Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

50 and sunny. Another nice day.

Hannibal, NY(Zone 6a)

49 and sunny here. No wind. Good bulb planting weather. Russ asked me the other day where I put the hyacinths. Whoops, didn't get any, and I love them for cut flowers in the house, so I ordered 50. So out to plant them.

Newport News, VA(Zone 11)

56 and sunny. Found a list of many plants that can be started from seed during the fall and was out at the crack of dawn seeding and laying compost. Finally got rid of a lot of seeds from swaps and online orders that were getting a tad old. Come Spring I know I won't remember what I planted so whatever comes up is ok :-)

Hannibal, NY(Zone 6a)

Such fun to plant seeds in the fall and see them come up in spring.

Newport News, VA(Zone 11)

Yes. Your 50 hyacinths will make a nice display also. What colors? They are striking.

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

52°, windchill 43°, sunny

Hannibal, NY(Zone 6a)

I got a mix. Couldn't decide what I wanted, so the mix.

Huron, OH(Zone 5b)

48 and sunny. Started out foggy this am.

South Hamilton, MA

Polly--Can you make the flower clear the foliage? I have not been able to do that, so don't buy them. Then there are the deer so I sort of stick to daffodils.

Hannibal, NY(Zone 6a)

Mine do, Lucy. They say if that's the problem to plant them deeper. I know, makes no sense, but I put mine down a good 8-12 inches. Deer have never bothered my hyacinths. Mainly lilies and tulips.

My hyacinths come back forever, it seems, even if we pick them. But of course they are not nearly as full and pretty, but still smell really good.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Nice day. high was 56
Went to a farm where they have all these different play areas for the kids so they aren' just looking at animals the whole time they are there.

Here's a section of the butterfly garden.

81 and humid here today. I need to go out and sweep our front porch where the puppies frolic a lot, but it's still too humid and I just took my shower and dried my hair. I hate when it gets soaked and sweaty the minute you move outside. My son flies in at 8:15 tonight. Yay!

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

I'm up to 39 now. ^_^

Victor I hope this antibiotic works for him! Thank you all for the well wishes and prayers.

Thomaston, CT

Yes, prayers for both children---very scary when they're sick! A gray Nov. day here, mid-forties, damp, misting now.

South Hamilton, MA

I think children often recover more quickly than adults, but scarier. Temp going down here & grey outside-trying to rain.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Thanks. He seems okay. Good luck on your GD, Celeste. I saw a kid in the waiting room who must have had h1N1. Looked real sick.

Land of OZ, CT(Zone 6a)

Ooooh! Poor sick kids :-( Hope they feel better soon!

Hannibal, NY(Zone 6a)

50 here today as high, but it was grey and dreary.

Sorry to hear about your little guy Victor. Hope he's better by Thursday, and can enjoy his time off school.

Did they determine your granddaughter had H1N1 Pix? Some kids are getting so sick with that. My grandson and granddaughter had it. He was quite sick, and she was not. At the Drs they said no sense even testing them to see what flu it was, it was the only one going around the schools.

Nothing worse than sick kids. Bless their little hearts.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

47 now going up to 53.. more rain today

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

46 and cloudy. Little guy still has a fever. He'll be home again.
