This is her loom with the loops stretched on in one direction...now she will go back from the other direction with a crochet hook and weave loops through the other direction then finish off the edges.
Best/Worse/What did I learn today?
Hey Betty, yes those kids are so smart. So nice of you to give him more gifts for donations to the needy.
Please tell me what staging is? You said Bernice's daughter does staging.
Trisha, sounds like SAge is having fun making all those squares from the loom. I had one of those years ago, when I was about her age. They were lots of fun.
Good night everyone. Stay warm!
Hello All !
Trisha - I remember making pot holders like that when I was Sage's age...Actually - I think I still have one! That's awesome and a great way to introduce her to crafting...
Barb - I love Home Makeover too! I call it "The show that makes me cry".
Betty - Kyle is such a special young man....I remember him helping with the walk/run for cancer...now he's helping kids-less-fortunate at Christmas. Let's hope he becomes a Politician....would be so different than some that we have...but as community minded as he is...wouldn't he be great! I'd vote for him!
Betty - I think your decorating style is awesome...I see it can put one in the Christmas spirit! Some young folks can be so opinionated and judgemental.....that show doesn't take into account heirlooms, memories, making something yourself... etc....
I can understand your being emotional around the holidays....Mom passed away 11/27...and I had some bad days last week...one was right after we decorated the Christmas tree. Maybe that's why I find myself doing things we did growing up....like making the fondue tonight...
The parties were nice....DH can talk to anyone ...so he is an asset....I still haven't found out anything on the "new business" deal...
Walked the parade with DS and DSD1 today....Our last parade (Me & DS).
The sun came out and no rain.....70 degree's ! Louisiana weather is crazy.
Hugs to all,
Mary
70 degrees, lordy that's almost our summer weather..it's milder here this morning, infact I got up early, concerned about the freezing rain they were calling for, so far so good, so will not go back to bed, I'll just sit and enjoy the early morning..
Barb sounds as though we both enjoyed a bit of relaxation, much deserved for both of us..are you almost done your sewing projects..are they for Christmas and what is it you are making?
Linda Kay, 'staging' is an interior decorator with special talents, come into your home and use mostlly what you presently have, set it so that it looks it's best..Sharon my sister leaves for the islands this week, while she's away she's having staging but has given them mega $$$ to purchase what is needed for it...her home is like walking into a showplace, only thing I find is there is NO warmth, it's like nobody lives there..although beautiful I don't see family heirlooms, any photo's of the children, no collection..at least Michelle would stage my place keeping what I have or most of it...we'll see..
Trisha thanks for the photo, I'll be on the lookout for one...she must be thrilled to death at what she's accomplished this weekend...will they be Christmas gifts..if you are like me, I enjoy teaching the kids a craft so they can give them as Christmas gifts for grandparents/mom & dad..at an age now Kyle does same projects as my workshop..thrilled..in fact last night he went to the bank machine and got $20. asked me if I could pick up lights/ birds for his other grandma's gift... so at lunch I'll head to garden gallery...
Mary, Kyle is indeed a special young man, I've only heard great comments about his caring ways, thinking about others...yes, wouldn't that make a great politician..I'd be worried they'd turn his spirit into another direction..
So the fondue turned out ok...again, it's on my list for Christmas Eve...must dig out the various recipe's I have...usually I keep all of the booklets, lets hope I've kept that one..I've time this morning, should go look..
Nov. 27th..we've something bonding Mary, my DH Roger's anniversary and Bill's birthday so the emotions run rampid from that date onwards...think Kyle could see I'd been crying but he's much too much a gentleman to ask me why.. but we did talk about those less fortunate, no homes, no trees, no families..out of the blue he said ' you are lucky though grandma, you have a nice home and family and even though you live alone we're always nearby' so guess that was his way of addressing the situation..lol
When Melanie and Noah came in, Greg was at the funeral home for the father of a friend, Noah told me about his game, all dressed to a t - love the fact that they have to wear dress clothes to go to their hockey game, looks so professional..before he left got a big kiss and a 'I love you grandma'..dries up the tears real quick..
So enough for today of my sappiness...
Enjoy your morning everyone
Morning everyone. Betty you were up so early. Don't fall asleep on the way home! Beautiful colors in the afghan. What size are your squares?
