Hope your nerves are settleing down now Betty. That would have sent me over the edge!!! I'm just so grateful nothing serious happened to either of you.
Judy we have all gone through the "What do you do all day?" thing at one time or another. When it happened to me with my ex I just stopped doing anything and when he complained, I told him now he knows what I do all day!!!! Amazing what some dirty dishes and laundry will tell someone...I love your wreath - it's really very pretty.
LK glad to see you got your camera back. Your new DIL looks like she could be a lot of fun. Glad your son is happy.
Off to the sewing room for a while. Helping a friend with a quilt for her Mom.
Hope everyone has a good night with lots of rest....
Best/Worse/What did I learn today?
Good morning all. Where is everybody?????? Coffee's ready with doughnuts too....
We are still under the warm blankets! LOL!
Thanks for the coffee, I think were all going to need something warm today!
It's just starting to flurry here. We are due for snow tonight. We shall see!!!!
Hello!
Oh goodness Gracious Betty, What a scare you had!! I hope you are settled down. Thank God there was no other cars, Angels were with you and the man yesterday...
Thank You Ladies on my wreath!
Linda Kay, The wreaths are actually pretty simple to make. I saved the forms from ones we bought in the past. You just layer the branches over eachother and wire tie them to the form as you go. I usually then add another row to the outer form lol, for good measure.
...You can get the forms from any craft store, The large one I purchased for Mrs B. was only 2.99. I hope you'll give it a try, really it just takes a little time...But do save your hands and wear good fitting pair of thick gloves.
OMG, when it rains it pours! The altinator fried on Steve's van now. Thankfully he was able to make it to the mechanic, just in time. LOL, only one in town and luckily they had 1 alternator, only open until 3 and no other vehicles to work on at the moment and extra bit of luck, an extra loaner car! So he didn't have to sit around for a couple of hours...Geesh we were just talking about how everything with these cars seem to go all at one time and of course, it's got to be at bill and holiday time. Geesh. Well I guess better now then on the road somewhere...
Yesterday was a full day of running again...The Youth Center is really very nice! Sabrina will be going once a week and very reasonable, only 15.00 a session. I'll gladly pay it for her to have a sounding place...We were there for 2.5 hours. We've had some very rough waters in the last 10 years and i guess it's all just coming to a head for Breenie. Remember, How She got in touch with this group to help her friend who was having major problem?? Well, i told the counselor, how My girls intervined, she remembered the situation...Anyway, the two got along right away, so that was a very good thing. Sabrina is going to go next weekend to help wrap gifts. I will go one day too. We love wrapping presents! Oh and even better, I now have a place to donate all the school and childrens books we
have! So next week, i will unload woohooo, more space!
Oh Barb, were excited to see the first snow? I was, lol, just like a kid...Ok now I seen it, it could stop, yeah right, just the beginning.
It's cold here today, but the sun is shining. Got to run to Michaels for a few things...Woohoo, going to start my snowmen this weekend.
So made a list of paints and Podge, yikes, i am out and need some more!
Woohooo, jacob won the wrestling match last night and Just got the txt...Won his match this morning too!!
LOL, boy is excited too, cant blame him he works very hard. Here was his txt. 6 and 0 hahaha i am the champion i am the champion haha i win.
Awe, thank you for hoping my finger heals fast. Leaving bandaid off today so it gets some air. looks awfully ugly. Wouldn't you know it's the first place for birdie to take a chomp at!
Oh...I have a question, is it weird that she drops her food in water bowl? Feathers never did that. Skittles does and then fishes for it later.lol
LOL Barb, a good way to let the Dh's see when everything gets stopped. I have done that before as well. LOL, maybe it's time for the maid to die again. Now only problem with that is now that i have a somewhat uncluttered house, I am on this clean as i go kick. Starting to drive me insane to see things out of place...Roflol, Betty, being short myself all the higher up stuff does tend to get missed, geesh, i would have handed him a rag, while he was at it, do you a favor, lol. Well got to love them DH's for all their way, heaven knows he puts up with all my crazyness.
So whats on everyones agenda today?
OH By the Way, Waiving a mighty Hello to you too Bev...How are you doing these days, havent seen you post in a while. Hope all is well with you and Scotty and pets! Hows our little powder?
OK, better get moving with something here, Jake will be calling soon.
Hey Judy, next time I am at a craft store, I will look of rone of the frames.
It is normal for birds to drop food in the water. My Paco does it all the time. Guess he likes to dunk his food?
Congrats on your son being the champ! Way to go!
Seems like all out electronics goes out at the same time too. First it was out computer harddrive, then it was our router, now it is vehicle batteries!
