Over Hill, Over Dale, Gypsies hit the dusty trail....

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

Thats neat JJ I've got a fibro optic tree on my porch, maybe we should get them together lol

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

Rachel, later on when you stop by, did you get the weather they were showing this morning on TV? Didn't look very nice ~ lots of rain and wind.

(Zone 5b)

I don't particularly care for heights myself....I prefer terra firma ;) with my fuzzy socks keeping my feet warm and pretty. Can't ruin that pedicure.
I have an electric fireplace, I move it all over the place lol

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

Howdy Smilely!! Must be lunch time.

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

That will work Flowers, been keeping my eye out for a tree to put out there with it.
My sister has a 5 ft santa I am trying to talk her out of also.

Asked her if she needed that santa worse than she needed me to babysit the GD while she was at school. Hmmm..I wouldn't do that btw.

Sun still shining and its pretty nice out so I am headed outside for awhile.
(maybe find me a neighbor to get on roof)

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

good luck on the lights jj be careful. gonna go hunt some vitals, bagel run out about an hour ago. Catch yall later

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

Hi all! Will just drop in for a few minutes. Thanks for the compliments on my granddaughter. I was trying to post another one and I can't do it. I don't know how I even posted that one because it wasn't a regular posting format.

I stopped by Goodwill yesterday and bought a Christmas present for my daughter-in-law. I got 7 Sue Zipkin salad plates by Sango for $10. They are brightly colored and all different. I looked on the Internet and the only ones I could find were on ebay, 4 for $32 which includes postage and it is still open. So I did very well. Only one had a few light scratches and all others were perfect. I was really lucky.

Also, I got something for myself. A small woven square brass basket with handle for $1.50. I polished it this morning and it is all bright and shiny now.

JJ, aren't you the Goodwill frequent shopper? I am curious about the kind of things you have found there.

By the way, I think I am not the only one who gets a little scared when we hear you are going out on the roof to put out lights or decorations. Yes, wait for the cherry picker!!!! Or be sure to tie yourself with a security rope to something heavy at least. Or make your DH do it! I am sure you can think of a bribe that will work. Or like you said, send your mother up there!!! LOL

Take care everyone and enjoy your day. See you later!

Smiley, i was just blown away...a 10 year old who could rival Julie Andrews....man. I did like the look of shock and surprise...looked like he was getting ready to wave her off...grin

I am with you, JJ. I will climb if I have to, but I sure don't want to. maybe falling off the roof when I was a kid has something to do with it...Ya think? grin

Lynnie, we have a woodburning stove unit in the fireplace...if Jim ever turns his back long enough that thing is going to a flea market.....seeing the fire is the reason for having a fireplace in the south...lol

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Hi Venice. Great deal ya got on those plates. I love poking around Goodwill and the Sally....couple other thrift stores around here too. Every now and then ya run across something just too cool to pass up.

(Zone 5b)

I got my electric fireplace for Thanksgiving last year, family decided to have it here (there's a LOT of us) and I figured the 3 season porch would be nice with the heater...it's really just a dressed up space heater, but it looks like a fire, it's warm, and I can drag it all over lol

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

Moon, I was heartbroken after Julie Andrew's operation botched her vocal chords. After all, I am named after Mary Poppins!

Venice, I have the main Goodwill at the end of my street. Besides the regular store they have buildings in the back with furniture & stuff. It's to-die-for if you like browsing that stuff. (and I do!) i like to check out the men's ties. DS loves Jerry Garcia ties. I've gotten him a few there and paid no more that $1.50 for any one of them. I told Angela she should look for vintage scarves there, she's into that look (the silky kind).

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

Lynn, someone just gave me a mini mounds bar and a mini almond joy. Would you like me to eat one in your honor? I will, you know. Just say the word ^_^

(Zone 5b)

oh yeah! the mounds bar! yum! funny, I was looking for a bag of mounds today, wanted to make those mounds brownies again.

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

What mounds brownies? I've never heard of such a delectable confection.

Okay, I ate the mounds in your honor. almond joy in my own honor.

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

I have been a fan since Sound of Music....grin. I really liked Victor/Victoria too.

Yum, brownies....candy....get thee behind me chocolate....wait, not on my behind, behind me....lol

(Zone 5b)

we grew up on sound of music! we can quote the whole movie and sing all the songs...drives the BIL's crazy....'I am SIXTEEN and I do NOT need a governess!'

hmmm maybe you were absent on mounds brownie day Smiley? I baked brownies with mounds candy bars in them, then drizzled dark chocolate over the top....I cannot begin to decribe how good they were.

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

JJ, you are so lucky to have the "main" store so close!!! There are 3 stores in driving distance to me and each store is run separately. It doesn't sound like anything like you have. I am very jealous!

Oh, Almond Joy!!!

I just made a real sloppy chili dog with left over chili, lots of sweet onion, and cheddar. Didn't have buns but there was enough stuff to make a whole sandwich between 2 slices of bread. I haven't had a hot dog I bet in over 10 years! It was sooo good!!

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

I guess I missed those decadent brownies. I heard I older lady talking to a young couple saying -- should I make Mounds brownies or Oreo brownies. I had never heard of them before. Wow! Those must be fantastic!

(Zone 5b)

gasp! there's an old lady out there copying my brownies?? where is she?

I love chili dogs.

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

Lynnie, she wouldn't give me her name! lol

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

That's all there is to it Lynnie? Break up the mounds bars? Any special kind of dark drizzly chocolate?

Wait, had to wipe off my keyboard.

That's in my future.

Venice, I can only eat hot dogs in the summer. With mustard & onions... yum!
Yes, we're lucky to have that Goodwill down the street. Only bad part is that it's also a halfway house for men & sometimes there's some unsavory characters there. But for the most part just guys down on their luck.

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

Well I think I stretched my lunch half-hour into a lunch hour-and-a-half and I don't see anyone else picking up my slack (ok-there isn't anyone who can pick up my slack) so it's back to the beasley project.

Have a good afternoon everyone.

(Zone 5b)

Smiley I bake the brownies, then put the mounds in when I take them out of the oven, then drizzle melted dark chocolate over them...I use melted special dark chips. I love coconut & dark chocolate.

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

Sorry I miss read who said what! Smiley, maybe I should check to see if we have a main store in Indy. Ah, ha!

(Zone 5b)

you too Smiley!

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

I think this site is detrimental to my diet....lol

You get her Lynnie. How dare she snag your recipe...grin

Hey Venice, at least you have 3 Goodwills....beats the tiny one here. I refuse to drive into Baton Rouge, all the wat across BR to get to the Goodwill there. The traffic is insane and so are the drivers....grin

Jesup, GA

Moon, little ballerina/singer was fantastic! Simon had that look on his face when he first heard Susan Boyle's sing LOL Flowers! Flowers, you are back!! Glad to see ya girl.
