Why wouldn't we?
geezer asks forgivness.
Thought it was a national holiday.
Just because I'm thrilled at having my website up and running
I got mail, but theres no school today.
lol, you're forgiven...Veteran's Day is Wednesday.
Yes - kids will be home again. Seems like they're always off!
I thought maybe they made it Yankees Day ^_^
Anyone ever buy suet online?? Cheaper than stores? (Including shipping, of course.)
Not yet. There are usually good deals at the hardward stores here. I need some too so I'm interested.
I do, but not because it's cheaper though, because it has a better variety...

OMG a smorg for birds!!! How do you decide WC?
no H1N1 for Met's fans that cheer for the Yankees - loyalty is big with me, sorry victor - maybe you better half can help out
dnut i can not imagine watching him try to move around some of these rocks i have - that might be worth saving my vaccine for him when i think about it
The suet I put out is basically for the woodpeckers they really don't care for the ones sold locally at the store around here, they go for the insect suet I get online. so I get a case of 12 about every 3-4 mos. I get black oil sunflower seed, & crushed corn either from HD or Lowes for the other feeders, whole peanuts at the supermarket for the bluejays and others.
Wow - lots to choose from, WC - thanks.
np ☺!
What makes one better than another??
I get the C&S insect one,
http://www.bestnest.com/bestnest/RTProduct.asp?SKU=CSP-CS12531
which 'flavor' when it comes to the others would depend on the season and the species targeted...
Dehydrated bugs sounds good. I have been using 'raison crunch' but I have alot of dried fruits in the garden in the winter so I think bugs will be better. Mine is for nuthatches and chickadees.
Yum!
And healthy too. Bugs is a food group for birds.
They're entertaining, I find they provide diversion and enjoyment especially when it's 5° outside and nothing else is moving! I even feed the squirrel, I have a squirrel feeder, the squirrel goes after the peanuts in her feeder and leaves the birds feeder alone. - nicely mannered! lol! Even a rabbit, he comes to within 2' from me when I'm feeding the birds, tastes a bit of everything in the yard but usually leaves the majority of my stuff alone. DW & I enjoy them all. ☺
Me too.
I hate it when sports fans riot. Really gives the fans a bad name. There's no need for it.
WC, I noticed one of the brands, on the top right of that page, is one I get cheaper at Ocean State Job Lot here. I get it for $1.20. That place's price works out to $1.67 each if you buy the pack of 12. http://www.bestnest.com/bestnest/RTProduct.asp?SKU=WIS-002
The woodpeckers here like it just fine. I love watching the birds eat.

Did anyone hear about this today? http://wbztv.com/local/orange.line.mbta.2.1301734.html Sure was a close call!
Karen
Isn't there usually a death when there is a Detroit championship? At least overturned cars. Crazy!
Yankees are usually very well behaved because they've had so much practice.
Yes, they only overturn cops!
November 9, 1965. 44 years ago today. A cable at Niagra Falls snapped and the east coast was plunged into darkness.
The Big Blackout.
I remember it well! My sister & I thought the whole thing was great fun.
That was w-a-y before we were so electronically controlled.
Nancy
I have a faint recollection of it. I was about three. I remember my mom and grandmother looking out the window for my dad's cousin.
I was 14.
Mom was on her way home from work. The elevated train had just entered the station one stop before hers. Everyone had to walk thru the train to the 1st car to get off. She was lucky. Lots of people had to walk along the cat walk next to the tracks... even worse, thru the subway tunnels. YIKES!
That was a total miracle she wasn't hit by that train.
That was the train she was on. It stopped with the 1st car in the station so they were able to exit onto the platform.
The 1965 Blackout was a "good" one.
Unlike the 1977 one. That's the one with all the looting, fires, etc. Scary.
In 2003 - we had terrorist attacks on our mind. Once it was determined that we weren't under attack, people were orderly & made their way home as best as they could.
Nancy
Sure was!
When visiting Long Island, leave your pets at home.....
What is wrong with people??!!

I was 11. NYers behaved very well.
I just got back from the Wild Bird Store and got Insect Suet which contains crickets. We don't have crickets here so this will be fine dining ^_^ It was a little pricy being a specialty store but I get a free one if I buy a dozen. Also I like supporting this store. The owner is so cool. He does a news letter every month and puts customer bird photos up around the store.
Dinner delivered???

My dad walked home from 23 street and 7th ave to Astoria.
Gabagoo- She was lucky she only had one stop. Wow! that was a long way Victor.
I was 8, my mom had made brownies for desert and we waited in the dark for my dad to come home. He walked from the New Jersey path train to 135th Street in Manhatten, on the tracks.Me and my sister wound up eating all the brownies by candle light. It was a good night for us :-)
Guess I'm too young to remember that black out.
Karen
re pets: think of the guy in Cleveland with 11 bodies in the house.
Blackout: we were safe in CT without long commutes.
