad I took a deap breath and made that call.

Audrey, I do hope for a better year for you and your family.
Crissy, Did i read somewhere you hurt your foot?? Gosh sure hope it heals fast. yikes, maybe you should try and stay off it as much as you can....

OK, break over.lol will try to complete one thing today, maybe 2!

Glenview, IL

Awe, Susan, sorry to hear about that.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Yes, I hurt my right foot 1 1/2 weeks ago. I've tried staying off of it, but that doesn't work. I made a dr appt for 8:50 in the morning.

Great news about your niece! It does take time sometimes but when it happens it was worth the wait.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Audrey, prayers for you and yours...I agree, to be a baby again, free of woes but then would come the rest of life right?
Maybe you should try to make the candycanes, wouldn't they be a nice gift for you to bring a smile to those ladies...

When we were leaving Barrie this morning, on a corner was a person, couldn't see if it were male or female, had parka all covering the face, pushing a grocery cart full of bags and boxes...my heart stopped, sometimes we just don't acknowledge that regardless how bad things are that there are some without homes..had we been able to stop I would have helped with $$$ but there were trucks etc. and it was a one way..maybe tomorrow I'll go to same area and see if the individual is still around!

Judy, Lord does answer prayers..spirit of those we love I'm sure are around us..you've always felt your sister's presence when you needed her, perhaps this is one of those times...

Yep, had some of those days were you just go from one thing to another and not accomplishing a whole lot...I managed to get my quilt block done, it's labelled and will be put in the mail early tomorrow morning in Barrie, that seems to save a few days when posted from there...so did accomplish that much..

Busy this afternoon..no one would ever know I wasn't in the actual office..took notes, sent e-mails, returned calls..lordy wonder if I could con Paul into letting me do this all winter...nawwww couldn't get him to agree...

Judy were you doing a wreath using glue gun? wow that hurts like the dickens...

Crissy, you've waited days too long, should have had it check long before now...you'll probably have to go get x-rays right? What do you get off for Christmas...just stat days or extra days included...

Susan, they are just being cautious, wouldn't want anything to happen to you..know a lady who went to dentist, put her out to extract a tooth and she passed away..we take those things too much for granted I think...what happens if he can't do it? will you be in pain much of the time..

Mary, how did the Performance Evaluation go? Bet you were worried sick about it and you didn't have to be nervous, they hired you because you are brilliant girl so stop the worrying..it takes time to adjust and build a client base...don't we all have memories when we were first married..so many adjustments and worries...all for not...lol..well maybe not all right?

When do the children get out of school for Christmas holidays Mary? will you be off with them? so many questions....

Waiting to hear from Rita, cancelled the other girls for tonight, a few were worried anyway as they were calling for possible freezing rain, scheduled class for tomorrow night..now watch Rita come right from town..drats, should go look to see if I've her cel phone...

It's been soooo long since I've sewn grannie squares together that I'm not sure the best way to do so..it's for that quilted look crochet afghan and I want the seems to be 'blind seems' maybe I'll just sit tonight and try various ways and see what looks the best..must decide on what color to do the sewing with..know you don't change color to sew/crochet each 2 squares together do you? maybe I best wait till one of you answer that one...

ok, still have about 55 squares to make so could continue making them until I find out...

Ames, NE(Zone 5b)

Hello Everyone:
Well it's a cold, windy day outside. We got around 10 - 12" of snow over the last couple of days. The winds are very strong and it's quite cold and not supposed to get any better for the next few days. We came over to a different hospital in Omaha for Acute Rehab yesterday in the snow storm. We made it okay.
Tubby was to start rehab today, but his INR is too high at 4.9, so they just did some assessments at the bedside and hopefully will start the physical therapy tomorrow. They have to watch for bleeding on the brain for the next 36hrs. since blood was so thin. There is always something. He just has to work hard now so we can go home in a couple of weeks.
They did have him brush his teeth, wash his face and put on a T shirt for the first time in a long while. He sure looks different with clothes on. They said the first couple of days are the roughest, but after that the people settle in and do better. I hope he puts his best effort forward. He gives me those looks when he doesn,t want to do things. I'll stay to back ground so that he listens to them more then me harping at him. It will interesting.
If Tubby works hard I will try to go back to work in the next week or two. I hope and pray all goes well. I doubt that I will do any Christmas shopping as I don't know when to fit in my schedule or can get the girls to come and sit as this is completely different set up here. We'll see. Well, I will check back in with you in a few days or so and let you know what has transpired. Hopefully it will be the news of us going home.
We wish you all the best, drive careful on those snowy roads everyone and have the best of the Holiday spirit. Our hearts and prayers go out to everyone that needs it and even those that think they don't. God Bless to all and thank you for the prayers and well wishes that you all send.
Love, Tubby & Shirley

