GYPSIES DECORATE FOR CHRISTMAS

Keaau, HI

Hi Rachel! Hibiscadelphus giffardianus was brought to extinction in the wild by cattle ranching. It survives in the National Park through human intervention. It is a member of the Hibiscus Family, Malvaceae.

Metrosideros polymorpha is a member of the Myrtle Family, Myrtaceae.

Glenview, IL

It's beginning to look alot like Christmas...

Hi Gypsies.
Just got back from Wisconsin. Trying to catch up again.

OH how fun Your honey getting decked out for decorating! Just love it.

I have enjoyed reading about all your Thanksgiving days. hope you all stuffed and raring to go...
Kasey, my gosh your BF daughter is gorgeous and ohwah nice rack on her buck!!

Aw JJ, your grandson is adorable lil helper...I sure hope you had fun visiting Santa too.

Cute picture of Kitty waiting on that getting set up! Love the little bow.

Excellent photos Dave, enjoyed your receipes just before TG.

Awww, Venice so sorry your not feeling well. Lots of rest and water too...I hope you feel better quickly, now off you go to snuggle up in warm blankie.

We had a very nice Thanksgiving dinner here and then another at the Cottage. It was just the five of us and a Cousin. Was his first time to visit...While i won't go into great detail, i will tell you he is rather abused by his wife and daughter. We were really suprised she actually let him out of her sight for the weekend...I haven't seen him so happy in a very long time. He enjoyed the views and was able to relax and be himself...I almost burst into tears. My kids were telling DH and I how Cuz stayed up until almost 2 just talking with them. He doesn't say much at home...it is just so sad. He catches alot flack from family about his situation so i don't say too much but he does know how i feel about his witch! Anyway We had an excellent time.

Well got to go unpack...Oh yeah, just fell out laughing...
"Dear, the illusion of clean won't work with dusting"

Too Funny!! Well, have to admit, Since I've been home, I do all the household chores, My choice, something to do. LOL.
But DH does most all the cooking and the shop[ping!! For Holidays, He does plays the Chef and i play the suet chef, lolol. Wouldn't have it any other way.

Well now got to go catchup with the threads...Have a good evening.

Hi Dixie, Thanksgiving was good; kept away from too many carbs & fat, so the doctor would also approve!

Boy! Dave that looks good. Whatcha got wrapped up in the banana leaves?

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

Dave, that first hibiscus had huge leaves. When that red flower was blooming, it must have been huge also.

Can hardly type because my computer is soooo slow!!!

Found a great site that show reviews of kids books, movies, games, etc. on up through teens.

Dave, turst me, all windows and doors are closed and I have a lot more then socks on................LOL

We even have a fire in the wood furnace going.

By the weekend they are saying we will have highs of 30 degrees :-(

So far I have dodged that bug that everyone else is getting out there. (knock on wood). I need to keep dodging it too. I have way to much time at work coming up.

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Hi guys....having weird computer trouble. Took 4 tries to look at Dave's first picture....had to give up on the others. been trying to say hello for the last 10-12 minutes....grin

Will try this again, may be the last post for me tonight...no patience to be 10 post behind each time.....grin

Everyone have a good night....Feel better soon guys

Keaau, HI

Hey Carol; that was a Hibiscadelphus. The leaves get big (at least 8 inches across) but the flowers are small (about 2 1/2 inches long, by 1 inch wide) Looks like a little rolled up Hibiscus flower.

The flowers are curved which shows that they are pollinated by the native Honey Creepers.

My computer problem I know it was on my end. So I went through and deleted cookies, history, passwords, and all that stuff both on AOL and Explorer. Now I am fine.

Dave, that Hibiscadelphus has kind of strange blossoms. Cool bird. I recognized your roll-ups but what was on your skewers?

Moon, Dixie, and Joy, have a good evening. And have a sound sleep and dream of pretty things like decorations and Christmas lights!!

Hi guys, couldn't sleep so thought I would leave ya a nice long post to wake up to.Dixie you have a georgious daughter I know your proud of her. JJ grandson is so cute and sweet. Humm getting snow and tropics in same day cool Kassy and Hot Dave lol. I was starting to get concerned about ya Dave thought you had slipped on that banana peel you were cooking with. That dinner on grill looked yummy. Venice thought you were slipping there for a minute when you paid 20 for a hardbook, glad you found a reasonable replacement You still got it girl!!! Rachael good to see ya more often, enjoy your inputs for sure. Lynnie and Smiley hope the sniffles are gone soon don't cough my way don't want it lol. Seed glad you enjoyed your TG and made it safely back from WI.

And Joy, thanks so much for getting me back on track, I knew there were several countries made up of UK but wasn't sure which. So Scotland England,Northern Ireland and Wales are it. Didn't know if Spain, France, Europe,Germany or Belgium was part of it. I saw that in England, the largest castle in the UK is the Dover Castle. They have more than 400 listed in Belgium that would be fun to see. Yes a baby shower is a celebrated event for expecting parent with gift giving from friends and families to help them get started with little ones needs. Usually refreshments are on hand and cute baby games are played and everone just has a good time and then gifts are opened. What about money there? Is it shillings I always find tthe difference in currancy just like measurements amusing also. Hope you and son get walk in again soon, those special times can really keep you bonded. Talk again soon Karen

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

After 4 days off, I called in sick today. Coughing all over the place, it's just nasty. Talk about bedhead... let's not!

(Zone 5b)

Do you feel any better? Mine seemed more like a really bad cold than a flu, but I did have muscle aches. My brother had swine flu last month he was sick for 2 weeks.

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

I feel better right now. I think it's more of a nasty cold than anything else. I get the low grade fever - chill - thing at night, but just feel run down during the day.

Mine started Wed night, was ok on TG, but then it exploded Saturday and I'm just a coughing mess. Got the post-nasal thing going.

I think we started felling poorly around the same time, maybe you were a little earlier. Do you feel any better?

(Zone 5b)

I didn't even START feeling bad till Saturday lol after I had agreed to a sleepover. I feel a lot better. I think you guys were all getting sick while I was doing 10 hour days at work friday I worked over 10 hours and was exhausted, Saturday afternoon I realized i was coming down with something after shopping all afternoon.

he'll keep JJ out of the stores, Moon ;)
I'm having fruit & coffee, Dave would approve (oranges & blueberries). I feel quite virtuous, as there are 3 chocolate donuts left from yesterday.

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

But those donuts are for the mid-morning coffee break Lynnie...lol

Come on JJ, you know all men are guilty of selective hearing....grin

Jesup, GA

Hi all. Lynnie,I'll take the donuts and some fruit please. I don't want to have them go to waste! Grin Hope you guys are getting rid of your germs. JJ's I know what you mean about the hearing aid. Good idea,I think I will get one for DH all though I'm pretty sure his is selective. Grin... If I get the hearing aid he wont have an excuse saying he didn't hear me. Good morning Moon. Hows the ear? Hope yall are having a pretty day today. Smiley,Know how ya feel. Hope you and yours are better soon.

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Jesup, GA

I know what ya mean Moon. Better grab that sun shine while we can. It's been the same down here.

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

I can just see Lester in a muscle shirt with a Mohawk and pair of drumsticks (of the wooden variety...grin) hanging from his motorcycle chain belt....head bobbing to the Ramones

Weather man was right....raining as i type....oh well, at least I won't have to water....grin

Jesup, GA

Since I have been so, sorry, and lazy these past few days. And have finally perked up a bit. I had better make hay while the sun shines. Those that are sick, feel better. And I'll catch up later on.
