Jaye take care, we are thinking of you.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

I cross-posted on the last thread:

"I love yams no matter how they're cooked!

Nice pics Cindy, it does sound like he's getting serious.

Men are weird. If you tell them you're looking for a marriage they freak out, if you tell them you want to date other people they freak out. Still seems you've got a good one Cindy!"

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CRISSY!
Hope you have a spendid day!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, CRISSY

Well, I didn't get my date/ride with Richard yesterday. His sister got bucked off of her horse and broke her collar bone, plus she has R.S.D. ( I don't know what that is) but he said they had to make sure all of the wires legs were still attached to the battery pack that's in her butt. And here I thought he stood me up. So now I'm waiting to hear back from him on tonight. He may come to the bowling alley to see me ^_^.

Another beautiful fall day and I'm going to be bowling, when I want to be outside working.

Have a good day, Sistahs

Happy birthday Crissy!!!!!

This is what RSD is, and it sounds very painful. Hope she is doing OK?

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

RSD is Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy

http://www.healthline.com/galecontent/reflex-sympathetic-dystrophy?utm_medium=ask&utm_source=smart&utm_campaign=article&utm_term=Reflex+Sympathetic+Dystrophy&ask_return=Reflex+Sympathetic+Dystrophy

Doesn't sound good.

Thank you so much everyone!!!! I'm doing my birthday dance in my head, of course my bone spurs are stabbing me in the left hip so I have a chiropractor appt with a new chiropractor at 3pm today, hopefully I'll make it back before 4:30 so someone else doesn't have to cover the phones between 4:30 and 5.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Crissy, sorry to hear your hurting from those darn bone spurs. I knw they can be painful. Hope the chiro helps you out later today.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

I'm going to the Chiropractor, I'm going to the Chiropractor and I can't wait!! Should schedule a massage too! Just learned that Ms. Cheerful who can't wish me a happy birthday with the rest of the group, or at all, cancelled her dr appt this afternoon so I don't think I'm going to rush to make it back. If it wasn't for her dr appt I would have taken today off. gggrrrrrrrrrr I would say words but I'm not going to...

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Happy Birthday (((((((((((((Crissy)))))))))))))) I'd take the rest of the day off, if I were you lol
I go to choir too, but that doesn't mean I take off work early. It's scheduled so we have time to go home, eat dinner, Then go to practice.
Silly Ms Cheerful is "having one over on you" m'dear! (on another thread, Crissy wrote that she had to hurry back, so Ms Cheerful could go for Choir Practice HAH! I say!!!!)
I know you may think that doesn't sound Christian, but I don't think lying is Christian, either!!

~Susan~

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

I called my #2 sister, Alice, and didn't get an answer (re: her lung cancer results)
It could be because sister #1, Evelyn, DH (Leo) is in the hospital. He has cancer, is 80 yo, and has been falling a lot. Evelyn is the oldest sister. He's been failing for a lot of years and, sad to say, is not expected to live.

Please put Alice, Evelyn & Leo in your prayers.
Evelyn isn't taking this well (she's been crying on the phone to my mom, but my mom says "she's a cryer anyway, not like me!)
Evelyn loves "the old goat" and would be lost without him.

~Susan~

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Susan, sorry to hear the sad news, I have them at the top, for prayers!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Thank you.

You can add me as well - gotten my bronchial cough back. Maybe it's stress, or overwork (same thing, right?), or lack of sleep. Whatever the reason, my chest feels sooooooo tired........
I have a lot of work and running around to do, and more of the same for tomorrow am.........

~Susan~

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

This is what my DS Alice wrote to me:

"got my results and they have proven that it is cancer, which I expected. I will get a breathing test next week and then see the surgeon, radiation oncologist and medical oncologist. Surgeon is recommending surgery. I said no, I want the cyber knife ( known here as the Artiste ) Depends on my breathing test, so right now I will try not to think about anything till after I have the breathing test."

She's had 3 surgerys on her 2 lungs. Most of the surgeries have been on her left one, and it's the one that's gotten the new lump.
She's trying to be strong, and not "borrow trouble", which is what I try to do (not always successful....)

~Susan~

Aw Susan, so sorry to hear this. When I came home from bowling I noticed my SIL's car at his mom's. She had a bad night, and is refusing to eat. She is ready for the Good Lord to take her home and wants it to happen soon. So close to the hoildays too. I hope she will hang on until after Christmas at least for my granddaughter's sake. But I understand how she feels. I wouldn't want to drag it on either if I knew I didn't have a chance of beating it. I remember one time my husband saying how a friend of his was not handling his wife's cancer, I told him of course he is the one that is going to be left behind. I think it is hardest on us that are left behind. Do I make sense?

Now on a happy note, hee hee. When I got home from bowling I had an email from Dave. He is at work and it's slow and he is bored. So I emailed him back and we got to flirting back and forth, he has asked me to go out Friday night ^_^.