Please let us know what recipes you use for the fondue sets? Sounds really good.
Thanks for the explantion of staging. I have never heard of that.
Please don't ever think your house is not worthy of anything. I think your home is very comfy and inviting.
Have a good day everyone!
Each square LindaKay is 3 rounds only, maybe 4"..beautiful ride in this morning..
The mamogram facility called on Friday to say I had appt. this afternoon..actually I had called mid Nov. to find out the date, they said they had no booking for me and booked after me waiting 3 months an appt. in January..all of a sudden they found my appt. TODAY..so unless there are 2 facilities and I got it wrong, I'll leave early today and do it while weather is ok..just incase we've a blizzard on the January date..
Thanks for comments about my home, I'm comfy, my type of decor but when you listen to others when they enter homes such as mine, well let's just say it's not very complimentary...lol
Betty, I call your style country cozy and that's how I like mine too. I don't give a hoot about what anyone else thinks!!!!! Norm and I are happy and that's what counts.....
I'm glad to hear of Kyle's visit. Somehow he seemed to know you needed him just then. He reminds me very much of my Brandon. Imagine a boy of 14 opening doors for his grandmother.
Off shopping. Have a great day eneryone...
Betty - your home is what I wish mine were.
♫♪~Susan~♪♫
You are toooo sweet Susan..how's it going..weather co-operating for you..hear it's beyond freezing in your neck of the woods...
Leaving in 1 hr. have test at hospital, breaks up the day..lol..lots I can entertain myself with when I get home..
It's -32 here! With NO windchill - only a 6k wind......
Did you hear that Edmonton got the coldest temp in Canada, on Sunday? poor Annabell52!!!
I filled my car this am - it was down to 1/4 tank, and that's not good for frigid temps.
It's supposed to get to PLUS 4 on Wed! Gotta love those Chinooks, but oh, the migraines and headaches some get from the sudden barometer change!! I'm lucky to Not be in that number........
We're supposed to get to plus 4 on Wed, and this is also supposed to be the coldest we're getting now. From here on in it's going to get slowly warmer (-22 tonight....)
Lots of snow now though.
~Susan~
Mary the bummer is that I've never had problems with my feet. I'm just a baby and he even said I'm way too young for this, usually when gout strikes a female it has to do with menopause, I'm not even close to that yet! The dr said that he wanted to do blood work to see if my uric acids were high in my blood, but if they weren't that didn't mean it wasn't gout, could be that the acids were high at some point in the not so far distant past. He said when his nurse got the blood work back he would have them call me and set up a follow up appointment and wrote it in my chart. I got a notice in the mail when I got home tonight from work saying that my uric acids were perfect and there will be no further treatment, so someone didn't read the chart and determine what the dr wants to do. I only have one prednisone to take tonight, then two tomorrow, then one the following day and I'm done and I have to say it hasn't done alot, just got rid of the shooting throbbing pains in my foot and is giving me hot/cold flashes and mood swings, but it's still swollen, still can't hardly walk on it, so I guess I'm going to call the dr when I'm done with the prednisone and see if he would like to schedule an MRI. Good Grief.
Shirley thanks for the update! I'm praying Tubby gets to go home by Christmas, he has been in the hospital way way too long.
Mary my hibiscus are freeze burnt too, but I think they'll come back. I'm not going to do anything with mine until the frost is gone, then I'll clip them. Don't know if that's right, but sometimes the dead branches will protect the part that's still alive. Just a thought...
Hello To All;
Hello Betty - Yes the fondue tasted great...I was just a bit bummed out that DH and DSD1 weren't here...so wasn't as a "Family". I have the 2 recipies I used...if you would like ...I can share...they are VERY basic....the cheese fondue is very yummy...Mom would make sauces for the meat (I did as well...) but to change things up a bit...I made up 3 different marinades for the meat....so we have an assortment.
It is a beautiful thing that even in your sadness....you were able to make it educational for the Grandkids...to remind them of 'those less fortunate". Mom was like that...in fact...when she found out that she was terminal...she told me... "this will be educational for the kids"....I will never forget that. She had 3 college degrees. I miss her so much...
Okay - getting teary ...time to change the Subject!
