Morning all! Smiley wakey wakey!
Good morning! I sat here at the computer staring at it... wouldn't connect... AAH! You get used to your habits, you know?
Kassy, the bridge story is completely true. When my beloved cockapoo Phoebe died, she came to me in a dream and told me exactly that. No lie. I was 15 and heartbroken.
Everyone have a good day!
hello everybody...this little piggy is feeling fat and happy!
Good Morning Ladies. Smiley have a great day at work, it is HumpDay, Hurray.
Lynnie, are you working at home or for profit today? grin Did the kidlet go back to school today?
Kassy, think positively. I positively believe all will be well with that big guy. grin
A Good Morning to Venice, Dixie, Trina and Dave....
Any one seen Imazadi lately? I know Rachel is vacationing and Ican is BF-ing....grin. Where have all the gypsies gone.....?
... and Flowers? Where has she been?
Smiley, remember when Flowers had to take her computer in and they gave her a loaner laptop? They called her to pickup her cpu and when she got there told her it was fried, she would have to replace it, and give us back ours....
She has to drive out to her son's place to use her DIL's cpu if she wants to log-in. I am hoping Santa is good to my Buddy, and brings her a new one for Christmas, grin
Moon Imzadi has been busy on the Piggy Swap...that is FUN!!! I am gonna have an awesome garden next year!
Guess I will have to check that one out and give her a shout......grin
her and seedtosser plus I think I've seen them both on the christmas craft thread! LOL
I have t admit I'm being a little piggy too! LOL
Guess they are getting ready for winter seed starting and Christmas decorating....
Morning All,
Kassy hope kitty is fine and Lynnie glad daughter is better.
Sent those wishes about 5 last night but don't know where they went. Had to call provider today cause internet,, stopped working at the same time.
They are having to replace alot of modems, so just got it fixed.
Probably should have waited until the housework was done. LOL
It is suppose to be in the 50's today and the 60's this weekend so going to be outside alot.
Will be candy cane central here by Monday...... If all goes right.
Catch ya all later
WOOHOOOOOOO!!!!!! I just scored seeds for 11 different daylily's...Moon's fault!
Oh and guess what I found a new lily I adore too (Moon's fault got me looking at lilies!) Candy Lilies...those are neat!
and I got seeds for a fancy leaf cut japanese maple...and VEGGIES!!!!!!
Good Morning JJ. So glad you are gonna have good weather...wouldn't want DHSteve to have to wear his LJ's to drive in those stakes....grin
Reminds me of an old fabric softener ad....Mother tells daughter if they got the wrong one it is the granddaughter's fault.....sure, I am also responsible for the heat death of the universe.....LOL Broad shoulders can carry the blame....grin
but see Moon in this case it's a good thing...LOL at least next year my backyard won't be a haven for weeds...LOL
Must be something in the air. Our cable box went *poof!* the other night. They rebooted it remotely though. Right in the middle of The World Series of Monday Night Football. (thought DH was gonna jones there for a minute)
Moon, I forgot that that happened to Flowers. Do you keep a notebook? LOL. I could never remember all the stuff that goes on here.
Smiley, I don't remember the stuff as much as who the stuff happens to....grin I can't tell ya what ya said, just what ya did....lol
LOL Moon I hope Ican can find some time for us soon! LOL
Pretty Dave
Moon, while you are here, I have a question. If I plant early spring bulbs, do I plant on top of them or around them or what? Maybe you don't plant those type since it is so warm down there.
JJ, Smiley, Lynnie, Kassy, maybe you can help me with this question.????
If you can mix your bulbs according to bloomtime, it doesn't matter how you plant them, spring bloomers with late spring bloomers with summer/fall bloomers. That way you always have plants to cover the area.
You could mix petunia seeds in when you plant the spring bulbs, and the petunias would cover the area when the bulb foliage dies back. That is what I do here. I plant my bulbs, plant pansies on top of them, remove the pansies when the bulbs start growing well, and just about the time the bulbs are dying back, the petunias are growing.
ok now that Dave has made me Twitterpated...I will be back in little go to go dig some things up and put some things in...LOL
I wondered what to do with that dead space... thanks Moon, never thought of annuals.
Dave, I have the white flowered, blue flowered and now this variegated Commelina....they are all very invasive here, and quite the garden thug....I have been trying to kill the white spiderwort for nearly 8 years without much success....grin
Too welcome Smiley. I have found that the pansies and petunias work well as they are not deep root plants and don't disturb the bulbs when it is time to remove them.
Moon, we usually plant all bulbs, including irises, here in the fall so they can develop a root system before it freezes. We can't plant spring flowers or seeds until after our last frost, April 15th. Then they say to cut the flower stem of the bulb but keep the browning leaves on the plant until they are totally dead. I had forgotten how annoying those dying leaves are.
Do you plant your bulbs in the spring?
Also, I am NOT interested in digging up bulbs and replanting them every year. I always thought that was the good thing about bulbs that you just leave them in the ground and then they end up multiplying.
Revised!

Why do you dig them up Venice? I guess that depends on what you have. We have to dig up the Canna rhizomes every year, but that's all.
Venice, I plant my bulbs at the indicated time, and then they stay in the ground. I do not dig and replant.I am a lazy gardener that way...grin
These are the pansies I plant in the fall, Icicle Pansy and Icicle Viola

Oh my gosh! I had no idea there is a pansy that is more like a perennial!!!!
Neat thing about this place...something new to learn everyday....grin
Okay Lady, hand over the dog and no one gets hurt.
Kassy, that's my beloved Phoebe's twin brother! He's a doll, what's his name?
Kassy, sorry about your puppy. He is a real cutie.
Smiley, his name is Dusty ^_^
I told my mom he was a little dust mop when he was small.
Thanks venice, I still concider him my mom's dog.
