Good morning everyone! Moon, I briefly saw that article, but intend to go back & bookmark it so I can read the whole thing. I guess after 30 years I picked up some of DH's interests, huh?
JJs, please please please! take pictures of all those lights! DH is weird, we have no outside outlet so he won't do decorations. I have a huge plastic Frosty I put in front of the window, that's the best I can do, besides a wreath. (( sigh ))
OH! I have a story:
Anyone watch "extreme makeover home edition"? They are in Buffalo, have been since Saturday. Tore down a house and are rebuilding it, on Buffalo's west side in a poor area. The cool thing is, Buffalo has a 'Re-use Buffalo' store-type thingie where you can go buy old fixtures, etc.. for a nominal fee.
So they took down this house and are re-using over 90% of it. Now here's the cool part ~ they are fixing up 18 other houses on the same street with some of the re-used items. Porches, railings, stuff like that.
The even cooler part? They decided to do that because they had too many volunteers!! I love it. Apparently it's the 1st time they've re-used stuff from a tear-down, and the 1st time they've done other houses on the street, and the 1st time they had too many volunteers!
That's why they call Buffalo 'The City of Good Neighbors'

Googled the kid, Dixie. He's a cutie. Listened to 2 songs - it will be interesting to see what happens to his voice when he's older. Beautiful voice.
You made my stomach growl. Literally. As I was reading about pancakes & sausage my stomach growled.
I'm off to find something to eat & check the bank, catch you all later. JJ be careful up on that roof!!
See ya a little later Smiley. Dont eat too much. Grin JJ's soak up some of that sunshine for me! And watch your self,on that roof!

WEll Hey my buddys , pals and lifelong friends!!! I'm backkkkk. Be vewy vewy quiet so nothing else will blow on this thing lol. Three trips to the computer guy and I think I'm ok now. Just gonna have to leave that delete button alone....... Tried to catch up but too far gone so will just say Hi! Lynnie better put those slip proof slippers on before you climb on that roof. Loved the Holy mail Moon. Dixie have you taken the floaties off of the poos yet? Smilely see you are still going at it , that a girl! Trina,Venice,Rachael,Dave,Jim and anyone else I missed a big high five to ya! I'm just hangin out for a bit so feel free to talk to me I missed you all.
Vinice your GD is pretty even with vampire makeup, bet she looks like grandma
Yea! Buddy, you are back! So glad the computer problems are solved. Yup, we have been a chatty bunch while you were gone.....May have to take a catch up day...or week. Missed ya bunches....glad you are back.
Grins, Moon
Venice, your grand daughter is such a lovely young lady. How old is she?
ok gonna back out now,; no one here to talk to. Will catch up with yall later. Have a great day all!
Hey Flowers....Hello....Grin
Hey Moon, yea glad to be back you guys have been busy for sure!
Lots going on here too. Been grandbaby sitting a lot as mom got a new job. Already put some Christmas decorations up and we did the snow globe thing. Things are humming along. Hope everyone your way is well .
We are all good. Every body is upright and taking nourishment....some more than others....grin
You mentioned snow globes....the glass kind, or the big yard globe?
Got the idea from Betty on the Christmas Craft forem. just small snow globes for the kids, they turned out pretty good but the glue got soft and some of the ornaments came loose so gonna have to find another water proof glue to keep them grounded. No good to see Santa upside down in a snow globe lol
Hey Venice where did ya go?????
Neat. What about hot glue? Does that stay water proof?
ok I'll just talk to myself LOL It is still gloomy here from effects of Ida. Glad you didn't get washed away moon. Now gotta work on getting car worked on the thing is missing. I sure was hoping it would last a couple more years ( its a 92) I sure don't want no car pymt. I think the Deer is parked for the winter, got out and mulched leaves in the yard with it last week I'm sortav relieved no more grass mowing for awhile.
I'm not sure but don't think hot glue will work. We were gonna make melted snow man ornaments but I got the wrong size glue sticks for my gun. I will give that a try when I get the right ones and let you know how that works. Maybe I can find some Christmas birds to put in them so it won't matter if they float around the globe lol
Christmas Ducks.....floating rather than roasting...works! grin
There ya go, maybe I can give Dixies' poos a new home lol
ok gonna go get into something will catch yall later this evening when everyone is socked in for the evening. Glad to see all the voices here again.
Hey Dixie! Flowers figured out how to save the Poos from Lynnie....put them in snow globes....grin. They could float in those during high water....lol
Hi Flowers! good to see ya...
Moon, you don't think I could bust through a little plastic & glue to feed my tummy? *grin*
Venice your granddaughter's a beauty.
With all the rain you'd have to catch those slick globes first Lynnie...grin
Hey Lynnie was off in e-mail land. Hope you are well and happy!
yeah I got a little break today, a few hours of free time...trying to decide how to use it!
I'm taking the day off myself, can only take so many days of grand sitting lol. Ok now I got it JJ is on the roof and Lynnie you have the fuzzy slippers whew can't keep up with you guys.
Glad to see you back Flowers.
I have seen instructions for making snow globes that use gorilla glue or hot glue. I would think if you used a marine glue or maybe even the glue used to fix water rafts, pools, ect. It's made to use underwater.
Lynnie the fireplace is in the back of the truck...getting closer.
Even has little electric logs!!
Thats an option JJ, I used locktight said it was waterproof. A portable fireplace COOL be sure to let Santa know where you park it.
This old girl is afraid of heights, and that roof is high.
Got the window open and one foot out onto the roof, but the hands would not let go!!!!
I'll just keep bugging him and his boss till I get that boom truck over here. I will figure something out... As my DH would say" I smell wood burning what are ya thinking now!"
Might have to send my mom up there, that has worked before. LOL
Hi Flowers! Glad you're back!
Venice, your granddaughter is very pretty.
Moon, couldn't believe what came out of that little girls mouth on your link. Neither could Simon by the look on his face.
Later gators.
I'm parking it on the front porch Flowers.
Have a real one in the house.
