He even cried as he was putting my son's husky to sleep due to blastomycosis, a fungal infection of the lungs that we battled with for a couple of years, but her lungs just kept filling with fluid. The horror story was the vet she was going to before we found Dr. Mark. We noticed the husky had lost weigh. I could feel her back bone. We took her in and the vet did x-rays and said she had a tumor. He wanted to do emergency surgery on a Saturday. (More money then). The surgery was done on Monday and they closed her back up because there was no tumor. Then he said he thought she had a twisted lung lob and wanted to do surgery again. We promptly pulled all of our animals out of his care. We found Dr. Mark, and he helped us to figure out what her heath problem was. They said that the Blasto in her did not show the usual signs that they see in dogs. They told us she was their poster dog for Blastomycosis, to teach other vets how it can also show up. Cherokee was 9 when we had to have her put to sleep. OK, off to check on my big guy and then past my bed time. |
