Best/Worse/What did I learn today? #124

Victoria Harbour, ON

It's best not to invite trouble BUT better to be safe than sorry...here there are 3 or 4 hours wait at the needle clinic..temps are dropping from this morning..can feel the cold chill in my bones...

Victoria Harbour, ON

Drats/drats and more drats..because it's a gloomy day Paul just called and said for us to leave at 1:30 .. thought he'd treat us..

Treat us, doesn't he know I've played crafts all morning, just got back from lunch 10 minutes ago???

Downside, told the girls to meet me here at 3:00 to leave for the city..managed to reach them both..of course they can't get here most likely until 2:30 but that's ok..a little earlier is better than not...

Everyone must be busy...gab to you on Monday...

Baton Rouge, LA

I am So overwhelmed with all the HUGS sent my way... THANK YOU ALL!

A HUGE big Hug back from me......

Boss was nicer to me today...and told me how she wanted me to fix everything...so I have a handle on everything...but still not in the 'clear'....BUT

THANK you for all the Big Hugs: Trisha, Susan, Liz, Judy, Bev, Crissy and Betty!

Your posts really MADE MY DAY !

Second to LAST Football Game tonight...it was raining so Band left after performing at Half TIme... It was my last time to announce the Band from the Pressbox during their Half Time Show....since the last game next Saturday is Senior night...and I will be on the field with DS being honored as a Senior Mom. It has rained on literally EVERY GAME this year with few exceptions. I told everyone it is Gods way to make me not miss football season as much. :)

I'll post again in a bit...again ...THANK YOU ALL !

Much Love,

Mary

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Glad things are going better at work Mary - all our good wishes must have dented the boss' exterior to her soft underbelly LOL

Well, I'm feeling better - 13 hrs of sleep out of 23 hours, plus ColdFX really "kicked" this cold but good!!
My cough is almost gone, and the tiredness in my chest is much, much lessened.
Only a slight "drip" and the cold is gone, gone, gone! ^_^
I know I was run down (lack of sleep), and overworked (up to 3 hrs OT on some days), but I'm better now.

My DH wants to get his Grim Reaper costume on so I can take pics for here. He'll do it tomorrow, when I'm up to it (he needs help bobby pinning his face on LOL)

I hope everyone has a good night tonight, and a good weekend (Hallowe'en included!)

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

It's 13c / 56F outside - nice warm day, almost springlike.
Don't think I'll be going outside though - not over the cold..........

Almost finished the tote bag (embroidery), then will assemble it ^_^

These swaps are giving me the opportunity to do stuff I haven't done for a long time.
Thank you to all my DG buddies in swaps!!

Judy, thank God about Skittles. Oh my heart was with you on that story.

I love Jap Maples and some nursery here said she has several in her own yard, but I never see any here and I tried one time. I love Pepper trees too and mine dies to the ground each year and takes a while to come back but does each year, but never grows. It would be the same with the JM, I am sure.

Imagine...Nov. 1st already..

Tempted to turn on Christmas carols, busy cutting wood for the 3rd. Christmas DG workshop...everything going according to hoyle..lol

Had a bit of a fright last night, news came on that there was mega damage done to Waubaushene Cemetery the night before..got Greg to go see, Roger's was ok...drats, those kids need to be found and taught how to respect the deceased...

Didn't receive photo's yet of Caleb and Braedon in their costumes...

Kyle wasn't going out, decided to at last minute so he got himself some scrubs (from dad) and a coat (from mom) and was a Dr.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Betty glad to hear no damage was done to Rogers tombstone!
Love the costumes!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Linda Kay...I got more of a kick out of these 2 grandsons coming up with their own costumes versus the 2 in the city that I made....might have to give them a hint for next year....

Rosamond, CA(Zone 8b)

We'll let you know in a few years if he still keeps wearing them. lol

Victoria Harbour, ON

Dawn, did your little pretties get to go out this Halloween..how was the weather for the little ones, rain held out here, shortly after we got a light mist...

