Lolol.. Cookie, me too.. "Camelot!! Camelot!!"
I love anything with pineapples. Mum used to make the best tasting pineapple tarts, wished I had the recipe before she passed away. But I'll take banana nut bread anytime too Cookie!

Susan, take your time. I've seen your work, and like Maid M.. you're a perfectionist... and you know what I'll say next..
Can't hurry perfection.

Awww Bon... how sweet. Will Faith be sleeping with y'all?
Love the name... all you need is a bird called Charity and your menagerie will be complete.
May Faith live longer than 17 years.

Morning everyone! Once again DG has been down till now!

Hope everyone had a great nights sleep, and is nice and refreshed!

hahahaha Jaye
I'd just decided, after we spoke, to do what I have, perfectly!
I was going to add more (no, not fussy-type stuff, cuz I know you're a "homey" person.....) then thought "no, I'll do well with this part, and hope Jaye (the loving person she is..... see how I set up you?) likes it as it is LOL

Sweet lady - this apron for you is made expressly with you in mind ^_^

I think though, that I'll make a few aprons for Christmas presents! I just have to learn to do something once (and you're the test market, lady!) and I have it set in my mind.
hmmmmmm maybe for some of the church ladies.....

Oh Thank You Linda Kay! And I"m going to need coffee this morning.

It's going to be hilarious around here. "Where's Faith?" " I don't know but we don't seem to have Hope, either." the puns are flowing.

Randall awoke with an airbubble at 3:30, I had to pound him on the back about 20 times, then could not sleep listening to him and worrying. Keep the coffee coming! Came out and tried for DG, but it just this moment finally came up! I was having withdrawal!

Faith kept me entertained trying gleefully to kill Hope's plush rabbit toy. Randall fed them both then refilled the sunflower seeds in the birdfeeder (the one that threw off the raccoon). The cat box is right in front of that sliding glass door. Faith is sitting in her litterbox staring avidly at a tannager (sp?) at the moment. earlier, she was eating Hope's Alpo, she'd already polished off the Fancy Feast. around 8am we hadn't heard the cat for a while, Hope found her asleep in the laundry basket. so far, the only problem has been she won't stay off the kitchen table - that is a must, sanitation after all.

It's pouring rain. on my way to exercise class. waving Morning! to all my sistahs.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Bon, it sure was nice of you to finally find a replacement calico for him, Sounds like he likes it very much!

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

I found one way to break Tiga from getting on the kitchen table, and any other surface I don't want her on, when she was about 2 to 3 months old, I've never had a problem since and she's 13 now. It also works on a scratching problem, and potty training issues.

I treat Tiga like a two year old child, of course I haven't had problems in a long long time, but when she was a kitten she still had that skin on the back her neck so I would grab her up by the nap of the neck, give her a gentle little swat on the butt (nothing that's going to hurt her, just a little scare) and put her on the ground. I only had to do this a couple of times for each problem, she doesn't scratch any of my furniture, climb on tables and counters I don't want her on, potty trained of course, she's literally the perfect cat. They want to obey the rules but you've got to show force to make them understand what the rules are, they don't understand an arm brushing them off of the table. Oh yea, if she's doing something I don't want her to do I just say, "Naaa aa aaaaaaa!!" and she immediately stops.

I tried everything else in the book, spray of water (she found that fun and would get on the table so she could get squirted and try to catch it,) sticky tape, catnip to distract her (she doesn't like catnip) and everything else, my vet recommended "spankings" if you will, and it worked like a charm and never hurt her at all.

Popping in to send Belated Birthday wishes!!!

I was gone all day yesterday and when I got home last night I could not get onto Daves...well I could get part of it but no text....I was not a happy camper....I am lost when I can't get on here!

Did some card making with mom, then had to pick up an order for her in Seattle and pick up my Son and Lisa from the Airport, then come home and cook dinner...had left computer sleeping so I was able to read everything then it all froze up.

Sun is out for a short time, more rain is supposed to come through later today...just as well, I have spent the last two days playing at mom's and I need to get some cleaning up done around here. Hope you all have a good day, will talk to you later.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Hello sisters,
Bon, Crissy.. I need the smiles. Those creatures truly entertain us! I have never had to spank Ali. He's incredibly good and a loner.
Well, a very short post as I have to hold Ali more, to comfort him. It's more for my sake too.
..
Catch you all later..

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Oh Jaye, sending gentle pats for Ali and a hug for you!!!!

