Tall *Tree) Tales and Chain Saw Adventures

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

What a delightful treat for you. Nothing sweeter than a song from a grandbaby...oops, that would upset him for sure...Grandbigboy. grin

Hope you have an UNeventful hubby day....cake, flowers and good wishes going your way.

Hillsborough, NC(Zone 7b)

Oh he will act like a Jackass - he will come in the door singing and dancing (and praying that I don't have a puss on that he forgot it was my birthday this morning --- which isn't so bad since I didn't realize he forgot ----until I read your Happy Birthdays!!) (grin) I can't hold a grudge long. It ain't in me! I promised him a rib roast with a wine reduction sauce and he does not want to mess that up. At our age it is better than sex! snort!!

Those roasts are soooo expensive - I hardly buy them anymore. It is just the two of us so we do get a few meals off the roast. Of course my DH insists that our son can smell the roast..... when he hears a car on the gravel -- I hear him screech "HIDE the food --- your son is here ----he must have radar!!"

Off topic are you all getting invaded by ladybugs this year? How do they get in I wonder - we really have tight windows --- and this many cannot be flying in as we go in and out. I keep having to run to the door and let the ones I catch out --- but not all are found alive -- and the darn things stain the paint on the sills ---- and you probably have already figured out ........once I clean ONE sill............I got to clean ALL the sills................and if I am cleaning the sills...............I may as well clean the floor molding.....and if the floor molding is clean.....how can I not clean the doors.....and if the doors.........

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

...and then the windows need to be shined up and oh no, a bit of dust in the corner....welcome to the wonderful world of OCD housekeeping....grin

The ladybugs enter through the attic ventilation grids here. In the winter time, we have mediterranian gekko families and lady bug colonies in the attic....if they were not so beneficial to the garden I would have DH seal the vents for winter...good thing they are beneficial, cuz that probably wouldn't get done til March...lol

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

Want to come over to my house?

I had those lady bugs a few weeks ago. I clean them up and next day a zillon more.
Thankfully most are gone now.

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

I don't care as much about the ladybugs as I do about having someone else clean the darn windows....grin

Hillsborough, NC(Zone 7b)

The vents!! I never looked down !!! I just looked for entry places near the windows since there are so many there. I am AFRAID to look in the floor vents....... what if there is dust in there and DIRT????? THEN I will have to CLEAN THEM ALL..... Head in the vent and tush up in the air is not how I want to spend my birthday..... no vents...no looking .....no vents..... no looking...... nice ladybugs... nice.......

LOL MRosie....such is the plight....just keep telling yourself how many nasty aphids the lady bugs will remove in the spring....and get JJ to tell you about cleaning the floor vents...she had SO much fun.

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

LOL Moon.
I think watching that dirt fly all over might put her over the edge...grin

I think my lady bugs are actually asian lady beetles. Lady bug look alikes.

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Oh man, JJ. I forgot about that...where oh where did Rosie go? Shes on the floor chasing dust bunnies....grin

So long as the eat aphids I don't care what country they call home,,,,grin

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Hi Seed...good car thoughts going your way. Foggy this morning but promising a bit of sun later today. I agree, I will sweep floors in your honor today, Rosie...you just lie back and have another bon-bon...grin

springfield area, MO(Zone 5b)

well just ask DH why said son doesn't have 'cleaning' radar lol

ever wonder why your kids show up for meals, but somehow the aroma of pine sol doesn't persuade them to mop?

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Grandson really tickled me....asked if we had any febreeze...said he had heard that it could WASH his room for him.....boy did he take that commercial literally...should have seen his face when I told him it only made things smell better, would not clean his room for him...lol

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

Gee now I know what happened here!!
Febreeze is a staple at my house.
This dog could clear a room in a second flat.LOL
Wish I could get her to eat beano

I'll make the bed.

Hillsborough, NC(Zone 7b)

Moon - no bon bon -- but I had TWO "Skinny Cow" ice cream sandwiches...
You got to save the Febreeze story for his wedding.

Frilly - I love the odor of Pine Sol but you are right ....my son wouldn't come two miles within the 'fragrance' if he thought he had to clean.

Seed you are welcome to dinner anytime!