Beautiful afghan!
LK - what are you up to these days? Do you have some Hibiscus plants? and if so...when do you cut them back?
Oh - Barb! what a wonderful picture...a 14 yr old boy opening up doors for dear Grandmother! I took DS & DSD2 out to dinner the other night...and DS opened up the door for us...I am SO proud when he does that!
MCS! (My Cheerful Susan) :) Wishing for some warmth your way. What is a chinook?
I LOVE having DG friends in the other areas of our beautiful world!
Meant to ask my Canadian Friends.....had a Sales seminar the other day (on "Branding Your Product)...and the presenter made a point of asking us what the TOP brands were (toothpaste, laundry detergent, etc.) ....He THEN made a point of asking about Brands of Tires...
And then he pointed out something different about Branding in the US vs. Canada....
SO - what comes to mind as your TOP Brand of Tires?
(I'll answer back later)
It'll be interesting to see if the answers follows his presentation....
Hugs to All....
Mary
Hello Crissy ! ♪♫♪♫
we cross-posted!
I am so sorry to hear about the health problems.....I do think of you as the 'baby' of our DG family...you are about 36-38 or so...as I remember... way too young for such problems...
I am 44....
Wondering when the Menopause thing is supposed to hit...I SURE NUFF had hormonal tears last week after the Christmas Tree was decorated but I chalked that up to missing Mom......
Do you think maybe a second opinion?
Please keep us posted!
Last winter was my first winter for my hibiscus... (My new favorite flower) ...and I think I cut them back in Feb.....someone on the Hibbies posts had posted something about cutting them back...
Well - They all came back beautifully ....except one ...which I put in a pot....
I really am enjoying this new job BUT where I used to sneak off and work my way home...NOW I do NOT...so it's been dark every day...and I haven't stepped foot in my back yard for weeks....afraid of what I'll see when I finally do......
Hugs Crissy !
Mary
Whew! I got way behind over the weekend!
Let's see if I remember some questions. Dave's company is Hawker Beechcraft, they sell million dollar private jets, so when there's a downturn in the market that business is always the first to fall and the last to come back. What do you do? He's still talking about barber school, I'll support him but it really worries me.
We get Christmas Eve off, Christmas Day off, and New Year's Day off. My busiest time of year is right before Jan 1st, so I'm not taking any holiday time off, I save it for when we go on vacation in the spring, if we go next year. I have a condo reserved for the last week of April at Daytona Beach, but I might have to let it go, we'll see.
Well I'm going to go rest my foot and my attitude and take another Prednisone. Sorry I seem so down, I'm really not! LOL I think the batteries are going south in this cordless keyboard, I keep typing 5's and y's when I'm not hitting those keys LOL
Hopefully I'll see ya'll tomorrow!
We did cross post!!
See Mary you're too young for this sort of thing too!! LOL You're good, I turned 37 November 3rd.
I'm going to call in the morning and ask someone to read my chart and find out exactly what he wanted to do, that way they see the mistake and I get in faster and don't have to explain anything else. If he doesn't want to schedule an MRI, which I'm positive he will, I'll have him refer me to a foot dr.
I know exactly how you feel about the dark!! I leave the house at 7:30am and don't get home until 6pm, and with it so cold lately I haven't been outside on the weekends very much either. I have no idea what's going on with my flowerbed along the fence across the acre. I'm just going to leave everything alone and hopefully what's supposed to come back will. If not oh well, I get to plant new plants! LOL
So far, I have not had the hibiscus die on me. Only one went dormant, and that was the huge dinner plate sized one, but it came back fuller than ever. All the others are tropicals, and they stay green year round. They were not affected by the freeze we had last week. Everyting else in the garden is gone, pulled out, or cut back.
Crissy, sure hope those steroids work for you. It sure is tough, when the Dr. does not know what is going on, and has to keep guessing.
My opinion for a top brand of tire is the goodyear tires.
Betty where are you at. Last post said you were going to the hospital. Hope all is well.
Good night everyone. Stay warm.
Morning, can't gab long, will do so when I get to the office..
Yep..goodyear is my guess as well...make them not far from here, actually was in a suburb of Toronto, most likely a city of it's own now...I'll have to look that up Mary..