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Shirley (((Hugs))) and give a big one to Tubby for us...will keep our prayers coming that he is able to work hard and get home soon... I know there is No Place Like Home! We always look forward to hearing any news and do so appreciate you taking a moment during the difficult times to let us know what is going on.

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

So glad to hear the move went well and Tubby is settleing in. It won't be an easy time but we know Tubby can be very determined and I'm sure he will give it his all. Is this a hospital where they encourage family involvement? My uncle was in one where the family came and kept him company and helped with his therapy. We were all encouraged to go. I must admit, I think the family presence helped a great deal with his recovery. He is doing fine now. Thank you so much Shirley for keeping us "in the loop". I'm sure you know we think special thoughts for both of you and send prayers for you both as well.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Shirley, that is great news to hear you have moved to another place for rehab. God has been listening, and has answered our prayers for his healing! We will continue to send prayers for Tubby to listen to the nurses, and do as they say! You go home and get a good nights sleep!
LK

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Oh Trisha - are you suggesting Tubby put on some Ruby Slippers? I bet he'd look adorable in them!!
Shirley - what size does he need? LOL
So, Tubby gets "that look" on his face when he doesn't want to do stuff, eh? Roflmao good for him! Sometimes you do have to take "a step back" and let the "authorities" (hospital staff) push him around LOL

Betty - I didn't realize the stabbling pain in my temples and sometime in my eye sockets was due to my jaw being out of alignment. I have the feeling it's a 50/50 thing as to whether my Dr. will allow it to be done. I DO want to be careful, but don't want to have this increasingly frequent "ice pick to the temples" feeling, either. Thing is, I'm such a worrier that I clench my jaw and that makes it worse. I try to relax, but sometimes that's like asking a fish not to swim..........

Anyway, I need to be working (cutting/sewing) on my BOM, due on Dec 15th!

♫♪~Susan~♪♫

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Susan, if you don't have one already, go get a mouth guard, like the sports players wear. use it at night, and it will help with your jaw clenching program.

(Audrey) Dyersburg, TN(Zone 7a)

Tubby and Shirley, I'm so glad for you both! May you have a Merry Christmas and A Happy New Year! Tubby, just keep on keepin' on! You''ll make it!

Betty, I did a granny squares afghan once that I set together with black. It was beautiful! I join them using the back OR front loops, I think it is the front loops!

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Shirley it's great to hear from you and that Tubby is improving. Maybe you'll figure out a way to do some Christmas shopping after all. I'm still praying for your family and that Tubby makes it through this rough time soon and home with bells on.

Betty I did wait too long but it didn't hurt near this bad last week and felt like a pulled muscle more than anything. This week it's killing me but with everyone except Ms. Cheerful and myself out of the office for that conference I need some people back before I can do anything, I mean whose to say he orders me to go home, put it up, and don't do anything. Now it's swollen and doing that slow throbbing pain thing. The drs office has an x-ray tech there so I can just do it there, that's why I just made an appointment.

I apparently don't grit my teeth as bad as I used to, at least the dentist didn't say anything about my teeth showing signs of gritting them like the dentists used to say. Susan one morning probably 10 years ago I woke up and I had been gritting my teeth in my sleep, but the inside of my jaw got involved somehow and you want to talk about pain, I couldn't open my mouth hardly for 2 weeks. I still have the imprint marks of my teeth inside my jaw.

If I'm going to the dr tomorrow I've got to shave my legs, it's been 3 days! See ya'll tomorrow!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Crissy, that is so funny, and so true, gotta shave the legs for the Dr.! ^_^ Hope your feeling better.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Audrey I am so glad to see you posting! Merry Christmas to you and lots of thoughts and prayers are being sent.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning everyone...

