Hey I'm first??
Geez I hit the wrong key and sent my message before I was finished.
Steve came up last night to watch movies with me. We fell asleep on my bed and woke up at 5:30 this morning, hee hee. He had been doing alot of welding and was really tired. I had gotten up at 2:00 because I couldn't sleep.
My family and I will be spending Thanksgiveing with my oldest neice. This will be a first time ever. My neice and her 2 boys are coming from Idaho. We are all so looking forward to this. My grandson it going to take the wii games so this will be interesting, lol. Have to go shopping to make a fruit platter for our traveling bowling club tomorrow. So I guess I better get a move on.
Oh here is pix of completed Barbie dollhouse.
Front of house
Oh my, that is a beautiful doll house! Your grandaughter will be the most enviable girl indeed! She'll certainly enjoy that, she'll be adding more stuffs.

Jaye how you feeling today? Hope your not over doing it on your gardening.
Morning Twyla. How you doing today?
Beautiful work, Cindy. You are so talented!
I am one happy camper today! I don't know if you all remember when I lost the necklace that my son and DIL got me for Christmas one year that was opal and diamonds? I was just sick about it. To remind you what happened, it was when I had to go get a cat scan for the lump on my color bone. (Turned out it was just arthritis) well, I had to take my necklace off, and I laid it on the counter while they did the test. When finished, instead of putting it back on I put it in my pocket. I was sure I put it in my coat pocket, but when I went to put it back on, it wasn't there. So I retraced my steps, checked back with the test facility, checked at Sam's and hadn't gone anywhere else, no necklace, so I was sure someone found it on the floor and didn't turn it in. I figured I had pulled my keys out of my pocket and the necklace came along with them.
Today, I was cleaning out the thingy on the washer. Can't describe it, but it is an opening that goes all the way around the opening. (Circle opening, front loader). There was gunk in there and it needed cleaning. When I pulled the paper towel out, something hard came part way out with it and IT WAS MY NECKLACE!!!! It has been in there for almost a year! The chain was all knotted up but the opal and all the diamond chips are intact. I even was able to get the chain untangled and I have it on right now. Can't tell you how much this made my day! ^_^
My goal for today is to get my little rock fountain dismantled and the pump stored for winter and the water drained out. Then I have some candy that must be made.
I hope you're all enjoying this beautiful day!
Hey LK. I did vote for Andy. He's a ham!!!!
Nope, can't do much outside. Too wet!!!
Gonna find some Christmas goodies for a swap today, besides checking some Christmas fabrics... we're off..
Good Morning...
Beautiful Tree Jaye! Sending you a warm and (((((((fuzzy Jaye hug)))))))
Now shew away with the depressing thoughts...Don't make me sing, lol
OH Cindy, your doll house is just incredible! Love that little fireplace...Do you make the furniture too??
Will be exciting to see doll clothes! My girls were never into dolls, barbies etc...was a little disapointing, they were more into nature stuff, climbing trees, crossing creeks swimming, indoor actiity was alot of reading, board games and crafts! LOL, you would never know it today, ahhh teenagers. Enjoy all the little girl play as you can...Oh now i will be most excited to see Barbie Wardrobe!! Yikes so tiny.
I can just feel the love you poured into this project. Oh, can't wait to see tiny fireplace screen Steve makes...Just too cool.
Your grandaughter is one lucky little girl.
Oh wow, how wonderful to see you BJ!! LOL, thanks for the funnies, love that pumpkin pie one, hahaha.
Well, Got to tell you, forced myseldf to stay up until 10:00 last night. Went to bed and was out like a light. My body tried to tell me it was time to awake at 5:30 this morning!! LOL, said oh no you don't it's Saturday, time to sleep in, hehehe Crashed until 7:30 and now just so full of energy...Got alot done already.
Donna, LOL, Your tree is gorgeous!! LOL, I see it’s your tree at top of thread.
Wow, you have lots of bears, Your decoration with them is so pretty! Just made me smile to see.
But Pegi, so glad your better…Yikes that sounds so dangerous, glad you got your iron back on track.
Bon, how’s the burns? hope they are healing...

So what is everyone up to?
Ahem…only song to pop in my head this morning! LOL, copried from SS site…
Sunny Day - theme
Sunny day - Sweepin’ the clouds away,
On my way to where the air is sweet.