YES would love the recipe...
In a hurry, storm brewing so want to get out of here, take my time to get to Barrie...then, I've all day to gab and respond to the posts....
Trisha, wrote you a long post, included photo and must have pressed 'cancel' rather than send..so here it goes once again...
I purchased a magazine on my way to work today and they had the cutest project for young ladies to make, called Puttin' on the glitz!
You will need:
9 wrapped green peppermint candies
1/8" red ribbon - 3 yards (am sure if you had green or white it would be ok)
8 - 1/2 jingle bells
Scissors
cut eight pieces of ribbon, 9" in length..rest will be saved for the ends of the necklace
Hold two pieces of candy together, overlapping them to line up the spots where the wrappings are twisted..tie them together, thread a bel through the ribbon and finish with a bow
Tie all nine candies together and trim ribbon ends. cut remaining ribbon in half and tie one piece to each end to complete the necklace
Goodyear tires are awful. They don't warranty them. I had a set of Eagles that split down the black wall after getting 10,000 miles on them and Good Year said "Too Bad!!!" So I said Too Bad to them! NASCAR has a hard time with them too. Dunlops, Michelin, Bridgestone, BF Goodrich are excellent, Toyo's are the best but boy are they expensive! The best cheapest and what I have on my Nissan Rogue are Dunlops, came with the car and I have 56,000 on it and they still look good, but would look better if I didn't corner so fast! LOL
Look at those!! How cute Betty!
Crissy, how's the foot today? Have you called the Doctor's office yet?
I live in snow country, don't purchase expensive tires, drive a wee car and to me they work fine...think sometimes you are purchasing name only for the big $$$
Left early this a.m. - was going to drive to Canal Road near Toronto to the rose distributor because I'm doing floral arrangements tomorrow night with the girls, started to snow, roads were icy so did a change in plan..
Went to Home Depot to get wood for 2 of those lantern pieces..Kyle wanting one and I decided I'd do one for Suzanne...omg I was the only one there at that time of morning, gentleman cut to measure all my boards..ended up with enought to make 3 so that was good..now I have to find a recipient for the 3rd....not easy to do as I've either got gifts or I'm making floral arrangements for some..I'm sure I'll find a home for it...lol
So my morning ws productive...
Dropped into Walmart to look for birds and more greenery for the same project..no go so it's Garden Gallery at lunch time, Kyle wants to come over one night this week so trying to get all supplies in order...
Good Tuesday morning!!
Well, another mighty busy weekend done!
Julia's birthday was very nice. We went to Olive Garden for dinner and then she had a couple of friends come over.
Thank you for the birthday greeting to her...She loved her Keychain i made her. Wasn't expecting anything since we already gave her workboots. LOL, I was thrilled, even though I made a ton of mistakes, but lol it is niicely tight, the way it's suppose to be...
At the end of the night, We spent a great amount of time in a mother and daughter embrace, brought tears to my eyes since she's had quite the first twenty years, i just pray and am so Thankful for my Gift of this Baby Girl of mine.
Was a very big bummer we didn't put up Our decorations as is traditional. Julia was sick! Still sick, but moving along.
Now she works late into the evening so not sure when the decorations will go up, oh well everthying in it's own time.
Sunday DH and i went to Our Cuz for Dinner, was a very nice small gathering. What was extra nice was Our other Cuz was able to come too...
Mary, so nice you had a good time at DH's Christmas party! Awe, Did, you shed a few tears at the parade? It's tough knowing it will be the last one, I cried like a baby at Julia's last performance...lol.
Well, Wow, I am entirely Jelous you have 70* weather!!
Crissy, Oh my goodness, so sorry to hear of the medical issues. I will pray the Doc finds out, hopefully this NOT Gout! Yikes.
Lets hope the MRI will show something more enlightening and you can get proper treatment, poor baby, sending you a big Armwrap(((((Crissy)))))
What wonderful News for Tubby!!! Going to Rehab, Keeping you in prayers that you can go home to Shirely and family in time for Christmans! You keep up the excellent work. Shirley thank you for always keeping us in the know. Sending you big gentle Armwraps too.
((((((Tubby & Shirley))))))
Oh my gosh! Trisha, what a wonderful way to spend the weekend. Sage is one little darling. I absolutley love the photos, especially the one of her holding her angel, Just precious they both are.