Susan and Cindy, I agree, only He knows whats going to happen. All we can do is say our prayers and ask to keep them comfortable, and out of pain! Prayers for both of you too! I know it is a hard time, but please know we are here for you. Just hollar, and someone will be there for you.
God Bless

Sending prayers for strength for my sistahs in need. Prayers for your family members and comfort for you too. Blessings.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CRISSY!

Sending up prayers for Uncle Jack, Alice, Evelyn & Leo, Susan, and Cindy's SIL. Lord, if it is Your Will, please send Your divine mercies on these folks.

OK Y'all. It's official. You can all fuss at me. I've officially overdone it. Went outside to load up the rototiller and realised the pickets were still in the truck. Unloaded just under 150 4' pickets (these look to be 2x1s) and stacked them.

Drove to my remote garden location near Knightdale NC. Rototilled about a 100' long row all by myself with my new used Honda small tiller. First time we used it and I was right: I can use it without Randall's help, but it can buck and jerk me around a bit. Also dug my friend some room for a new tulip bed. Then we went for fabulous fish lunch. After lunch fetched a pickup truck load of compost from the city. Shoveled and toted (long way for half of it) 28 wheelbarrows full of compost, spread it on the rototilled row and raked it even. There was no daylight left at all, and no upper arm or hand muscles, all were jelly, so I need to go back asap to rototill one more time. That's enough for around 80 irises. If it wasn't for my back brace, would not have made it through. And I don't think my arms can handle any workout tomorrow after today.

that's the most work I've done at one time in 15 months. Sort of exciting to feel good again......and took 2 Aleve as I stumbled in the door. Randall, bless his heart, is fixing hamburgers and tater tots. Hope I can hold my eyes open long enough to eat. Going to record Dancing with Stars. Just it case...."sweet dreams, sweet sistahs!"

Happy Birthday Crissy!!!

(Pegi) Norwalk, CA(Zone 10b)

So many need our prayers right now. Will add all to my prayers.

Bonjon, you need to slow down. Such energy to do all that work and with a back brace on too. I compare a rototiller to a jack hammer and that can really mess you up. Haven't tried it myself, but watched DH do it years ago.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Thank you - now you've made me all weepy, and feeling loved...........

I just popped in for a moment, cuz I brought some work home with me, and it looks like about 3 hours worth of it. My bronchial cough startled someone walking about 1/2 block in front of me LOL I just couldn't stay at work another minute.

re work: I have 10 letters to write, faxes to create (re: letters); a set of minutes to transcribe, an agenda (both of the last for an 8am meeting tomorrow), and when I take a moment to breathe - a Tote Bag to finish for my buddy (should have been mailed the last day of Oct..........)

I've told Bob I need to be in bed, asleep, at 11pm (and it's 6pm now), he's to heat up the pizza (from work lunch today - catered from Pizza Hut and 3 pizzas left - I was told to take one home), and keep the hot tea coming!!

Bless you all and thank you for your T & P. Working like a fiend always gets me past the "bad stuff".....

~Susan~

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Susan, you need to add some whiskey and honey to that tea, LOL. Take Care

Richard called me, his sister is doing fine. And we will be going out soon. Lordie must be the full moon we had, all these men wanting to take me out. Steve, Thomas, Dave and now Richard, thank goodness they all live in different cities. Except Dave lives about 6 miles from me. Gotta go bowling....TTYL

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Happy Happy Birthday Crissy!!!
Hope you're having a blast tonight.

Making my rounds here... prayers will be said for those that need. He'll do what's best for us.

Susan, take care of that cough.
We have two extremes of exhaustion here that can cause colds and flus..
Bonnie, who pushes herself physically..
and Susan... who's 'mentally' overworked. You both need to TRY to take it easy sometimes, or just pace yourselves.

Waving Hi Barb.... Trisha... Laura...

Maid M, I do want to see pics of the Halloween outfits you did for her grandbabies.

Too tired to go on, lucky to be home earlier tonight, so there'll be no rush job to clean up and feed the kids...

Thank you LK for helping out. You're doing a great job.

Thanks for the kind dmails sistahs. When you're limited to what you can do, at least the good thing is, I'm contented with this life ^_^

You all have a wonderful night.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Jaye - are you saying I'm "mental"??? LOL
And look who's talking, Sistah!! You're the Queen of tired right now........

(note to self - your sistahs are lovely, but you need to get OFF your addiction and Get Back To Work!! - Baaaaaaaaaad Susan!! tsk tsk tsk)

ciao ladies - shutting down all non-work related 'puter stuff!!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Hope you all get a great nights sleep! Wake up feeling good, and no more sickness!
Jaye, hope your doing OK.
Prayers for all!
LK

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

LOL!!! Susan, you're the most lovable "mental" case!!

LK, thank you so much. Don't know when I'll have a break... but thank God for sistahs like you who understands.

