Oh yeah, The guys enjoyed the movie but said it was just another end of the world kind, like independence day and those others.

OH, Well, we are still trying to figure if we want to go to House for Thanksgiving. LOL, trying to get on the same program with Julia. But i think the house is going to be it in the long run. A nice long weekend and OH MY Gosh, something else I forgot to tell you!!
My old neighbor called Steve and wanted to know if i could make her a wreath!! LOL, two compliments in one day, Head explotion over here...So if we go to house I can get the the needed greens. Plus i collected a bag of pine cones, so trying to figure what i want to do with them...can add a few to her wreath....lol, mide as well make one for me too.

Oh my Twyla, hope your finger is better. What kind of bird is he? When Skittles plays she nips and even those sometime hurt.

Betty, I can't get back to see my knee Dr, until 8 Dec, so I have so sit as much as possible, and stay off my leg, so I will be going to get my dad after that, depends on what the Dr. says. I wanted to go get him for Thanksgiving, but that won't happen this year! Hopefully I will have him for Christmas?
Hey Judy! Lets keep the fingers crossed you get that job!

As far as my plants go, I will bring in the potted ones for the winter, and some of the Angel trumpets I will cut down to make new ones for next year. Some I will purposely leave in the ground, and cover them with mulch, and see how they do through the winter. Just did not want to cut them just yet, as they have buds on them, and are about to bloom!

wow Judy, can't get better than that when someone appreciates you...phones sure do bring families closer together re the texting..think I did tell you that I had Greg, because I know nothing about these new cel/texting phones to go and get them for all the grandchildren as one of their Christmas gifts...he did well, saved me $$$..that's a plus, goodness knows what they would have sold me...they'll be thrilled for sure..so no batting my head thinking what I should get, ordered the family season passes for Canada Wonderland Theme park so really, other than a few odds/ends I'm DONE...what a feeling it is...will have to stay away from stores though, don't you find when you finish early and are still in the Christmas mood you just keep buying..no can do..buy 1 extra gift for 1 and you have to do same for everyone else...proud of myself this year for being so organized...I'll tell you, come December other than the party for Jeff's 40th I'll be sitting, feet up, fireplace going and enjoying the Christmas Carols...

Oh Judy, how much fun you'll have making the wreaths...ohhhh after you called I completely forgot to go put a bandaid on that wreath hanger..lol...girls, when I was in Frankenmuth bought a wreath hanger, put the santa and wreath on, the hanger has an 'eye' that is caught by motion and when it does it plays a Christmas song, well who would have thunk that when the car across the street parks, it sings, when the wind blows a branch it sings, when someone walks down the street and my motion light comes on it sings...lordy it's annoying..so a bandaid on the 'motion eye' will have to go on tonight..lol...crazy thing!

LindaKay, sorry you won't have dad with you for thanksgiving..praying you'll be on the mend and can have him home for Christmas...is he anxious to come home? You'll not need another operation will you? With all this relaxation, are you getting a lot of sewing and crafting done...

LOL at the singing wreath, my mom used to have a clock with birds all around it, and at every hour, and half hour it would chirp according to the bird, and oh my, that would get on my nerves so fast!

lol..I have a chime clock, it rings every 15 minutes but you get used to it and don't hear it..guess because I sit in the living room watching t.v. while working on a project, hearing it I wonder if neighbors are being aggravated..just wait till the music system comes on with the lights..last year I went door to door for about 4 houses up on my side and opposite side asking if it was annoying..everyone seemed find with it..now I just put it on for weekends and the nice snowy days...

Let's hope you don't need an operation..but why are you still having mega problems? must be frustrating..

Well it's time to go home..have a few shops to stop at and I've class tonight so best I get going..

Best - day's almost over.....

Worst - one of the Teleconferences wouldn't allow me to dial-in, and customer service kept me on the line verifying the company was, and after each verification put me on hold.... 25 min, and it was past the time we could listen to it (had to be 80%, and we'd gone to 75% left...... will wait for 4 wks for the audio to come in and replay it....)

