oh like those instant on hot water heaters? BF was thinking about switching us over to one...everyone here takes showers except me, (me, shower, glass door, ER, 17 stitches) and never fails after all the kids go and take their showers I'm always stuck with a cold bath!
GYPSIES AND PLANT ADDICTS MEET HERE
My hot water tank is very close but I still run the water until it is hot when I run the dishwasher.
When living in Belgium, there was a flash heater over the kitchen sink that heated water going everywhere. I don't know why we don't have more of those in this country.
eh, we were typing at the same time. I've never heard of a flash heater. In addition to a hot water tank? or instead of a new one? which would be too late, because we just got one during the summer.
how about a new dishwasher???? (( grin... ))
oh Santa, bring me a new dishwasher even if this one isn't broken yet
does anyone know how to break a dishwasher?
I like em, wish I had one...but that's the tree hugger in me...kinda like convincing BF we should put solar panels on his garage to help defray the cost of the energy bill, and I told him I wanted them on my greenhouse so I could have more lights in there when needed and put lighting around the backyard so we could actually USE it, or see to get to the hot tub we have that he wants to get connected, or for some pool lights since he always likes to swim at night but can't see out there
Sounds like we shoulda had this conversation six months ago....sorry Smiley. We are gonna have to replace our h/w heater before too much longer and we are going to flash heater. Small, efficient and not much difference in cost.
Guess you could add a tablespoon of bleach to the first wash cycle to make sure the dishes are "smiley" clean....grin
how to break a dishwasher 101
1.pizza pans in the bottom rack to to break the spinny thing that washes the dishes on top.
2. strong eating or cooking utensil accidentally dropped in the bottom on the inside tends to break the spinny thing on the bottom...but make sure no ones home cause it's very noisey and sounds like somethings being eatin alive
3. accidentally using open door as a step ladder a few times warps it so it wont seal and gets water and soapsuds all over the kitchen
want me to keep going JUlie?...lol
Trina, it is a security issue having lights around your house. I don't think it is good if you can't see in your backyard.
Smiley, lift the strainer in the bottom of the dishwasher and drop 2 or 3 screws into the area beneath thescreen. They will eat up the water pump and then, remove the strainer and take the screws back out. Got no idea what happened honey. It just made a horrible noise.....
Or, you can use a small spoon and just leave it there....another "Geez I dunno"
May someone learn from my error, Moon!
LOL Trina, I've heard enough!
Venice, I agree. There's so many options in pool lighting nowadays.
By the way Smiley, that idea came from my DHJim. He says it will absolutely work and really should be done. He has his moments, but health issues are big with him. Guess it is the EMT training.
what gets me is how old these kids are and no one has ever used the backyard except to play with the dog or jump on the trampoline....i thought that was kinda wierd but who knows, then again remembering what I have heard about there mom, ok.
but seriously my sons birthday was in August right before school starts, I had the same pary I do for him every year, 2 days of food prep and being a sceaming meanie about getting things cleaned up, they couldn't figure out why I was making them help me clean up and rea arrange things on the back deck, well everyone gets here and I think it truly suprised the kids, BF and BF's mom....they had never had any sort of gathering here before!
yeah if the dishes aren't being cleaned and sanitzed your just wasting all that water and the energy to run it
Going to play. Talk to yall in a while.
beautiful little girl dixie!!!
my feet are cold! I need more fuzzy socks! will trade plants for fuzzy socks! LOL
All together now: aw-w-w-w!! she's a cutie! love the shirt.
Bill called to tell me Ang is not the homecoming queen (whew on her part) and I asked him about the dishwasher. He said it was not a separate heating element. But the hot water tank is in the basement almost directly underneath where the dishwasher is, so I guess it's no different than hand washing, except using all that energy.
And on that note, I'm jumping ship early and going home. Because I can. So I'll see you all later, have a good one!
hurry back Julie!
hey venice I just found out something really cool....the mother in laws tongues flower!!!!
I 've tons (none like what you sent which is called 'Moonglow') of these things and didn't know that......now I want to see them flower!!!!!!
What a sweet little Honey Bee, Mimma....she is a cutie.
Trina, you need to get a pair of hunter's battery heated socks for the winter. they will help keep you warm. You also need a knit skull cap. The majority of the heat lost by the body is through the head. that is why they put knit skull caps on newborns.
I'm sitting here wondering if I can post a thread on every forum..."Send me your unwanted plant, bulbs, and seeds"....hehehehe
I must have them all send them to me now I am the great Noah of the plant kingdom, I must collect them all MMMUUUUUAAAHHHAHAHAHAHA!
ROFL
I would wear 1 of those 24/7 if I could Moon, but I settle for a baseball hat in the warmer months...and I have fuzzy ones of them too!...and gloves I wear gloves probably from the end of september up through march/ april
