Parsley, Sage, Rosemary and Time ....Change

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

Ok who has an easy way to clean the fins and pipes for hot water baseboard registers.!!!!

I wanna play outside but this has to be done put it off last year cuz of carpal tunnel surgery.

Marinette, WI(Zone 4b)

Good luck JJ, I remember having to clean then and I never found an easy way to do it.

Ok, off to get ready to go to the flu clinic, so see if I am one of the lucky ones to get the shot.

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

Only way I found was vacuum out what I can then turn shop vac hose around to blow out the rest, use squirt bottle to squirt water on to wash off and the blow again to dry.

And CHOKE, CHOKE, Choke on the dust til it settles then vacuum and dust.
What a pain in the tush.

But thanks anyway. Gonna get rich when I figuere something out. LOL

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

JJ, I use a soft bristle brush and a dustbuster to clean the registers for the central heat and air. the brush loosens it and the dust buster sucks it up before it can scatter everywhere. That won't get inside, but it might make the rest a little easier.

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

Thanks Moon.
I tried a small brush and the vacuum, took it off the top of it, but the pipe that the fins are hooked onto are so dirty....from years of just vacuuming them... that I know it is making it hard for that heat to get from the pipe to the fins. Got one vacuum blowing while the other is sucking so not real bad.

If those darn fins weren't so sharp and didn't bend so easy it would be easier. Keep telling myself once its done it won't be so bad the next time.

It is amazing how much dust can accumilate between those little fins. thinking if I get one of those lint brushes like you use to clean the dryer vent that might fit between them and not scatter dust so bad.

Will be worth it if house stays warmer for less $$$. If not good bet they will not get this clean again!!!

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

Brainstorm here!!

Paintbrush should get between fins without bending them.

Yuck kassy!! Did you get your vaccination??

Looking good Dave. Won't be too much longer before you can start on the roof....should be fairly smooth sailing from there.

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

Night Dixie! Of corse I'm at the Piggy swap, where else can I get 200 packs of seeds for about $6?

(Zone 5b)

the outside....I vacuum the inside..or get the kids to do it....hahaha

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

I was cleaning the fins and pipe. What a job.
Maybe I can borrow the girls for Thansgiving break and they can do the upstairs ones for me????

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

This old house is to dusty I guess.
I have vacuumed them before but they were still awfully dirty so I took them apart and used the shop vac to blow the rest out then used bottle of water and walpaper brush and washed them.

Wouldn't have noticed all the dirt if I hadn't been sucking up all those darn beetles along the walls.

(Zone 5b)

oh my husband got the monster bug finally!
the dust is definitely worse in winter when the heat's on.......

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

Glad he found the bug.
Did the daughter go back to school or still sick?