Day isn't quite as bad weatherwise as it was yesterday..high winds but roads were fairly clear, just took my time coming in..left extra early because I had to get to the post office..will tell you shortly something that happened to me..lol...

Shirley, thanks for posting..I so laughed when you said you hardly remembered what he looked like in clothing..too cute! Guess he doesn't want to be a handful for the caregivers so you are his only choice to bring up his discontent...men don't make good patients do they? Let's hope that once he settles in he makes great strides and is home for Christmas.. that's 2 weeks away..tell him we're praying and urging him on...warm hugs for you sweetie, know from past experience how long those hospital visits can be, the worry, concern over loved one...we'll have to do something to get him going...give him a kiss will you (or many) showing that we all care and he MUST start his program and give it his all..we NEED him here for our morning joke....

LindaKay, that's just as bad as when my grandmother said always had to wear clean undies, lordy what would happen if you were in an accident and didn't have clean undies...ok..do you realy think they look that closely to your garments..??? lol - which reminds me, think I'd best get mine done and cream..starting to look like alligator skin...yuk...

Crissy, you should be at the doctor's by now? need update please...

Audrey, brought me squares in..sheet says 'sew' another area says crochet together so I'll play a bit..Paul's here this morning but I'm sure he'll soon be off for the day..will give me time to experiment..

Susan, do they call it TMG or TMJ..something of the sort? mouth guard is a great idea...

Barb, what are you sewing? know it must be something with Christmas just weeks away...DIL is doing flannel lounging outfits for all the boys..I'm tempted to go purchase flannel and make 2 of the 4 gransons rag quilts..Melanie my DIL makes them for her boys but not sure she's made them for Caleb and Braedon...must give her a call tonight...

Posted some Christmas cards this morning...should be here putting a few more together...receiving a lot so best I get moving before they arrive after Christmas...

Do you all send out cards? it's almost a thing of the past isn't it?

Victoria Harbour, ON

Just realized I didn't tell you about my encounter this morning...

Drove to Barrie and went to the Post Office, seems when I use Barrie office parcels/letters get there much quicker, perhaps they go to a different sorting brand I don't know..

As I drove along the side of the mall a man was in a motorized wheel chair, I was driving towards him and a vehicle just passed him...I saw that he became agitated and was rambling on as I approached, so I stopped opened my window and said 'sir, were you speaking to me' he said he was angry with the man who just passed him much to quickly and to me said 'and why don't you mind your *&^%&** business' OK and Merry Christmas to you! guess you can't be nice to some...

I haven't read through it, but at least it shows the name lol

~Susan~

LOL Betty I got to the dr at 8:50am and didn't get out of there until 11:00!

I spent 3 hours getting x-rays and blood work, he's 95% sure I have gout with a 5% possibility it could be Morton's neuroma. I have to get some Prednisone filled today and he said that the acids might may or may not be high in the blood if it's gout. The best way to tell is when I'm finished taking the Presnisone if it's gout it will more than likely be gone until who knows when, if it's Morton's neuroma it will come right back, immediately. I'm rooting for the gout because I really don't want to get a shot in the nerve, right in the thickest part of my foot, and it's deep too.

Positively Speaking - DO YOU BELIEVE????

Have you ever heard someone say "I'll believe it when I see it?" Chances are that you have even said it yourself. Usually it is spoken as an expression of skepticism and disbelief in the possibility of a successful outcome to an idea or endeavour...

The reality however, is just the opposite... "IF you don't believe it, you'll never see it". In order to achieve anything in life we must first believe it is possible, that the outcome desired can be achieved. Our belief is our motivation, this determines the amount of action we take, action is what makes things happen!

Without belief you have no motivation and that means no action, in turn, that leads to no results. You can't see what you don't believe.

Helen Keller once said that the only thing worse than having no sight was 'having sight but no vision". A vision is a belief in what can be, what can be is never determined by what is.

All the motivational speakers agree on one thing, 'if you believe, you can do something, you will be highly motivated to achieve. On the other hand, if you don't believe then you will not have the motivation to achieve'.

So when we say, 'I'll believe it when I see it' what we are doing is saying "I can't do that," I'm not going to try. We rob ourselves of the ability to achieve and make a differenc ein our lives and that of those around us...

Believe in your mind and heart Tubby, then you will see that you'll be home for Christmas with family and friends and we your DG friends....

I believe, do you?