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Hi All,

You won't been seeing me much in the coming months. I'm going to have a booth at our Home and Garden Show May 14 -16. I will be busy making candles, patio pals, etc. Steve is going to make some horseshoe art also. My mom has started making her ladybug windchimes. I will be lurking though so ya all stay out of trouble. If I do well this may be my extra cash for trip to Cookies.

TTYL,
Cindy

Raleigh, NC

gotta run, but ...kinda like Hope. when I walk her she knows a kissy noise means walk close to me. I've never taught her to heel, but with me she no longer pulls against the leash - my bum shoulders could not take it.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Yeah, I agree, animals have to learn the limits, just like kids. Nothing wrong with a little swat on the butt!
Cindy, I wish you all the lcuk in the home show coming up. I know it is a few months away, but before ya know it, it will be here!
Post some pictures when you get some of your stuff made please? Would love to see what your working on!

well I heard from the shop and they said it will take about a week before I will get my car back..and they are quoting it to be about $2100 ...More then I have...WOW..and they aren't going to release it without full payment..I have about 1600 saved.....OH The pressure!!!!! I'll be lucky if I can get the rest by the middle of next month..any money I get right now has to go toward my rent so I have a place to live...Can't be homeless and carless come winter:))

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Marion,
The gal that is handling my app for the Home and Garden Show, name is Heather M. Sproul. When I saw the last name it looked familiar to me, DUH! Maid Marion's last name.

(Pegi) Norwalk, CA(Zone 10b)

Got myself lost again, guess I forgot to click on "watch this thread". I just knew I had missed a lot of good talking. Even though we have a longer gardening season I haven't done much in my garden. Just go out to make sure nothing is dying on me. My sweat peas are doing fine, just wish they would grab onto my trellis for support. I did plant a salmon colored mini rose out with the rest of the roses. My energy level is a lot better than what it was, but I need a little more. Have to go see a hematologist on Wed., that kind of scares me because the ER doctors mentioned they might have to do a bone marrow biopsy. I surely hope that isn't going to happen. I'm really busy now lookiing for a lot of iron rich food.

Oh, I sure hate this change in time.

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Oh how funny Cindy, not only the same last name but both of us involved with vendors for shows. I don't think there is any connection though.

Lisa, I am so sorry hearing of all your troubles--sending hugs and prayers for you.

Jaye, just keep petting Ali for me please.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

LOL Pegi, I hate it when that happens! Oh I hope your bone marrow doesn't have to be biopsied, another worry.

Chinook I'm sorry you're going through all of this, Prayers going to you hun.

Cindy I'm gonna miss you while your busy, but your going to have a blast getting ready for your show!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Good night everyone. Sleep tight!

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Morning Ladies,
Crissy I will try and check in, in the early morning while having my coffee. I need to wake up before I start working on things. I'm getting 50 pounds of soy wax today so I will be busy making candles for Christmas. I've been working on my birdfeeder for the swap ( Steve didn't finish it) so I hope to get that out tomorrow. Will post a pix of it. My buddy never drops in here so it will be safe. I have an idea for Steve to make some more of these. I revceived some awesome Lavender Mint body stuff from lizrainy in Garden Ornament swap. That is a scent I'm going to use for a candle.

(((((((((((Lisa)))))))) so sorry to hear of your nephew.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning everyone! Coffee is on!

Lisa, so sorry for the loss of your nephew. Sending lots of thoughts and prayers to the family!

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

IThank you for the coffee, LK - sure need it this am! "Caffeine burst hit me NOW!" lol
sorta sounds like a Calgon commercial lol

~Susan~

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

I am so glad to see others need that caffeine burst in the morning also. Of course a dreary morning isn't helping me get motivated to do much--but I must.

Lisa, prayers going out to you and your family. So sad and yes, the for some odd reason the suicide rate does go up starting about now and through the holidays. I have a problem with that but then I don't understand all the research surrounding that reasoning either.

Need to go get the rest of the groceries I will need to prepare for Thursday.

Cindy, don't completely disappear on us!!!

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Chinook I am so sorry, my goodness you're going through a lot, more prayers are being sent sweetie.

Cindy you better not disappear! I'll fly to Sac and find you and whip your beehind! LOL

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Morning everyone.
Need a dynamite to burst my energy pool this morning! I'll take the whole coffee pot, LK! Thank you so much for understanding.
Still taking care of Ali and his time is near. Don't want to bring anymore sadness to this room.
But I got this to say. Ali is actually ex' favorite, but he brought Ali here 7 years ago, because he's incapable of giving him the attention, that I can. Fortunately, Kel loves him beaucoup too, maybe more than my ex, and this make it easier for me to choose to let Ali die naturally...as long as he is not in any pain.
To some of you, this may sound selfish. I am selfish, but what do you do when he's still looking around, much aware of his cat brothers and sisters, and do look forward to our touch?
I pray constantly that God takes him in his sleep.

