Lynnie bacon grease is a huge lady that ate too much bacon grease. It was in an e-mail Hey Dave, see the addition is almost done.

Keaau, HI

Hi Flowers, still have a lot to go. Bad day for construction today as a large thunderstorm is going across the State. Keeps knocking the PC offline. Took about 45 minutes to get that last photo posted.

Bacon grease, has similar health benefits as Butter and Crisco.

Jesup, GA

Hi ya Dave. Yes love dark chocolate. Love all chocolate. Gimme chocolate! Just cant seem to help my self when it comes to that. Try to be moderate with it though. Try......Grin

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

Think Ida is moving on here, it is turning cooler but sun is trying to come out. I'm doing toe curls under my desk to work off the cookie I just ate lol

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

Lynnie, I guess we have Goodwill Stores everywhere also! I just checked the Indy GW site and we have a total of 7 on the north side where I live. Four of them are a little further away but not too bad, 10-15 minutes away. I am going to put this list in my car so I will have it if I am around that area.

Dave, meant to ask you the other day. Where do you grow your own vanilla beans?

You know, I have eaten dark chocolate that was good and some that was bad. I guess it is all good if you make it yourself!

Jesup, GA

LOL Flowers. Those toe curls a put ya in a sweat!! Lynnie,if ya saw a picture of bacon grease she would put the fear of God in ya. When it comes to eating fattening stuff. Grin...

Jesup, GA

We are getting a lot cooler here. It has stopped raining, and is not as wendy. Flowers, hope you and Rachel stay safe. It is headed up towards you guys.

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

I don't think I told all of you what Moon got me for my birthday last week. It is way cool. It is one of those seed starting kits. It is about the size of a book and 3" deep styrafoam with over 50 small holes cut into it through the other side. They are filled with a starting mix and you just add your seeds. After you are finished with your starts you can put more starting mix and seeds in the holes. What is so cool about it is that it is very compact. I have never seen something like this but you know I am a Newbie gardener. Moon, I just want to thank you again. I am not ready to use it but soon will be.

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

That sounds perfect for your seed projects Venice. Moon is a doll for thinking of you. Just don't tell Trina she will want you to mail it to her lol Just kidding Trinaaaa

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

I think we are getting some rain this weekend along with IL but it is coming from the west. Hope you other girls in the east only get mild weather.

Flowers, your leftovers sound like some good southern food.

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

To tell you the truth, I think Trina has enough stuff!!!! LOL Or really too much stuff!!!

Keaau, HI

Hi Carol, I grow the Vanilla on trees in my gardens.

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

Nope its her life, she loves to do the plant seed shuffle and lots of people are glad for that come spring planting time. Thats me venice meat and tater girl.

(Zone 5b)

we're supposed to get some rain, nothing too bad....

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

Dave, so is that the plant that has vanilla beans. Where are the beans? Or do you pick those green things and dry them?

Can you take a photo of your whole garden? It must be very large.

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Aww, Venice, you know you are too welcome. Just thought it would be easier than a ton of small containers lining the window sills...especially with Kitty....grin.

Did you guys know that vanilla beans come from an orchid? Just wonder who saw it and said wow I can eat this....grin

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

Lynnie where are you located, which state? I think we already got the rain and yuk from Ida and its supposed to clear up now and be in the 60's by the weekend.

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

Hey moon does that mean I can stick an orchid in my receipe if I run out of vanilla extract?????? Dave you must grind your own vanilla beans. I have only used it in liquid format. Wouldn't know what to do with the beans

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

The inside of the "bean" is scraped out and mixed with a food alcohol. That is what we get at the store.

Flowers, I have seen people on TV show how the pod is split and seeds are scraped out. I have heard that you can put the pods in sugar or spirits. Seems to me the other day on Good Morning America, someone took a bottle of Vodka I think and added vanilla beans to make liquid vanilla after you let it sit for 6 months. I have never bought the pods.

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

I think Moon said it more concisely! lol

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

Dave, that pretty flower is yelling at us!

No, no Moon... you are the queen of thread starting. With all that talk about full moons and what not above, I just felt the vibes through the computer wires...

I agree Dave, all chocolate should be dark.. of course, Dave is coming from the healthy view, I am just being totally personal about it.

The Two Rules of Chocolate:
1) There's no such thing as too much chocolate
2) White chocolate - what's the point?

A friend and I made those rules up years ago.

(Zone 5b)

I thought that made vanilla vodka lol

(Zone 5b)

I agree Smiley...are you on lunch break again? *grin*