Can you tell me how to get, how to get to Sesame Street.
Come and play, everything’s A-OK
Friendly neighbors there that’s where we meet
Can you tell me how to get
How to get to Sesame Street
It’s a magic carpet ride. Every door will open wide.
Happy people like you. Happy people who.
Like a beautiful sunny day sweepin’ the clouds away
On my way to where the air is sweet
Can you tell me how to get,
How to get to Sesame street, how to get to Sesame Street, How to get to . . .
LOL, have a great day..gotta run for a few.
Great Doll House Cindy!!! She will love it!!
Cookie glad you found your necklace.
Jaye take care...
Sage is here or the day. Her mom will pick her up after work and keep her over night. They are working out a new visitation agreement. I just hope Holly behaves herself and doesn't mess it up...Sage does like to visit her mom.
Sage and I are on our way over to mom's to work on some projects.
Have a great day everyone.
Y'all, I promise I'll read tonight. right now I'm too tired to think. but typing doesn't take thinking, LOL
couldn't sleep, drank tea (caffeine) w/ lunch, so was up at 2:30, frustrated. whirl, clunk out on our deck (2nd story). jumped out of my chair in time to meet a dizzy raccoon who'd tried the birdfeeder and got thrown. LOL
Randall finally got me up with my pills in hand. jumped on craigslist. found someone giving away moving boxes between here and my DD's place. Randall helped me unload the rototiller and I got them loaded in the truck by 11am. Back home, moved the plastic I'd put down - it wasn't working. I wanted it to put pots on, but the ground under was unlevel and soft, so the plastic was puddling water - not good for irises. put down the boxes flat (doubled). Randall and Ruth started right away coving the boxes (10'x30') with mowed over leaves. It's be like the beginnings of a lasagna bed. Hoping this works. already started moving pots onto the leaves. It's supposed to rain tonight, and 95% of the boxes got covered with leaves already.
Then loaded everyone up in the truck and went to another ad on craigslist of someone giving away pine mulch. turned out to be same as last year, someone had a pine or two taken down and ground small into mulch, had a huge pile left in their drive. It was already composting. as we got to the center, it had turned grey, steaming and almost hot to the touch. We filled the truck level. I'll put these between the pots and in the pathway, put the pots alphabetically, easier to find.
then potted up 15 more irises.
Randall's made buritos. Y'all dig in.
Afternoon everyone! Joyce so glad to found your necklace! I would be so upset, if I lost one of mine.
Hey Judy, Thanks for the cheery song! ^_^
Bon, you need to slow down. Great finds on craigslist. Wish we lived near a larger town to get some of the things they offer.
Jaye, don't shop too much! Hope you got some good sales on the Christmas fabric?
Grilled hotdogs, and baked beans for dinner here. It smells so good.
Later
Cindy wow that doll house is beautiful.. Your GD is a very lucky little girl..
I wish I could get a few of those give away deals around here.. Very true though nce you have one you will always want more when it comes to angels trumpets..
Bon you sure have been busy.. Do you have any pics of your garden works to share??
Joyce how neat that you found your precious necklace while cleaning out the vent area! I would have been jumping for joy...
Im glad you all like my bears and Christmas decor.. I collected all the Boyds Bears over a few years and when we moved they were one thing I refused to get rid of.. I love my babies for sure.. lol
Well piza in the oven just buzzed
BBL
Donna
mixed rum with fruit juice and tonic. I'm drinking the tonic because irisloverdee swears it reduces leg cramps and restless legs. life is good. not so sore. ^_^
just heard Randall, looking out the window, "come ON, Rain! I need a break tomorrow!" he knows what I've got planned! LOL
Donna, I didn't get your package off yet. are you going to be at your place this week, or somewhere else in OH?
Bon Im sorry to hear of your legs bothering you.. My boss had a customer in today (older man that farmed all his life) and he said for leg cramps to take a bar of soap , unwrap it, and place it at the end of your bed under the bottom fitted sheet .. I dunno if it works but he swears he has gone 8 weeks with no cramps and thats all he has done.. Besides he says the sheets always smell good.. May be worth a shotI havent decided if I want to try it yet..
No worries on the package but we will be here all week.. My SIL is comming home from her first break in college at Kent so we have plans in town with both my family and his on Thursday and working the rest of the week.