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Hi there! Glad to hear Roger's is ok, I hope they catch them.

It was cold but we did it! My costume called for a long sleeve t-shirt so it wasn't bad, until about midnight when it got down to about 45*F, that's a little nippy hanging out with a short sleeve dress on...

My internet is not wanting to post a pic, keeps saying I'm having satellite outages, which I'm not, so I'll post them at work tomorrow morning and call them tomorrow night.

Boo.

Hello To All;

Hope everyone had a Happy Halloween! The party seemed to go well...everyone had a great time...Teens showed up in costume...swam in the pool a bit later...then bday cake...then most went home and a few stayed to play Rock Band.

A family I know from band...the daughter and bfriend were brought by her older bro...he is a computer whiz...and fussed around on my computer all night. I payed him and it is running OH SO MUCH better now.! So maybe I'll put off buying a new one...but I still dont' want to upload pics until I've deleted a few off here that he saved to disc.

Betty - the costumes are Precious! I think Noah is QUITE the HAM. LOL! Such a huge personality....

Crissy - Can't wait to see photos!

I volunteered for 2 hours tonight answering phones for the St. Jude Telethon...the winner got a $400,000 House! It was quite a wonderful and humbling experience...I might volunteer again next year...just such a great feeling!.

I have been wondering what to do with myself after DS graduates...and no more "Band Volunteering"...maybe this is just the thing....

Hugs,

Mary

Victoria Harbour, ON

Mary, hard to keep up with you, lol..how busy you are..guess with teenagers in the house there is never a dull moment...
donation your time donating to St.Jude's couldn't be spend in a better fashion...we have something similar here, Princess Marguerite cancer draw..in 5 years I've known 2 people who have won the grand prize...almost $500K in cottage/car/cash..should purchase a ticket..they are now on sale...$100.00 enters you in the early bird draw...can't win if you don't buy one right?

Crissy, can't wait to see your photo's..how's your mom doing? Did Dave finally get the weekend off or is he still working those crazy hours...?

Sending Prayers for Tubby and Shirley....perhaps this week she'll have more news..

Well, worked my *&^) off this weekend..all the kits are cut..today at lunch I'll pick up what is needed for each (decorative items) and tonight might even get them packaged.

I'll make labels today, that will save time tonight...

As well with my having a Nov.10th card workshop in MacTier I can play making iris folding cards all week...

So as usual I'm up to no good!!! just kidding....going to ask the boss for Friday off, that way I've an extra day at the craft show just outside of Buffalo

And what do you have planned today?

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Betty he's still working those crazy hours, he took the weekend off and didn't take no for an answer, he's been covering everyone's in late, leave early every day without a day off since Labor Day, enough is enough and of course they were all mad that he wasn't going to be in, it's too bad he's being used like that. He's extremely grumpy too.

Working, half of our employees are either out sick or took the day off, so there's no one here.

I hope we hear from Tubby/Shirley soon, I'm very concerned....

Good Day!!

OMG, Betty, so sorry to hear about the Cemetary incident! Yikes, rotten kids sure know how to take the fun out of things.
But i was glad to hear Rogers was left alone...Tsk, tsk, just want to shake those kids up.

(((((((Susan)))))))) I hope you are feeling better today.

Liz, Big hugs to you too...Hope that your feeling better too! ((((((LIZ))))))
Crissy, looks like you had a great time! Awsom costumes.

