But the Oregano remains the same....

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

You got that right...nothing would ever get decorated if it was cold out....grin

Jesup, GA

Moon your back. You must be supervising the yard work today. Always good when a plancomes together. LOL Going again. This time we are gonna play ball. Got any good vitamins? LOL Think I'm gonna need them. Talk to yall a little later. If I'm able. Grin

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

No it wouldn't Moon.

Funny thing around here is DH says waste of time, cost to much to light all that junk. But as soon as he gets home he will say " those candy canes are crooked" and then he will go straighten up my crooked line.

He knows I can't make a straight line even with a ruler!

A gentleman I clean for once in a while gave me a fireplace made out of wood, he use to put outside at Xmas. Going to put it outside on the porch, cept DH doesn't know it yet.

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

Dixie that one is going to keep you fit and trim.. :)

Marinette, WI(Zone 4b)

OMG Jean. And I thought we had a vet horror story.

Not the vet we have now, him I would trust with my own life. A very nice and caring guy. He even cried as he was putting my son's husky to sleep due to blastomycosis, a fungal infection of the lungs that we battled with for a couple of years, but her lungs just kept filling with fluid.

The horror story was the vet she was going to before we found Dr. Mark.

We noticed the husky had lost weigh. I could feel her back bone. We took her in and the vet did x-rays and said she had a tumor. He wanted to do emergency surgery on a Saturday. (More money then). The surgery was done on Monday and they closed her back up because there was no tumor. Then he said he thought she had a twisted lung lob and wanted to do surgery again. We promptly pulled all of our animals out of his care.
We found Dr. Mark, and he helped us to figure out what her heath problem was. They said that the Blasto in her did not show the usual signs that they see in dogs. They told us she was their poster dog for Blastomycosis, to teach other vets how it can also show up.

Cherokee was 9 when we had to have her put to sleep.

OK, off to check on my big guy and then past my bed time.

It will be so cute that DH will just shake his head, grin....fill it full of stockings and the kids will love it.

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Sweet eyed, beautiful girl there Kassy. How is the big guy doing?

Later Dixie....have fun

(Zone 5b)

JJ we need a pic of that fireplace....brownies hot out of the oven!

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

OK Lynnie,
I will tell DH he has to go get it because Lynnie wants to see it.
That should do it, but if not I have my own methods that work pretty well.. wink ..wink LOL

Back out I go

Marinette, WI(Zone 4b)

I just got called after I sent that in, that my little rug rat (as my son called him), was out. I guess I didn't latch the kennel and he made it out. He was very good about letting me pick him up and taking him back to it and putting him back in.

As my DIL said, Simba has an ON/OFF switch. He can be purring one minute and growling the next.

He tired to scratch his stitches today and stopped and growled. I hope he was growling at himself.
He seems to do better when we leave him in the kennel. I think the added moving around when he gets out hurts him.

Jean, that pretty husky was an abused dog. My son got her at an animal shelter, and just some things that she did, like putting her head down when we walked up to her with a paper in our hand, told us she had been abused. She was a very pretty and loving dog.

OK, gotta get some sleep

(Zone 5b)

good night Kassy! get some rest!

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

How did the brownies turn out? GSJ always wants one the minute they come out of the oven....stands there with his milk waiting....grin

(Zone 5b)

I can't eat them yet, we're bringing them to mother's for dinner. I'll report back ;)
I'm bringing the in laws too....and a bottle of wine......

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

10-4 on the bottle of wine....grin

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

Hello,
I got a dumb ?

I want blue icicle lights and I only have white, can I spray the paint and let the overspray paint the bulb?

Or will it catch fire when it gets hot??

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

Kassy, poor poor puppy!!!!

Dave, ok, is that carpet, a textile, or some type of artwork?

I had to pick something up a Lowe's. So of course I had to check the markdown plants. And I saved one. It is a Ardisia 'Red' humilis, unless you have a better name for it Dave. It looks like it is a bush. There are 4 stems. And yes, there are holes in the black pot and aluminum foil in the bottom of the chartreuse pot. I know most of the leaves don't look good but in spite of that, I thought it was a plant worth saving. Especially for 50 cents.

