i have asked my wife to bring home an H1N1 shot for me - went to brew this afternoon and my buddy had a cold and one of the guys at the brew shop was sick and had just got out of bed a few days ago from a fever - did not touch anything they did - still not going to take any chances
Coffee Break #22 - NY Rules!!!!
Ah, broke down did ya?
My DH had a routine DR.s appt on Thurs.----his pulse was so slow he sent him immediately to the cardiologist, who did an EKG---but everything was fine---family doctor wasn't so sure so he ordered a heart monitor for this week---but I'm thinking it's leftover from the bronchitis---and no flu shots available here until maybe end of Nov.
Wonderful you got to see 'The Boss', Dave! I know some here don't like him. I remember we were chatting about that some time back. But I think he's great! You're not too old, Dave. I graduated in '81. You're just joking about staying back 14 times, right?
On that flu shot, Bill, I've been told by my doc it can take a month to build an immunity. In the mean time you can still get sick if you were recently exposed.
Karen
My understanding is that it's about ten days for healthy adults, Karen.
Springsteen always sounded to me like a cross between my brother singing in the shower (painful) and Bill Murray.
Cool, Dave.
Son seems to be doing well now. However, my grandson in Oregon had some bloodwork done that showed he has 'mono'. He has been sick off/on for a bit. He's 12 and lives to play basketball at his school. Somehow, I think he's not going to be a happy camper.
Jan, hope your grandson gets better soon!
Karen
I've seen that one before, Sherrie. Too funny! I just had my sister watch it, and she thought it was hilarious!
Karen
we miss you Sherrie!!!!.. hope you are good
Too funny. Loved the video.
I had the flu shot Fri, now DD has a sore throat and temp. Too soon for the shot to help!
H1N1 or seasonal?
I hope everyone feels better. A lot of stuff going around our community.
Karen,Thanks. He is still amazing. Over 3 hours of Bruce type intensity, still at age 60.
found a tick on me this morning that over-nighted on me - from raking yesterday - will have to get another lime disease pill tomorrow - did a what i thought was a good tick check too - at least it was one of the big ones.
Cowboys win!
Bill, there is a lyme pill??
Dave, I went to college with Greetings and E Street Shuffle :) Jumper may be interested to know that his daughter is an equestrian equitation champion.
Hi Sherrie, where have you been??
Needs 24-36 hrs to transmit lyme. I assume Bill means antibiotics, Weeze. That is certainly one vaccine I will get if they ever perfect it.
amazing we only have 1/2 the halloween stuff packed away... and I already have christmas on the brain!!
My bil, who is a NYPD detective, had to work the Yankee parade. He was knocked over by the crowd trying to get on the SI ferry and was kicked in the head and stepped on. He had to use his pepper spray. He suffered a minor concussion.
Never happened with Mets fans.
That's absolutely terrible Victor.
Horrible! Mets fans are too numb from years of mediocre baseball.
yes i meant antibiotics venu - use to be three pills now they have one. it was not on for 24 hours although still has left a pretty good sore.
Horrible Victor. What is the matter with people?
That's terrible about your bil Victor! As much as I know about human behavior, I will never "get" that mentality that allows such to occur. And it happens, even in the AV world. In a rush to get to a sales table at a show, some AV hobbists knocked over an 80 year old woman to the floor! No one came to her aid til a friend of mine , who had witnessed this from a short distance, helped her up. Luckily, the woman was not seriously hurt!
Victor, are you going to tour the USS New York? I just saw photos on Regis and Kelly--looks wonderful. There is also a fan page on facebook.
Thanks, all.
I would love to, Phoebe. Not sure I will get the chance, though.
How sad that a celebration would result in a police officer having to use pepper spray :(
Awww...sounds like something you would love, and a good thing for the kids too. Also was hoping for a virtual tour via your new camera! LOL!
My bil said he reported for work downtown at 5AM and there were already many people there - drunk.
Victor, it was the seasonal one. DD is better, kept her home from school to rest. It seems mostly a sore throat now.
Venue, I didn't know that. You can find horse people in the oddest places!
Victor, Must have been the sailors :-)
Hee hee. Or the leftover Phillies.
Ha!
Just back from the doc. Got my seasonal flu shot. They don't have the H1N1 yet, and when I asked about it, she told me I'm not in the at-risk group so I would not get it.
If you want it, go somewhere else.
Like Bill's house?
Is he overcharging?
Doubt he'll welcome NYers.
Wear your Phillies shirt. You can get one cheap nowadays.
I'd rather wear my Bill Buckner one. ^_^
Even better :-)
I think wha will probably make you move rocks to earn your shot. Right wha?