Now back to serious business.

So sorry to read of your loss Lisa. Depression can be a cruel master, and my prayers got to your whole family.

Yes Cindy, try to keep us posted of your cheery self, your dreams, and especially your new found happiness with Steve.

Hello there Crissy. Is Arkansas getting dreary weather like us today?

Maid M., I'm pretty sure there won't be much left overs at your house.
One cooking question. How will the turkey be prepared?
If it's fried, send some over!!

Pegi, another source of iron is molasses. Old Cajuns believe in taking a tbsp. a day. Take it easy in the garden. Lack of iron can give you symptoms of vertigo too.

Good news on Facebook. Our Phyllis made this announcement:
"Welcome to Our world My first Grandchild born today Emma Renee Alexander 7lbs. 8 oz.
Anthony is now a daddy, Shelly and Sarah Aunts, Bret your an uncle again(still) and Alicia and Nicole you have a new second cousin.
Mom and baby are doing fine"

Congrats Phyllis!!

Will be back when I can... be good...

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Sending sweet, loving gentle pets to Ali and a huge hug to you and Kel. I know how hard it can be to lose a pet--I think we all do and I am fairly sure we all understand.

Still rather dreary here but must get going. Leftovers? I hope so--have a 22+ turkey and it will be oven cooked with cornbread dressing. I was told last night there would be 10 for dinner and I still think there will be leftovers. Better be or my 2 children will be upset--they love the sandwiches the next day. Odd ball request came in last night but not surprised--youngest GD requested mac and cheese--just like her granddad would have asked if he were here. You bet Grandma is going to make it for her.

I saw Phyllis' announcement last night--wonderful news!

Well this time I really do need to get me shelf dressed and off to the grocery store. Plan to stay in all day tomorrow and cook--much like everyone else. LOL

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

I'm going to "borrow" your family feasts, in my mind's eye & stomach lol
I'm looking forward to hearing all about the family fun & squabbles LOL (there Always will be family squabbles)
^_^ ^_^

~Susan~

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Squabbles--now surely you jest!!! LOL Oh but I am sure there will be.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

LOL

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Jaye, you just keep holding, and petting Ali! She know your there, and keeping her comfy. Wish we could be there to help out, but at times like this, I know you need your time with Ali!

Phyllis, congrats on the new Granddaughter! We will be waiting in pictures when you get the chance!

I am watching foc news, and they are saying don't get a flu shot. There are recalls out for the H1N1 flu shots. I knew I did not get one for a reason!

Thank you again my sistahs. Ali's all bundled up in his favorite blankie.. one with frogs. I try my very best today to be normal. See me appear more here.

But God in His greatness and Mercy, truly knows how to divert my attention away from too much sorrow.
Kel and I were setting out your birdbath an hour ago, LK and we hear loud and soft mews somewhere. We looked around and see Scrunchy running down our country road, and behind him, a teeny little kitten, crying. It was running fast to keep up with Scrunchy!!
Well, Scrunchy brought 'it' right to us.. imagine that!!
This kitten is all smoky grey, maybe about 4 weeks old and has blue eyes.
You all know what's next right? ^_^
It's all muddy and grimy right now. Will take a pic of it when it's less afraid of me. Somehow, it responds to Kel very well

See the smile has returned.. Thank you Lord. Another 'throw away' kitty needs us.

Wonder if my shots are 'invalidated'? Hmmmm.. got to call up the doc. Thanks LK.

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

(((Lisa))) you and your family are in our hearts and prayers.

Jaye, we are going through similar situations right now. I have a seventeen year old Cockatiel. Petie is in very bad shape and I expect he will be gone in the next day or two. He was hatched by our first Cockatiel when we lived in California. It is going to be difficult not hearing his happy chirps and chatter greeting us in the mornings.

((((Phyllis))) New babies are such a joy!!!

Marion, there is an idea...we could have mac and cheese....I love it!!! Unfortunately Sage will be with her Maternal Grandfather for Thanksgiving. But she always has fun with Grandpa Tom.

Waving to everyone~~~~A lot I need to get done this afternoon so better get to it.