Please show us your snowman when he is done?
In regards to Tubby being ornery, Most pain meds have that effect on people and especially anthstesia, it really does make people crabby and agitated, plus pain and some amp the person, even if it does not to most people. Like me, with vicodin, it is a stimulant that keeps me agitated on on edge, when I am in pain after surgery, I want to sleep but it took a few surgeries till we realized it was the Vicodin that made me amped.
Quick pop in before Church tonight.... had to go out and help mom buy a new car today...the old one gave up. This is a happy mom with her new Camry! I love it, and I usually drive her car more than she does!!
18* here this morning....may get a few snowflakes this week...but nothing to write any letters about....can't help it I Love Snow!!!!
I'm back from Edmonton - Got there safely, and home safely too.
Saw about 40 cars in the ditch, Plus 4 18-wheelers that were jack-knifed......
Good thing Bob had that 1000 lb metal block in his truck bed, and the diesel engine is heavier than most engines.
We were so stable it was wonderful!
Tired now, so going to watch a movie "Blizzard" with Whoopie Goldberg...
after just being in a blizzard, it's kinda funny, doncha think?
Chat atcha Monday
oh - btw - We went to Edmonton to go to my DH's company Christmas Party.
I got off early Thurs to do stuff for my boss... think that answers your question, Judy?
♫♪~Susan~♪♫

Mary
Mary it is so funny, that is why I just gave up on this thread. I love, love, love all the people of the thread, but I would miss a day or more and never be able to read all the posts and respond to them and it made me feel so guilty that it hurt me. I felt like a bad friend, then it became all about me, I felt, since I was unable to keep up. When I did, I could visit no other thread, with my limited time on the computer, while working. Now I am not and I still can not keep up. lol
Dawn
Morning,
Oh Dawn & Mary, sweetie it just doesn't matter if you read through the thread to catch up or just let us know how you are doing, or a simple 'hi' just love reading your posts, knowing your best and your worse..I always smile when I see you names having posted, you have no idea how much joy it brings!
Can you imagine, I slept till 9am, of course I didn't get to get until 2:30am but still usually I feel guilty..
Here I am, in my p.j.'s, light snow falling, living room tree lit, coffee in hand and an entire day ahead of me just to do as I please...now that is something....no more rushing, no more fretting that all my events/workshops go without a hitch..all behind me, another great year..now I play!
Today's goal, is taking out my washed material and get my 'blocks' done for a few months..hopefully that goes well..
Susan, glad you enjoyed you Christmas party...
Judy as always you've so much going on, congrats to Jacob..days are clicking are you doing crafts today?
Trisha, going to finish this post and go back and look at photo..so many times I click and lose my post..lol..
Joel Olsteen ministries is on in a few minutes so need to rush off but will be back during the day, why? because I've loads of time to play ...lol..
Close your eye, Jeff is a card and always playing with some program and putting our head on different photo set-ups, this time we got him..lol
Always nice having my boys together and with me...
The evening before both Kyle and Noah called and asked if they could come over for a 'sleep over'..such a calming effect to have the young ones, safely tucked into bed..
Noah's sooo affectionate, always giving hugs/kisses and I love you's...they are getting big with lives of their own. As he left he said, 'miss you grandma, will try to drop in more often' can't put a pricetag on that can you?
Big downstairs red.room and craft room which I cleaned and decorated but everyone wanted to stay upstairs...
Paul , BIL and boss, is the gentleman on the left...
With all the lights I had on outside and pressies under the tree, everyone joked with him that he must pay me too much..lol..he got a kick out of that..the lady sitting in the chair is my MIL..Roger's mom is now 83..getting fragile-Jeff appreciated her coming..
Nieces ...LeeAnn holding the candle thinks Jeff is her brother..lol..the same photo on the cake she made cards with and gave them out as thank-you for attending so they'll all have a photo of Jeff...must tell you, Jeff is a prankster and she's in for it...
Well, time to start my day..
This message was edited Dec 6, 2009 10:29 AM
Betty - That cake is just TOO funny!
Thanks Susan for your kind words :)
I'll pop back in a bit...looks like it's gonna be a gorgeous day.... I might get out to do some Christmas shopping...
My cat needs a therapist.
Hugs to all,
Mary
Yikes I posted my mom's doctor appt results and it's not here! So when I get through I'll post it again.
Judy Dave accuses me of crap all the time. When he got his 60 day notice about his job he told me that I was going to have to stop spending money at Starbucks, I haven't been to Starbucks in at least 6 months. He also thinks I spend all my time on the computer, so I usually don't come on when he's home. I am so worried that he is going to lose his job I'm just sick, especially when he tells me his 'plan' if he does lose it, I swear the man is stuck on stupid. He wants to go to barber school, not to be a barber, but so he can stay on unemployment longer. Or just take classes. I looked at him and said, "Or you can find another job!" Makes me so mad I could just eat nails!