Gotta show of my finds today.. Max and I went wandering a thrift store this evening that is next to the grocery and looky at what I found! All for $1 (rabbit fur) and .49 (Dobie) I have clay and think I might be able to fix her ears and maybe even re-paint her to match Bella..
I have been looking for a few Doberman figurines to put in the house.. Do you think this can be done? What kinda paint would you use to make it last? Would the clay bond to it right?
Great finds Donna. You should be able to repair the ears without a problem... I recently replaced the tail and ear on a piggy bank and the fins on a set of Dolphins for Laura. Should be fun!
Your could put a little liquid polymer, or just a little plain elmers on the ear before adding the clay and shaping the ear, bake it per your regular clay instructions. I just use craft store acrylics for indoor use.
It was a really good day today. Sage and I spent the day over at my mothers making Christmas and Thanksgiving cards. At one point she told us, " I got to do Arts and Crafts with you and Grandma Georgia all day! And I have made clay things and painted. I'm really glad Dad and Laura got married!"
We have missed her the past couple of weeks. Visitation has changed and she has been spending Friday nights with her birth mom instead of with us. Starting two weeks ago is the first time she has been allowed unsupervised, or overnight visits with her mom in four years. So far so good. For her sake I just hope her mom doesn't screw up this time.
Time to leave for Church. Hope everyone had a good evening. Will check in later.
That ought to work, Bon.
Leg cramps are signs of insufficient fluid intake ;) No point wasting that drink, eh Bon.
If that soap trick works for the man, hmmm.... maybe it might work for some of us!
Donna, I'll keep my eyes open for Boyd's Bears. Are there any id marks?
There wasn't any sales at all LK. But got a few yards of purple and gold fabric. Kel wants an LSU throw to be finished in time for next year's games!!! Lolol!! LSU just bit the dust this year!
Trisha, it touches my heart how secure Sage is with you all. That child certainly deserves a loving family environment.
For her sake too, I hope her biological mother becomes more responsible.
Oh yeah Cookie, I am glad you've found your jewelry.
Judy, I could use that Sunny day song today!! It was dreary.. the clouds were hiding the sun....
Time for bed.. I'll see you all after church tomorrow. Have a wonderful Sunday, ladies.
One of our ladies at Church was talking about having to go pick up more tonic water to help with her leg cramps....said it had quinine in it. They used to give my mom quinine for her leg cramps.
We are all so thankful for the progress Sage has made...and her mother. Her mom has held down her job for over two years now, and as far as we know she is staying off drugs.... at least she hasn't been arrested again and she has not been using or drinking when she has been around us. Maybe they are both growing up.
Have a good night all, talk to you tomorrow.
Happy Sunday everyone.
Breakfast of champions today... eggs cooked your way, bacon and buttered grits!
Coffee's ready too!
Happy Birthday BJ!! Wishing you good health, good memory and plenty of laughter.
I am sure the girls and Don got something wonderful planned for you!
We're off, so have a good rest today ladies. See you all later.
oh bless you Jaye, My Favorite Breakfast!
Morning Glory! to one and all - it's lovely outside, but will rain later.
got a VERY busy day today, even with the rain. so I'll check in this evening when I'm too tired to move most likely, or when it's raining, finally. Randall woke up growling when he saw the rain wasn't here yet! LOL my back is still stiff from yesterday's work.
Happy Birthday BJ...you know we're like fine wine.....just keep getting better the older we get!! ;o) Just so you don't turn to vinegar.....
Another beautiful, sunny day in Ohio. But, I'll have to be in the kitchen.
Have a wonderful Sunday, all!
Morning Ladies
Trisha Im so glad that Sage is getting to spend time with you.. It sounds like you had alot of fun..
Jaye Thank you for the great breakfast! The Resin Boyds all have a tiny Bear foot print on them hidden somewhere... As for the plush its just the tag. Normally blue and they say Boyds Collection on them..
Happy Birthday BJ.. Hoping that the new year will bring you lots of happiness..
Well better get moving so I can enjoy the day..
Huggs
Donna
Morning everyone! Just now got my computer working, this time the router went out on us! Geesh, whats next?
Bj, Happy Birthday, hope your day is filled with love, and lots of pressies too! Enjoy your day out!
