FAMILY, FRIENDS AND GYPSIES

(Zone 5b)

part of my problem is my husband & older kid don't know what they want till 3 days before!
I haven't taken out any xmas decorations yet, it really ratchets up the excitement for the kids though....and we cut our tree. Then I make cookies to eat while we're decorating.

(Zone 5b)

what a pain JJ!

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

My husband never wants anything or he goes and buys it. So he gets clothes usually.

My kids are grown, and if they want something I have herd about it. LOL
The middle one is easy this year GF moved out and took most the bedding, coffee pot, ect. Lot of that was on sale yesterday. Even got a 15 pc Chicago cutlery butcher block set for $20.

He got a little extra this year because has no one else to buy for him at home. So I bought some smaller things to have under his tree. Can't have the little one unwrapping and nothing for dad from santa.

I use to cut tree but after kids grew up and moved, wasn't as much fun.
Tried it with grands a couple times they was too cold didn't want to do it.
So I found a really nice fake one and bought it.

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

I am not to impressed with this camera.
I have a kodak and love it .

Now it says to charge the bat. it didn't come with a charger...I did buy one but what if ya didn't.

What good does it do to give ya bat's that don't work? And it won't work with nothing but Kodak bat's. hmmmm

They sold a lot of them yesterday sure hope those people try to use it first.

(Zone 5b)

yeah my husband just gets himself whatever he needs

I took a week off from work, I'm hoping to get something done hahaha

(Zone 5b)

I always get cannon digital cameras, they're easy & seem pretty tough. remember the kids dropped it in dirty dish water well it's working again. They drop it a LOT.

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

Might have to check that out.
This one isn't going to work for her, because her battery will not ever be charged.
Mine has a docking station it sits on and keeps it charged this one you have to take them out and put on little charger.

She will never do that everytime she uses it.

(Zone 5b)

ours uses regular AA batteries, we do buy eco friendly rechargeable batteries but your mom could use regular ones

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

I think the rechargable ones last longer, but would like to make sure what I get for her could use either just in case she didn't have any charged.

Of course none of this info was on the box and I didn't see it in any of the reviews I read.
She doesn't take many pics and just needs a basic point and shoot camera.

Guess I have an excuse to do more shopping. sigh LOL

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

Good Morning everyone. DD gave me her Santa list, complete with internet links.

I'll have to ask my kids if they ever found the Christmas stash. I'm a last minute wrapper, but hide them pretty well. When I was about 10, I found my stash. Needless to say, when Christmas morning rolled around and I opened everything, it was pretty disappointing because I knew what everything was. I love a good surprise. To this day, I don't like opening gifts; there won't be any surprise left. Why am I like that??

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

DS wants a new ipod, someone stole his. He said "guess what moved to the top of the list?" Um, boy? That *is* your list ($250!)

I thought when they moved out you could get them less?

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

That's what we get for thinking.
The babysitter stole my sons camcorder. I would have called the police, but he says he can't prove it. She was sneaky. He didn't use it alot so she took everything out of the case and left case, so until he went to use it again he didn't notice.

DH is up so I can make noise now.
Got to get busy, suppose to be in 50's again. Sure I don't have to many of those days left.

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

That sucks, JJ. Guess she thought the camcorder was worth more than babysitting money. Hope he blackballs her around the area anyways, even if he can't prove it.

Jesup, GA

Good morning all. My computers on the blink so still using hubby's in his shop. What a pain! Going to keep the baby grand today so mom can do some shopping. I sort of thought I would try to go do some shopping as well today. Don't really have the mood though to ,weather the shopping storm. Kassy, your job entails a lot of hard work I'm sure. But probably rewarding as well. If I get down,I'll give ya a call so you can listen to me whine...Grin. Good morning JJ's glad you are feeling better. In advance, good morning Moon,Flowers,Venice,Trina,........And everyone else that are busy are sleeping late. Guess I'll see yall a little later busy day ahead with baby. Grin

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

Koala,Kangaroos, and opossums are marsupials. The leather back sea turtle can lay up to 85 eggs in one sitting and takes 85 days for them to hatch with 65 percent survival rate. You guesed it been watching Jack Hannas animal adventures lol. Dixie hope you get up and running soon, just keep running virus scans untill it gets them all. Have fun with GD. JJ will ask my dil about her camera, she has a kodac and it takes great pics. Hi Smiley enjoy your day off. JJ you just can't trust nobody these days that stinks! Morning all. The boys popped another coyote this morning. Got a glimpse of a buck but no shot. The old man stayed home and looked at the back of his eye lids. Beautiful day in Northeast Louisiana. Looks like a good day to prune the grape vines. Pirl is sending me a box of Day Lilies in April so might go ahead and fix the bed. Blood sugar out the roof from over doing yesterday, so I guess it is fast and pray today.

