Kitty is fine. But she is outdoor in the evening so I don't know what happens then. I know she likes to eat grass but I would think that palm is a little coarse to chew!

JJsgramma, you must love decorating for the Holiday's. I took a wrong turn while walking on a trail in Florida the other day and found that someone is starting to decorate for Christmas as well. I quickly found the right trail back to where I was suppose to be though;-)

Halloween and Christmas, love it

I know its early but when the weather is nice like this I'm not waiting. I light it up Thanksgiving night, so I have to start early to be ready.

Venice the candy canes have plastic stakes at least the ones that haven't broke do. the others I make a stake to fit in the end out of metal or wood. If you don't make a hole in the ground first the plastic will break.

Rachel, I have been buying some tropical plants at Lowe's for really cheap! I paid 50 cents for that Brom. The people at the registers have been very flexible with prices because most of their markdown plants are dead or just about dead.

Dave, hope you are feeling better tomorrow. I made chili yesterday but you wouldn't like it because it has ground beef in it. I put one pound of pinto beans in it also. So you can see that I made a big pot full of it. I have 3 containers in the freezer and one more in the fridge. So I am prepared for cold winter days.

Thanks Rachel, I will post a pic when its all lit up. Thanksgiving is good too. Just more of a Holiday to be Thankful and reflect on life instead of decorating and partying. At least here anyways.

Do either of you know anything about the sweet potato vines people grow? I was thinking of them for my window boxes next year. Was wondering if I could buy any 'ole sweet potatoes and do the water & toothpick thing.

No idea smiley. But that would be pretty.

I use them in my pots, but buy new little plants every year.

Smiley I have a mess of tubers in my garage I'll send ya some if you want, I had the green ones and the black ones. I'll have to check the tubers, because I put them aside and then got real busy with my FIL's accident.

That would be great Lynnie. The window boxes end up costing a lot to get enough stuff to fill them up, there's 3 of them.

This year I bought licorice vines, 3 for each box, plus the other stuff, it was almost $50 when I was done. I did cut off some starts for next year, but not enough I don't think.

At your leisure, if you have any to spare, that would be great.

Yes Lester's roosterness is coming out more and more. Almost every morning when I go in to feed them he will peck at my feet and ruffle his little feathers and strut around like he's the king of his domain. I have to keep telling him he's gonna find out how it feels to be the first chicken in orbit. He doesn't seem to grasp the concept, of the consequences of his actions towards his mommy!! LOL

She helped me bake them. Kitchen was a mess,she was a mess, and I let her take some home with her for baby Sissy.mommy and dad. Went running into her house telling every one of her culinary expertise. LOL