Yay Susan on mom's new car! And you get to drive it! Woo Hoo!!! IF Dave doesn't lose his job the truck will be paid off in 2 years and we want a new, will be used, Camaro. If I traded my Rogue in today the payments for a brand new Camaro would be $211.00. If there was no danger of him getting laid off I'd do it.
LOL Mary and Dawn, what I do to catch up, if I have time, is I read someone's post, then type my comments about it, read the next person's post, type my comments, and so on down the line until I get to the end. By then I have a huge post but I have talked to everyone! OR if I don't have time I just say "Hi Everyone! Very busy but I miss ya and love ya! See ya'll later!" or something like that. You don't have to talk to everyone all the time, and no one thinks bad of you if you don't.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY JEFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Betty that's hilarious!
My mom's doctor has agreed to do the surgery!! He did a procedure and sent her home with some things to think about, just facts of the other nerves that connects to this one, and the fact it may not work. She is far from healed from the reconstruction surgery and he obviously can't do anything until she heals from that, even though she feels differently lol. He gave her an appointment 6 weeks out so they are on their way home.
I did something to my right foot. It hurts to put weight on it, the pain is on top right behind the toes, and is linked to the toe that's next to the big toe. What's really weird is it doesn't hurt at all when I wear heals.
Crissy, what are your feelings on this operation, do you think the good out weights what could happen to her? not so sure she wouldn't end up having more difficulties..wow, now that's a decision to make isn't it?
Praying that things will work out for Dave and his job..omg, would the new vehicle go quicker than the one I rode in..lordy, think we should downsize the power..lol just kidding, you do know how to drive...
Mary, great time to get your Christmas shopping done, before the crowds are out..maybe they already are...I notice that there aren't as many in the stores but they say sales are up..my thoughts is that with many of the stores open 24/7 and people on shift work that is distributed and seems less...
Plans have already changed for my morning..Kyle is making those lanters, one for Melanie's adoptive parents and one for Melanie's bio parents...bio parents are visiting today ..they live 100 miles away and they won't be seeing them until Boxing Day so I said we'd get the project finished up and they could take it home with them and enjoy over next few weeks..I've scrounged my wood supply and have put a stand together and a box and the fixings for him to make the same project the girls all made...they all are out for breakfast and when he gets back Greg will drop him off .. shouldn't take more than an hour to do it..it will make both Kyle and "Jan/Charlie' s day
Snow in increasing and quite heavy....doesn't matter I'm in my jammies and don't have to go out...
Enjoy your day everyone
Morning everyone!
Hope everyone is well. Sounds like you have a nice lazy day for once Betty. Enjoy it. Loved the cake, I bet they all had a great laugh over that? ^_^
Trisha, glad your Mom got a new car for you to drive!
Crissy, hope your Mom and Dr.'s make the right decision.
Well, it is 10:25 here, so I guess I need to go and get dressed. We bought our tree yesterday, so I need to go and drag out all the ornaments and lights, and see what I can do with it!
Have a great day everyone.
LK
Trisha, isn't your mom adorable...bonus that you get to drive it..know we're not suppose to tell ages so some think, but how many years young is your mom..shhhh don't tell her I asked...she's quite healthy isn't she..
Back to square 1, I made another lantern project while Kyle did his, now I'm ready to clean the craft room once again and get back to enjoying my day..
Linda Kay, yes I am enjoying a leisurely day..you know me, putzing around doing things is relaxing..
Hope you'll be able to share your tree with us..don't you find that just staying in jammies, getting out the christmas decorations and remembering days of old and where and how you got them makes you feel all toasty inside..
Not a problem Betty, we are like the Chinese and consider it an honor that we are allowed to get older...dad always said better over the hill than under it! Mom just turned 81 and hasn't slowed down very much. The salesman that we bought the car from is the son of our neighbor across the street....he is 74! We just found out that his mother is 97...we were shocked in both cases. Dorothy still lives alone, does all her own shopping and errands...still drives. In mom's case she really doesn't like to drive. She will go to the store and run errands....but if I want to go along and do the driving she is much happier.
Crissy - it's Trisha's mom that has the Camry.
Mary - thank you - I love the movie "Blizzard" (2003). It's part of our collection. It's about a special reindeer and her connection with a lonely child. Very sweet and touching. I highly recommend it. Whoopie Goldberg is terrific in it, but then, I'm partial to her heartwarming stories that she does (Sister Act 1 & 2, Just Claus, JackFlash, etc).
