That bear is really weird looking, poor thing.

Speedy recovery to you, Sandy, welcome back!
Glad you're feeling better!
thank y'all
Glad you're feeling better, Wren---can't wait to see more demon photos!
My wife's colleague has swine. Another colleague's 36 year old husband just died from it. He had asthma. They have 3 kids. Getting scary.

The asthma is scary because it has weakened the lungs. I don't see the right DR. until Dec, but if I get stuff in the lungs I am to call.
Welcome back wren!
As a counter point to the fear, both of my kids had H1N1 and bounced right back. 42% of our high school was out sick. Now 5% without fatality. I got it, I have mild asthma,it turned into pneumonia and I'm back to work.
That is so sad Victor. I have no idea what flu I just had but it was a baddy. I'm bouncy too now. Glad to hear you are bouncy Dave47 ^_^
Happy to see you back Wren. Must be nice to have the demon child at home.
Good for you, Dave, to be recovering and back to work. I've never had a flu shot and will not be getting it this year. I guess Wha and I are the control subjects.
I saw a small part of the parade today. First thought was that Johnny D is not getting the recognition he should. Second thought was that I could compost that confetti ^_^
Sounds like you're recommending it, Dave. ^_^
Heal well, Wren. Glad everyone that has been "under the weather" (maybe should be on the ' expressions you hate thread') seems to be getting back to 'normal'. Yay!!!
My youngest son, that lives in Texas, had a scare on Wednesday. He was in his chair, but not feeling great, when the next thing he knew he woke up surrounded by his coworkers. He was sent to the emergency room by ambulance. Blood work, CAT scan, etc. He said his hands and feet felt tingly. No diagnosis, except that he fainted. His temp was only 95 and he was dehydrated. Kinda weird.
My pineapple sage is looking good. It started blooming right after it got cold. I was wondering if it was going to bloom at all. I really liked the light green of the foliage all season.
Confetti compost sounds like a great idea!
I'm with you Venu!
Far from recommending it. Believe me, I was worried knowing I had the flu, asthma & pneumonia and my Dr. wanted me in the hospital. But then the hospital (and I) calmed down & treated my illness instead of a pandemic. Just trying to help someone else keep perspective. The overwhelming majority of people with H1N1 get the flu..and nothing more. Even if you have complications like me.
Hope he is fine, Jan.
That is weird Jan. Hope all is well.
He seems to be now, he says. We are going down to see him in December. Can hardly wait. Our only request is that the 'hot tub' is hot.
Good to know he's better Jan. That same thing happened to my nephew a few weeks ago. Except he wasn't at work. He's 3.
It will be nice to be in a "hot" tub in December :)
Similar thing with the son of a friend.
Jan, glad he is doing better. That was scary
Thanks for the good thoughts. We had a hard frost last night. Elephant ears are flopped over.
So are my dahlias.
Welcome back, Sandy! Hope you recover quickly!
Terrible about your colleague's husband, Victor. Yeah, that flu is getting really bad. I got bronchitis on the heels of it, but I'm prone to that, anyhow. I have asthma, too, but I survived. Maybe I got on meds soon enough and others are not. Don't know. It's important to see a doc asap if anyone gets flu-like symptoms, especially if they are high risk.
That's weird what happened to your son, Jan. Hope is doesn't happen again.

I took a surprise break from my recuperation when a former college roommate called with a free ticket for Springsteen at MSG. Incredible! Still played over 3 hours, joined by Elvis Costello for his last song. He is playing whole albums inside his concerts these days. Last night, for the first time, he played The Wild, The Innocent, and the E Street Shuffle.
Just so happens that was the album we had in our apartment in college (his 2nd). Great seats, "lounge" passes, perfect. He even dedicated Glory Days to the Yankees.
What a treat! That will cure anything :-)
Thanks! At least I'm no worse for the wear andI had a night I'll remember.
What a great opportunity Dave!
Not all cures come in pill form....and the fact you were in college when he was coming up makes me feel much older than I did when I got up this morning! LOL
It came out in 1973. I graduated 1976. I think that makes me old!
Not as old as someone who graduated in 1957--you youngsters.
But I stayed back 14 times.