OH Linda kay, how great that you knee is ok!! Geeze I sure hope I read right about that.
I hope you Hibiscus come back. My goodness i have one, from the first Raise my baby swap.
Never liked the out doors, so i keep her in my living room, she seems to like it there. Thought i lost her a couple of times, but she is now filling up with tleaves again...I am so hopeing I will get a flower this year. I will certainly be dancing and beeming with happiness. Also have a Brug from 2nd swap, well, it didn't grow very tall, I asked jaye what i should do, brought her in and I think she is doing ok...So wishing you best of luck with yours, hope they come back too.
Audrey, Ohhhh, I was so thrilled to see(in another thread) that your little one will indeed have a Christmas! Toys for Tots is a spectacular program...Sabrina and i are going to wrap gifts this afternoon and every aft, for next couple of days. It is something special for us both to do together.
Saturday, I did mangage to work a bit on some crafts, but that got put on back burner as again burned the heck out of 2 more fingers, Blisters and all, geesh will have to use some trweezers. but now almost done..goal is to mail everything by end of this week.
Dh, asked me to work on cleaning a condo for him, yesterday...LOL, he said it would only be a couple of hours, yeah right, I wasa there 7.5 hours, but the place looks and smells spectacular. OMG, I am paying for it though. My lungs are really irritated and I have the nastiest head clog! From all the sawdust and soot, what a mess, next time i will wear a mask!!
Wow, Betty...I love all of your Decorations! I think people should not say anything if they don't like a style, it's just rude.
I think you home is very comfy and so very Country.
Oh now wow, How cool to have your home staged! think it's a neat idea, but wondering, because you already have it situated so beautifully, will be neat to see.
Awe, your Boys are so very special. You should be proud!! I love how they are taking special time for you, that is such the sweetest gift ever.
I know this is such a hard time a year for you. and Mary, You ladies should try not to dwell on getting teary eyed, Of course you miss your loved ones, You certainly are not alone there. We have each other and whatever you or anyone wants to remember about the Loved one is so important to be able to talk about. Personally, There is NO getting over it, it was a part of your life that was devistating and it's up to you and God how long it takes to overcome the sadness. i too miss my Mumma horribly, not only her but OMG, my sisters and many others...You have lost the loves of your life during the holiday season, so my friends, I hope and pray you do Think of them and Smile on the Love you shared. I am sure they are rejoicing in all the wonderful accomplishments you have endured in their absence, only from sight, not heart. right?
Well, I have written a journal, sorry...LOL what happens when busy keeps me from all you. I sure have tried to keep up, just can't always post right now.
I hope ALL of you know, you are always with me in spirit.
I love you, Don't ever forget that.
Yikes now, I have to get moving, took a while to catch up and write this journal, lol.
Waiving hello to all, hope you are well, BEV, Barb, Debbie, Susan, and everyone I've unintentionally missed.
Have a marvelous day, shopping, creating and just plain loving.
Jude.
awwwwwwww pictures of the little ones - I love 'em!! ^_^
chinook = warm wind (it can change the weather drastically 70F (20c) in one day.
f'instance - We're going from -30c (22F) to 2c (35F) in a couple of days this week.
Never know what to wear to work in the am lol
Susan unless it is above 70 degrees - then it is fleece for me.. I HATE feeling cold.....
Hate to say hi and run, just got in from shopping and have to head out for spin class.....
Love the candy necklaces!!!
Hi!! This was the worse day I've had with my foot thus far. I don't have an MRI scheduled, I was thinking about asking for one.
((((((((HHHHHUUUUUUGGGGGGGGGSSSSSSSSS)))))))
Here's the scoop:
It's come down to either I go get that shot or he'll refer me to a foot specialist. I don't know what to do. He still hasn't told me how to control it myself and I don't know what can be mixed with Prednisone and what can't so I haven't been taking anything, until today, I got mad, said forget it I'll treat it myself, and took two Ibuprofen at 5pm and it's feeling a little better. I don't want that shot!! LOL
What would you all do, go get the shot (the needle will be inserted between my big toe and the toe beside it and pushed all the way up to the center of my foot where the joint is) or go to the specialist?