Learned - I work with some of the best people, who will pitch in, in a pinch (one person setting up was sick and another filled in. Physicians carted the food in for a meeting I had, and others told me to relax when I hyperventilated......I was doing a lot of running down halls, and between floors to get everything setup.....
Actually, I learned this a long time ago, but it's nice to be reminded.

Girls Barb were doing their 'do you see what I see' project..Rita says she has a few sets cut out and is doing them with the grandaughters (6 & 4), said they are sooo excited to have a project to give to teachers...

One more week and the floorcloths should be completed..the snowman is just too cute!

Barb, now that you've got hubby countersinking for the other project, maybe he could takle this one..you can purchase an 8" wide plank at Home Depot for around $5.00...35 holes and a set of 35 lights gives you this..

Between taxi service, errands and what not I have been trying to get a little time in shoveling out my work room....one day I may have it where I can actually work in there....it has been the dumping spot for too long. I am finding a lot of little treasures amongst the "stuff" !

Best of my day...just an all around pleasant day..

Worse..still seeing Suzanne so upset about daughter Danielle's situation, all are still very worried about her well being...

What did I learn today...hmmm...went to the mall at lunch and went into photo gallery to see about having the portraits I've done duplicated...$35.00 each..they transfer on paper quite similar to that it's done on...thought omg that's a bit much as I've 4 to get done so left with them...tonight I needed a few things at Staples Office Supply, asked them what they could do..their lazer just can't pick up the sketching, same as camera I guess..what they could do would be $5.00 per sketch but yuk...not nice at all, so guess who is going back to the mall at lunch tomorrow to drop the photo's off...should have bit the bullet and left them there today...live and learn they say!

Trisha, guess craft rooms are meant to be just that..messy with projects/treasures galore...when mine isn't organized I'm overwhelmed and can't be creative..guess that's why I craft one day and clean the other..lol..

Things are going fairly well with everyone. We haven't finished Sage's Angel yet. They have canceled court supervised visits and she has been spending Friday nights with her mother. We are going to have to get a new schedule worked out for her to spend a night with us occasionally....I am sure her mother is trying to work it so she spends as little time here as possible. But we will work it out.

Betty - the physicians aren't "doctors" in the sense that they know how to pull out a paper bag and have you slow your breath down, or how to bandage a cut finger....... no, they're Research Physicians, and have Far Too High An IQ to do those things moms do LOL
Just like a lot of (men & women - have to be PC about this, doncha know?!?!) who look to a secretarial type, or homemaker, to do these kinda things. I could have a heart attack, and the receptionist would know what to do, but THEY wouldn't LOL

That's great Susan to have folks help you out... Teleconferences can be touchy....We do them at this new job...actually had one today.

It was 11 to 2p...and they said lunch would be brought in ...but it was late...so they didnt want to interrupt the conference with us eating.....so we just (or I just) sat there worried that my stomach was growling and being loud...and mostly not paying complete attention to the conference.....Then strangely enough the 'big boss' fussed at us all...

Strange Day ....to say the least....

Our division of physicians have a lunch every month, and people want to come to our meeting just to have the lunch lol I try to get good places to cater from, and I guess I'm doing alright!

mmmmmmmmmm having a cup of chocolate Ovaltine, with chocolate chip cookies! nummmmmmy! Can't have enuff chocolate!!!!!!!

Well, it's late, I didn't get much sleep last night (apparently I sleep with a Snuffleupogus in my bed - called DH lol), finally went to sleep on the couch, and THEN woke up @ 4:30! That meant about 3 hrs sleep...........
Tonight I'm going to get a good night's sleep!

Morning girls, what are you up to today..

It just stopped raining, not sure we won't get more but it's better than snow...

My adrenaline is going double it's normal rate...watching the clock..have much to do when I get off at 3:00...wouldn't it be nice if paul called and said, close the office at 1:00 or at 2:00..not to be but sure would give me more time in town...