Delhi, LA

Dixie, go to Malware Bytes on the net. Make sure it is malware bytes and click on there free program. Run the scan and it will clean up your computer.

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

Morning Jim, sorry the festivities got you feeling yucky. Keep the glucose tablets handy and with prayer am sure you will be back to par in no time. Kassy beautiful girl in picture is that bf's daughter? Venice get up!!! GW is calling you. bye for now.

Marinette, WI(Zone 4b)

Jim, at least they got a coyote......
BF's daughter got 2 tiny trees.............LOL
A maple that was 1 1/4 diameter, and the other one was 2 1/4 inch diameter......LOL
They dropped on the spot. They didn't even have to track them.

Need some fiber?

Marinette, WI(Zone 4b)

Oh Jim, I asked my BF and he said they can not shoot the coyote's here, (if they get caught that is), and now we have wolfs that are also protected.

No wonder there are a lot less deer around!

Delhi, LA

We have a few wolves but they are rare and you seldom see them. The coyotes are many and aren't very shy. I am sure they are killing a lot of the fawns and yearlings. A grown doe or buck can probably hold their own with them. Got to catch you before it is illigal. Really don't think killing the coyotes is illigal

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Hi everybody...poking in for a quick hello.

JJ...honey you rock! all that cooking and shopping and decorating and can pop up with a smile the next morning....wow. I wanna be just like you when I grow up...lol

I heard from ICan....doing well and playing the dating game one on one....told her we miss her, hope she gets to check in more.

Hope you all have a great day...smiles to you all. Lynn, enjoy your time off, have fun while you are doing all the got-to's.
Smiley...sent my brain reeling when you said Ipod=$250.....DH said that made sense for 19 YO, but wasn't what GS was getting...grin

Dixie, hope the CPU problems get straight soon.

Kassy, Jim , Flowers catch y'all later

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

Moon, yeah, the ipod classic is 160 gb . They sell lesser gb versions if you were thinking of getting one for Jordan.

Going to hit the couch & the dvd player. Don't feel well, have a cold clogging me up big time.

Everyone have a good day.

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

Flowers, I am up but I did sleep very late. It was the first pretty sound sleep I have had in a while.

Jim, so sorry about your son and his kids. Very glad you had a very nice TG. I am sure you know how to get that sugar level down and will get busy doin that.

Kassy, who is that pretty girl? Is that your baby duck? So cute!!!

We have many ducks around here and they use to come on my patio. I wanted to feed them but didn't know what I should give them. I had a dish pan out there with water in it. The only thing I had was Cheerios. I sprinkled some on the water. It was so cute seeing them try to get them and diving under water and then popping up!

JJ, that is so funny about you unwrapping presents and wrapping them back up! Maybe you can train your dog to carry something. Where in the world did you put all your great bargains!

I got a cheap Polaroid digital camera at Walgreens a few years ago. The directions were in at least a dozen different languages! The English ones were pretty brief. It took me a long time to find out how to work many functions and that was by trial and error, mostly error! I went through many batteries just doing that. One time I thought for sure my camera was broken and I got all upset. I put it away and got it out later. I finally realized I was pushing the wrong button to turn it on! I am just not good at figuring out how things work.

I read where hibiscus blooms only last one day. And mine lasted one day at full bloom, day 2 it was shriveled up, and then it dropped off. There are 4 buds on the bush now. They say to cut off the stems to get a bushier plants. I am so trilled I have buds, I am going to wait for a while to do that.

Smiley, that big bloom is still attached to the cactus plant but of course it is shriveled up. I had one bud drop off and I was afraid that was going to happen to all of them. The buds are so small but now I see one bud that is growing larger so maybe the other ones will also.