Judy!! I'm so glad Julia liked her birthday!
Betty glad your morning was productive! That's great!
Well I'm going to go see what I can get into with painting snowmen and all. Catch ya'll later!
Me too, Marion, me too.................
BUT we don't have tornadoes, hurricanes, tse tse flies, and other tropical diseases.......
Yes, we get sick, but not as much as warmer climes..... survey said so!!! LOL
♫♪~§usan~♪♫
Hello All my Wonderful DG Friends!
Well - you guys have proven the All-Knowing, Marketing Genious Speaker Wrong. :) LOL.....re: TIRES.....
According to his "Branding Speech"....U.S. Citizens would say many different tire brands...Ya'll mostly said "Goodyear"....although many others were mentioned....BUT the point of his Speech...was that Canadians would unanimously say "Canadian Tire"....because supposedly...the Canadian Tire company has branded itself very well in Canada....But no one has mentioned it. Hmmmm........LOL!
Betty - Dmail me if you want...I will send Mom's Fondue recipes...and our "modifications" to them.....
Betty- love the candy necklaces! That would be a great project for a little girl Christmas party....Trisha - maybe Sage is still young enough to enjoy?
YAY! To hear from Judy...my "twin".... I love your "Journals" ! I do tend to write a book myself.... We are so close in what we go through... DS had "LAST Band Christmas Concert" tonight... this is a tough age...with all the "Lasts"... wish I could "attach" the music....you would all love it. My prayers to Julia that she gets well.. Can you still decorate? or is it just too much to do....
Now - we need to hear from the other "twin"...Debbie....Are you lurking?
Thanks Susan for the Chinook definition...AND thanks for putting Farenheit...I just can't envision "c's" :)
Crissy - I just could not make that decision...maybe get a second opinion? UGH! How horrible...but it's awesome that you have such a good attitude about it... I don't think I'd be able to....
Susan...You are right...we may have 70 degree's in December...but I think I've read somewhere that those in colder climes Live Longer! (I think of the stuff in my freezer...they may have something there! LOL!)
Well - you all stay warm....I'll pop back on in a bit to see if the "Nightwatch" is around...
Hugs,
Mary
Hey Crissy, I would wait to go see the specialist, and see what he has to say. Maybe then they can numb you up for that shot, and not do surgery.
crissy I HATE NEEDLES! And my mom made me get a flu shot today!
Oh yes Mary.....if it has anything to do with candy Sage will be all over it!!!
Shopping with Laura , doctors appointment with mom, spin class, drinks with a friend for Oregon....I am completely tuckered out and a pizza is in the oven....I am done in for the night.
Mary - you Truly had me LOL on the freezer comment.
LOL Quote - "I think of the stuff in my freezer...they may have something there!" LOLI'm picturing myself kept in the Deep Freeze!!!!
You're welcome on the "F" instead of "c", cuz I know sometimes I have probs converting them!
Well, made 3 more gift baskets tonight, so that makes 7, but DH took one to his bowling league party tonight, as the "$5 to $10" gift table offering. I figure the ingredients and the basket cost more than that, but what the heck....... it's easier than figuring out one gift to put on the table.
Anyway, he should be home soon, so I'd better get busy and clean up!!! lol
♫♪~§usan~♪♫
Morning,
Again this morning I'm on the run, blizzard conditions here, know we must go to work today sooo will venture out early..last night I left the office and it wasn't bad..hit the snow belt about 3 miles down the road and yuk, took me almost 2 hrs. to get home..you couldn't see in front of you, actually had to look in snow to see tire marks ahead of you..can tell you, NOT fun...Kyle had called me at work to ask if he could come and finish his Christmas pressies, had said yes, but by the time I got home I called and said we'd make it another day, ended up going to bed early..
Will go back and read your posts when I get to work...
Stay safe...
P.S. Mary, how could I not have guessed Canadian Tire..there is not a week that goes by I'm not in that store purchasing something on sale..which reminds me, must drop in today, the have trio scissors, sharp and nice handled grip, regular $24.99 on sale for $4.99...once every 2 or 3 months same sale goes on, just used my last box in pantry to give as a gift, so time to stock up again...
til later, enjoy your day..