The girls from Barrie painting studio whom I do a workshop with every year, usually rent a facility but am having it at my house on the 29th, another on the 28th. so that leaves me this weekend to get all of the projects done..wouldn't you know they picked that deck piece I bought in Hamburg...all are excited, am I, yes, just did my math as to what is needed wood supply/decorations etc. doesn't look too overwhelming..lol..have to fit a Saturday morning perm into my cutting plans....

Today I have to drop in to pick up the telephones I bought the kids for Christmas...the 5 oscillator multi tools that came in which are gifts..might even stop at Kentucky Fried chicken for supper treat...oh right, I'm on a diet and no can do...oh well...

Just know by the time I finish my running around I'll be exhausted..my best bet it to sit and mark what needs to be cut, go to bed early and get up at the crack of dawn...if I do that, I'll get 2 or 3 hours work done before my hair...

Only problem I can see is the mason jars for the lights...pickling supplies most likely will all be put away for the winter at the stores...should have given everyone who is coming the responsibility of bringing their own...


In between have to make some calls re guest list for Jeff's 40th I'm having on the 5th of December...

With house / yard decorated, presents wrapped and under the tree as I purchase each, almost done my workshops, party underhand, you just know by the 7th of December I'll be sitting with hot chocolate in hand, feet up enjoying watching everyone else skitter skatter...do you believe me?

Goose Sense

It has been determined the the reason geese 'honk' is twofold. First, it encourages the geese leading the flight and second, to let them know where the tail end of the formation is.

Lesson:

The people going before you need your encouragement and support, they are, after all, beating the path for you. You should be glad of their success and cheer them on. They also need to know that you are still there, ready to take over, when they need a rest..

When a goose is sick and goes to the ground, two others leave the flight and stay with the sick goose until it is well enough to fly or dies. Then the two, or three, go forward on their own until they find and join another formation.

Lesson:

We should be prepared to stand by each other, to help, comfort and prtect. This will build strength and character in all who participate.

To sum up the lessons:

1) find someone who is where you want to be and seek their mentorship

2)Associate with others going in the same direction-following the footsteps of those who have gone before.

3) Share the load with others, create a bond with those around you

4) Be supportive and give encouragement, cheer the leader on so they may, in turn help you

5) Stand together in time of challenge, take care of each other..

The Crochet Doll

A man and woman had been married for more than 60 years...they had shared everything. they had talked about everything. They had kept no secrets from each other except that the little old woman had a shoe-box in the top of her closet that she cautioned her husband never to open or ask her about.

For all of those years he had never thought about the box, but one day the little old woman got very ill and the doctor said she would not recover. Int rying to sort out their affairs, the little old man took down the shoe box and took it to his wife's bedside.

She agreed that it was time that he should know what was in the box. When he opened it, he found two crocheted dolls and a stack of money totalling $95,000.

He asked her about the contents...'when we were to be married' she said ' my grandmother told me the secret of a happy marriage was to never argue. She told me that if I ever got angry with you, I should keep quiet and crochet a doll'.

The little old man was so moved by this, he fought back tears. Imagine, only 2 precious dolls were in the box. She had only been angry with him two times in all of those 60 years The had lived in a loving relationship. He burt out with happiness, "honey" he said "that explains the dolls, but what about all of this money? Where did it come from?"

"Oh," she said, "that's the money I made from selling all the dolls!"

Working steadily here as well, going better and quicker than anticipated...need some 2" planks cut - they are in 8' lengths, know with the table saw I'm using it could be dangerous so isn't it a plus, I'll wait for Greg who is coming for supper to help...

He doesn't know, but there are 2 or 5 or 9 little things that need done, maybe if he's not too tired from working on the snowmobile trails today he just might offer...

How will he know there are things needing to be done? hmmm a nice clean , numbered list of 'to do's right there on the coffee table..can't miss it LOL..unless a person pretends they don't see it...laughing here..let's see if at least 3 or 4 get done...