Heavy sigh, So friday was my first day on the Janitorial job. Remember i was whistling while I go about? ROFLOL, well that lasted about a half a whistle, was just a whist...So, i have been traveling the same route for hundred years or so and you'll never believe who got lost on the way to job!! LOL, Liz, adding GPS to my Christmas list...ok, so in my own defense, the road I always take is underconstruction, so took a different road that turned into something else and I got confused, so ended up half hour way out of my way, lol finally arrive and was really happy another half a whistle, cuz i could get the doors unlocked, ahhahah, turned out was using wrong keys! Txtd Steve, he called to set me straight, finally get into building and then couldn't get into unit!! Now i was just infuriated and all whistling stopped, mostly cuz i had to go potty and now i was stuck, so went for another ride to find gas station, all they got is a porta ickky potty! ewww, hate those things. So get back to building and start the cleaning. meantime Steve calls and says he'll drop by to show me right key to unit. OK...better sit down, So i had the right key, it wouldn't go in because, grrr lock is upside down, so far so frustrating...LOL, then I get all done cleaning the building, get into the unit and proceed to do the clean up. Yikes the whole day took 7.5 hours, I was exhausted...Then i had to rush take a shower because we were going to dinner with Cuz and Uncle. Oh my gosh, that was splendid, great time even danced up a storm...

Them, remember I said i was not going to be sewing on yet another halloween day? Well, guess who ended working on costumes all day long again! Well it was fun and easy but geesh...I made Steve a Caveman in like 15 minutes, sew simple, it was rediculas. Then Julia decides on a being a cat, sew had to rummage through material for black, lol took longer to find material then sew the little ears! Jacob decided to go easy on me and went as a scarey clown...He went to a party with friends...And Liz, it was his friends who painted his nails orange!! ROFLOL, even funnier, but they also bloddied him up, and ruined my beautful clown outfit, that I made many years ago, grrr again. Sabrina kept changing her mind, So i told her she is stuck just wearing black and painting her face! What gets me is they didn't go to party, they just wanted to dress up to pass out candy! LOL, they like to drive me batty! Me, i was a witch, only more haggish all because i wanted to show off my boots! lol...How often do I get to run around toothless, eeeheehee. The party was ahuge success, and lots of cool costumes this year. Gouls, witches, midevil times...Great bunch of people. Yesterday, We got home at decent time, all i wanted to do was lounge around, so thats what I did, at least until dinner...Then got to work on cleaning up this mess of a house, OMG, Halloween stuff everywhere...So my table back to it's normal mess, lol....

Today, working on laundry and getting HW stuff put back in the bins...LIz, lolol it took me about half hr and only 2 bins, inside and out.

MY gosh Betty, your boys looked so cute! Love the pink lady. What fun...

I hope you all ghad a great Halloween day...

Mary, wow. Aw, that is so sweet to do volunteer work, I am so glad you found it to be so rewarding.

OK, got to go switch up loads.
Enjoy the afternoon.

Victoria Harbour, ON

I'm in stitches Judy, you are just too funny...

Can just see you trying to open that door all the while having to find a rest room...what did Steve say when he found the lock had been installed upside down, wasn't he who did it was it? Wouldn't that have been a card..

You make Halloween so much fun...was the party at your house again in the basement? no wonder you've mega cleaning to do...

Well it's just after 4:00 and almost dark..yuk..back to travelling in dark in the a.m. and p.m...said the temps could turn colder and we'd have the odd flurry, but can't believe it's for our area as yet..but it is coming!

Mom called to confirm we are going to Buffalo, said yes, she said, book a room so we don't spend the night in that nasty hotel, because if we do, I'm not going.....that ended that...will book our regular hotel tomorrow..now that summer is over there should be a lot of rooms available...always something when we visit Buffalo...lol...

Just e-mailed Cathy, had taken her to get her passport a few months ago..she and her mom are so helpful around my house that I asked if she'd like to join us...just means I have to go searching for a doggy sitter...
Will worry about that once she says 'yes'...

Wish I'd have had more time at lunch to go get rolls of brown paper for packaging...did the Michaels thing, picked up a salad and there went that lunch...

ohh forgot to show some of you the cute flower pots I picked up on the weekend..

Thumbnail by Bettypauze
TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Cute pots, Betty!!
and that cup & pot combo! I have a much smaller one that my DD gave me one year for Mother's Day - it's a single sized one, and so sweet! Blue & white.

It'd be fun to have you all on a trip, especially as she'd been so much help around the house ^_^
Dog sitter, eh? hmmmm that's tough, unless you use a kennel...