Time to get Christmas cards out! Cya later!!
♫♪~Susan~♪♫
Trisha, it's great that she knows her limits and doesn't fight you doing the main driving...we had a neighbor when I was young that the minute she got in the car we'd all clear the sidewalks..don't think they'd allow her to drive in this day and age..they now take licenses...
Jack Flash Susan is probably the one I enjoy her most in..
Please don't tell anyone, but I've been extremely lazy today, watching movies, laying on the couch not accomplishing much...just went outside to let Sailor out and it's storming pretty good, might even be getting some freezing rain...
How is the decorating going everyone, trees up?
My tree was up on Nov 27th - day before we decorated the church tree. I was Not going to have the church tree up before mine!! so There! ^_^
Tomorrow am I'm going to work early to put up the company tree (I bought it, and my boss said I should not have to pay for it, so he's reimbursing me - how sweet!).
I got some stuffing things for baskets I'm making for some of the people I work for.
Well, it's time to head off to sleep. I'm awfully tired. Been a very long weekend (I had a nap today, but not enough....).
cya tomorrow.
Have a good evening, ev1.
Susan
Morning, ground all covered with snow..looks so pretty out there..getting ready to leave a bit early, delivering a lantern greenery piece to my SIL Linda in Barrie..she'll be at work so I'll just leave it outside her door...
Lots of appts. today so won't be doing much crafting...keep that for tonight...
Enjoy your day..
Morning everyone. Betty you drive careful, and have a good day.
Linda Kay, thanks for keeping an eye on me, roads were treacherous..took back concessions only because I hate being on main hwy.'s and although roads aren't the best people are almost in your trunk wanting you to go quicker...
Dropped of the Christmas gift I made Linda so got off a few exits before my normal exit..didn't realize my normal exit was blocked off because of a bad accident..I got here 15 minutes early, Paul was already here, girls just got in..
So now I'm trying to decide how I can fill in my day....any suggestions..lol
What are you all up to today, maybe someone will be around to keep me company..
Judy, heard on the Chicago station, shaking my head here, that's why I didn't know about highway closure I was too busy listening to your news..head to roads was on saying how they are now computer savey, layer road conditions, layer of camera's, where their equipment is..can see everything at a glance..fantastic isn't it..even know you got more salt than you need and at bargain prices..$38.00 per ton versus what some are paying just under $200. savings/savings...thinking of Steve travelling those roads...
Did he rest up and now in good humour?
Nephew Alan's wife (live in Parry Sound) was airlifted to Ottawa re brain anerysm (?)..2 young children..prognosis isn't very good..SIL Marg is up in Parry Sound helping out with children..
Sending prayers to your Nephews wife. That is what my Mother passed from over 3 years ago. I pray the lord keeps her comfortable!
Good Morning!
Betty, Your birthday party looks like a huge success! ROFLOL, love the cake, too funny.
Happy Birthday Jeff! So glad MIL came too...So nice to see you Lazed around this weekend. Good for you!
Good to see you Post Mary and Dawn...Yep I agree with Betty, It's is so nice to see you post...I wonder about alot of people who used to post regularly...guess everyone gets busy and just reads, The last couple of days I have kind of been in lurk mode too.
Dunno, my life is pretty hectic, and emotions are kind of all over the spectrum...But I am well, and Celebrating my family.
Making most of my gifts this year.
This weekend the only project I worked on was one of the snowmen!! Enjoyed it tremendously.
Thanks Linda kay for answering my question...Was glad to hear Paco dips her food too! I guess, it is pretty good instincts for them, lol kind of like having gravy...
Today, I am going to be working on a number of gifts, first being Julia's birthday present, working on a beaded key chain...She is making a HD keychain for dad for Christmas and i decided to make a beaded patch for his vest. that will eat up alot of time.
As far as decorating...This weekend, traditionally will be putting up the tree. Mantle is already decorated. Most likely not as decked out as usual, since we will be away.
Speaking of which Betty, We are finalizing the trip. Taking off Christmas day again, Will stay over in TN...Then Travel to GA and will be staying with Deborah again!! Can't wait to See her. And I got to tell you, she said she hopes that you will get to stop and see her too if you go...Me too!! Wouldn't that be great. Cordele is seriously right off the highway, in fact you can see HW from her yard...Anyway i will get a ll the particulars and D-mail the agenda to you...Big Bummer, Julia does have to work so she will not be with us again. We have decided too this will be our last New Years in Florida at least for now...I really don't like celebrating with out Julia too. We haven't had a vacation with her for a couple of years and well we miss her...Then we Have to be back Sunday the 3'rd, kids back to sch on the 4th. whew.