JJ - don't tell me you had dust everywhere from those vents...those vents had ladybug poop in them you can be sure (grin!) When our Rosie was alive - and she perfumed the air..she would leap up and look at her butt and then look at me like I did it!

What do you think was meant by that name for the ice cream? Any hidden visciousness..... skinny and COW?

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

Thats not all that was in there MsnRosie. grin
Lets say I won't be doing it again anytime soon!

That is funny about your Rosie. Mine just lays there like she nothing happened. LOL

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

We shall not even get started on tooting Beagles....grin

Got a couple little stories for his wedding day MRosie....evil grandma laugh....

Well at least it isn't called Skinny Heifer....grin

Hillsborough, NC(Zone 7b)

Sneeeeeeeeky

Hillsborough, NC(Zone 7b)

or emaciated porklet

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Porcine cream....grin MRosie. These ad folks need to give a bit more thought, eh?

Hillsborough, NC(Zone 7b)

yeah, for sure.

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

Hey girls, you all are too funnyyyy. See what I miss if I'm gone for a day! Had boy and girl grands Tues night, Then four boys and one girl Wed. they are hatching, Had four girls and 6 boys today. Hope all of you had a wonderful day with family.

Glenview, IL

Oh you hoo...

Rosie and all, rolflol, I had a couple of garden pieces that have to be fixed.
So DH comes up to me with a big grin on his face and hands me a half used Bottle of???
Hahaha, Gorilla glue! I busted out laughing at the conversations we all were having over it.
So yesterday, i discovered Why so many Bottles! Well, the cap was glued on!!
So i bet they just buy another, because ya know how long it took me to figure out grabbing a pair of
pliers and crack the seal?? LOL, could have gone to store and get a new bottle. snicker snicker.

So, i hope you had a good Thanksgiving...

Hello, hello...come out and play.

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

I found you have to use it up, or it'll dry up inside & turn to rock!

(Zone 5b)

don't get me started girls, I just had to wade through tthe cellar looking for xmas decorations! there's a mountain of empty boxes down there!

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Oh, Lynnie....weedblock for the Rock Garden project....lol

(Zone 5b)

I used a bunch of it already! It looks like there's MORE there! Does that stuff expand to it's space like a shark, or is he collecting it? lol

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Maybe they are breeding...try leaving the light on....grin

(Zone 5b)

well now I'm afraid to go down there *grin*

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Breeding boxes are not a pretty sight...or so I am told...lol

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

trust me... it's not a pretty sight. If you don't control it, it will spread all over the dark corners of your house.

(Zone 5b)

all the dark corners are in the cellar.

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

See???? I have some dark corner upstairs in the studio/office, it spread to that area all the way from the basement!

I have stopped it from spreading into the "spare 'oom" that used to be DSJacob's. Told it to get out! That's my ironing room now!

(Zone 5b)

haha I have a spare room, it will be one of the kids in about 2 years or so. I plan on moving my hubby & me into when I start remodeling my bedroom. I manage to keep it pretty clean, but the kids play in there and sometimes I find stuff my husband tries to stash in there. It's a small room, one extra item & it looks messy.

Hillsborough, NC(Zone 7b)

CONFESSION ALERT!!! (Because I can take as good as I give.....) I can't RESIST an empty box....... I just can't...what if I need it??? It is soooo hard to find just the right box and in good condition.... all those perfectly good boxes that 'things' come in..... all those sizes....all those heights...widths... I plow into them and then I say "these are going TODAY....then I pick one of those beauties up....and it looks like SUCH A GOOD BOX....so maybe I'll save it for just a little while longer..........................

Another confession....that gorilla glue top...... if you get up enough nerve you can open it with your teeth!

(Zone 5b)

LOL Mrosie...I only feel that way about rocks!

Hillsborough, NC(Zone 7b)

ah but you have the advantage Lynnie because those rocks won't fall apart outdoors --my boxes have to share my roof. BUT NOT MY WINE BOTTLES........ all those perfectly good bottles...... what if I NEED one..... for a bottle tree or something..... and buttons...all those darn buttons.... I will NEVER use up those buttons.... but there are some reallly good buttons that I might need.....

(Zone 5b)

but what would you need a box for?

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

To put the wine bottles and buttons in

(Zone 5b)

but the wine bottles can stay outside, and the buttons should go to a recycling center, because I bet the clothes they belong to are long gone