Well off to bed.. see you all when I can.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Thank you Susan, Susan she doesn't get off work early, in her case the problem is she works 30 minutes from home, but church is 45 minutes in the opposite direction, so she has to literally leave at 4:30, which is her time to get off work and by the time they go out to dinner (but they have no money so they have to bum from the church constantly,) and go home they don't have time to change clothes before they have to leave again to continue their drive south for another 45 minutes. Craziness! I'd pick a church a lot closer to my house and/or work. She does lie and has this huge chip on her shoulder. She's a bully, simple as that.

This afternoon before I left, I heard someone say something and I immediately interpreted it to be Vicodin because I was in so much pain I'm sure, and I yelled, "I want some Vicodin!" She said, "He didn't say anything about Vicodin, and I don't use drugs of any kind!" Wha??? I said, "It's medicine and only becomes a drug like what you're talking about if it's abused." Then I thought, she's got to be absolutely nutso, she's on blood pressure pills, migraine pills, memory pills, and a few others, and who said anything about Her using the drugs, I said I wanted them! And Susan I could go on and on about that but I won't here, I'll get myself in trouble. lol

Susan I'm so sorry to hear of your sis's problems and BIL also! T&P going out to you hun.

Here's to all of the overworked, overtired, and mental cases: Night Night! Sleep Tight! and don't let the bed bugs bite! I have to use this stinky stuff on my back for 3 weeks straight so I'm not going to have to worry about those for a few weeks anyway.

Raleigh, NC

Good Morning Glory! coffee's on sistahs! have some yummy French Vanilla cream to go with it, too. or hazelnut syrup flavoring if you prefer. there's Earl Grey, Lemon Lift, and Constant Comet for the hot tea drinkers. Eggs over easy, granola bread toast, bacon and hot cinnamon applesauce in about an hour.

Randall just opened the front door to get the paper and let Hope out - Yipers! it's nippy out there, and the poor fella has shorts on!

first again! WOW. this is so weird. usually someone else writes good morning as I'm heading to bed! feeling strain in upper arms, and across the back on the lower shoulder blade level. so will just mix soils and pot irises today. Oh, school bus just picked up the girl. Time to start moving!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning everyone. Bon, thanks for the breakfast! Glad you are getting some sleep, and getting your schedule straight. I bet you are sore today, after all you did yesterday?
Today is my last day of therapy, so lets pray it will continue healing. I still have this real sharp pain, on the outside of my leg, just below the knee. So far, no one can figure that one out?
I will catch you later.
LK

Raleigh, NC

OK, now I've finished reading last night's posts.

Jaye, I am more like you, been barely moving for over a year. Part of problems is from too sedentary a life. If I've talked about working, y'all keep in mind it's been "work ten minutes, rest and hour." Have been working hard 1 full week, and even then had 3 "not getting out of my chair" days. Jaye puts me to shame with all her crafting and sewing. Oh! I saw the sewing machine yesterday! was climbing through my office that has become the junk room and saw it peaking out from under...

Crissy, I wish I could wave a magic wand and show you what happens when you stop giving a bully the power to make you unhappy. It truly is a matter of deciding not to care what they say or do anymore. Gives such a sense of freedom and relief. As long as they can push your buttons, they have power over you, which they crave and keep doing, it's what they are after, that sense of power. When that doesn't work, bullies literally can't figure it out! Eventually, they'll go pick on someone else because they need their power fix. I think I should send you a "there are no hot buttons for the bully to push" banner for your desk at work!

Raleigh, NC

Morning Linda Kay! we cross posted. not nearly as sore as I expected to be. am sort of surprised.

wish docs could figure out your pain. therapy is no fun, is it?! we gardeners abuse our knees so much. and our backs. Whenever I sit with Randall to watch football and see those young fellas getting their knees bashed, I think, "oh, they're going to feel that for years to come."

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Well, I have my desk top sort of running, I still have to go and down load all the programs I need, like flash player... I have an email icon, but nothing happens when I press it, I don't know how to get my email running! UGH! Darn computers!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

LK - try this, it may help with your email....

If it's Microsoft Outlook, you should have a gold-coloured box icon on our desktop. If that's what it is, right click on your email icon, click Properties- you should see a "find target" button. when you click on that, does it show you the proper program? Outlook.exe is the proper one, if you're using Microsoft Outlook. and not a Web Based (like Outlook Express).

If you have another type of email program (other than MS Outlook), you should still be able to look at the Properties and Find Target, but as I'm not there, I can't help further.

Hope this works....

~Susan~

Raleigh, NC

haven't gotten anything worth mentioning done today. spent most of day in my chair after all. headachy, throat sore, stuffed nose - think I worked too long yesterday without enough coat on - and I had a sweatshirt I could have put on, but I was working and sweating and not noticing how chilly it got as I lost the light. food did not appeal to me either.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Thanks Susan. I had to call the cable company, and get all the pop3 info. I have it set up, but I lost all my emails when the hard drive crashed. Starting all over from scratch sucks!
I have them in my laptop, but will have to open both computers, and just copy and type them in the desk top! It should only take a few hours!

Oh Bon, I do hope your not coming down with the crud, it seems to be making it's round! Please take care, and make sure you have some of that tamiflu, they are talking about on the news!