Trisha, Nice new Car for mom and you! She does look very excited, can't blame her.
Crissy, good news about your mom surgery, Will keep her and doc in mind for making Good decisions.
Susan, so glad you had a good safe trip...OMG, love Whoopie, not sure I've seen Blizzard tho...will have to watch for it. I loved Both Sister Acts! Did you know that IS her singing?
Linda Kay, Geeze, crazy how all the electronics just go at one time! OH, forgot to mention...I really like the photo with you and Son and DIL! Very nice...glad you got your camera back too...Always get a bit lost withought mine, lol like missing a good friend.
Well, I have to get busy, first will share a few pics!
1st of 3 snowmen!
Judy, Paul asked for a calendar to check the days at Christmas...think everyone except the newest employee will be off during the week between Christmas and New Years....I'd already booked it off as vacation, so my question will be, as most already used all their days, will I be able to take the days I've already booked at the end of the days he's given us? I'll have to wait until he tells us we're all off and on a GOOD day..lol..ask him about it...then I'll decide what I'm doing...either that or if he says I must take them before Christmas, I just might pack up early and have my Christmas the week before..who knows, might enjoy just to do nothing...my next goal is new washroom countertop/zinc and taps and ceramic tile in the kitchen..so have to decide which I'll get most enjoyment out of...
Thanks, still no news on Alan's wife...praying here as well..
Linda Kay, sorry about your mom...bet she's in your thoughts a lot with Christmas season upon us..that's when I most think of Roger...good times and hard times seeing as he passed on during the holidays... sending you a warm motherly hug....
Judy, love the mantle...ahhh I see you've some of Betty decorations displayed same as I have Judy decorations displayed...part of each others homes..
Going to Michaels at lunch to get more wool..I've probably about 80 squares left to finish Darlene's Christmas gift..Paul will be away most of the week so it would be a great time for me to finish squares and then crochet it together...
I truly am bored today..absolutely nothing to entertain me this morning...
glad you dropped in for a visit
Yes, Betty, i love all my Decorations from you! I am excited to be placing them around the house, yep They do put a nice smile on my face to think of being with eachother during the holidays!
Of course my Big Santa is out in front!! Going to light him up tonight. Look so much nicer with snow.
Thanks about my mantle, I have a couple more angels, just haven't unpacked them yet.
Linda Kay, I am also sorry to hear about your mom, I miss my mom every year too., Bet she smiles down at you.
Wow, Betty, your hands are going to be mighty busy, lol..80 squares!!
Oh, you already have great plans, well I am wishing you'll be able to add the extra time, but also, will be nice for you to stay at home, and see to the new plans, ohwah, lol I am not planning to far ahead at the moment.
...uhm, I bet you were shaking your head at me again. lol, couldn't find the SM workshop for that one!! So just winged it, lol...Now I see this morning it was suppose to be a welcome sign, the only thing I added was the poinsetta flower. hmmm, maybe I can take it a part and do it right! OH...See the right side, I was trying to stay with the grain in the wood, looked like a butterfly or angel wings!
Well, I just had fun with it anyway.
Didn't matter Judy, creativity brings new designs...lol..
Paul just told me our last day of work is Dec.22nd. and off until Jan.4th...not sure what those of us who have holidays are suppose to do with them? as we're not suppose to take them into 2010 and yet he's being so generous with time off with pay, hate to ask him..maybe I'll wait and someone else will..lol..new girl who started a few months ago will answer telephones from the city...feel bad for her as we're all off..not bad enough to not enjoy MY time off (smilling here) aren't I terrible...yep...
My 4' santa is out on my lawn as well..wreath all decorated and you are right, once it snows, he's spectacular
Betty mom's definitely going to do the operation, she asked me what I would do about the nerves, cutting both or just one, I told her I would definitely cut both since she never complains about the left side other than scar tissue and tight skin, so chances are it would be fine. She hasn't mentioned it since but she has 5 weeks to think about it.
Yes, the Camaro would be faster than the Rogue, I'm going to get a V6 2LT Camaro in a couple of years. This was Dave's idea, I told him that I get tickets in my pregnant egg, I really don't think I need to be driving something like a Camaro. I'm going to go visit the Weather thread for a second and I'll brb.
Ah, the Camaro. I want a White 2LT with added RS package, 6 Speed Manual Transmission, 20" Polished Chrome Wheels, and Orange Rally Stripes. I can't find one with the 6 speed manual transmission.
http://www.chevrolet.com/camaro/
Good luck finding a manual transmission. Most all vehicles noe are automatic.
