GYPSIES DECORATE FOR CHRISTMAS

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

chocolate donut will definitely work, Lynnie.

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

In my ad you buy the 530 and get the 400 free. I don't
think the 530 is programmable but this is cheaper and you get two.

Might have to go check it out.

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

Sounds like you need a grand baby smiley.

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Nah, Smiley, you are just supporting his inner child....grin

Yup, the mucinex works to break stuff up...also hot tea with lemon and honey help to relieve the tightness.

So sorry you and Lynn are feeling bad...what a way to spend your days off.

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

No JJ!! He's only 19 !! Whew! Thanks for the mental diagnosis Dr. Moon. I thought I was having issues...

The only good thing about being sick when off work is that it forces me to stay down. I'm good at that when I don't feel good. Only bad thing is that I have a floppy couch from years of kids on it.

That's the only time I drink tea. I like it, but prefer coffee, unless I'm sick. Then I drink coffee & switch to tea.

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Quite welcome Smiley...no charge....grin

Gotta a couple things to get taken care of this morning....you guys feel better soon. I agree, JJ. If ya want the roomba, now might be the time...although, DH said you weren't through shopping....grin

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

I am going to get DIL a book on cleaning. Know of any.
I had to go let the dog out the other day and brought him home with me.Told DH if I would have had time I would have cleaned it and left a note that said Merry Christmas this is what it should look like.

Son is a slob but she is home 24/7 and no kids for 4 hours a day!!

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

DH always tells me to go get my present...he hates to shop.
He know it always costs him more that way...need to get something for my time ya know..

I need to get busy to before the GS gets up
Way to much help with the tree.. LOL

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Get her the Hints from Heloise book...lots of cleaning tips....maybe someone publishes a "housecleaning for Dummies" book....they have them for everything else.....grin

Catch up later....have a good morning.

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

I will look into that Thanks.

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

I try to tell DS it's so much easier if you just keep up on it every day. A girl I work with is like that ~ she lets her house go and then goes nuts cleaning.

Never could understand that. If I was home 24/7 my *closets* would be clean!

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

I by no means am spotless or compulsive but when you're home all day everyday and you can't find the table or a counter there is a problem.

The LR is clean thats where she parks it.

Son works 10 -12 hrs a night and does the cooking during the day.
Like I said he needs to work on not being such a slob but....

(Zone 5b)

I only work 2 days a week (long days!) but I do most of the cleaning, but everybody here has to pitch in and help, and pick up after themselves. I'm not a maid. Kids have chores and husband is great at doing his share (he does all laundry, I do all the cooking, he used to vacuum, I used to mop, I do all cooking & groceries and heavy duty cleaning, kids do dusting, help with bathrooms, and are responsible for their room.
Boring stuff huh? lol

(Zone 5b)

got my donuts!

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

Thats the way it should be Lynnie!
My husband will help with the laundry, he folds clothes better than I ever thought of.
Most the time if he wants to eat he will do cooking, but I do dishes.

If he wasn't working and I was he done almost everything.
Now he works more and I only work about 14 hours a week, not counting my babysitting, so I do most of it.

(Zone 5b)

I'd be afraid if we had to switch, I greatly prefer my cooking over his ;) plus men just can't see dirt. It doesn't occur to him that counters need to be wiped after each meal or that floors need mopping. If i'm at work all day I can check out the counter at night & see what they ate hahaha
I had too many donuts....ugh.

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

Ditto here. I work, DH stays home. He cleans, I cook. Won't let me clean unless I say "Dear, the illusion of clean won't work with dusting"

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

I have to admit my DH cooks good, but we eat plain things not to adventurous when it comes to our food.
And he could outclean me anyday. He is almost a perfectionist. Yet he doesn't complain if I don't do it to his standards. He ended up with to many jobs that way. LOL

For instance I was wallpapering the kitchen (I had never wallpapered before) and he came in and said " that is a 1/8 of an inch off" as he was standing in doorway. I just ripped it off and said" there ya go" and walked away ( he hates to paper).

I left it undone for a week til he couldn't stand it and done it. Doesn't tell me if something is off anymore... grin..

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

On the flip side, when it comes to laundry I usually shut my mouth. Occasionally I'll throw in one of those 'less gets them cleaner' talks, but he does the laundry, so I shut up.

He tried to cook once. Once. We kind of went 'huh?' I don't mind, I like cooking. He doesn't have the timing right to be able to cook well. Starts everything all at once. We're basically meat & potatoes, but I'm more adventurous than he is.

Funny wallpaper story, JJ. That's something DH can do well. And paint. They say you don't notice a good paint job until you see a bad one. A painter taught him how to paint.

Hi everyone, hope you're having a good day. It's already 4PM here so dark now.Day started of with heavy rain and son and I didn't know if to go for walk.Happily it stopped and though air still damp and cold,39f,it was good to be outside.
My DH also likes to cook and will do so willingly,he'll clean too,but I'm around home more so it's usually me.
Lynnie,I agree Chester is beautiful, wonderful picturesque old buildings ,dating back hundreds of years, most of which house lovely shops.
My father in law is Welsh and Chester is near the Welsh boarder,so we would go there when visiting members of DH's family, who still lived in Wales. My FIL hasn't lived in Wales since he was young. He's 88 now and lives in Carlisle, where my DH was born.Carlisle is the Northern most city in England, near the boarder with Scotland.
As for London, there's certainly lots of wonderful things to see,but i've not been for about 21 years:}so you may well have more recent experience of it than I have.
I hope your cold's not getting you down too much,it's that time of the year, unfortunately,I guess.my younger son has a terrible cough at the moment ,which he says doesn't hurt, but it sounds dreadful.
I too read,as you did,if i wake very early.I read a lot all the time :}
Flowers, glad you like to hear about my part of the world.the United Kingdom,UK,consists of England,Scotland Wales and Northern Ireland.S.Ireland have been an independant state since around the end of WW1,i think it was,I'd have to check to be certain.
I'm glad you like the word Mum.....It's short for Mummy:}
I'm glad you enjoyed your "shower",is that a baby shower, when friends and family take gifts for the Mum to be?We don't have them here, but I know of them from films and TV,from US.
Will my younger son aged 14,prefers US comedy shows,to ones made here.He was watching "Scrubs" this morning :}
Hope you are all having a good Sunday
Best wishes
Joy..........I may be back later:}

(Zone 5b)

my mother's mum's family is British....very early settlers in the New World.
Moon you know what I loved about Chester, the huge stone wall surrounding the town! google it, it's amazing.
Joyce i was in the UK in 1998. Wonderful trip.
Some US TV is good, some is trash. Hate when we broadcast our trash around the world. Scrubs is funny, but I never watch TV.

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

Hi Joy glad you got to go for walk. Hope you enjoy your Sunday.

Hi Kassy, Hi Rachel. Hope the day is treating you both right. Kinda gray here, not cold, just overcast.

Kassy is that for one of those Kindle reader things? Those are down loads and not actual books.

Jesup, GA

I'm going to decorate the tree. While there's no grand baby's around to help. (Grin) Be back a little later.