Jaye thanks for the breakfast.
Looks like I will be drivint to Amarillo next week-end. My oldest is finally getting married. Just a small church wedding, so I don't have to get to gussied up! I think I can get away with out putting on the pantyhose. I think a nice pair of slacks, and a nice blouse will work?
Later
LK
Happy birthday, BJ!
I got a bd card from rvnsbrk yesterday! So pretty! I don't know what thread she's on.
Dropping by to wish BJ a very happy birthday! Hope it is all you desire today.
Audrey, Juanita hangs around the birthday and Christmas threads.
Oh my LK.. I bet you're thrilled you are finally gaining a daughter. A nice silk blouse for the occasion, a new 'do and you're set. Nope, don't need stockings if you're wearing slacks.. might need some decent underwear! Take pictures please.
I'm taking notes Donna. I know how it is to be obsessed with a collection. There are lots of thrift stores around here, I'm sure there must be one lurking somewhere.
Cookie, what are you baking today?
Susan... where are you??? I'm mailing out your apron tomorrow... if it doesn't rain :(
Pegi, hope your energy's holding up. How is your garden. Envy those with longer summer..
Hi Maid M. The 12 Irish Tenors are coming to town. Would love to watch them perform, seen them on PBS. Kel says they're 11 too many!!!
Bonnie, it's raining hard here and soon we'll need a pirogue. Hope you get some gardening done.
BBL.
I haven't heard of the 12 Irish Tenors but I can see I will be doing some searching. Tell Kel to just get with the program. LOL I also have some recordings by 3 Mo Tenors--yes, you read that correctly and believe me it is really good.
We got the wet stuff all during the night and a little bit today. Keeps looking like we are going to get some more but so far --nada.
This will be short as I need to go eat, get showered and dressed--Kim and I have tickets for Camelot tonight. I am so please we decided to humor ourselves this year and get season tickets to the Broadway series. Ross and I had tickets for Orlando, Tampa and Jacksonville and boy how I missed the shows. This is a start.
Wish I was going with you, Marion...now I'll be singing Camelot, Camelot..all night long!!
LOL, Jaye... I just this minute put two loaves of Banana nut bread in the oven with the last of the too ripe bananas. I made two earlier in the week and one is gone and the other in the freezer. This recipe calls for crushed pineapple in it, and I will never make any other recipe again. I just LOVE this one!!
Well Cookie if you can be here by 6:15 then you are welcome to come with us.
edited to say don't forget to bring some banana bread with you. LOL
This message was edited Nov 22, 2009 5:10 PM
Cookie, that recipe sounds really good with the pineapple in it. Sounds like a tropical banana bread?
Hiya all!!
Sorry I haven't been posting, but I MISSED this thread..... dunno how that happened lol
Anyway, I'm here now.
Thank you, Jaye, for the mailing. I haven't finished yours yet - I had a major brain blank on how to do a specific part. I think I've gotten it worked out.
Thing is, I never use patterns, so I'm trying to figure this out on my own, without having sizes, etc........ Jaye, I'm working on it, and hope to have it out next Friday (or so)..........
Sorry for the delay!
Love ya's!!
~Susan~
Finally, it's raining! what a day.
Y'all would be howling with laughter about now. Hope has never had a cat in the house, and she thinks God made them to chase out in the neighborhood.
Randall hasn't had a cat since Wellington died, his "grande dame" calico of 17 years. On craigslist, I found a calico kitten - his for Christmas, if he liked her. [Jaye got me to looking again for a calico for him.] Got him conned into coming with me down between Wilson and Kenly "for something I found". Told him she had been abandoned out at that farm and needed a home. Then I handed her to him. Been looking for a calico kitten for him for 10 years. He was a goner from the moment he held her. But he worried all the way home about "his friend Hope" and her reaction.
Hope hasn't even barked. She is adorable. so far there's a lot of butt licking going on, though Hope did pitch a whining fit when Faith climbed under her to eat Hope's food instead of her own. watching the two of them has had Randall and Ruth in stitches. Randall is calling her "Faith" since she seemed to have faith in him from the moment he held her. She's been as sweet natured as can be, and only hissed for a few moments at Hope. I think Hope is going to enjoy having a playmate. Faith is around six months old, and small,.....and apparently HUNGRY. LOL
