GOODBYE TO BASIL FOR ANOTHER YEAR

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

Love those ferns but man do they shed in winter.

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

Trina, do you need to plan your veggie and flower gardens?

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

and before I forget....the teacher that told my daughter to just go sit back down it was only period cramps, decided to announce to the entire class that she had emergency surgery and might not make it through......Needless to say her father woke the superintendent of the school district up at 6 am when our pastor stopped by to offer prayers that he hoped she would pull through this difficult time! and Rob's sister Connie, who works at the school, called to ask why the hell he didn't tell her amanda was in ICU!

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

I think we have mulberry trees here too Kassy, gonna have to look it up and see a picture. Rubarb is about to become extinct. Not many people care for it these days. I love a good rubarb pie, my mom made em every summer.

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

I like to make rhubarb crsip too but we won't let my aunt near it because every time she tries to make it in an aluminum pan and kill us all

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

never thought of that Trina what happens in an aluminum pan?

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

Oh Hey Dave, jump in didn't mean to be rude.

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

when you cook it something between the rhubarb and the aluminum reacts turning the whole thing into a deadly dessert!

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

brb phone

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

and Venice Veggie gardens yes they have to be planned especially if your going to plant more than one variety of something if you want them to stay true

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

MMMMM Kassy, Dry ice will keep that crisp frozen until it gets here.

Had a mulberry tree outback. DH cut it down cuz the sheets hanging on the line always had purple stains on them. LOL

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

OMG JJ that was too funny!

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

But very true Trina.
Mulberry tree next to clothes line, one of them has to go

Marinette, WI(Zone 4b)

And I have a great recipe for rhubarb bars. They are as good as pie. My mom's recipe.
After my mom made it the first time, my nephew who is a big fan of rhubarb pie, told her she never had to make pie again.

I would have gotten rid of the cloths lines JJ..............LOL

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

wow I have a lot of plants, but amazingly I now have room for more....LOL

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

I'll be the judge. Get baking.
Lynnie can send some mounds brownies too.

Moon that site will take a while to get through, but what goodies. Thanks

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

so what seeds should I start first?

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

Don't you have to lay out a plant first?

Marinette, WI(Zone 4b)

Sorry JJ, no rhubarb right now...........LOL

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

nope veggies (if you've grown them before) you pretty much now how big they get, so you just keep that in mind when you lay out your rows

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

I can wait. LOL

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

Hey Dave my syngonium and my pothos are arguing for the same space, who do you think will win?

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

where'd everybody go?

Keaau, HI

Definitely the Epipremnum!

Syngonium is aggressive and invasive like Epipremnum, but does not get as large.

I have seen Epipremnum overwhelm Syngonium plants in Onomea. Next time I am there (maybe Monday) I will try to remember to get a photo.

I had just not seen a syngonium stretch out so far away from its pot before...it looked neat

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

Trina, is that what you are growing, that big thing????

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

Yeah, venice mine's just not even close to that big yet

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

I finally got a call from my son. They are both so busy working that they are hardly at home. So my son said, "Mom, when is your birthday?" LOL Most of the time he remembers me but never on my birthday. He can never find where he put that info!!!
I know the dog ate it! lol

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

How big is yours now?

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

which pot? LOL longest trailer right now I'd say is 6 feet. maybe a little more, but I can't grow it like it would in nature (yet anyway) so it just stays small maybe the longest leaf is 8" long

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

Oh. Was Dave's growing up a tree?

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

yeah I believe so....I have several varieties of Philos that can get that large too if given the opportunity....I like the big plants...LOL

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

Can't you get something so it can grow UP?

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

I have 4 more to vote on and tomorrow is the last day! Deadline is Monday morning I think. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

eventually I will, did you go visit that website I posted the other night?

www.exoticrainforest.com

That's what I want to build only bigger

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

Oh, yes. I saw it. The jungle!!!!

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

I want one like that just for those types of plants, and another for desert plants, and so on and so forth...LOL

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

Trina, it is about my bedtime. So I am going to head that way.

Night! And have a good evening and a restful sleep.

See you tomorrow.

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)