See you later!

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

Smiley, hope you feel better real soon!

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

Smiley hope you feel better.

Thanks moon. Halloween and Christmas my time of year. DH says someday I will grow up. Not in his lifetime.lol

DH put me in the corner Kassy, LOL

To many christmas trees

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

JJ, you know what they say, you can never have too many Chirstmas trees or too many decorations!!!!

Kassy, that little chick sure grew up to be a beautiful rooster.

I am still fighting that gnat battle! After I read this info, I thought no wonder they are so hard to get rid of. And look at the photos on the site below.

"The good news is adult fungus gnats only live about one week. The bad news is that in this short time, the female will deposit 100-150 eggs on your plant’s soil surface! These eggs are laid in strings of three to 40 and can hatch within four days of being laid!"

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

JJ, that corner is getting crowded...maybe we can have an openhouse and serve cookies and eggnog in the corner....grin We can run a loop of Grandma got run over by a reindeer...grin

Hi Venice...glad you are getting some rest.

Smiley...feel better soon...lots of hot tea with lemon and honey and sleep as much as ya can.

Kassy, Buddy sure grew up to be a handsome rooster...maybe he can teach Lester Poo to crow....

Marinette, WI(Zone 4b)

LOL JJ. Hate to say it but I would too.................LOL

But you have good company ^_^

Marinette, WI(Zone 4b)

And Thank You, Thank You, Thank You. We think he is a nice looking rooster too.
All our hens of this breed lay green our blue eggs.

I'll tell him he needs to have a talk with lester poo

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Grin. You are too welcome. I really like chicks and duck and even well behaved geese....grin

Gonna get a new thread ready, this one is getting a bit long for dial-up...back with the new link soon.

Marinette, WI(Zone 4b)

Hey Jim, I am sending this right from the hunting hand book here.......

Coyote Season is open all year statewide, EXCEPT in northern Wisconsin where it closes for the 19 day period of the regular gun deer and muzzle loader season and the the Oct 15 - 18 and Dec. 10 - 13 anterless only deer hunts. Coyote season is open durning the October 10 -11 Youth gun hunt.

I guess they are afraid too many hunters would shoot too many Coyote's.......and I'm sure they would! And I'm pretty sure most of the coyote are in Nothern Wisconsin.

My nephews do not hunt in northern Wisconsin, and I don't remember them ever mentioning seeing a coyote. They hunt central Wisconsin.

Marinette, WI(Zone 4b)

It's even getting a bit long for slow DSL..............LOL

Hi everyone,Smiley, hope you feel better soon, rest is usually a good healer.
DH and I spent most of day Christmas shopping. We went to a large indoor shopping centre, about twelve miles away.Indoor centres like that arn't reall my idea of fun, prefer to be outside in between each shop, but there's a much better choice of everything there than anywhere else locally. We were really lucky and managed to find presents for most of the people we buy for....can't believe we're so organised,it's not like us at all :}.....even bought birthday present for my mum,her birthdays on Jan 4th.
DH's birthday's tomorrow,I've bought hin a selection of books,he chose them himself:}We both read alot ,but unfortunately our tastes arn't similar.
Weather's been cool here today,34,aparently ,though I've not spent much time out in it:},I've had to remember to convert weather to fahrenheit for you cos being a European I think i'm meant to use centigrade:},I'm too old to have learned metric,
Centimetres, kilometres etc at school,so I prefer your miles, inches etc anyway.
Flowers, you asked me if we have a special flower or bird for my area,no,I don't think so,I could just think of a Rose, thats flower of England.
I must find out what a Cardinal bird looks like.Dogwood trees I know, with their beautiful red bark,I've a small one in my front garden...Cornus Alba,Sibirica Variegata,Red Barked Dogwood.Only bought it last year, but hopefully it'll grow and thrive.
I'm so glad you like castles, history's one of my main interests, and there are plenty to see over here, though as i say a lot of them are sadly only ruins and a lot of imagination is needed to think what they were once like....that can be fun though.
Well it's already 8.30 here ,but I hope all of you have a good remainder of the day and lovely evenings.
Best Wishes
Joy

Marinette, WI(Zone 4b)
