Today's Weather in Your Garden - 56
Santa baby, a '54 convertible too...light blue
56 going up to 63. Lovely.
I just knew there was a forum I was missing!
Gorgeous day yesterday and more to come for a few days. High today should be 52, 55 for tomorrow and then 58. Still have dahlias in the back but they're gone in front of the vegetable garden. Asparagus fronds quickly going yellow but they look so pretty right now with the mix of green and gold.
Hi Pirl!
I'm frond of asparagus.
Victor!!!
Hee hee!
Any frond of asparagus is a frond...
You never change!
Thank God.
Ha ha. I do change when I get a bit smelly.
Welcome back!
Thank you, Victor!
Hi Pirl! No lettuce this year?!
Last storm took a lot of leaves off the trees but oaks still have color here, South shore got pretty battered. No blooms left but still planting, A Ninebark goes in today & more tulips by the weekend.
Welcome Back!
Temp 50°, Windchill 39°
The deer got the lettuce.
The deer got the broccoli.
The deer got the cauliflower.
You can imagine my love for the deer.
Thanks, WC! You're warmer than we are. We're just at 46 but that report comes from Hampton Bays, a long way from Southold.
Still have roses (the few the deer haven't devoured), lots of lavender, dahlias and lantana.
Veggies were a bust for me too. Deer (or something) took out two nice JM's.
Sun is in and out now.
Sunny & 52 right now---gorgeous walking today! Lucky you, Pirl, to have dahlias! I do have roses, taking some to art class today.
48 and sunny. Wind is kicking up some now.
46 but supposed to be warmer tomorrow.
33 now .. going up to 56.. house feels cold this morning
45 and still dark though I can begin to see the sky becoming lighter.
43°, Windchill 31°, frost.
Wow those deer sure ate good at your house pirl! (You're such a nice host! lol!)
Always dark when I get up, daylight savings hasn't made much difference this year, for some reason it seems darker than other years, gets dark very early in the pm now.
33 and clear.
was 23 here this morning with jack on the ground
Where was Jill?
up on the hill
Pushed Jack down?
Chilly this morning.47 high of 58 but sunny
54 and gloomy. It rained while I was at work.
Jack also paid a visit here. busy boy. Cold, but I was able to do several errands in the car with a heavy sweatshirt on instead of a jacket.
Clouds are rolling in.
Getting colder as the day goes on.
Wheeeeeeeeeeeee, Pirl's back!!! Hi Pirl!! You know you just couldn't let us fend for ourselves without ya, huh??!! Yay!!!
Pretty day here, but the humidity's starting to creep back up. oooooh, I almost forgot to mention this....My next door neighbor (the vet's husband) came over carrying a big trash can today to show me a huge iguana he captured on his property not far away from our neighborhood. Great....yet another dog and cat eliminator out there. I'm really a chicken about taking the puppies out at night. Between the poison toads, snakes and puppy-chewing iguanas, my goodness....what are we doing here with new babies????!!!! I think this poor iguana was heading for a sad fate with my neighbor. He was really pretty with lime green skin, etc. What a shame that people buy them and then turn them loose. I hate that!
I'll drop by once in a while but have this passionate urge to clean out the garage to fit the truck as well as the car, organize everything, get rid of items we haven't used in years and possibly paint an Oriental rug for each vehicle to stand on (if I haven't been put away by then). So far I've finished about 12' and it's looking SO neat and SO organized that it inspires me to continue.
Irresponsible pet owners bother me endlessly.
How adorable!
Thanks, Pirl! We also adopted her "almost twin" sister, named Carli. They behave like twins....can stand not being able to see each other.
Why are they apart?
Iguanas eat dogs and cats?
48 now going up to 56.. rain tonight
47°, Windchill 39 Cloudy
Iguanas are vegetarian, I had a 3' long one when I was a teen. They use their tails as whips if threatened and cornered. ... gators eat dogs & cats, (and they have a much nastier temperament as well!)
Some cultures eat cats and dogs!
44 and cloudy.