JJ, sorry but I dont't think that is a good idea. I think on the paint can it says something about not getting it too close to heat!

Moon, why do I need a large aluminum roaster pan?

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

If they burnt up I would have an excuse to buy new ones. hmm
I was going to change the bulbs, but there is like 300 on each string and I need 4 of them just to do the porch so it would cost more than new ones

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

JJ, I think you will need to get new strings of blue bulbs unless you can find some way to use your blue another way. Blue spot light?

I just want to be sure you don't burn down your house in the process of painting those bulbs. And of course we don't want anything to happen to you also.

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

Alright venice. I will use white this year and replace them after Christmas when they go on sale.
I don't want to burn down my house either, I'd have to live in shoebox before DH got time to build me a new one. LOL

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

JJ, thank you. We want you to be around next year!

Jesup, GA

A told B and Btold C I'll meet you at the top of the coconut tree. Whee! said D to EFG, I'll beat you to the top of the coconut tree. Bet yall cant guess what we have been doing. Grin JJ's do not spray paint any of your lights. Unless your planning a huge Bar B Q. My husband does a lot of auto body painting. That stuff is flamable. I think the spray paint that you buy in the cans are too. Kassy ,that was a beautiful dog. I like your new plant Venice. I'm sure it will be beautiful once you give it some TLC. Save a brownie for me Lynnie. I'll have to pass on the wine though. I'm crazy enough as it is.LOL Did ya get the yard looking good Moon? I love milk with my brownies too.

Jesup, GA

I'm gonna shell some Pecans and make some brownies. I cant take it any longer. I'll be back after my feeding frenzy!

Jesup, GA

I think a Venus Fly Trap ate Trina! Wonder what she's been up to???

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

That was so funny that her kids were throwing meat into her Venus Fly Trap! Horrible I know but kind of funny. Just an interactive plant.

I was hoping Dave would show up. Maybe he has good weather and he is building again.

Keaau, HI

Hi Carol, I can't really tell much from the Ardesia plant. Needs to get mature.

Thumbnail by Metrosideros
Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

Dave, is that a photo of a painting or an actural painting? What about that other one? Carpet, textile, or someother artwork?

How old does this plant need to be before it is mature?

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

Hey Dave, I meant to ask you. Do you think the pot is big enough for that large Brom?

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

How is everyone tonight?

Keaau, HI

They are both textiles, shirts.

I missed the large Bromeliad. What thread is it on?

The Ardesia will get several feet tall before it gets mature.

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

You remember it. It is sitting in the large brass pot.

Keaau, HI

Hi Smiley!

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

Hi Dave! What kind of big fat leaf is that?

Venice, is the brom you're talking about one that you rescued from Home Depot? You cut the dying leaves off? I remember Dave saying "take her shears away!"

Keaau, HI

Definitely transplant it to a larger pot. If the plant is given room it will form a large colony.

Here is what I was thinking when you said large Brom!

Thumbnail by Metrosideros
Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

No, I did not cut any leaves off of that one. I wanted to cut them off that one and others but Dave threatened me!

Dave, here is the Brom I was talking about. How long will it take my new little plant to grow several feet tall?

Thumbnail by venice62
Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

Now that is a large Brom! Wish mine looked that good!

Keaau, HI

It is a Dieffenbachia leaf!

Thumbnail by Metrosideros
Keaau, HI

Aechmea fasciata, it won't get much larger than that.

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

Kitty ate every leaf off a branch of my Triangle Palm! There are just little stubs left!

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

That's a nice Brom, Venice. Nothing to sneeze at.

My son is over. Sitting on the couch with one eye on his laptop and the other on the TV. I feel like saying "how about YOU watch Fargo and I'LL take the laptop?" That way I could be in the same room with everyone and still be here on DG. My computer is upstairs.