~Susan~

Victoria Harbour, ON

Susan, have plenty of people dropping in from time to time...my house is a drop in center ..I won't have trouble finding someone..her mom comes almost every day as well to give Sailor treats...only for 3 days so won't be a problem..she's not called me yet to say 'yes or no' perhaps tomorrow...

tired/tired tonight so off to bed I go..

Best of the day...Marg calling with such a joyful voice..no cancer...yehhhhh..and Barb making the iris folding card and enjoying...

Worse of the day..depends how you look at it..Marg wanted me to go to MacTier to teach a class...I said I'd go if she had at least 10, she now has 18 and figures around 25 by Tuesday..yikes I've mega work to do for preparation

What did I learn?...keep focused..had something to put in my kits..wrapped some only to remember the item was not included..that's what you get for rushing..back to the drawing board..

Night/night
Good Lord willing we'll gab tomorrow!

Rosamond, CA(Zone 8b)

Crissy seems like she has a fun group of people in her circle.

Kids now days do take things too far sometimes. I guess in every generation they do though. My parents days, people left keys in the cars and they took off in people's car, joy riding. Today you would be arrested for it. In those days they would tell your parents and you may have to apologize.

Baton Rouge, LA

Hello To All;

Betty - yes - it's very similar to your drawing the tickets are $100 also. We raised $1,064,300 for St. Jude...(I say "we" yet I only volunteered for 2 hours...so don't want to take credit for that...just excited about the amount...especially in this economy)....

The Teens may keep me busy...but it seems nothing near how busy you are! Maybe I need to take a class...one like the kind that you teach...I'll have to keep my eyes open for something that is interesting...

CRISSY - love the photos...of course I'm a Disney Fanatic so your costume is my fav. However did you find those cute yellow shoes!

Judy - Your teens are keeping you twice as busy as mine...they are lucky you sew....and can make things for them...I had nothing to do with my teen's costumes...they had to figure it out.... Glad you all had a happy Halloween...

Betty - what will you be doing in Buffalo? Will Mom want to hit the casinos?

Waving to ALL....Susan, Bev, Linda Kay, Trisha, Sharran, Hellinzn, Liz, Barb, Debbie....

(((HUGS)))

Mary

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

LOL Judy! You crack me up! Too funny!

I bought the costumes at http://www.disneystore.com They came with Dave's shorts, shirt, big yellow shoe covers, and a baseball cap ears which Dave hated, so I went to a Spirit Halloween Store and bought the headband ears for $1.00 and the black tights were mine.

Mine came with the ears, dress, and shoes and I had black tights in my closet. The black shirt I wore was Dave's.

They were originally $79.95 but on sale for $39.95, each.

Pacifica, CA

morning all,

crissy, wishing you a HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!
hope it is a wonderful day for you..........

Victoria Harbour, ON

Happy Birthday 'Crissy' now what do you have planned that is exciting? well maybe you haven't planned it but Dave has....what's the chance of that? lol Enjoy your special day....

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

I get to go to a chiropractor appt at 3pm and hopefully make it back to work before 4:30pm to work til 5, otherwise the phones aren't covered. Dang bone spurs!! If I would just have that back surgery...

The chances of Dave planning something for anyone's birthday including his own is between slim and none and slim just left town. LOL

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Happy Birthday, Crissy!!

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Thank you Susan!!! I'll be less grumpy when I get to the chiro this afternoon.

The office sang happy birthday to me today except for Ms. Cheerful. I would have taken the day off but couldn't because she made a dr appt for this afternoon. She just told me that she canceled her dr appt but "YOU had better come back because I have choir this evening and can't stay!" So she thinks that I give a rats *&*(&*() about her choir, or her at this point???? She treats me so bad it's incredible, I wouldn't treat a Cottonmouth Snake the way she treats me.

Nilwood, IL(Zone 5b)

Happy Birthday Crissy. BEV