Mary "the Canadian Tire company has branded itself very well in Canada." Since we don't have Canadian Tire here of course no one would mention it. Is he trying to promote something in the US that's not sold in the US, then wonders why no one recommends it? If so, what a nerd! LOL Betty talks about going all the time and I wanna go see!
The shot sounds horrible until Susan starts talking about getting her jaw reconstructed, then it doesn't sound so bad! Thank you Susan! Love you Girl!
So I talked to Dave and my mom last night about my foot, they both think that the specialist is going to suggest the same thing my dr is, and he can numb me up too, so I made an appt to see my dr, who I already know and trust, to do this. I'm going to try to con him out of some Celebrex first LOL! I'm just glad he's trying to get to the root of the problem fast instead of dragging it out.
BRRR from stormy Ontario...
I'm so glad you all are in warmer climates, perhaps not you Susan..this is the snowbelt and now I know why...it's a sheet of white out there, not trying to get home early because it would be dangerous so might as well stay and brave it out in hopes that by late afternoon it will stop...
Glad you've decided on seeing your own Dr. Crissy..yep, you'll have to come visit me just so we can visit Canadian Tire and yes, my most favorite store of all..bits of everything there but you know how I am with tools...
I'll have to brave the storm at lunch though..a trip to Michaels..need 4 balls of wool to finish this afghan..times running on and still a fair amount to do, which I could be doing here but need wool in order to do so...
Susan you make me laugh..aren't husbands just too much..I'd have everything organized and at the last minute Roger would say he needed a gift for this one or that one, it was as though he thought I was running a christmas store and had gifts just there for the taking...I've seen us as a family (because I taught paper tole Roger bought framing and mat cutting tools) we'd sit early Christmas eve, finding watercolors or oils I had painted and he'd get the boys doing the matts and he'd do frames just so we'd have enough gifts..all the time his saying it was me who was Christmas crazy but got to tell you he was too...so it's great you make the baskets, you'll just have to make more to make sure you've enough..lol...know about some gifts costing far more than what you are to spend but you have to do what you have to do...
LindaKay, did you finish those deers you were doing last year for your collection? have you added a few more this year..photo's please...
Looking for Debbie as well..if you are lurking Debbie, how's your daughter and how's the family doing..of course you especially..are you getting some of the weather I've had this week...mom want to go Boxing Day to USA if we don't go to Florida...getting tired of Buffalo, do you have any other suggestions for us???
Judy, sounds as though you are busy with family..how nice that is..no better time..the kids will be grown to the point of leaving the nest and you'll have all of those memories...so what's crafting? should have listened to the Chicago station which I usually do in the a.m. so I'd know what weather you are having, but today, busy listening to local news just in case of road closures....
Can't move my labtec more than inches from computer, normally if I faced it towards the door you'd see SOMETHING...today it's completely white with snow blizzard..
Hope you are all warm, comfy and doing exactly what you want to be doing...
Morning everyone. Betty, and Susan, sorry to hear your weather is getting nasty. Please drive careful, if you have to go out!
Betty, I have not been to my work area in a while. I was going to do them last year, but other t hings got in the way, and this year, my knee is killing me, so it won't happen again this year. Maybe I will start them this coming summer, so they will be done for next Christmas?
Anyone heard from Laura down under? I have not seen her posting in awhile. I do hope she is OK. I heard on the news a few days ago, that lots of Australia is having lots of wild fires!
Shirley, anymore updates on Tubby. How are the nurses doing getting him through therapy?
Crissy, please let us know what your Dr, says about your toes.
LK
Mid forties and pouring rain here today!
Betty I know what you mean about time getting away....for my birthday Laura gave me a book of Needle Felting instructions...(I haven't done any for several years) There is one for an Australian Shepherd and she wants me to make one for her to give her grandmother for Christmas. My MIL's dog looks like the one in the picture. Her dog is almost 14 and her health is failing and Laura wanted her to have a replica of Pepper and also one of Buddy, her younger dog. I am out of practice and need to back into it very soon in addition we have several leather orders for the Bike Shop to get finished up and the days are passing very quickly.
Hugs and prayers to all, we have friend visiting from Oregon and I am going to be late to lunch if I don't get moving.
